We went to Rusty Scupper last weekend for the first time, and I have to say the place is beautiful. The ambiance was very nice, the service was great, and the food came out very quickly. We only ordered appetizers and drinks, but everything we tried was good. We shared the crab dip, which was amazing, and I personally ordered the calamari, which I also enjoyed. For drinks, I had their sangria -- sweet, refreshing, and very good overall. My only issue with the place is the pricing. The spices that encapsulated the fish enhanced the overall flavor of the dish. It was some of the best fish I have had the pleasure of eating. My husband had the crab cakes & he stated that they were full of actual crab meat & not filler. I was very impressed that the restaurant offered a free calamari appetizer if you sign up for emails. The calamari was also very light & tasted great. We ordered the Parmesan Truffle fries as an appetizer also & they were crunchy and cooked perfectly & also very flavorful. My only reason for lower score was because they sat us in the table all the way to the end. My husband's view for the evening was the parking garage. We enjoyed the food all the same. My husband had the calamari to start (a healthy portion - we had leftovers). I had the half & half crab soup. It was a bit salty but went well with the delicious bread that they had. The bread & their special aioli sauce (we were told comprised of almonds, peppers, garlic) were so fresh and addictive. Hubs tried the oysters as an appetizer & crab cake entree complemented by green beans and perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes on the side. He loved them all. Son devoured the calamari appetizer and lump crab fettuccine entree and while usually reluctant about greens - agreed to have the green beans. Portions were generous and there was no room for dessert, but would absolutely return just for dessert :) ***Kevin G*** was truly an outstanding server, even letting us know when our entrees were to be delayed by 5 minutes (honestly doubt we'd notice) but boy was that a special touch! And after we left and hubs forgot the itemized receipt as he needed it for a conference we called and ***Kwami*** expeditiously texted us the receipt!!! tbh - I'm usually not into chain restaurants which I originally thought Rusty Scupper was, but since have learned this one is the last remaining location. Came back recently during happy hour just for a drink and a crab cake, and had a great experience. I enjoyed the Rusty Scupper Ale which was refreshing, and an absolutely delicious crab cake with large chunks of crab. We were also served bread which is just as good as I remembered from our prior visit. Our waitress was also super friendly and checked on us frequently. We didn't get full dinner as we had another planned stop before flying home but that didn't impact service. Crab cakes were great. Large lumps of meat and not much filler. We were sat at a window table with a great view of the harbor. Our server was prompt and attentive (Bellinis galore!). We were here for the brunch layout. The food was fantastic!! Ham, prime rib and lamb carving station, seafood. custom omelets, fantastic buffet spread of delicious food...of all the breakfast classics and comfort food eats. And of course.....The Seafood!! Oysters, shrimp, crab & lobster.....you name it....they served it. In all, our food was top notch. Our severs were very attentive.... helpful and pleasant but not overbearing. Wonderful experience! We came in on a Sunday night and it could not have been more perfect. We had the Tuna Carpaccio, Crab Cake, Shrimp and Grits, Scallops and Crab Fettuccine. All were great and very flavorful. The shiitake mushrooms and truffle puree surrounding the scallops was divine. The scallops were unfortunately quite over cooked but regardless it was still a highly enjoyable meal. Service was great and our waiter could not have been better with the host staff being incredibly welcoming as well. Ambiance was perfect, not overly crowded and stunning views. Happy hour in a venue overlooking Baltimore's Inner Harbor, what more can you ask for? I love that the happy hour menu is reasonably priced, and the food is absolutely delicious. I had a shrimp basket with fries, and a crab cake. Good portions too. The staff is friendly and attentive. Although I didn't have any alcoholic beverages, the folks in my group said that the drinks were not very strong at all and referred to the sangria as punch. I would like to add, that it would have been nice to be able to be seated at a table nearby rather than the high top tables, because it can be challenging on those stools with a senior group. Just a friendly reminder there are two seatings: 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. / 1:00 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. with a 1-1/2-hour maximum seating time to enjoy your brunch. Buffet closes at 2:30 p.m. & Last Cocktails served at 2:15 p.m. So if you are dining with other guests, make sure everyone in your party is on time. By far the BEST BRUNCH location in Baltimore! It is so yummy and delicious! I don't even know where to start. When you get there there's private parking that you unfortunately have to pay for but your car is safe and right at the restaurant so I get it. When you arrive you're greeted by multiple staff and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RESERVATION! I showed up once and forgot and they were already overbooked but they booked us for the following Sunday. The food selections change with different themes sometimes so it's not just the exact same menu every time. We went during Mardi and the food was so good. The restaurant is inspired by a ship of course so the interior is so beautiful and reminds you of a very regal cruise ship. From start to finish it's just exceptional all around. My overall experience at Rusty Scupper was positive. I loved the view of the water as I dined. My waitress was amazing! I wish I remembered her name, but she was attentive and very informative. I enjoyed my mahi mahi, but wish the fish itself had a little more flavor. I traveled by Uber did not realize that the entrance to the restaurant is a paid parking lot so Uber dropped us off at the road and we walked to the restaurant which was fine but if i had on heels it would have been a problem its a short 2min walk down long roadway/ driveway. I had a drink and decided to leave since I didn't want to get caught there at night waiting for an Uber on the side of the road. After leaving I saw a connecting road leads to outside vendors etc... which was nice to see/ sight see. In general I'lll say its a lot to navigate if ur an out of towner traveling by Uber. A company dinner well spent at rusty scupper. I had the opportunity to have dinner with coworkers to unwind and receive insight about the future of our company at the inner harbor. Upon walking in the restaurant is beautiful with great scenery of the harbor and the skylines. Our waiter mark was knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. I started off with an old fashioned then switched to a manhattan. The old fashioned wasn't crafted well in my opinion but the manhattan definitely got It right. Afterwards we ordered appetizers: oysters crab dip and calamari. The oysters were delicious, briny and sweet. The calamari was fried to perfection and the crab dip is more on the cheese side and not crab. I ordered my entree which was the whole crispy fish. This was pretty good but not the best fried fish I've had. The Thai chilli sauce added a nice flavor and the cornmeal provided an excellent crunch. The flesh of the meat itself lacked flavor. Lastly we ended with dessert as I chose the warm bread pudding, I wasn't a fan the bread pudding was very dense and the chocolate was a bit rich. This was our first Thanksgiving visit, and it was absolutely fantastic. Parking was very convenient. Paid parking is available on the same level as the restaurant. The water view was beautiful, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff were both professional and friendly. The food exceeded our expectations. The buffet included a hot food section with all the classic Thanksgiving favorites, a meat carving station with prime rib, pork loin, and turkey, and a seafood station featuring smoked salmon, steamed shrimp, and fresh raw oysters shucked right there. And the desserts were out of this world. Every item was prepared by the chef and tasted incredible. The Rusty Scupper is officially our new Thanksgiving tradition. There's a parking garage with $10 validation, which certainly is a perk. We had reservations but were seated early directly on the harbor with views of the water and skyline. Amazing Views and Mouthwatering Crab plates. We came to Rusty Scupper for our one year wedding anniversary on our trip from Florida and after a long day we finally were seated and began our feast. The restaurant is beautiful with amazing views of the harbor. No matter where you sit you can view the harbor. One downfall is that when you arrive for your reservation (you should make reservations on open table), they cram you by the door without seating, and won't let you up until the notice is received by the hostess through her headset she/he then lets you walk up where they seat you. This waiting area is tight and awkward. The waiters are very nice and knowledgeable and the place is not cheap. The restaurant was very crowded, there is a bar that was open with about 10 seats. If you show up last minute consider sitting there. read more
