Looking for a breakfast spot on our way home from Baltimore we decided to try First Watch off the Timonium exit. This was our first visit to this chain and at the beginning we were very impressed with the service, selection, and taste. Our server did an amazing job walking us through the menu and being attentive. I love a breakfast place that leave a pot of coffee on the table in addition to a "milk bottle" of cold water!! The menu is varied and contains unique twists on traditional favorites including healthier options. On this visit I ordered the carnitas cornbread dish. This contained carnitas meat, black beans, pico de gallo, sliced/toasted cornbread, and two poached eggs. This was delicious and the cornbread was moist even though it was toasted. My wife ordered the egg Benedict Florentine, and said it was very good! The price correlated with the portions/quality. I'm sure you're wondering why we were so pleased and only gave 3 stars (should have been two). What ruined our visit was the conditions of the rest rooms. The restaurant had only been open one hour and when my wife returned she stated they were filthy, ie. Floors dirty/sticky, no soap in any dispensers, and overall unclean. I checked out the men's RR and found similar. Dirty conditions, the lock on the stall was broken and hanging by one screw. It was very disappointing that a place that promotes itself as "Fresh and healthy" had RR facilities the condition of road side rest areas. Since it had only been open about an hour that day, this condition didn't "just happen". Like I said, great breakfast and service, but the customer usually remembers the last thing regarding their visit. read more

Overall this was a good visit. Our waitress was nice and welcoming. We enjoyed most of the dishes. The bacon that came with the waffles needs some work. It was overdone and dried out. The waffles were really well made and everyone really enjoyed them, however, the preserve that they are served with on the side was a miss. The shrimp and grits were horrible. Had family in town and went here for breakfast recently. Place was jam packed, But the staff was friendly and quick to clear tables and get us a seat. Split cinnamon rolls to start, very good and perfect size to start the meal off. Everyone ordered off the specials list. Cinnamon chip pancakes were a hit and so was the hash. We happened to be in the area and wanted breakfast. I did a quick search on my handy dandy Yelp Ap and found a First Watch in the area. I'm still not eating in any restaurants, due to the pandemic, so I ordered our food online. We arrived and they had the food neatly placed in a sealed bag on a to-go table. The server was extremely friendly and greeted me in a very nice manner. Funny thing is, we had to come back within a 2 hour time frame to pick up more food. Forgot about someone. Oops! Like the first time, the food was waiting for us and was sealed. Overall, the food was good, except the hash browns, they were rather salty. Not just mine, all of ours were. My ham and gruyere cheese omelette was delicious. Other than the salty home fries, we had an enjoyable meal. Since First Watch has healthier food options, you don't have to feel so guilty in eating that chocolate chip pancake, because it's multigrain. See...it balances out. read more

Food: This was my first time at "First Watch" and I can see what all the hype was about! I ordered the Lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes are GIGANTIC. They were the size of my head. The pancake itself was fluffy and just the right color but the lemon was a little overpowering for me. I still really enjoyed my meal. The bacon was also cooked very well. There were some many things on the menu I wanted to try. I will definitely be back! Service: The waitress was lovely. I have no complaints on the service. Other: The outdoor seating is nice but limited so I would recommend planning ahead especially on a weekend. The inside has such a cute design and aesthetic to it. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps. I'm a huge First Watch fan. I had my first experience in Orlando many years ago as recommended by a great friend and was so excited to find this location which my partner, his sister and I came last Saturday. This has got to be my number one spot for a great breakfast and didn't disappoint. Upon arrival, we were greeted and whisked to our table. Our server was Tiffany and made the best as she had both inside and outside to take care of. From our seats, we could see the kitchen and immediately see that this is a well run place. One of us started out with their signature juice "Morning Meditation" consisting of Fresh Juice Orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. As for food, we ordered Tri Athlete (Egg white omelet with house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chilies. Served with housemade pico de gallo, our whole grain artisan toast, all-natural house preserves and fresh fruit), Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy ( One large freshly baked buttermilk biscuit split in two with homestyle turkey sausage gravy, two cage-free eggs any style and a side of fresh, seasoned potatoes) and Ham & Gruyère Omelet (Smoked ham, Gruyere cheese and fresh herbs). Had brunch today at First Watch with my wife. The first thing I noticed is that the place was cold and cold air was blowing on us. It was rainy and 60 degrees out and the AC was blasting. We were sitting at a long table with two other pairs. The others were cold as well. I asked twice if this could be remedied and was assured both times it would be but nothing ever happened. I asked for a simple onion and mushroom omelette. The omelette was thin and clearly make on a skillet and not a pan. The onions were close to raw and tough. The mushrooms were good. An omelette should be thick, light, and fluffy but this one was thin and dense. I can understand this way of maling eggs at a hospital cafeteria but not a breakfast restaurant. The potatoes were way overly salty but the toast was pretty good. A little more butter and/or jam would have been nice as both were scant. My wife had a similar experience with another omelette. The worst part was that we asked for an omelette and not their "traditional" egg breakfast. They are identical except the omelette came without bacon or ham. But the price was exactly the same. A better waitress would have pointed this out but she did not and seemed harried and uninterested. By th way, we were offered plastic utensils in a sit down restaurant and didn't get regular utensils until we asked. The coffee was terrible per my spouse. She couldn't drink it and she is coffee dependent. Next time I'll have an Egg McMuffin at McDonalds. It would have been more satisfying. read more

We had a poor experience at first watch today. First, there's a big delay in checking in. There was only one worker who was both greeting new customers and accepting payments from exiting customers. There probably wasn't enough staff today. The second problem was one of our main courses was undercooked, raw egg white for poached eggs, so we had to send it back. I never heard of First Watch so I was excited to see what it was all about. I visited the timonium location and called ahead. They are currently doing indoor donating at 50% capacity, and no reservations needed. I visited on a Friday afternoon, it was pretty quiet inside. They do close at 2:30pm so going at 1:30pm was fine. There is lots of parking. The service was pretty good and fast, no complaints. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. They were huge! I got two of them and loved it. It wasn't too sweet and had a nice crisp to them. The million dollar bacon was amazing, a sweet touch to them. I think they live up to the hype in my opinion. They do not carry alcoholic drinks FYI. I got the purple haze which was a mix of lemonade, lavender and other things. It was really good. Overall, I really enjoyed the visit I will be going back to try other things on the menu. read more

This visit was a weekday afternoon and no wait, people were eating outside enjoying the great weather and all that seating was full. We went inside and were quickly seated with menus and drinks followed right away. When the server returned the order taken with a few modifications, this presented no problem. My husband ordered the Chicken Melt...apples, raisins, binding sauce and melted Monterey jack cheese on healthy whole grain toast, it was very tasty. This came with a side salad. He also ordered fresh fruit not realizing the price of it, about 1 cup for $4.49, ouch. I ordered the Havarti roast beef sandwich with Horseradish sauce, also came with a side salad. It was perfect! The food was delivered by another team member, this is good because it gives better service and I was pleasantly surprised when I asked for more salad dressing of the second person, the second person actually brought it out quickly. All too often if you ask for something from the person who delivers the order, it goes by the wayside and you have to re-request it. Not here. The service was very good, just attentive enough. When the waitress went to pour my coffee, hot steam/condensation sprayed on my face and shirt; although she did ask of I was okay, I think some concession should have been made. Stopped in on Friday for brunch and I must say the place was very welcoming! We were seated immediately in spite of it being a full house. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and they were amazing. The place is rustic-looking (similar to iron rooster). The menu is a good size and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the shrimp and grits which so really enjoyed. Our server seemed like she was overwhelmed; she said it was busy and that there was a lot going on (however I didn't notice the place to be super full), so it could have been something with her experience. Got seated by the hostess, after 15mins of no waiter coming to our table and we watched other people who got seated after us get attended to, we had ask every waiter that walked by if they were our table's waiter. This was my first and not last time coming to this place! It's officially my favorite place for brunch. The service, the people, the convenience in location PHENOMENAL! 10's across the board! I don't even know where to begin... 1.) The server, Jasmine, she was hilarious and very attentive to our needs. Even a set of twin servers came over to check on us right before the manager did! On a rare Saturday when I'm up, I try to experience one of the breakfast spots I have saved in my collection. Today I was lucky to choose First Watch. I knew I was in for a treat when the place was packed. The wait was minimal and I learned they have call ahead seating. This is helpful because I will be back. An excellent menu to choose from - I was torn between coffee and one of the juice bar drinks - got both. The coffee was delicious. When my current in home supply gets lower, I will definitely go back and buy a bag. I had the Purple Haze juice and I'm no FDA, but I honestly think it helped with my acid reflux (I ended ip drinking it later). On to food - they had my two favorites eggs Benedict and Avocado toast. So of course I got both. The avocado toast had plenty of - duh - avocado but nothing that made it stand out. The eggs Benedict was really good. I normally order the sauce on the side. After four years at Towson and being an avid brunch fan, I wish I had been to First Watch earlier! In my attempt to be healthy after much deliberation, I ordered a bowl with quinoa (80% quinoa), chicken, and a creamy pesto drizzle. I like quinoa but the bowl didn't have much of anything else. I swallowed my pride and tried my best to eat what I could, but after finishing the chicken and sauce, I couldn't bring myself to eat anymore. My two friends enjoyed their meals much more. My one friend ordered chocolate chip pancakes with a side of black pepper bacon - thick cut and insanely delicious- and my other friend ordered a Mexican-inspired meal (I honestly don't remember what it was) and I was impressed after trying their food. This place is quite underwhelming. I am not sure why it is so popular. The food sounds much better on the menu than it actually is. For example, my 9yr old got a Belgian waffle which sounded so fancy with the berry compote and it comes out as a plain waffle with a tiny bit of this berry compote in a container on the side. We were seated within 5 minutes thanks to the Yelp waitlist option. I added our party before arriving. I ordered the Farmhouse Skillet Hash and it was delicious. The fruit, bread, and jam was a really nice "sweet treat" alongside my main meal. My boyfriend ordered the Tri-Fecta with a chocolate chip pancake, and our friend ordered the BLT Eggs Benedict. We were all very happy with our meals! The million dollar bacon was delicious, but I don't know if we'll be ordering again for $5/4 strips of bacon. Stopped in after getting my car serviced for some breakfast. It was not crowded (at first) so I stayed and my mom joined me. I ordered the trifecta, mom ordered the French toast. Our food came quick which was good as it got crowded fast. No wait or anything just more people then I've been used to being around. The staff had on masks and they do have outside seating that will be nice on a warmer day. The kale tonic didn't taste like fresh pressed juice, not that's how its advertised just what my taste buds wanted. I could have breakfast all day it's a bummer they close so early. We were here a couple times, and the menu is interesting. We were happy to see that they have fresh vegetable juices, so planned to eat here every day of our trip. . .or at least take out the juice. They are good, but a little unbalanced. The Kale Tonic is pretty heavy on the apples and the Day Glow is heavy on the lemon. The Morning Meditation is fruity and sweet like fruit punch, with beet juice as its star. Not quite like a juice bar, but at least they're trying. The first visit I got the Tri-Athlete, which was good and light, and my boyfriend got a skillet hash, which was so hearty he couldn't finish. But both our eggs came out ice cold. I don't mean a little bit, but very cold, and eggs are just awful when they're not hot. My friend usually waits for things to cool off to room temperature, but even he couldn't eat that. So they replaced both items with hot food, and the manager graciously same over to apologize and offer our breakfast for free. We went back a second day. We were there for a trade show, and we like to eat a big breakfast to hold us through the day, as we can't get away to eat until the show closes. This is the first time it's ever cost us $45 for breakfast! We were pretty stunned. Service is not so great. Both days I asked for my toast unbuttered, but got it buttered anyway. As I wasn't expecting butter, when I picked it up to put the jam on and held it in the palm of my hand, I found the bottom side had been buttered, so had butter all over my hand!
