We love El Taquito! Their food is super authentic and everything they serve is delicious. Their tortas are HUGE and a great deal for the price. Their salsas are great and proper spicy. They also serve house-made tepache which we never skip on. On weekends, they have carnitas and barbacoa which they cook in batch right by the main entrance to the restaurant. If you go on a weekend, you have to try those tacos, which also come with a side of consommé for extra flavor.

Came in here on a very cold day and were the only ones in the restaurant. Our server was very sweet and we started with complimentary chips and 3 salsas. I ordered the carne asada tacos as well as carne asada burrito. The burrito was good, rice and beans were flavorful. The carne asada itself however was not the highest quality meat and was a little rubbery. The guacamole appeared and tasted to be just mashed avocados (no salt, cilantro, lime juice etc). Overall the meal was alright but was fairly priced for the portions, and service was welcoming.

Have been here a few times now and can say that this is a solid place for a quick Mexican food fix! - has all the staples (sauces, complimentary refillable chips with salsa for your table, large pitchers of horchata, etc) as well as all the menu staples - yummy food at great price point. For example, a burrito is $7! - friendly neighborhood vibe here (once when the line was long/they were busy, one of their staff even came out and gave the people waiting samples of their michelada) - good service whether small or large table (they were super accommodating when we had a large birthday table there once) - fun, inspired decor complete with two TVs playing Latin shows/music. Clean and well maintained interior. Coming from California, there are times when I miss Mexican food and I am very glad I have this place within walking distance! I'm excited to try other things on their menu! Tip: street parking may be tough to find sometimes, pay with meter

One of my favorite spots in Baltimore for delicious food at a very good price. Their chips are made in house and sauces are amazing. 10/10, I can't recommend them enough.

Carne Asada taco, Al Pastor taco

this is the best authentic Mexican food that you can get in Baltimore. The food was hot and very fresh and the prices are amazing and the staff is super friendly I 100% recommend this place. inside of the restaurant was super clean cozy and welcoming. Definitely will be returning soon!!

    Dry and small tamale

Im a usual customer and today I placed an order over the phone to save time waiting in person. I still waited 15-20 minutes in person even after my commute, totaling about 30-40 minutes for just 2 tacos and 1 tamale (premade). When I got home, I unwrapped the tamale and it was tiny and really dry. It definitely tastes old and dry as well :/

Food was absolutely delicious and authentic, and staff was very kind. Would certainly recommend

Food: 4.25 Out of 5 Now this is the authentic Mexican food I'm looking for when I need a fix. We were provided chips and three different kinds of salsa (salsa rojo, verde, & pico de gallo) as we settled into our table for dinner. My partner & I ordered three tacos each and we split a horchata (literally a pitcher size provided). My goodness! The meats of everything we ordered is what I know what amazing Mexican food to be -- flavorful, homemade feel & great texture of meat. Yes I admit the chips we had were unevenly cooked, some chips obviously older & just refried, but who really judges the entire place off chips?! (A gringo who literally can't handle the heat of Mexican salsas! Lol). Back to the tacos! The corn tortillas are made in house (handmade & pressed to order) and a generous portion of your protein, with a side of nopales, grilled scallion, limes, and radishes. Thank goodness we ordered a horchata to give us some relief in between. Horchata is a very sweet rice milk drink with plenty of sugar and a cinnamon stick. Fair warning this place has a heavier hand with chilies in their salsas. Meats ordered: carnitas, al pastor, carnitas enchilada, carne asada, & chorizo. Service: 4.75 Out of 5 The ladies that served us were wonderful and easy going. Leslie was our main waitress, but the other lady checked up on us as she walked by. No news was good news for them. If we ever needed anything we walked up to the counter to ask, the ladies were accommodating to requests. Environment: 5 Out 5 Off the beaten path of Fell's Point waterfront, about 10-15 minutes walk on Eastern Ave. Hole in the wall look on the outside, but fabulous home cooking on the inside. In addition to the four seating tables they have three large communal tables if you want to come bring your family or bunch of friends! Overall 4.5 Out of 5 stars: El Taquito brought me back to Mexico and the homes of my college best friends. If you're looking for fancy this place is NOT for you. But if you care about the basics like great food, good price point, & can bring plenty of company try this place out! None of that Tex Mex or gringo style Mexican some places sell by the water front in Fell's Point.

    Quesadilla
    Yogesh S.

I ordered vegetarian burrito bowl, cashier confirmed that and said "Vegetarian or vegan?" to which I said "vegetarian, I can have dairy products like cheese". I got the bow, I had couple of bites and then I found something suspicious like meat. I asked what is it, and I found and confirmed with their cashier that it was chorizo (pork meat)). I understand mistakes can happen, but the cashier confirmed twice! They were nice enough to offer me something vegetarian, so I decided to not take any chance and ordered cheese quesadilla (refer picture), I mean it is very difficult to mess up cheese quesadilla. I had the WORST cheese quesadilla, you can see in the picture that it was kind of soggy and not sure what kind of cheese they had. It was not even properly cooked. I had a very bad experience with this place. There is a lot of room for them to be better.

OMG I used to live in Los Angels and now I am in Maryland and I have never ever got Mexican food in East coast as great as this place. It is really. Starting from today whenever I want to have real Mexican Food I shall come here. It is real and everybody should come here at least for once

My boyfriend has lived a block away from this restaurant for over a year, and this was our first time going here. And regrettably we should have come much sooner. We ordered: the chicken enchilada, chicken tostada, and an al pastor burrito. The enchilada came with rice & beans. All portions were great, especially for the price. Everything tasted fresh and it was prepared so quickly! Packaging was neat and provided extra napkins, plastic ware, and sauces. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great takeout experience to help us get through another weekend of COVID quarantine!

The guacamole and queso were definitely my favorite. The blackberries in the guac are such a unique and flavorful touch, and the chips were perfectly crispy and salty. The restaurant is so stunning and full of so much character. Sitting outside was perfect but sitting inside would be amazing as well.

Each taco is extremely fresh and I can tell that it was crafted meticulously in the kitchen. Be mindful that each taco is priced separately and you get a single taco ranging from $10.00 - 15.00. The guacamole is fresh and garnished with strawberries. Personally, I typically go for a spicier and more flavorful guac, but if you opt for a fresh and simple dish, then it certainly checks the box. The queso is thick, cheesy, and topped with peppers. I personally could appreciate a creamier queso, but I will say the dish looks and smells amazing. The oysters are rather small in size but they're extremely fresh and come topped with a jalapeño. My expectations for the drinks were a bit higher than what they delivered. Drinks tasted a bit watery and the flavor wasn't as potent (this says a lot for someone like myself who is pretty light weight). Service was fairly accommodating, however, keep in mind that they enforce a rule of having half of your party there prior to seating you. Also be mindful that their menu changes to dinner at 5:00PM, and seating at the outside bar may be closed depending on when you arrive. My favorite of all the dishes was the was the Al Pastor taco! I'd like to give this place another try because just based off of the aesthetic alone it has sooo much potential to be absolutely amazing!

I've had ravioli at many restaurants, and this is by far the best! But let's start from the beginning. The place is small, there's not getting around that part. Let's call it quaint. There's the bar, several 2-seater tables, and a few 4-seater tables. Think converted row home, but only the first floor. Still, it packs a punch, in a good way. Let's call it cozy. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away. We started with cocktails. I ordered an espresso martini and my partner ordered El Fresco. They were both tasty. I've had better espresso martinis, but it was still good. My second drink was a beer. The draft machines were down, but the beer was still good. My partner ordered the strip steak that came with fries and salad. It wasn't your average salad. It was delicious. The fries had garlic & parsley. The were delicious as well. And she absolutely loved the steak. So much so that she kept trying to save some for the next day. It was a delicious meal! The parking is street parking. It's a cute spot. We'll be back!

They give you toasted bread with chimichurri as a starter-- definitely a nice addition. If you're a soccer fan (specifically River Plate) you'll enjoy the place a little more. They have a replica of the FIFA World Cup you can hold. Anyway, definitely a worthwhile place to go for a meal if you're in the area. Note: they open at 5:00 pm.

We ordered a salad, lomo empanada, and 1/2 chicken meal with brussels sprouts & carrots and black beans. To drink we got a chica morada. The lomo empanada had a great flavor and texture which was great to split as an opener. The 1/2 chicken was flavorful with both the light and the dark meat worth trying. The chicken was halved right in from of us with a large cleaver and the freshness was notable. The brussel sprouts were plentiful, crispy if a pinch oily, and with a slight sweetness that went well with the chicken. The beans were fine; likely the only thing we would not get again. Both the mild (white) and medium (green) sauces went very well with both the empanadas and the chicken. The chicha morada tasted of corn, cloves and cinnamon and was a nice sweet treat. Overall, a wonderfully quick spot with great flavor in the inner harbor.
