I was invited to celebrate a friend's birthday. This is an upscale restaurant but some of the patrons were not of the level of the experience. However, I greeted and taken to the table of reservation. It was a party of 10 and our waitress Jada was the best. She attended to us and other large party tables efficiently. We ordered drinks, small plates and entrees. All came out without any issues. All parties were amazed by Jada's ability to be attentive, precise and professional while juggling multiple large parties. I would recommend this restaurant as the service, drinks and food was desireable and the presentation sealed the deal. A complimentary birthday butter cake and icecream was provided. And yes the butter cake was a favorite at the table.

Great place for a date night or a birthday! I came for a girls night out/birthday. They treated her very special and wrote a hand written card. The server was very attentive and didn't take time in bringing out what we asked for. Charbroiled oysters were my absolute favorite. I also ordered lamb chips which were about 6/10. I wish I had tried the fried lobster tails! The drinks were amazing, although costly. They averaged about $33 per person and we had 9. They drinks were cheaper at the bar- about $10 less. Overall, I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Food: bison tasted very gamey, heavy breading on frito mixto, and the tater tots were very salty (the rolls were salty as well but it tasted better) Service: staff were attentive and prompt Ambiance: upscale place requiring people to dress in business casual (although some weren't so not sure how they're monitoring that)

Beautiful space-old school elegance We were a group of eight so never easy on wait staff but they were trying. Great they split shared dishes for us - civilized! Good was well executed and beautifully presented. Highlights was Parker house rolls, lobster bisque, tater tots with caviar. Favorite was grilled seafood salad with a bright citrus dressing Steaks and sides were good but not fantastic. Chimichuri sauce for steak was the best we've ever had! Jalapeño cheddar grits looked like green goop and waffle fries were not hot or crunchy. Still a nice spot in Harbor east and love the 9oz wine pour!

Chicken Fried Lobster Tails ( with a sweet spicy sauce ) if you're into lobster tails you have to dive into this beauty!!

"A True Touch Of Class!" Let me start off by saying the service at "The Ruxton" is definitely a step above most upscale establishments. My server/host Demetrius did an absolutely amazing job of running everything down to us in a seamless fashion ( while also being shadowed by a new server ! ) Thank you Demetrius !!! And once our main courses kicked off, I was honestly left floored at how delicious every dish was. For starters I tried out the soft shell crab for the first time and the taste instantly won me over. While the chargrilled oysters dazzled my taste buds in every way !! The Finale ( entrees) consisted of Crab & shrimp risotto, chicken fried lobster tails, Mac & cheese, and garlic style broccoli. Every dish came with its own scrumptious delivery ( The broccoli is a must try... I never tasted broccoli that held its own against every other dish !! ) The Ruxton decor is absolutely beautiful and the entire staff maintained a level of professionalism that speaks volumes ( including the valet parking ) I encourage everyone to spend their next special occasion at The Ruxton... Promise you won't be disappointed !!!

Great food great service! Always a go to place when I'm in Baltimore. Yes, it's nice to go to a place where you know it's popular the food's great and they can still get you in for a seat on a Friday.

I know some people have it out against the company that owns these chains of restaurants (ATLAS Group), but dammit the food was amazing. The service was amazing. The ambience was amazing. I have to hand it to him. They really did it up for my parents anniversary and I probably most likely will be back.

The Ruxton is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. This is one of those rare places where everything on the menu hits--whether it's brunch, lunch, happy hour, or dinner. The space itself is a vibe--Art Deco-inspired design that feels upscale but still fun. It's usually busy (even the bar), so I highly recommend making a reservation. Some of my favorites: the chicken fried lobster tail (not listed as an appetizer, butyou can request it), lamb chops with mint jelly (OMG), oysters Rockefeller (so good it'll make you slap your momma), Wagyu sliders, lemon butter prawns, the steakhouse burger on the happy hour menu, and the branzino. And the true highlight?? The warm butter cake with ice cream. I've literally come here just for that--it tastes like something straight out of my grandma's kitchen. Highly recommend. This place does not miss.

Beautiful resturant and nice staff. It was Valentine's Day so of course they were behind and we didn't get the absolute best service we were checked on 3x total when we arrived , when we ordered, when they brought the dessert and bill. Did we feel a bit rushed yes. We do understand others are trying to get in but mid bite asking if we are done was a bit much. We would definitely come back on a non holiday as we know it will be a better experience. The caviar Tots are okay I don't like hot or Mushy caviar and that's what we received. The tots were great. Lobster bisque was pretty good and they have a great Caesar salad. We got the dry aged ribeye and the cowboy both absolutely delicious. Cooked to a PERFECT medium extremely flavorful nothing needed no notes amazing chef. Chimichurri ? Absolutely disgusting and for $4 absolutely not worth it. The rolls ?? Ask for some to go absolutely delicious and perfect. The shrimp amazing perfect garlic butter sauce delicious. The butter cake was good If this is the first butter cake if you've had another steak houses butter cake this one doesn't compare. And the little drop of red velvet not necessary.

Hubby and I came here for the first time for dinner on a Friday night. We made a reservation online. We ordered their wedge salad, chilled shellfish salad, dry-aged cowboy steak with their grilled asparagus and bacon mac n cheese. Total came to approximately a little over $200 (including tip). What's hot - Menu. Very good. There appears to something for everyone, even vegans. There's meat, seafood, and vegetables. For example, they have a cauliflower steak as an option. They also appear to be able to cater their dishes to your preference. - Quality. Excellent. Their asparagus were rather large for our taste, but their kitchen does a good job of shaving off a little from the bottom of the stalks. As such, their asparagus were served pretty tender. We ordered our steak medium and it was cooked to our liking. My chilled seafood salad comes with a delicious citrus vinaigrette. Not too sweet and slightly savory. My favorite dishes are my salad and the mac n cheese. - Portions. Excellent. Their cowboy steak comes with the bone and is sliced for you, which allows you to share. The mac n cheese is incredibly rich. That was probably the most filling dish. Unless you have a large party, I would not recommend a flight of 3 mac n cheeses, because it's so rich. - Layout. Rather small layout. We were seated at a table for two, but next time, I would like to take advantage of their booths, which is in the shape of a half circle, which can seat up to 4. - Service. Excellent. Their hostess was able to pull up our reservation immediately and seat us. They definitely pay attention to detail. The staffer gave us details for off menu items (i.e., their specials). We had questions about specific menu items and she was able to provide us helpful details about ingredients, texture, flavor, etc.... For example, when describing their chocolate brownie for dessert, she explained how it was fudgy, which is something I love about chocolate desserts. My husband and I love their rolls with wagyu butter. I specifically asked about the ingredients of the wagyu butter. When we paid our bill, our staffer gave us some rolls and wagyu butter in a takeaway container. Appreciate her attention to detail. - Price. You certainly pay the quality, portions, and service. My husband and I agree that we may only return for special occasions. We are interested in returning to their bar to check out their happy hour specials. What's not - Acoustics. The night we were there, there was rather loud music playing from their bar, which detracted from the ambiance. Their main dining room has rather low lighting, which tends to suggest a more calm and quiet atmosphere. The loud music detracted from the ambiance. It also made it more difficult for my husband and I to carry a conversation. - Quality. While the cowboy steak was delicious, it was not as well-seasoned as we would like. Perhaps this is where ordering their sauces and/or accoutrements might be helpful. My husband and I like our steaks to have a nice exterior seasoning and possible crust to add to the flavor. The cowboy steak did not come with that. - Cannot order their happy hour specials in the main dining room. To be fair, there are many restaurants that do not allow you to take advantage of their happy hour specials in the main dining room. Our reservation was for 5:30, which is before their happy hour specials end. - Parking. Depending on the day and time, it can be difficult to find. They have valet parking for $20. There is also street parking, but it appears to be metered paid parking around the restaurant. We parked our car at the Little Italy parking garage, a few blocks away from the restaurant, which is $5. Final Answer May come back, but only for special occasions.

Celebrated a special occasion here yesterday and had an absolutely lovely time. Our server was earnest; she helped us choose the best options for appetizers and dinner. I would highly recommend the lemon garlic shrimp-the scampi sauce is to die for and was delicious to dip bread in as well. The Martini/caviar tater combo was a don't miss-the martini was perfectly balanced and the potato vodka meshes perfectly with the caviar tater tots. The caeser salad was also fresh and flavorful-and large enough to share. The cowboy ribeye with bone in was a bit forgettable for me, but the butter cake was the best dessert I've had in a long time. I'll definitely return for birthdays and celebrations! I was also happy to see a diverse workforce and managerial team supporting the restaurant!

Very popular and crowded steakhouse. I was part of a large group enjoying a this traditional steakhouse. The service was very good though they forgot a few sides that we ordered My rib eye was cooked perfectly and one of the best I've had at a steakhouse. Their sides like seafood Mac and cheese to mash potatoes to asparagus were nicely prepared. I was impressed with how they handled the large crowd. Very nice energy and vibe. .

The first thing you see is the bar. I went to the left and sat down at one of the tables. After a couple minutes a lady gives me a menu. After about a couple minutes I decided to go with wings and a burger. Only problem was, my server was busy serving about 6 different people at the bar. Finally after about 10 minutes I was able to order. I get my food 20 minutes later. I don't understand why it took so long when everybody just had drinks and I was the only one seated in the restaurant part. The wings(6 for $15) were just ok. I got honey old bay flavor. The flavor itself was good but the wings were not cooked all the way for the middle part was lukewarm. The Charm Cheeseburger($20) a half pound beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a brioche bun. I wanted bacon added which was 2 dollars more per the menu. The burger itself was actually decent and it comes with potato wedges. They forgot to put the bacon in there but I didnt want to wait for the server to let her know and then wait again just for bacon. At least they didnt charge me for it. Service, or lack there of was atrocious. Every period in between interactions took a long time. In closing, I spent 35 bucks plus tax and tip for bad service and overpriced mediocre food. My co worker had drinks here one night and told me it was way overpriced. If you want good food and/or drinks then go next door to the Water Street Tavern. Their food and service is great there. I can only remember it because of how awful the food tasted and how terribly prepared it was-I have never had food this bad in my whole life. It was about 2 years ago that i went, but I can picture the........meal, I guess we can call it.... that was placed in front of my face like it was yesterday. A steak. Simple, right? Nope. Not simple, not well made, not well cooked, not even the right cut. I ordered the Delmonico- I suppose the cut could be argued, so I won't even count that in leading to my disappointment. What came to my table resembled more of a Hungry Man Dinner Salisbury Steak, and it had hunks of raw fat in it, and it was covered in this awful brown, salty, peppercorn sludge-excuse me while i go vomit. My husband ordered the lamb chops-bad move. They tasted like they sat in their own blood for days-gamey, raw in the middle (again), and tough like shoe leather. Raw, and tough....? Weird, but true. Now, my husband and I both like our steak/lamb cooked medium rare to rare, but this really was raw. I'm also a HUGE fan of carpaccio, and tartare-but this meat was really disgusting-completely inedible. Oh yeah- I believe we were told by the wait staff that the restaurant was for people with "an aquired palate". Um.......a palate for shit? That was actually pretty amusing, and at this point I realized I was not fighting about the food I had ordered with anyone. Our entire meals were sent back, our bill was paid, and then it was deducted off of my credit card. Xanadu, by definition, is a place of great beauty, luxury, and contentment. Yeah. Not so much.

Had reservations but upon getting there and peeking through the glass doors I realized it wasn't entirely necessary as there was only one other couple eating dinner. The chic Asian styling coupled with the diner booths down the middle of the restaurant area provides an interesting contrast to one another. There is just something off with having neon spirals lit up on the walls with porcelain Buddhas and other deities staring at you while you eat in a booth. The place filled up half the dining area by the time we left, and I can't blame them as the place provides an interesting environment to dine and judging by the lounge area, grab a drink.
