Homemade Fried Pickles

We came back because the food was awesome. They weren't too busy, but I'm sure it was because of the freezing cold. But the service was honestly horrible. We were sat past the kitchen window where a few staff members all hung out on their phones. Our server finally came over to get our drink orders, and we asked for a couple minutes to decide. The server did not come back over for well over 15 minutes, and I tried to get his attention but he avoided contact and just kept checking his phone. Him taking our food order was the last time we saw him until after we were done with our food. Our app came out and then the burgers right after. Again the food is amazing, and for the first time we got the frappes. The holy cannoli was amazing. The place has a great vibe, and kept really clean. I totally suggest this place for the food. I'm hoping that the service was just a fluke for the night.

Beautiful fall day. Sit outside and watch all the music students walking to class. The Buffalo burger. Melted blue cheese on top and smothered with franks hot sauce. The burger is big, and the sauce will drip down your arm. Home made crunchy chips. And the Boston beans are wonderful. Overall a solid burger and awesome place to be.

Gluten free Sophia

Service was great! I got a gluten free bun on my burger, which I was glad they had! Unfortunately, it was fairly dry and crumbled. The moisture that was in my burger was quickly soaked up into the bun leaving an unpleasant dry burger with hints of balsamic and great flavors pulling through. I'm fairly certain that Hamilton, our server noticed that I was not eating and asked but I declined to elaborate as I was honestly happy to find did I could eat and he was so helpful! I was warned of cross contamination of fries (I appreciated that heads up) and accepted that risk as long as they were not battered or coated; unfortunately upon arrival, they were coated. Hubby really enjoyed his burger and the shakes looked incredible! The chips were really good!! I was sad that the beans were what I'll remember Boston Beans as, I'll make my own back in Arizona...

Killer Bee
Hillary L.

We accidentally showed up before they even opened (classic us), but instead of shooing us away they let us sit inside with ice-cold water. MVP move. Service was solid the whole meal -- just took a little longer to cash out at the end. I got the Killer Bee burger and wow... it was messy, sweet, spicy, crunchy, cheesy -- basically everything you want in a burger. And yes, I actually finished it. My son made his own creation loaded with veggies and demolished the whole thing too. The only heartbreak? No room left for one of their outrageous Freakfrappes. They looked ridiculous in the best way. Next time, I'm starting with dessert.

Kids Mac & Cheese Bites

I brought my kids to BBCo after a trip to the MFA. There was something for everyone, which was perfect. My kids liked their meals although my son wasn't crazy about the cheese in the Mac & cheese bites. Not sure what they used, but they weren't his favorite. The other kids meals - the grilled cheese and cheeseburger were good, zero complaints. And all the kids liked the chips. The chicken caprese sandwich was excellent! The flavors melded well together and the chicken was juicy. It usually comes with chips but I declined them. We had to round out with one of the giant frappes. The kids devoured it in about 30 seconds. I managed to get a sip and a taste, and can confirm that it tastes as good as it looked. My only complaint about the whole lunch was that service is slow. It was two hours from sit down to leaving and we could've done it in an hour easily. Our waiter was incredibly busy, working the bar seating and tables - I can't fault him. I'm not sure if it's staffing, but the guy could have used some help.

I have never had anything bad here. Sadly I usually eat it all before remembering to take photos. The only think I haven't tried is the massive sundaes but I'm sure if you have a sweet tooth it's good. Every time I go to Boston I try to figure out a way to bring this home.

Wicked Hot Burger
Sean P.

I'll start by saying that the service was terrible. Our waitress took a long time for every single thing and was standing around chitchatting most of the time. There were only about 3 tables with people, so when you are waiting 10 minutes to order, it's a bit frustrating. However, the food was very good. The garlic parm fries were solid, and the Wicked Hot burger was right up my alley with great flavor! I'd highly recommend it, and it's not overly spicy for those who might worry. This is probably more like a 3.5-star due to the service being so bad, but I'll still keep it as a 4 on here (due to limitations) because the burger was overall really good.

Walked in around 9:50 PM and it was honestly the perfect time--no line, not too crowded, just a chill vibe right from the start. Since it's also a bar, I expected to get ID'd, but we didn't. Parking was super easy too, which is always a plus. The place itself is small and cozy, with cool little details and decorations that make it feel welcoming. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming--music playing, people chatting, just a really nice energy all around. It's also wheelchair accessible, which I appreciated noticing. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar, but we went with a booth instead. The main reason I came was because I heard about their $3 burgers from 10 PM-12 AM. The only catch is that each person has to purchase a $3.50 beverage--fair enough. So we ordered two Pepsis and two burgers to start. Our food came out in about 15 minutes. Literally 10 seconds after we finished, our server checked in, and we ended up ordering four more burgers (yes, they were that good). Those came out super fast--about 5 minutes later. The burgers are simple: potato bread, a single patty, sauce, pickles, and onions. We both got no onions, and my boyfriend asked about adding bacon, but they said no. The late-night menu is pretty minimal, but their regular burger prices are $8 for a single, $10 for a double, and $13 for a triple. In total, we paid $26 and tipped $4. As for the food: simple but really satisfying. After three burgers, I was definitely full. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and slightly pink--just how I like it. My boyfriend rated it a 7/10 (3/5), and I'd give it an 8/10 (3.5/5). The staff was super friendly. She asked if it was our first time and if we had any questions, which felt welcoming without being overbearing. One thing I actually liked? She didn't interrupt us while we were eating to ask how the food was. Some people prefer that check-in, but I personally enjoyed the uninterrupted experience. Only small downside: no straws were given. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Honestly, for about $10, you can get a drink ($3.50) and two burgers ($6), which in this economy is kind of amazing. Because of that value alone, it almost feels like a 5/5. Overall: great service, great vibes, and simple, tasty food at a really good price. Definitely worth checking out for a late-night bite.

Buffalo Chicken Mac
Grace V.

My friend and I came here last night for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. This was my first time coming. We split fried pickles which were out of this world! The cheese sauce that came with it was awesome. The buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese I had was outstanding. It was spicy but not too spicy. Our waiter was great and the food came out quickly. The music playing was great and there were cool decorations on the walls. I will definitely come back to this place!

I loved the BYOB. Mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese, and tons of other delicious options to make your dream burger! The patty was cooked perfectly. The homemade chips were good, I just wish they were seasoned. I was disappointed with the milkshake. I don't understand how you can justify paying the dine-in price for a milkshake, when you get just the milkshake for take out and delivery orders - no dramatic effects (toppings) including. It was a rip off. Otherwise, the milkshake was OK. The food is great, but I don't think they'll receive return business from me.

This was featured in Dinners Dive-in's and Dives back in 2012. The cooked beef patties are juicy and served on toasted buns. There are lots of selections from classic cheeseburgers to adventurous burgers like with Mac! You can have cheesy favorites like garlic-parm fries, or mozzarella sticks. The servers are helpful in making suggestions and the restaurant has a nice trendy feel. We ordered the Boston Burger Smashed, Boneless Wings, Mac Attack Burger, and Garlic Parm Fries. The food was fresh and hot but the flavors were just ok.

Merica Burger
Rovingaile P.

Really enjoyed the Merica Burger! The patties were juicy and the sauce paired really well with the toasted buns and pickles. Would come back for this! Cheese fries were just okay. The sauce reminded me of nacho cheese haha.

Looking at going at 5pm on Saturday before the 7pm Red Sox/Yankees game. Do you think the wait will be long?

Do they do reservation?

Yeah kinda. Add name in advance of visit to wait list via website.

How long is the wait on a Saturday night around 5:00 p.m.?

Use the Yelp waitlist! We went on a Saturday night and I believe the wait was about 45 minutes but with the Yelp waitlist, we didn't wait long at the restaurant.

Is it gluten free?

There are gluten free options. I believe you can get the burgers wrapped in lettuce if you want also.

It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff).
