I made an excellent purchase today thanks to two sales associates named Wes and John who made my Western Boot dreams come true! A few years ago, I bought a pair of Olsenboye (Generic) Cowboy Boots from JC Penney because I just wanted something cute to wear when I went out line dancing. When I bought these boots in 2012, I never realized how much I was going to fall in love with the look and feel of boots with skirts, dresses, jeans and shorts. I now wear my cowboy boots for way more than just dancing, and they are always ready to go! After dancing this past weekend, I decided that my boots had a good run and four years later, it's time to upgrade! I started perusing boots online and fell in love with a pair of Shyanne's on the Boot Barn website. Hesitant to purchase the boots online (I sadly have a wider calf than most girls and have a hard time finding boots that fit) I decided I was going to hold off and go in store to try on the boots! Boy am I glad I did because the size available online, did not even fit over my big toe (yea, yea, big exaggeration). When I walked in to this location yesterday, 08/31/2016 I was assisted by John who showed me where these boots were and recommended trying a half size up if the boots in my size were snug. This recommendation helped since I'm usually discouraged when I don't like the fit of something and I walk out without making a purchase. With that said, I took John at his word (cuz he was so nice!) and tried on the 8.5, which fit perfectly (a little snug, but he said that they will stretch after a couple of days). I was about ready to hit the cash register when I realized that I forgot a gift card that I was given at home, and I did not want to purchase them without utilizing the gift card. They had a sale going on too, so I figured I would just go home, purchase the boots online in the 8.5 and use the gift card and not miss out on the sale since it ended yesterday. Once I returned to the office I checked out the online inventory again and as luck would have it (bad luck that is :-( ), these boots were not available in an 8.5 online. I was super sad, until I called this location to discuss my options. I was assisted by Wes, who was just as nice as John was. I could have gone to a different store to get the boots in an 8.5 ( the san dimas location is near my neck of the woods, but it would have been closed by the time I got home to get the gift card. Plus they did not have the boots in an 8.5). I explained my dilemma to Wes and he said that as a courtesy he would put the boots that I loved on hold and would honor the sale price until today, 09/01/2016. I went in today, I was assisted by Wes, I picked up my new boots and I was out in less than 15 minutes! I would definitely return to this store because it was awesome, and Wes and John made it that much better! Thanks guys for making me a happy girl! read more

First off the selection of boots for a large size building called boot barn wasn't that great. Less than 1/3 of the place is actually boots. Most of it is western wear clothing like jeans and shirts you can find anywhere. I was disappointed with Boot Barn. I wanted to buy a pair of boots for a friend and it took me 15 minutes to get someone to help me. After walking around trying to get help I ended up walking to the register and asking the counter girl for help. The girl that did finally help was pretty short with me and although I bought a pair of boots, I wasn't really happy with them. I will look somewhere else next time. Some people say the prices are great but you get what you pay for. Their "cheaper" $200-$300 boots are just that cheap low quality boots. read more

I really love this store and the immense selection that is provided. Their clothing selection is great. Pauline the sales person is awesome! I've also been to the Boot Barn in Lake Forest. This company has a lot going for it which could be made exponentially better if they provided training regarding customer service and focus on the customer experience. I don't know if this is company culture or what but since I've been several times I want to share. Now they seem to have enough help but I find it unusual that in all cases I was not asked if I needed help. I needed help since I'm a novice cowgirl. The checkout line process is very slow. I had 2 people ahead of me and waited 15 minutes. Is it the software they are using perhaps being a bit laborious...I'm just not sure why it takes so long. I had to approach someone and ask them for help. All employee interactions have been professional and pleasant. They call out a greeting when you enter But Geez people connect with the customer who is wandering aimlessly throughout your store. I know western wear is a bit of niche and maybe it's viewed as anyone coming in knows what they are looking for. I didn't and I would have appreciated the invitation to help with lout having to track down a person and ask. read more

I needed some sweet kicks for my country line dancing excursions, so I headed straight in to Boot Barn to see what they had to offer. For the whole western look, this place can't be beat. What I like about this location is Billy, the wizened old shopkeeper. He will set you straight if you are about to make a terrible choice, and will keep you lookin' sharp with all your western apparel needs. Yee haw! read more

I come to this place a lot. Mostly at their other location because it's closer to my house. Everyone is always friendly, quick to help. Love walking in the door and getting that strong smell of country. Best thing is they can order anything you want, if they don't have it in stock. I will be back, lots more. read more

This is one of the best Boot Barns around, in my opinion. It has great service and a staff that is willing to help (although, after a long day, the staff over at the Boot Barn in Los Alamitos is more cheery). The prices are great. The best part about this Boot Barn is that they honor the discount tickets up to six months after the original purchase. So, if you have old tickets, don't toss them. I went in last night with my wife to purchase a pair of boots for her. My wife has always raved about Boot Barn, and we went into pick out a pair of boots for her Christmas gift. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and lady at the counter. The experience was pleasant until we asked one of the associates for help finding a size. Her name was Evelyn. First off, she walked right past us and didn't acknowledge us, or ask if we needed assistance. Then was given attitude when I asked her if she could help us find a size 8 for my wife. Her response was, "whatever we have out here is what we have, sorry" that was fine, but it was her rude tone that started the issue. My wife looked at me surprised and we then proceeded to shop. A few minutes later we asked Evelyn again if maybe she could help us find them at another store. Her response was, "I'm sorry but I'm really busy right now and it would be easier if you googled some other stores so you don't have to wait" I was in shock at this point that she would turn down a customer. I know that they can look up items at different stores and call for us as well. We were so offended by her attitude and lack of support that we walked out. I was gifted a pair of boots when my grandfather died. They had not been treated in at least 5 years and were definitely dry and starting to crack. They are exotic and not leather no one in my family could remember what it was. I'm new to California an know zero boot repair places or western stores. I took my boots with me they were able to tell me what material they were, treated my boots, and showed me what to buy and how to do it. The prices are actually really affordable and they had a good selection (a bit chaotic but good selection, could use a bigger location). The service was great, definitely made a lifelong customer with me! read more

I went into this location the other day and I must say at first I really liked it. I loved how organized the store was and the variety of product. But the reason I am only giving it 2 stars is because of what I witnessed while shopping. I noticed, who I assumed as the manager, completely belittling her employees and at one point she was blatantly giving a customer attitude. I have worked in customer service for 10 years and have had my fair share of awful managers....and I felt for them. And seeing her treat a customer that way put me off completely. I had a few items picked out that I was going to purchase....but felt extremely uncomfortable so I left. Paula and Anna really changed my mind about the Boot Barn in Orange! I was so bummed after my first experience there (was given inaccurate shopping hours, wasn't helped with my boot shopping). I recently moved from Tennessee to California and of course since I'm from Tennessee I had to show off my style to all the California woman to represent my state. Ok. Ran in on Sunday morning and bought a pair of Ariat hiking boots (ladies). Also 2 pair socks. Thought the price was a little high, so when I got home I checked the price on Boot Barn's web-site. Was very surprised to see the EXACT same style priced 110.00 cheaper on the web! Turned my not so happy self around and returned EVERYTHING to the store. Told them why I brought them back and the weak excuse I was handed, was they were 'mis-marked'. No 'We can adjust the price for you', or anything. Just straight up returned them! Ordered off the web-site and sure enough, even with a more expensive pair of socks included it was still $110.00 cheaper! Worst customer service ever! We walked in and didn't even get a "hello, welcome" or anything just a look. I asked about the Black Friday 20% off wondering if they would honor it today on Wednesday on a $130 jacket I wanted to get my boyfriend, and the "manager" said no with an attitude and said "it's not even Thursday yet." Was in just browsing around and found the perfect pair of Justin boots that fit both my feet as well as my budget. Dave came along and had some very good tips and advised and suggested I should try on both boots and walk around for a few minutes. Can't say I found the boots, the right pair found me. Staff was very helpful and kind, answered all my questions and made my purchase a very pleasurable experience. Poor customer service. The sales associates were too involved with their own conversations to provide any help. When I finally interrupted their conversation to ask about a certain boot, the first person didn't know anything, and the second associate who answered my question was short and somewhat unfriendly, like she didn't want to be there. Later on I decided to go with a boot I liked with a few other things. I stood at the register with no one there for a good while. One associate was in plain site and kinda just ignored I was there. This is a little smaller than other Boot Barn's I've visited, but it's still chock full of western essentials. For example, I wanted a basic brown tooled leather belt, and there it was waiting for me. Not a great selection of skirts and dresses, but those can be hard to find in western stores. The boot selection was pretty conservative when I was there over the weekend - reflecting the Orange County clientele? Apparently people in my hometown pretty much only wear brown or black boots; still there's a great selection of those, as you'd expect, and the staff was friendly. read more

Disappointed at this location. My wife and I came in so that she could look at boots. No help, suggestions, or anything. From the staff. They said, "hi" when we entered and showed my wife where the socks were when she asked so she could try on boots but then left to the counter and never end checked back. I ordered a pair of Lucchese boots for a Christmas present for my husband. He loved them, put them on and about an hour into wearing them, noticed there was a hole in the ostrich skin on the top of the foot. We have called Boot Barn repeatedly and they keep saying they will send us a return label within 48 hours via email and we have yet to receive it. This is a $500 pair of boots and this is NOT the way we expect to be treated. It would appear that they are selling defective merchandise for full price. We will continue to pursue our refund. NEVER AGAIN will we buy from them and I would caution others purchasing online to go somewhere else! read more

I love boot barn, and this location is awesome. It is always well-stocked, and all of the boot barn employees I've ever encountered have been friendly and competent. I wanted to compliment Kristen in particular because always helps me in a knowledgeable way, with a smile, and last time, she went above and beyond to help me with some online problems were had been having for hours. She patiently took what seemed like 30-60 minutes out of her day to call the main office and some other locations to help me figure out my problem.
