Solid experience at this chain eatery in Towson. I went recently for trivia night, and I was surprised to see how busy it was. I had never been there before. The service was really excellent, but everything was kind of mediocre. The tap of Diet Coke tasted dirty. Came to have dinner with some friends while attending a local sci-fi convention. While the service was a bit slow and they forgot a few things, overall our experience was great. I had the buffalo cauliflower and it was delicious. A recommendation to the restaurant, serve bleu cheese with the dish to make it complete. I requested bleu cheese dressing and it was given with no problem. I also had the shrimp platter. I chose grilled and I was not disappointed. The seasoning was delicious and the shrimp were done very well. The establishment is attached to the Towson Town Center and is in the mall. I've been here a couple times overall very enjoyable. Staff is kind and friendly, food is good (not great), reasonable portions and prices. Drinks again are good (not great). Atmosphere is lively and nice, only been a three times but never had any issues that can come with being in a bar. I went for a Friday night trivia that was very fun with decent trivia that would be difficult for the average fan. But not too difficult that's it's not fun for most people. Initially, MacKenzie sat us down, and she was very friendly as well. I wanted to try a cider, but nothing too sweet, and they let me try a few different ones. I liked the mango mimosa one - not sweet at all, but tasty. I had a jalapeño cheese burger with fries. It was good but not spicy as I had hoped. It was at least filling. We ordered the chips and queso, and that ok. The tater tots had no seasoning or flavor. The side of buffalo cauliflower was about 4 pieces of cauliflower with a drizzle of buffalo sauce. The cheese pizza did not have a lot of flavor and the crust just tasted oily. Others at the table said the wings were good. I also ordered the strawberry mule and that was pretty good. I would come back for the drinks but would not spend money or the calories on the food. UPDATE based on owner's response to my review. The only thing that was modified was the adding of onions to the 5 cheese flat bread. It was a few sprinkle of onions on top which was surprisingly disappointing. We found the Music Bingo event on Facebook and decided to check it out. This place is tucked on front side of Dulaney Valley of the Towson Town Center mall. You must be over 21 to dine on the inside after certain times. One thing for sure they start on time. We already missed a few rounds, but no worries the host made her rounds to include all new guests. The game was free to play- win-win. So we were given a play card that had two bingo cards and a pen. All you have to do is listen for the song and check it off your card if it is played. Easy, right? Also if you don't know the song, the host will pop around or announce the name of the song to help. What songs was played? A mix of new and oldies but goodies. Okay, now what did we indulge into? Well I love wings- ordered the naked dry rub spicy wings. Sorry no pic, your gurl here was trying to play bingo and wat at the same time. But they are worth trying! Hubby had the fish and chips and ordered a beer and Moscow . Of course I did order a shot which are reduced after 9. Plus, I ordered the chocolate chip cookies and ice cream for dessert. We met some friends tonight to go to the brass tab for their friends TV show trivia night. While the server that we had was great that is the only positive thing about our experience tonight. The food was horrific the pizza and pretzels and dessert. all taste exactly the same. The celery that came with the wings was floppy and mushy, but perhaps the worst part is eating in the restaurant and seeing a mouse run across the entire restaurant. It even ran across the foot of the people sitting next to us in the other table. If there's a mouse in the front of the house, I can only imagine how bad the back of the house in the kitchen would be. We actually went to the wrong location and didn't realize since we aren't from there. We were visiting from central California but I'm low key glad we did. The bartender wasn't sure what a michelada was but after we talked about it she pulled it off (and alcohol free) and it was so good! I come here a lot for food, happy hour, trivia, etc. this is definitely an awesome spot with great service but the food just isn't hitting it. I have been disappointed by a number of dishes but tonight was the most upsetting. Previously I have had not so loaded "loaded fries", the chips are sometimes a bit stale, the dips (salsa, guac, queso) are OBVIOUSLY not fresh and from a jar/container. I would be shocked if someone said the salsa wasn't Tostitos mild straight from the jar but anyway. Tonight we all ordered grilled cheese. I got the orchard ham and cheese and swapped the Swiss for cheddar. I'm not sure you could classify this as a grilled cheese. It was more like grilled bread with cheese because it wasn't melted. It supposedly had apples in it but it was just one medium size slice in the bread and again, nothing was melted. It didn't flow together at all. I ordered the brussel sprouts to replace the fries and was also disappointed. I found myself actually regretting eating them because they were so bland and tasted strange. I really like the vibe and people and activities here. The drinks are usually good so I will likely be back again but I am overall disappointed with the quality of food here. I don't often expect to get good food at a mall, unless I am going for that always-satisfying and healthy to boot option, Mall Chinese Food. But The Brass Tap is actually a pretty solid choice. The waitress was lovely (she made this a four star review), the beer selection is outstanding, and the Sweet Heat Barbecue Bacon burger hit the spot. They may not have asked me what temp I wanted it cooked to (maybe they don't do that in suburban Baltimore), but I'll always appreciate a burger topped with barbecue sauce, bacon, pepper jack, and crispy onion straws. Everyone with a brain and taste buds loves some crispy onion straws. I feel as though I made a mistake on several levels by getting brussels sprouts instead of fries, but my gut is starting to expand and sometimes you make poor decisions in the name of vanity. To the chef in the back, please trim the hard, bitter roots off the sprouts in the future, and maybe get a little more of a char on those guys. Or don't...who am I to tell you what to do. read more

Let me start by saying whoever is running their social media ads is doing a great job. It got us in the door for the first time and unfortunately the last time as well. Service wasn't great we were forgotten about for quite some time which is kinda hard when you're sitting at the bar. But to be far at first they were busy and in the weeds. After waiting we ordered deserts after waiting 20 minutes we questioned where they were - just to be told they forgot to ring it in. No big deal - said they'd be comped off the check as I'm sorry. If that's where the story ended I wouldn't be writing this review but it's now time for the worse part. Someone def overserved a customer so much so this man was laying face down on the ground searching for a golf ball. The staff did not seem alarmed at all. The customer could barely stand and was very clearly intoxicated. He was drinking something out of a water bottle he brought from outside (not purchased at the bar) why that alone was enough to kick this guy out I'm not sure. He was told he needed to finish the drink.... Anyways I made it very clear we were uncomfortable with this guy who would not leave us alone but the management didn't do anything. So we decided to leave abruptly before trivia was even over. When we got the bill the "free" desserts were still on the bill AND the drunk guy followed us out of the bar. We won't be back. read more

So Friday night's date night lead us to the Brass Tap out Towson Town Center. It was pretty good on the parking after circling around once we found parking which is pretty rare for there. I've always wanted to try the Brass Tap cause I've always seen their little dope game & trivia night themes. Last night happened to be Marvel movies. So before I get into why I gave them 2 stars. The service was great our waitress was nice & fast. For appetizers I went with the boom boom shrimp. Which were pretty good the sauce isn't as good as the bang bang shrimp at Bonefish but dey will do. For my meal I went with the brisket grilled cheese meal. It was excellent brisket was cooked to perfection. Fries were nice & crispy I really enjoyed the meal. So now to my issue which dampened my experience. We elected to play the Marvel movie trivia game & my years of being a huge marvel fan paid off. We were in 1st place at which time my best friend elected to join us. So upon her coming the host started being really rude & disrespectful. One instance he comes over & tries to look into her phone to see what she is doing. Then he proceeds to make an announcement that any team playing in the trivia can't use their phones or anyone at their table can be on theirs. All of this anger & uncalled for aggression directed towards us. So at which time we proceeded to say the hell with the game because he was outta line & just continue enjoying our night amongst ourselves. But the unprofessional behavior is the sole reason I gave them 2 stars because first off he never stated in any rules were prohibited (which was pointless because we didn't use our phones). Second to disqualify us from a game which had 2 rounds lead when my best friend walked in & we were clearly in the lead by 5 points was a bit extreme. The spot has a vast selection of beers and is the perfect place to go if you appreciate a good brew. I asked the bartender for an IPA recommendation and really enjoyed the one they offered. My friend and I hung out here for about an hour and a half. The night that we went they had 80s music bingo which was really fun but we didn't win . I saw a post on Facebook they were having Family Feud game night on Thursdays so I decided to check it out. The food, the atmosphere and the service was great. I especially like the Tiki Man drink and the Boom Boom shrimp. If you're looking for something to do on Thursdays check out this place for the Family Fued Game night. I found out they have specials in Tuesdays where you can get two chicken tacos with chips and salsa and a house margarita for $10! (Can you say awesome!) The Brass Tap is located right in the Towson Mall, and I was a little apprehensive about going to a place built purely for the sake of filling mall real estate. I was pleasantly surprised. The drink options at the Brass Tap are expansive. Whether you're an IPA gal, or a mule guy (I'm more of the latter), Brass Tap will have drink selection you'll enjoy. The food was awesome too. We got the tacos, I got the chicken ones, two of each. They were delicious: had a homemade slaw and some sort of ranch-like zesty sauce. Our server and bartender, Jerry, was great for conversation and accommodating our needs. I'm glad I've found a cool place close to home! Started off with the flight of 4 beers to try & the Austin Eastsiders Watermelon Cider with a crown royal vanilla with ginger ale (which tasted like a vanilla cream cicle-delicious). Definitely recommend the crown royal vanilla w/vanilla & ginger ale(5/5) and watermelon cider(4/5). I had the American pub burger with fries. The burger was cooked well and applewood bacon was a nice touch. It was a good burger and I definitely recommend trying it but I've had better so 3.5/5. Unfortunately I immediately noticed a small black hair in my fries so I'm taking a star off for that & the fact I wasn't able to eat my complete meal. After spending close to $60 here I would have expected more, that's not including generous tip. Our server/bartender Jessica was great and provided friendly service and answered questions about the different craft beers and ciders. She gets a 5/5. If it weren't for the drinks & her service my rating would be lowered. More like a 3/5.
