10/10 We had dinner here on January 22nd, getting in around 5:00 pm, and I honestly could not believe how quiet it was we were basically the only two people in the restaurant. That alone felt wild, because everything about this place deserved a packed house. The bartender was fantastic friendly, attentive, and clearly knew her stuff. It was happy hour, so I ordered a peach tea crush and my friend got an orange crush. She even asked whether we wanted soda water or Sprite, which is such a small detail but something I'm never asked and it made the drinks even better. Both were absolutely delicious. Now let's talk food, because wow. I ordered the half & half soup (half Maryland crab soup, half cream of crab), and it was hands-down the best crab soup I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. So good that we later came back for soup to go, and then also DoorDashed soup that night because we realized we were going to want more. That should tell you everything. I also got the lobster roll with crab and bacon fries, and I'm still thinking about it. Unreal. My friend ordered the pan-seared rockfish with loaded mashed potatoes, and her meal was just as incredible. Everything came out fast, hot, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself is gorgeous clean, comfortable, stylish, and welcoming. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful and kind, and the whole experience felt effortless. Yes, prices are a little on the higher side but this is seafood, and nothing felt shocking or out of line for the quality you're getting. Completely worth it. What really blew my mind was that when we stopped back later, it still wasn't busy maybe 10-20 people total, on a Thursday night in Fells Point. Absolutely baffling. Bottom line: This place is now a mandatory stop anytime I'm in Fells Point honestly, probably daily if I'm in the area. Incredible food, great drinks, beautiful space, and top-notch service. While in Baltimore for a work conference, we held a team dinner here. The weather was perfect, so we opted to enjoy one of the many outdoor tables (there is plenty of indoor seating as well). If you sit indoors though, you'd miss out on the cute neighborhood ducks that waddle in- a highlight of my night. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire visit. We ordered a variety of dishes, however I can only speak to my dish which was the seared Sea Bass with a side of green beans. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and although it was a little under seasoned, the grilled lemon helped add some citrus notes. I found it odd that the fish entrees were treated like a steak, meaning they do not come with any sides, you have to order them ala carte. The green beans that I ordered for my side were good, but nothing special, especially for the price. Overall this is a cute spot but definitely seems like it could be a bit of a tourist grab. read more

It's our first time in Maryland and we know their speciality is blue crab. We gave the seafood platter a try and it was to die for. My favorite was definitely the blue crab. I love how fresh the seafood was. The clams were raw and I didn't even realize until the waiter told me. That's how fresh they were. It was so good I had to get an extra order of clams and oysters. I'd say as for the crab dip it was a bit too cheesy for my preference but if you are into that, it would taste amazing. Overall, the dish was great! I am 6 months late in writing my review but I visited Choptank in August 2025. It is located in fells point right by the water so I would definitely recommend trying with friends who are visiting Baltimore to show them around! My friend and I sat outside and the staff were nice enough to move us when we realized our first table was directly facing the sun. Once we were seated at the table under the shade, we were ready to go. Our food was yummy and they even brought out champagne for us since we were celebrating my friend's engagement and my birthday. Their mimosas were also very yummy! The only caveat was that we were surrounded by bees the entire time we were there. The vibes, weather, food, and everything was good only if it weren't for the bees. I will definitely be back for their outdoor tables but try to go when bees aren't so out and about! read more

This is a huge venue. We have been here twice, once for a drink at the bar outside and once for brunch inside. The service outside was not friendly at all. I think we hit some sort of shift change, we were ignored for quite awhile by both parties. We also came for brunch on a Sunday. There was live music and the service inside was much more friendly. The food was fun (that chicken sando on a donut was a great brunch idea, I just wish the chicken had actually been spicy). My salad, despite all of the varied ingredients, was not especially tasty. The drinks were inventive, my Bloody Mary was super chunky and a little hard to drink. Dined here during a weekday happy hour around 6:00. The outdoor courtyard area bar was quite busy- because of the warm day we open for the indoor bar seating. Surprisingly, we were only one of two parties seated inside. The restaurant is very large and has nice, coastal ambiance. Our bartender, Nick, was so friendly and made some great cocktails. We were able to enjoy quite a few items from their happy-hour menu including the orange crush cocktail that Baltimore is known for I guess (was tasty), the oysters (fresh and delicious though a little on the small side), their gigantic meatball, and their warm crab dip (recommend adding more old bay). Location and ambiance are great - right by the water in fells point. Very solid happy hour menu with many drinks and apps (only at the bar). Definitely can get busy by the bar for happy hour but I have not had trouble with regular seating during dinner time. Was not a fan of the mussels, but good calamari and crab dip. read more

This is 2nd time visiting this restaurant and my 1st time visiting for brunch with family. The drink tower was a huge hit of course we said cheers so many times I can't count. The French toast with strawberry was pretty good. Fresh salad, double crab cakes were all good along with the cream of crab soup with I had during my last visit. They have a live musician that played a few tunes as always I requested MJ "Man in the Mirror". The restaurant was able to accommodate a large party without any difficulty. Stopped in on the way home to the Eastern Shore for lunch and it turned out to be a fantastic decision! We've been there before for dinner with groups and dined indoors and found it loud. This time we ate out on the porch alongside Ego Alley. She had the Lobster roll and had to take half of it home - loved it. I had the Blue Catfish sandwich expecting a standard one filet lunch sandwich but since I want to create a market for blue catfish and find them pretty tasty, I went for it. I want to say this with all seriousness. This was the best fish sandwich of my life. Previously it had been a grouper sandwich at the Islamorada Fish Company 35 years ago. I finally found a better sandwich and only because I refuse to cross the Bay Bridge on a Friday is why I don't go back for another. Three filets seasoned and cooked perfectly on an unobtrusive bun paired with a Cesar salad was absolute perfection. I decided to take a picture after 2 bites since i knew I would do something I rarely do - write a review for Yelp. Situated in the trendy neighborhood of Fells Point, The Choptank is placed smack dab in the center of the "downtown" area. Lucky for us, the weather was lovely that night (managed to avoid the rain) and so we were able to enjoy seating outside. Food was mostly delicious, with the exception being the roasted artichoke hearts which was really annoying to eat. The most memorable dishes we tried were the crab cakes, seafood platter, and the fresh catch fish. Service was great as our server mostly checked in on us if we needed extra bread, water, or any other things. Fabulous bar with a good list of specialty cocktails. Parking can be an issue in this area of town and they do not have their own parking lot. Outdoor patio with its own bar is great for three seasons. Closed in the winter. Yet inside is spacious and can hold large groups. Friendly service that is good about keeping your drinks filled. The food really stands out from their salads to their sandwiches to their fresh seafood. I have yet to have a meal that I would not go back for. We went to Choptank at Fells Point. Overall this was a very good experience. I will say that parking is extremely frustrating. They don't offer valet parking which I think they need given the very congested location. I was also disappointed with the seating which is far more casual than expected; and uncomfortable. Our waiter gave the perfect amount of attention and since we had an early reservation, others helped. I had the Chilean sea bass, pan seared with butter sauce and my hubby had blacked rockfish. Both were great. But the sides actually stole the show. Broccolini with garlic cauliflower purée was amazing as was the Mac n cheese! We then had the carrot cake was very good and the key lime pie which was a bit too tart for my liking. I tried their signature margarita and hubby had Long Island iced tea, both of which were on the strong side but tasty. Overall, I would highly recommend but would send you to their Annapolis location. There's one in Towson as well (but I don't know that one). read more

The location was great during our stay at the Admiral Fell hotel. We pretty much just had to walk across the street. The weather was very nice so we sat outside. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The loaded fries were absolutely loaded with crab meat, cheese and bacon. You pretty much had to eat it with a fork. Very good! This is in my top 5 best crab cakes. Loved it. Lots of lump meat with just the right amount of seasoned flavor. Im super picky about coleslaw and I loved theirs because it was not drowning in dressing, the cabbage was crunchy and the slight sweetness of the dressing combined perfectly with the cabbage. The green beans were cooked perfectly too. Crunchy and garlicky (but didn't overdue it). The beer selection could have had some more options, but I was happy with the Guinness Blonde that I ordered.
