I've had dinner a few times at Ampersea and each time it's a lovely experience. You really can't beat the location. It's right on the harbor and close to cute shops in fells point and beautiful views. This is one of my go-to spots for taking family and friends from out of town that visit Baltimore. You have to try the crab dip and pretzel. It's full of fresh crab meat and very cheesy. The pretzel soft and salty and perfect for dipping. I really enjoyed my short rib. It was tender and flavorful, and the carrots were seasoned well. I also enjoyed the Burrata appetizer. I was surprised to see that it was served atop a slice of bread, but this was a nice touch. Perfect for soaking up the last bites of cheese and dressing. My boyfriend had the seafood pasta and it was tasty and had some kick. I definitely recommend ampersea for a relaxed dinner and top tier views.

I chose this location to dine. They were able to accommodate a party of 10. This location is a casual upward dininf experience on the Harbor waterfront. It is cold so there was no dining outside. We were seated at our reserved location. We didnt get greeted by our server until about 15 to 20 minutes after being seated. Our waitress came to the area greeted and took our drink order. She then took our orders for oysters. One ordered brussel sprouts for appetizer in lieu of the oysters. The oysters came out and by surprise they did an extra dozen of oysters in which they gave to us on the house. The oysters were great. But the brussel sprouts never made it to the table. We then order more appetizers (fried green tomatoes, crab and shrimp dip, cream of crab soup and brussel sprouts) I can not eat crab and shrimp so I was not able to taste those items. The guest loved their appetizers and I loved my fried green tomatoes. No complaints. Entrees were ordered that included crab cakes, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, spicy seafood pasta, seared scallops and chicken pesto. When the meals came to table, there was only one complaint with one of the seared scallop meals; she stated it reaped a strong ammonia odor. My mushroom risotto was creamy and most delish. Our beverages range from old fashion, tequila moon, french 75, dirty martini and ginger ales. The drinks were all enjoyed. To set the night to a close the waitress provided a comp cheese cake for the celebrated person. We enjoyed our dining experience and will return in the future.

Great experience. One of the owners welcomed our large group for brunch. We were celebrating three birthdays and the owner was nice enough to give us around of delicious white gummy bear shots. The staff was very friendly and attentive.. The restaurant was clean with hand painted walls. There is indoor and outdoor dining. My wife had the seafood omelette served with potatoes which she enjoyed. I had to try the crab cake. It was full of a lot of thick crab meat. I had to add a little bit more old bay to spice it up, but it was delicious. Overall had a great time here with great people.

The service was great, and the restaurant was well decorated for the holidays. The food was just okay, and quite heavy. It's a good place for a quick bite on the water but not the most incredible food

Ampersea is one of the best restaurants in the Baltimore Harbor area and, more specifically, probably the best in Fells Point. I say this for a variety of seasons. I will share more on that in a moment, but best believe, dining on the waterfront already qualifies for three stars, and it can only go up from there. As I mentioned, Ampersea is located in Fells Point, steps away from the water taxi and downtown Baltimore. I've been in and around the area several times, but never noticed it was there. If you are taking the water taxi/ ferry, you can't miss it, but you might miss it if you're on foot. That said, the restaurant is classy and gives a next-level dining experience. I don't believe reservations are necessary, but I would inquire about one just in case. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor we 777744On this outing, my guest and I opted for outdoor seating. Truly beautiful, but it had its minuses. Altho47ugh we enjoyed dining outside, we had to contend with the ants. The ants didn't ruin our experience, but they did appear occasionally, which was a nuisance. As for the staff, overall I would give them glowing remarks, but once seated, the gentleman who greeted us at the door and seated us asked where we were from, and I told him, and he proceeded to grumble something under his breath and turn up his nose. Our waitress, on the other hand, was gracious and attentive throughout our dining experience. The food, ambiance, and wait staff were terrific, and I would return. Ampersea has something special, and I won't let one bad encounter ruin what I believe was an overall fantastic experience. Please give them a try, I'm confident you will have a marvelous experience.

Great view of the water from our table and the staff was very friendly. Liked the happy hour pretzel was half the size, great to split without getting too full! The lobster roll was very flavorful, but wish it was larger in size for the price. The fries were very crispy. My husband enjoyed his fish tacos. Overall, had a nice visit!

We took a family trip to Baltimore. My sister has been there before and she really likes it. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in, you can sit inside or outside right in front of the water. We got there shortly after they opened and it got packed quickly, it was pretty lively. We started off with the crab pretzel, which was giant, came out fresh and it was really good. Got the ceviche and the oysters we enjoyed that. The menu was pretty big, as far as the entrées some of us got the same things, but we enjoyed our dinner. We would go back if we were in town.

They welcomed us almost immediately (pup too!) Food was meh. Lobster Roll was seasoned heavily with old bay or some other seafood seasoning. Bug landed on my husbands burger as soon as it hit the table, he didn't eat it. Told the server and she said "oh ok". I guess you really can't do anything about sitting outside. Wine selection was minimal. Server/bartender didn't have much knowledge behind their wines as "they haven't tried it/don't drink wine" Manger? Maybe. Offered us a puppy burger, very nice to offer but we declined

Ampersea's location is unbeatable for some of the best views. The restaurant is huge and has a large outdoor dining area that wraps around the corner on the promenade. I used to come here quite a bit before COVID and always enjoyed the food and drinks. It had definitely been a while since I was last here but recently came in for lunch with a friend. I got their salmon wrap with truffle fries and iced tea. The wrap was great. It was seasoned well and the truffle fries were crispy. The service experienced this time was good too. The ambience and vibes here are great. I need to start coming back here more as they do have some really good food and the views are just beautiful.

Lobster roll and crab cake sandwich- go 50/50 with a friend or partner so you can try both!

What an unexpected highlight our lunch here was. I called ahead for a party of 5 to make sure there was room and was reassured we'd be accommodated. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated outside with a stunning view of the Baltimore harbor and met with warm smiles and congratulations on our celebration. Our server Kira apologized for being busy and the owner brought us champagne while we "waited" -- we didn't mind at all because we were still looking at the menu! It says a lot when a restaurant preemptively takes those steps to make sure their customers are happy. The entire team stepped up to make sure we were constantly attended to, which shows that they have a great teamwork mentality here. Our server Kira was attentive, friendly, and dedicated to her table's needs. Anything we needed, we knew we were in good hands with her. The owner stopped by several times to check on us and joke around; we learned the interesting backstory of the Ampersea logo, which brings to mind a combination of an ampersand & and a fishing knot! I can see why this restaurant is so successful, under great leadership, this versatile "seafood & more" restaurant has the wind in their sails. The manager Joey went out of his way to make our experience special and made us feel at ease from the moment we walked in to the restaurant from the moment we left. He showed consideration on every level; making sure we were comfortable outside, checking in on us, and even suggesting excellent photo ops for our family around the beautiful Ampersea property, which is so beautiful and has so many scenic options. Thank you to Joey for making my brother feel like a VIP on his day of celebration, he walked out of the restaurant with the biggest smile of the day. I've added some pictures of the lunch which was delicious and satisfying! There is a variety of great appetizers, the fries were cooked to perfection, and the lobster roll was the star. (The ceviche starter lags behind the others somewhat, but only because the rest of them are so excellent.) This restaurant also does event spaces, which based on our experience I can see how they'd excel at this. There is also a parking lot right next door to make it even more convenient. I suggest you try out this restaurant for yourself, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again to the Ampersea team.

We came here because it seems to get recommended a lot online. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed. To start, we weren't super thrilled with the drinks menu. They had some interesting wines but none of them were by the glass, they only offered a couple by the glass options. The cocktail menu was fine but nothing spoke to me, so I ordered an old fashioned. I'm sorry but it was not good at all. An old fashioned should have 2 oz of liquor in it, yet this filled up an entire glass, telling me they added a bunch of water to it (and that's how it tasted as well. Just watery rye). They also used small ice cubes which made it even more watery. The food menu had some good options but I went with the paella special. It was fine, nothing special, did not taste super authentic but I liked some of the seafood in it. The brownie was just not good. They were very flat and dry whereas I was kind of expecting a thicker, richer brownie. Overall pretty disappointing and probably won't come back.

    Nice views & atmosphere!

Great location, ambiance, service & food! Happy Hour was very nice with great value wines & appetizer selections! Water views are amazing! Manager Joey, bartender Wilson & waitress Kayla made us feel very welcome! Def going again! May be my new favorite place in Baltimore! Can't wait to visit in spring when the patio is open!

My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. If you're looking for an experience and are not too afraid you may want to visit Annabel's. I do recommend it and do insist coming after the sun has been well down.

Also for a group of 12, it took about 7 mins for everyone to be served food. Yes, this is a large party, so you must have several servers come bring the food when you're charging these prices. It should've been a seamless experience but we had several friends waiting on their food while others were halfway through. The food quality itself was hit or miss. The pork belly app was delicious! Crispy and tender. But the octopus was overly chewy and weird. We had 2 dishes with it and both were cooked like that, it wasn't good. The lobster poutine was delicious and went quick. Paella was okay - the shellfish was overcooked and seemingly dried up. Drinks were good and staff was friendly. Overall, there are a lot of kinks to work out. I actually found Union Hill while planning my friend's 40th birthday dinner from another state, and from the moment I reached out, everything just flowed. I inquired about hosting a dinner and one of the owners, Matt, got back to me within a day. From there, the planning felt effortless. He answered all my questions, stayed in communication, and really helped bring the whole vision together. We had close to 30 people for the dinner in one of their private dining areas, and when I say the staff was impeccable... they were ON IT. My friend had no idea where she was going, so this was a full surprise. Once we gave the staff the green light, they were ready and immediately started accommodating everyone. Everything just flowed from there. We did family-style appetizers, which I loved because everyone got to try a little bit of everything. Everything was flavorful and came out at the perfect pace. For my entrée, I had the salmon and it was so good. And listen... I hosted the whole thing, ate there that night, AND still had leftovers to take home. That's always a win. They were also super accommodating leading up to the event. I was able to drop off the cake and cake pops the evening before, and I was even able to decorate the private dining area, which made everything feel really personal. What could have easily been a stressful experience ended up feeling seamless. The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful. As you can see from my previous review, we did not have the best experience the first time. But tonight was absolutely amazing. I think we must've just caught them on an off day the last time. We got the chicken fingers for my youngest daughter, and they came with a marinara sauce. But of course she wanted ketchup. We asked Greeta if they had any ketchup and as it turns out, they did not. But Greeta went to another restaurant nearby and brought back some packets of ketchup. If that isn't going above and beyond, then I don't know what is. The food was absolutely stellar. We got a lot of things and shared them, but some favorites even amongst all the deliciousness were the whipped ricotta, the Caesar salad, the chicken marsala, the diver scallop entrée, and the tuna appetizer. The cocktails and wine were also fabulous. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars and now we can't wait to go back!

Whenever I see a local restaurant/chef nominated for such an award, I try to get there to see what it is all about. Unfortunately, my first visit was not good. It began with our seating. For this outing, I was with my wife. We arrived and were immediately seated at a small two-seated table directly in front of the main entrance. The restaurant was extremely busy, and the table we were seated at was basically at the crossroads of all the traffic. Also, the location was very cramped and made it hard to move. With that, the worse of the problems was actually being so close to the main entrance on a cold evening. The door was constantly opening and closing allowing blasts of frigid air each time. That made our seating exceptionally uncomfortable. I can sometimes look past bad seating, understanding that it is important to get as many people in so the restaurant can make money. Many times great food can make up for shortcomings in other parts of a restaurant. Moreover, amazing service can really make me forget about those seating issues. To start, we got the Arancini Funghi appetizer. To my concern, it seemed to come out exceptionally fast: about 4-minutes after we ordered. And wouldn't you know it, the arancini was frozen most of the way through. It took a decent amount of time for the server to return, he was very nice, and took the frozen appetizer away. It took over 10-minutes for a new one to come out. At that point I was agitated. When I tried the new arancini appetizer that was brought out, it was cooked well, but had almost zero flavor. Needless to say, I was done for the night. After another long break of waiting for the server, who was very attentive to a four-top a few tables away, came back, I told him to cancel my order. My wife did get hers. Now, back to the service. We went for long intervals without our server coming to see how we were doing or trying to actually remedy the situation. He was constantly focused on the four-top that I guess was going to be the better tip. I guess since I had canceled my main course, he knew the tip would not be as good. In any case, the service was lackluster for the whole evening. My wife got the Ricotta Cavatelli that came with lobster. To me, it looked too soupy. She said it was a little soupy but was good. Personally, I did not try it and was ready to go. In the end, we were also charged for the arancini appetizer that had to be re-fired. I was not happy about that. If a restaurant makes a mistake, the customer should not be charged for it even if they receive a re-fired replacement. Our server, even though very nice, was not very attentive to us and more worried about a four-top. The frozen arancini was frustrating. The re-fired replacement was flavorless. Our table was in a terrible location and we were constantly blasted by gusts of cold air the whole time. In the end, the experience was not good. Will I return to give Marta a second chance? Yes. I don't like writing negative reviews, but the experience was bad enough for me to write one. When I return, and the experience is much better, I will write a new positive review. Until then, 2 stars is all I can give.

The service is always great, and having a big party is never a problem. The servers are attentive and organized, making it easy to pay for what you got at the end of your day at Lee's. With TVs everywhere, you can expect a lively crowd. The firecracker tots were the perfect nibble with our drinks for the afternoon and you can never go wrong with fries and ranch. When going out in Canton, I always uber, as I don't live walking distance and I know parking can be hard. However, with Lee's being located in such a fun area, you can easily bar hop and have the best time. I hope to go back to Lee's soon for their one of their oyster events and even enjoy other delicious menu items.

Note, my daughter had put ketchup on plate before realizing the oversight. So, when the MANAGER brought the food back, I'm thinking it was a show of good faith given the error. Nope. He had a smug attitude and puts the plate on the table where I immediately notice the original plate was reused because it had the ketchup smear. I asked him if this was the same sent back plate of food and he said "yes" and said the added the avocado. They UNWRAPPED the original wrap and just added the avocado and brought the entire plate back. I immediately questioned how that follows food handling guidelines. If they weren't going to redo the order, they could have just brought avocado slices to the table! The MANAGER had a very dismissive, RUDE attitude and so I sent everything back and left. I did tip the waitress cash because she was great and had got us drinks by that point. Again, she was nice and side-eyed the manager agreeing what he did was not acceptable. Apparently he also had a rep for being rude and nasty. I will never eat there again. You have a kitchen with seafood and meats and have no food handling controls? Yeah, miss me with the risk of food poisoning or cross-contamination. No thank you! You're rude to customers and have no standards? Whoever runs the kitchen should know better as should the manager. I can only imagine what else goes on in that kitchen. Dine there at your own risk.

The restaurant felt very romantic and intimate, and it wasn't crowded at all, which made it perfect for a relaxed, cozy dinner. I ordered the lamb shank with vegetables. The lamb was tender and satisfying, and the vegetables were especially delicious. The dish could have used just a little more seasoning, but overall it was still very enjoyable. My friend ordered the lamb wings, which he didn't love he felt they were a bit tough but he didn't send them back or make a big deal about it. The restaurant itself is really cute and tucked away nicely in Fells Point. It has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your meal. I'd definitely come back again, especially for a low-key, romantic evening or a chill dinner with a friend.

Twist is a Mediterranean style restaurant that offers a BYOB brunch. They have few overpriced options for juice if you would like to make mimosas or cocktails. We ordered a pineapple juice pitcher($15) to go with our bottles we brought in. I ordered the breakfast burrito, it came with a side salad & potatoes. The food was satisfactory! Service was slow and poor. Yes it was busy, but, the amount of times we had to call for service was unacceptable. Our server brought a cooler to place our bottles in then we were forgotten about. Our server finally came and took our order with no machine or notepad. We were skeptical about our order being wrong, and SURPRISE, it was wrong. My boyfriend ordered the Twist Royale with pancakes but was brought French toast. We informed our server and Not only did he only bring ONE pancake back, he also took the French toast slice. What's the point of taking it back? It cannot be re-served so it would've gone in the trash anyway. He also never apologized for the inconvenience. -Beware of the $8 corkage fee per person for BYOB. -Parking can be rough especially on weekends. -Prices are high. We spent about $90 for two people.

We popped in right at 7 one morning before work and actually beat the server and the hostess there. The staff was friendly and mostly left us alone but for frequent coffee refills, and the food was about what I expected from a restaurant that is basically a different version of IHOP. The bacon was thick and crispy and way better quality than anticipated and the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, which is rare. The protein and buckwheat pancakes were nice surprises on the menu and were quite tasty. The neighborhood has a dearth of true weekday breakfast places, and this is a nice option. It's also huge and could easily accommodate a large crowd.
