Quite possibly the worst customer service I've experienced at a retail store. The women's apparel section is fairly small and spread out so it is difficult to find anything. I wandered around for nearly an hour trying to find something to wear to an upcoming event. I was not acknowledged once, and truly was in need of some styling support. Once I made my way to the register I saw two interactions that really made me certain this staff is rude and disrespectful. The first customer tried to return something, was turned away and the two people at the register started to talk loudly and negatively about him. The second one had a similar situation with the two girls behind the register making snide remarks about the customer that had just left. Unfortunately I'll be back as I don't know of any other western wear stores in this area, but trust me, I don't want to come back to where associates are unfriendly and unhelpful. Every time I go to Boot Barn, specifically this location, I'm always impressed with the employees. They know everything there is to know about boots. I came in over the weekend for a specific pair of Thorogood work boots in mind, and as I was trying them on, the girl working there told me about the difference in leather between my boots and the other brands, and recommended mink oil to help with the break in process. If I remember right, she also helped me out when I bought my ariat cowboy boots and Cody James hat years ago. The cowboy at the register mentioned how popular these boots are, due to the quality and the fact that they are made in the USA. Places like this make me proud to be a blue collar worker! I'd rather work with the Boot Barn folks than employees at Men's Warehouse any day! read more

Racist owner. I came with my husband who is African American on opening weekend and felt like the entire store was questioning why were in there. Nothing new living in Orange County and that's not the issue. The issue is that we purchased a pair of $150 work boots online. After wearing them one time, he realized they were too tight and most likely wouldn't stretch to be comfortable. I began the return process online and was emailed the return slip to print. When arriving at the store with my husband we were told by several "managers" that they couldn't help us and we needed to wait for the owner. No one came back to us to let us know what was going on so after waiting for 10 minutes in the store, uncomfortable from all the racist judgement all stares, we got in the long line to wait to be helped. Finally we got in front of someone who could help us, the owner. She laughed in our faces and asked why would we wear the shoes and expect to be able to return them. My husband was very understanding and explained himself yet she continued to be rude and dismissive. She said "tell you what. If you buy another pair I'll give you 15% off". What a joke! I will never shop here or support an establishment that laughs in customers faces. With so many other businesses being customer focused like Nordstrom why would we support a place like boot barn? They have a large variety of boots but wow Paulina is the worst. I went to this boot barn to exchange a pair of boots I purchased online for the SAME pair just different size. Paulina insisted that I need to pay about $65 more. I even showed her the Boot Barn website and said NO without an explanation. She's so rude and dismissive I ended up leaving without any boots. I returned the boots and purchased the correct size online. Keep in mind it was only 1/2 bigger and it "couldn't be done." read more

I found myself walking into Boot Barn after having to sell my brand new Thorogood boots on "offer up" because i bought them online and had no idea they run big in size... I should've just came here before going online.. Boot Barn is well stocked with work boots.. Being a union plumber, i need a comfortable boot and tough enough for the daily beatings.. Had questions on brands and sizing, and Parker helped me with all my questions.. Great Customer service, from the sales floor to ringing me up, even reminded me that "union discounts" are given here.. How awesome is that!!! Loved our experience here, spent a lot of money as well! We were assisted by Sydney, which was a wonderful sales associate that was extremely knowledgeable about the product in which she was selling. We came here this past weekend to look around for a pair of cowgirl boots and a pair of work boots for my boyfriend. I was given a chance to look around at the boots in the women's section before i had someone breathing down my neck which i really appreciated, although i had no idea what i was looking for i got to look at a couple on my foot and get a idea of what i liked. Then once Sydney walked over i was so relieved, she asked where i was planning on wearing the boots and how often, she insisted on knowing this so she could help find the perfect boot. She then informed me of all my options and the comfort of each style of boot. Then after i told her what i was thinking i liked the most, she selected all the boots in my size, in which she felt would be a perfect match for my requirements, i was no obligated to try every single one on. She then walked around the corner and allowed me to decided which brand and style i liked the most. I was then stuck between two pairs of boots, she insisted that i walk around and get a feel for each one and then decided. Once i had made up my mind, i placed both boots on my feet and i felt like a country Cinderella. ;] I then walked over to the men's section (in my boots) and found Cameron with a couple pairs of boots he was contemplating on. Sydney helped with finding us the right pair of socks for the boots in which we were purchasing and gave us information on how to care for the leather of our boots. Cameron then made up his mind and we ended up purchasing a pair Ariat work boots and pair of Dan Post Country Cowgirl boots, Boot Barn Leather Care and Cleaner and 2 packs of Wolverine Boot Socks. The only reason i did not give this store a 5/5 rating was because i wish they would carry more country women wear that was more for younger women, especially around Stagecoach season. Such as country festival wear rather then just plaid button ups and rhinestones shirts. I can't thank you guys enough though for bring me together with my Pan Post Boots. This place has a great selection of boots I must say, but their employees are too pushy and in your face. It is nice to be asked if we need help but to offer your unwanted opinion and help every 10 seconds is just irritating. It comes across as though they are working on commission even though I have heard they aren't.. There must be some perk for sales.. ALSO: I found it very irritating that when I bought my boots they could not give me the matching box. I bought very expensive $500 "old gringo" boots and they gave me a Justin's box and said they gave away all the old gringo boxes to everyone else. So they just give them to people who don't buy them so they can look like they did?? Ridiculous!! I will have these boots for the rest of my life and I want the box to go with them! read more

We have visited several Boot Barn locations and this one is quite "small and messy". We had a very difficult time finding a pair of Georgia boots and needed to go to the customer service and seek out some assistance. A young male came over and helped us out. He was extremely helpful and very pleasant. He stayed with us through different size changes and make sure everything was perfect. Once done, he walked us to the register and rang the purchase. The four star experience was solely because of him and him alone. If we were helped by someone else and didn't get the same assistance, this review would've gone much differently. Thanks be given to the young man; I wish we knew his name. Second pair of boots purchased from this store. We like the store off Las Vegas Blvd better though. read more

I was looking for a pair of size 12 Narrow cowboy boots. You would think a place called Boot Barn would carry at least one pair of any brand of boots in that size. It took a long time for anyone to wait on me, and I was told I would have to order a pair in my probable size and then burn gas to come back and try them on. I was expecting this store that specializes in boots to have at least one brand of boot in my size, and they didn't. Of course, there wasn't anyone there who knows how to measure feet. However I noticed, every time I moved around a worker was "folding" clothes in each section I was at. I went today to get working boots with my cousin. And they had very bad customer service. I felt stereotype for my race. They made it seem like we didn't have money to purchase any work boots. When we asked them a question they stated they will ask someone else to help and never came back to help. When other customer walked in they where greeted with respect and asked if they needed help. This needs to be addressed. If you cannot greet everyone with respect you shouldn't be working here regardless of your race. I have probably only left 2 reviews in my 28 years, but I felt so compelled to do so after this experience, so here I am. I walked into Boot Barn in Orange to return a pair of boots that I purchased at the Los Alamitos location (which has about 1/4 of the selection the Orange location does) that didn't fit right. I walked in, started looking around and grabbed a pair and sat down and tried em' on. Spenser walks up, greets me like a gentleman, and immediately went to work for me. He taught me some things I wish I would've known the first time I went in looking for my first pair of Western boots. He started by asking me what size I had bought the first time, and what size I was currently trying on (10.5 D Cody James) . He was so fired up to show me a couple cool pairs that he thought I'd like. This dude even knew what sizes in different brands to show me that would fit my foot shape perfectly. I typically wear an 11 shoe and work boot, so when he grabbed me a 9, I was thinking "Boy he must be crazy", sure as heck, they fit near perfect. I took em home, wore the socks that I like wearing in my boots, and realized that they were just a tad tight in the toe. Not to worry for me, I called the store, asked to speak to Spenser and had him pull me a .5 size bigger, and leave them at the front for me. 3rd time was a charm, I came back in, picked his brain a little more between the 9.5 D's and then 10 D's, and at the end of the day, I've never felt better about a purchase. I went with the American made Tony Lamas. Spenser is a class act, and knows boots inside and out. I hope he's there the next time I go in for a fancier pair or different style. I needed work boots, and my last pair of Red Wings fell apart on me with little overall use (though I did have them for a while), so I was not going to give them a shot. I headed here since it was very convenient for my office, and they had a good selection of boots and brands in a lot of sizes. I had my choice of few brands and ended up picking between a pair of Timberlands. It worked out great, the prices were reasonable, and they had what I needed in stock. I'll be back in 2 to 4 years when I need another pair of steel toe work boots. read more

I came here after Christmas because I was gifted some boots that didn't fit me. A young woman helped me initially and gave me a random shoe to Tryon and told me that my boots needed to be stretched but once they were stretched you can't return them and after being stretched two times they still didn't fit me and it kind of screwed me. I came in today to pick up my boots for the second time and they still didn't fit I was kind of sad and Leslie helped me beyond wanders. She gave me some boot socks and had me look for a pair that were similar to the ones I was given and did the exchange for the new pair of boots against the stretch and return policy and I couldn't be happier. She understood how I was feeling and did everything possible to help me out and I really appreciate her. I'm so happy with my purchase and I thank her so much read more

Garret is amazing! We can in yesterday to get work boots for my other half and he say with us and assisted us while he tried on multiple pairs of boots and informed us about boot trees to help with the fit. Well my other half is so up in the air about boots that we ended up coming back and getting and exchange the boots for timberland pros and we kept the boot trees. Garret assisted us again and he really took his time and answered questions we had about the different work boots lt was a great experience! I will gladly come back to this store if garret is working. I will say the 2 young lady's working the front desk were not as professional and didn't help us. This is an amazing store. Every employee I have interacted with has been wonderfully pleasant. The service here is phenomenal, and there is never any judgment or pressure to buy a thing. I have gotten my ol' hat shaped here by Dave a time or two, and he always gets it spot on. Anyone accusing this store of racism needs to take a long look in the mirror and realize that they are the ones who are creating a crutch to justify their sour attitude. This is like a YEE HAW, RIDE EM COWBOY kinda boot store. I was able to pick up a wife beater that said, "all these clowns and no rodeo?" Sweet. Billy is quite the salesman here and I highly suggest talking to him. HUGE selection of cowboy boots, some uggs, and various cowboy paraphernalia.
