They even sell skeins of yarn that I've bought for my crochet class! Blick offers a student discount. This past weekend, I took advantage of their Fall sale and online coupon. Theeennnnnn, the girl who completely stumbled when telling me where the restrooms were, was also the cashier at the moment of my checking out. My daughter pointed at a Highland cow plushie, and a worker who was standing around the shelf suddenly said, "That's twenty dollars." I hadn't asked how much it was, wasn't looking at the price, and honestly wasn't even having an interaction with her. The comment caught me off guard and made me feel like I was being judged based on whether I could afford it. My daughter ended up choosing a Precious Moments plushie instead. As I was walking toward the checkout behind my friend, the same employee, while she was checking out another customer, said to me, "Are you going to pay for that?" Obviously I was walking toward the cashier because I intended to pay for it. The way it was said felt extremely rude and made me feel like I was being treated as though I was trying to steal something. What really disappointed me was that I came in happy, with my daughter, simply wanting to browse and enjoy some time together. I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. There are respectful ways to assist customers or ask questions without making them feel watched, judged, or suspected of something. I understand employees have a job to do, but customer service and the way you speak to people matter. I hope management addresses this because no customer should leave a store feeling embarrassed or unwelcome when they haven't done anything wrong. This was around 4 pm. Thursday, August 27th.

We were fortunate to get Cathy/Kathy on the phone and she looked on the floor first, but then took the extra step to climb on a ladder to find exactly what we were looking for, all while we waited on the phone. They had a few of them in a box stacked up high, and she just made it happen for us. We totally appreciated her taking the extra step and putting them on hold for us. We drove over to the store, they were waiting in a cart for us, we ended up spending a few hundred dollars at this location because of her willingness to be helpful and take the extra step.
