Baby, let me tell you, GOD was guiding the hands of the bartender last night, our drinks were so good. We pretty much stuck to apps last night (but I will tell you about food I've had here recently). We did house guac, queso fundido with gringo meat, esquites (elote off the cob) and the honey tajin wings once a couple more folk joined us. I've had street tacos here, ribeye tacos and the short rib torta - it's all absolutely delicious. Our waitress was on point (I didn't get her name) and she appreciated that we looked much happier when we left than when we arrived - she even brought out the bartender so we could give that gorgeous Amazon her props in person. I had a second drink - it was a peach sangria and it was delicious. Very light and refreshing, totally recommend. I've also been there when they have trivia night - it's crowded and tight but it's a great vibe and that's what makes Papi's Hampden an easy choice.

I feel like packing the toppings separately might have helped. The carnitas were lacking a lot of flavor and very dry. I remember loving the esquites but these didn't blow me away like before. The tortilla chips were the best thing about the meal. Maybe this is the kind of spot you dine-in instead of takeout? I'll also mention that the online menu states that you get 2 tacos per order but I was actually given 3 each. I probably would've just got one order had I known.

The employees provided excellent service and were kind and helpful throughout my visit. I was able to grab the hand sanitizer I needed along with a cute new sanitizer clip. Everything was well stocked and displayed nicely. A quick, pleasant shopping trip with great service! Papi's Tacos -- Dulaney Valley My friends and I met at Papi's Tacos for lunch and had a great experience. I ordered the elotes and took advantage of the $10 quesadilla special with gringo meat, which was flavorful and delicious. They offer different lunch specials Monday through Friday, making it a great affordable option during the week. It was also Restaurant Week, but the regular specials were already such a good deal that we did not need to order from that menu. Great food, good value, and a fun place to meet friends for lunch!

That was surprising because most restaurants are willing to work with you when a dish clearly isn't enjoyed after the first bite. The food here has usually been good, which is why this experience stood out. It just felt like there was a missed opportunity from a customer service standpoint to turn the situation around. Hopefully management considers being a little more flexible in situations like this in the future.

We are both big boys and after a day of biking in the 90+ degree pre-summer heat, I was ready to fill up the tank. First, the food. The food was good though not rising to the level of great. The ingredients tasted fresher and of better quality than Qdoba and to me, slightly higher quality than Chipotle. The rice didn't taste like the cheapest option from Sysco and the chicken (if I could find it) was ok. The burrito included greens and guacamole. The tortilla shell was crisped on a grill. My main complaint was the size was so small - to me it was as satisfying as eating a burrito the size of a Hostess Twinkee. The menu was fairly extensive with so many choices, but sadly, after experience the burrito, I am not willing to invest into other entrees. Secondly, the service/atmosphere. The clerk clearly struggled to be friendly and seemed like their mind was elsewhere. Not really a problem until you see that gratuity (of some unknown percentage) would be added to parties 4 or more. I appalled by this gratuity movement especially in a spot that borderlines fast food. Since I made up my mind to not return again, I felt sorry and left a few bucks on our small daily special offer -- even though all our server/clerk did was bring us two glasses of yucky Baltimore tap water and take/serve our order. There is nothing here that screams out "I'm different", nor value, fun, nor great. I'm sure the food is prepared to Abuela's recipes but I don't taste anything from the several trips to Ciudad de Mexico I've taken in the past. I just can't sign off a recommendation. It's not bad but it's nothing impressive either. 10 out of 10 times, I will choose Chipotle, 9.5 out of 10 times, I will choose Qdoba over Picante. Sorry, amigo.
