Tasty brunch. The place gets packed and noisy and we definitely contributed to the chaos with five kids and three adults. Our waitress was patient and able to score us a booster seat for the one toddler. It's a brunch place with lots of options, including some swanky juices and smoothies. I got the seasonal Tangerine Dream which was like a delightful creamsicle - would get again. The kiddos destroyed their pancakes and eggs (Child #1 has never met a fried egg he didn't love). I enjoyed the Farmhouse Hash, which seemed like a safe bet and it didn't disappoint. Maybe next time I'll try the Market Hash, which is a little more vegetable-forward and less potato-focused. I was in the area and craving breakfast food so I decided to give First Watch a whirl. It's a local chain that boasts about fresh eggs and freshly squeezed juices. The menu is absolutely enormous and the interior lacks character and charm with uncomfortable bench seating and scarce decor. I opted for an omelette which came with pepper jack cheese, bacon, pico de gallo, and a dollop of sour cream. The description was unclear about whether it came with home fries and bread or the option of either home fries or bread. When I asked our server about this, he gave me a mixed response and seemed confused himself. I told him IF it comes with bread, I'll need the gluten free option which ended up being pretty good. My boyfriend got the blueberry pancake which he seemed to love. He also got a side of their "million dollar bacon" and "the works" omelette. There was some more confusion from our server who thought he wanted to sub the bacon in the omelette for the million dollar bacon but he ended up asking for our clarification before any mistakes were made. My omelette came out first and it was dry and overcooked. Definitely not a fluffy omelette and the half a spoonful of sour cream wasn't helping. The home fries were SO salty and that's coming from someone who has a savory palate. I couldn't finish them. My boyfriend's omelete came out and was a lighter, different color and looked a lot fluffier which makes me think mine was kept on the skillet too long. The million dollar bacon was just bacon covered in maple syrup. It was so disappointing and definitely not worth the almost $7 for 4 pieces. We had to chase our server down for our check in the end. Our meal ended up being over $50 for the two of us. Considering the quality of the food and service, I wouldn't say it was worth it. I was curious about their gluten-free and dairy-free options, and they did have gluten-free bread available -- definitely a plus. My horseradish on the side for roast beef extravagant sandwich with side of greens was missing at first, but quickly supplied when asked. So delish! Wife got the Turkey Monterey ( ?) Sammie and that was really good as well. Setting is comfy and always , always busy with hungry, happy patrons. Decaf coffee pot was hot and delish. We have avoided it due to it always being crowded (1) and mostly brekkie (2). Had a Xmas gift card and used it on a whim for lunch and will definitely be back. This isn't my first time dining at First Watch. Before today, each dining experience has been wonderful. Sadly, this experience was disappointing. From the smoked salmon omelette with competing flavors to the mediocre potato dish, I did not enjoy the food. The smoke salmon frittata includes hearts of palm, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese. Due to the delicious smoked salmon, it only needs the feta cheese. The other items interfered with the taste and texture of the dish. The million dollar potatoes, considered an upgrade, were mediocre. The cream cheese placed on top detracted from heartiness of the fried potatoes. If I were to order these dishes again, I would request the changes mentioned above for a better dining experience. The three starts are for the quick seating and good service. read more

First time at the Timonium location and it is #PickyApproved I would also visit again. Customer Service-This location was slightly busy. When I arrived no one was at the register to seat me, it took a while to get seated. Once we were seated it took 15 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink order. Our server didn't realize that somewhere was in her area, asked us if anyone had been over to take our order. We responded no and then our drink order was taken. We were given additional time to view the menu as it's been a while but, I had to flag her down when we were ready. Our server was nice and pleasant. I wish we had the opportunity to get refills for our drinks or the option to be offered something else while we waited for our meal to be served and when it was served. Overall, it was still a good experience but the attentiveness could have been better. Food-The Traditional Breakfast w/ side of Fresh Fruit I love a good breakfast; this was my first time ordering the traditional breakfast. The multi-grain bread was delicious, toasted light and perfect. it also came with breakfast potatoes with onions, scrambled eggs (I added cheese), and a plethora of options for breakfast meats, I opted for bacon (requested it to be crispy). The side of fruit came with pineapple, honeydew, and grapes which was delicious and all the fruit was sweet. My only issue was that my food wasn't piping hot when it arrived, like no steam came from the eggs or potatoes. It was lukewarm but not hot, however still good. This was my first time here. I was going to go to a "regular" restaurant but asked my niece for other options and she suggested First Watch. I was not disappointed. There was a 15-minute wait when we arrived but it seemed like we were seated sooner. You're notified by text. I treated a dear friend and she said she'll be back. I certainly will add it to my itinerary when I'm back in MD. My friend has a long list of allergies. She asked our server if there was cinnamon in the waffle batter. She immediately checked and returned with the right answer. No. She had a Belgian waffle with fruit, a side of bacon and lemonade. She enjoyed it and had no allergic reactions when I checked in with her later. I selected the Bacado Omelet. Yum!!!! Bacon, avocado and Monterey Jack topped with sour cream and a side of housemade pico de gallo is a plate of deliciousness. It comes with whole grain artisan toast and lemon dressed organic mixed greens. That was different but tasty and the strawberry preserves where mmm good. Tiffany is an amazing, attentive, polite server providing excellent service. She is an asset to First Watch. When I arrived I went to the restroom to wash my hands. There was paper on the floor so this review started with 4 stars. The food and service turned it into 5 stars by the time we left. I'm particular about cleanliness including restrooms. I was also impressed with how the utensils were wrapped and were clean when opened. Yep, I'll be back. Actually, I went online for the menu to finish with an accurate review and found there are several locations in AZ so I'll get to First Watch sooner than I think. Another yummy breakfast experience. Easily at the top of our faves list for breakfast and well worth the wait. Excited that they're building a new location in Towson because it'll be closer and could possibly cut down wait times at the Timonium location. Anyway, to start, I tried the purple haze lemonade and my husband tried the fresh grapefruit juice. Both so deliciously refreshing. The blueberry pancake was delicious but the banana almond granola crunch was wonderful. I love that the extras are cooked in the batter versus piled on top. Cooking the ingredients within boosts the flavor so much more. We also appreciated the seasoned potatoes. The potatoes were seasoned so well with thinly sliced onions. Delicious! Stopped in midday on a Wednesday. Oh my goodness, they were busy. Waited 10 minutes for a table for 1. Cool surroundings, clean environment, mediocre service by Francesca, expedited food service. I ordered a la carte side of potatoes and applewood bacon. I love their potatoes because they use onion and automatically make them well done. The bacon, nice and crisp. We went here midweek for breakfast and it was pretty empty. They have four tables outside and tons of indoor seating though it may not look like it from the outside. However, it's ICE COLD INSIDE!! We were slightly miserable sitting there waiting for menus and then silverware and then for someone to take our drink order and then to take the food order .. point being the wait staff is not so hot. Almost 30 mins of waiting for her to come get our order for coffee and hot chocolate. But we did wait it out and we ended up both getting the French toast which was delicious. Anytime I'm traveling and find a First Watch, I just have to find a way to stop in and give it a try... This has got to be my number one spot for a great breakfast and most of the time, they're on point with their execution. This particular visit to the one in Timonium on a weekday, arriving right as they opened at 0700, was AWESOME! The young girl working was very friendly and helpful with the menu. The place was very clean and had a nice vibe. The food was perfect too! These places tend to get really busy... By the time I left, it was half full already! Every time I've been to First Watch, it's been a hit or miss. Sometimes I come in and I leave disappointed, wondering why I spent that much money on a mediocre breakfast. Other times, like this past visit, I left satisfied with my meal. Overall, I give it three stars because of the iffy quality of the meals, one time it took them three tries to properly fix my friends egg, and I've had issues with service here before too. This last visit, I got the braised rib eggs Benedict, which is a special currently, and it was actually pretty good. To be on the safe side, I would recommend getting pancakes here. This is something of a combo review, as I find I had left my previous review and check-in on the wrong First Watch, and reposting them here didn't seem appropriate given how many visits I've made since writing them. So take this as a summary of my experiences. First Watch generally produces fine food, delivered nicely, in a busy atmosphere. I've had numerous dishes here, including the Elevated Egg Sandwich, a couple of the hashes, the Havarti sandwich, the traditional breakfast, the Carnitas Burrito, the Inspired Italian Omelet, the Works Omelet, and others. And of course the pancakes and a waffle. All have been tasty and filling. The service is always pleasant and reasonably quick, given that I seem to go during busy brunch hours. For quicker seating they, and I, recommend you "get in line" using the app; it may help you, although so far it hasn't done a lot for me. My two gripes in numerous visits to First Watch were these: 1) During one visit, my dining partner was served only half of her meal. We were told when it was served that we were owed another piece of bacon, but we had to ask for the toast and potatoes that should have accompanied the order. We did eventually receive all these things, but it was sort of strange. 2) On another visit the temperature was 20 degrees out, and I was told to wait outside and/or in my car until I was paged to come in and be seated. Given the 20 degree weather, this seemed like a bad customer service decision. I waited a while out front, then got in my car, then finally came back in 20-25 minutes later and asked if I could be seated, which I was. No page ever came. I think management should reconsider how to handle customer backups when it's freezing cold out, and of course make sure customers get paged when they are supposed to be. On the recent plus side, the restaurant has separated the check-in and check-out functions in the front of the house, which I think was an excellent move and should help clear some of the traffic jams that tended to form there. (At First Watch you pay at the till on the way out, not at the table.) The two negative items above are what keep this from being a 5 star review. It's fair to say that these were blips in what has generally been a series of nice experiences. First Watch in Timonium is part of my regular routine, and I recommend it for its generally excellent food and service. read more

Looking for a breakfast spot on our way home from Baltimore we decided to try First Watch off the Timonium exit. This was our first visit to this chain and at the beginning we were very impressed with the service, selection, and taste. Our server did an amazing job walking us through the menu and being attentive. I love a breakfast place that leave a pot of coffee on the table in addition to a "milk bottle" of cold water!! The menu is varied and contains unique twists on traditional favorites including healthier options. On this visit I ordered the carnitas cornbread dish. This contained carnitas meat, black beans, pico de gallo, sliced/toasted cornbread, and two poached eggs. This was delicious and the cornbread was moist even though it was toasted. My wife ordered the egg Benedict Florentine, and said it was very good! The price correlated with the portions/quality. I'm sure you're wondering why we were so pleased and only gave 3 stars (should have been two). What ruined our visit was the conditions of the rest rooms. The restaurant had only been open one hour and when my wife returned she stated they were filthy, ie. Floors dirty/sticky, no soap in any dispensers, and overall unclean. I checked out the men's RR and found similar. Dirty conditions, the lock on the stall was broken and hanging by one screw. It was very disappointing that a place that promotes itself as "Fresh and healthy" had RR facilities the condition of road side rest areas. Since it had only been open about an hour that day, this condition didn't "just happen". Like I said, great breakfast and service, but the customer usually remembers the last thing regarding their visit. read more
