Great experience! This is my first visit to Rusty Scupper. We sat at the bar for our first visit but the real treat is to sit by the windows with a beautiful view of the harbor. Reta and Donte were our bartenders and did an excellent job on the drinks and offered great service. Me and my husband shared the Crispy Whole Fish which was delicious and truffle fries as the side. To the point that we will be returning to Baltimore in a couple weeks and we will be returning to check out the brunch spread that they offer! Everything from the view overlooking the inner harbor. To Taylor our waitresses attending attentively to our every need with a smile. Then there was the food... we started with the calamari that was cooked to perfection, but the sauces absolutely blew us away. My wife went with the Baltimore fish fry that was just incredible. Went to the Rusty Scupper for dinner a couple days ago on a rainy evening, and honestly, the weather added to the ambiance. The restaurant sits right on the water in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, and we were seated by a window with a beautiful view. Between the water, the lights reflecting off it, and someone playing piano while we were there, the atmosphere was definitely top tier. Parking is paid only, but there's a garage/open-air lot right on the premises, so at least it's convenient. For drinks, my lady had the Scupper Sunset, which was really good--tasty, flavorful, and refreshing. I had an Old Fashioned that was also very good, although I felt like they were a little light-handed on the pour. My glass was barely half full. We skipped appetizers and went straight to dinner. She had the crab fettuccine, which was excellent. Very flavorful, plenty of crab meat, and a respectable portion. I had the crab cake dinner with two lump crab cakes, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. The crab cakes were very flavorful with little to no filler, but being from Maryland, I'm used to much larger lump crab cakes. For a meal that was around $68-$70, the size definitely didn't match the price for me. I can normally get one large crab cake at one of my go too spots that's close to the size of those two combined for considerably less. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were both good, and the mustard-based sauce they served with the crab cakes was phenomenal. I had it on the side, but I ended up wishing I had gotten some extra. Our waiter, McKinley, was friendly and did a great job taking care of us. Overall, the food was good, the service was good, and the ambiance was amazing. My biggest issue was simply the value. For the prices they charge, I expected a little more on the plate. I wouldn't completely rule out going back because there are other things I'd like to try, but based on this first visit, I wouldn't be in a rush. 3 out of 5 stars. read more

Best suggestion I've ever received in my life, no notes. The crab cakes. THE CRAB CAKES. 95% crab meat, 5% "why would we add filler bread, are we monsters." I didn't know crab cakes could have a personality until this one looked me dead in the eye. The Cream of Crab Soup was the best thing I've ever put on a roll and then had to switch to a spoon for, like it graduated from bread delivery system to full-blown soup mid-bite and I respected the glow-up. Not pictured: the Tuna Poke, which I'm still mad about. If you like poke bowls, do NOT eat here, because every poke bowl after this one is going to taste like a disappointing participation trophy. You will compare every future bowl to this one and every future bowl will lose. This is the place for a great meal, a gorgeous view, or the best first date that will ruin every future first date by comparison (sorry to whoever you date next). This spot was good overall. It has an old-school vibe and amazing views of the water. We had a group of 8, so I understand service can be a little slower with a larger party, but it definitely took a while. The food was pretty average across the board, and there really weren't any standout dishes. The crab cakes were especially disappointing because they were quite small. The biggest issue, though, was the tipping situation. My grandmother didn't realize the tip was already included, and the waiter never mentioned it to us. She ended up tipping another $300 on top of the already-included gratuity. I would expect the restaurant staff to have a little more integrity and make that clear to the customer, especially when you already have a high bill and have tipped accordingly. this meal was top-notch and I have to say the portion sizes were pretty great. I couldn't even eat all the vegetables, although they were so delicious on my plate. They didn't have as many gluten-free appetizer options as I would've liked to see but I asked him if they had gluten-free bread and they did bring me out a gluten-free bun lol I thought it was funny, but I really appreciated the effort. The Whistle Pig Maple Old Fashioned was outstanding and set the tone for an incredible meal. I ordered the crab cake with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and it was honestly the best I've ever had. We came during Restaurant Week, $55 two‑course menu, live jazz, and a smooth dining flow for our group of five adults and three kids. Came here after spending the day at the aquarium and we are glad we made the walk around the harbor to get here. Service was great, our server was super cool and helpful. The restaurant is more upscale and has an incredibly nice view. We got lucky there was an air show so there were navy jets flying by the entire time we were there. The food was very good, I got the crab stuffed shrimp, my wife got blackened rockfish, and my sister got the fry basket. We also got oysters to start. Prices are a little steep here but given the location and ambiance, it's expected. Either way we had a great time and meal. I'd recommend this place to someone visiting Baltimore. read more

Went to the Rusty Scupper for the first time today for Valentines Day dinner. They had a wonderful prix fixed menu for the holiday. It was a beautiful setting. My only reason for lower score was because they sat us in the table all the way to the end. My husband's view for the evening was the parking garage. We enjoyed the food all the same. My husband had the calamari to start (a healthy portion - we had leftovers). I had the half & half crab soup. It was a bit salty but went well with the delicious bread that they had. We were sat at a window table with a great view of the harbor. Our server was prompt and attentive (Bellinis galore!). We were here for the brunch layout. The food was fantastic!! Ham, prime rib and lamb carving station, seafood. custom omelets, fantastic buffet spread of delicious food...of all the breakfast classics and comfort food eats. And of course.....The Seafood!! Oysters, shrimp, crab & lobster.....you name it....they served it. In all, our food was top notch. Our severs were very attentive.... helpful and pleasant but not overbearing. Wonderful experience! We came in on a Sunday night and it could not have been more perfect. We had the Tuna Carpaccio, Crab Cake, Shrimp and Grits, Scallops and Crab Fettuccine. All were great and very flavorful. The shiitake mushrooms and truffle puree surrounding the scallops was divine. The scallops were unfortunately quite over cooked but regardless it was still a highly enjoyable meal. The calamari was also very light & tasted great. We ordered the Parmesan Truffle fries as an appetizer also & they were crunchy and cooked perfectly & also very flavorful. We ended our meal sharing a Mexican coffee. It was yummy & the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Finally, the view, decor & ambiance of the restaurant were all breathtaking. By far the BEST BRUNCH location in Baltimore! It is so yummy and delicious! I don't even know where to start. When you get there there's private parking that you unfortunately have to pay for but your car is safe and right at the restaurant so I get it. When you arrive you're greeted by multiple staff and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RESERVATION! I showed up once and forgot and they were already overbooked but they booked us for the following Sunday. The food selections change with different themes sometimes so it's not just the exact same menu every time. We went during Mardi and the food was so good. The restaurant is inspired by a ship of course so the interior is so beautiful and reminds you of a very regal cruise ship. From start to finish it's just exceptional all around. We visited The Rusty Scupper tonight and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Linwood (LJ), welcomed us and gave us a thorough rundown of the menu/special options. He also shared his favorite menu items and answered all of our questions. Throughout the evening, he cleared dishes so we had space on our table and refilled our drinks without us requesting. We appreciate his hospitality!!! The music playing was very diverse, including the pianist entertainer of the evening. The view is beautiful and the space in between tables provided different groups a bit of privacy while dining. We had the lump crab fettuccine, sea bass, kids' salmon, lump crap cake, calamari, scallops, and octopus. For dessert, we shared the flan and the cake with strawberries. Wow!!! It's a staple place for us when my wife is craving the whole fish with chimichurri. My go to is the pan seared scallops and I am never disappointed. The scallops are always cooked to perfection and the accompaniments are delicious. Asparagus and sunchoke slices with a sunchoke and truffle demiglaze. The cream of crab soup is delightful especially when mixed with the Maryland Crab.
