Alright.... most Michaels' that I go into, I dont expect much except a long wait to check out and probably no one to help when I have a question. Today, neither happened, but it was still not a pleasant experience. As I walked in, I asked an employee if they had a restroom and for the location. When she answered, she hesitated and pointed to the back right corner, "back, right corner". Okay, cool, I headed straight back there and there was a sign "currently closed", for both men's and women's (I totally would lock the door in the men's just to pee if it was open). I did come in to buy a few things, so I grabbed what I needed and as I head to the check out, an "older" (probably 50's) male employee was walking sideways and backward toward me. I stopped walking, as we were going to collide. I said, "hi, excuse me" as he got within a couple inches of bumping me. He didn't apologize or anything, just kept on doing whatever task he was doing with nothing in his hands nor a cart with merch to put back... idk, maybe I'm just a b*+c#?? Theeennnnnn, the girl who completely stumbled when telling me where the restrooms were, was also the cashier at the moment of my checking out. I gently told her the restrooms were both closed and she replied with, "yea, ok, but I told you where they were." Yea, you did. I won't fault you there, missy. Then, I said, "I asked where it was because I need to use it", with a reply of "oh, sorry ‍". Always a good story about the decency and helpfulness of your employees, Michaels. Thanks!! At least I have someone nee in my day to shake my head at.... oh, P.S. pricing is blah here, being more on the higher side for cheap products. Good thing I only came in for stickers and construction paper. read more

With a coupon they are more competitive so be on the lookout for those. This one offers a framing shop too and they do a great job that looks professional. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I would like to make a formal complaint regarding my curbside pickup experience at the Michaels store located on Katella Avenue in Orange, California. On Friday, June 19, at approximately 1:45 PM, I arrived to pick up a curbside order that had been marked as fulfilled earlier in the week. My confirmation and reminder emails indicated that four items were included in my order. However, when my order was brought out to my vehicle, I received only three of the four items. I attempted to contact the store by phone three separate times but was unable to reach anyone. Eventually, I called the Framing Department and spoke with Marianne. I explained that my curbside order was incomplete and that I had been unable to reach anyone for assistance. Marianne was very kind, came out promptly, and genuinely tried to help resolve the situation. She took one of my items back inside to investigate the issue and attempt to complete the order. Shortly afterward, Jesse came out to my vehicle and informed me that the store did not have enough inventory to fulfill the missing item. I explained that I had never received any email notification, cancellation notice, or refund indicating that part of my order could not be fulfilled. In fact, I had received reminder emails instructing me to pick up my order, and those emails continued to show all four items as fulfilled. Unfortunately, Jesse's response was rude, dismissive, and argumentative. Rather than acknowledging the confusion or apologizing for the inconvenience, Jesse continued to argue the point and took no accountability for the situation. As our conversation ended, she walked away shaking her head, clearly frustrated with me. I found this behavior unprofessional and disappointing. It was evident that either a system error occurred or the order was not properly updated to notify me that one of the items was unavailable. Regardless of the cause, customers should be informed when an order cannot be fully fulfilled, especially when the order status and pickup reminders indicate otherwise. As someone who had worked in restaurant and customer service industries for more than seven years and has operated a business for the last ten years, I understand the challenges that come with staffing shortages and high-pressure situations. However, those circumstances do not excuse discourteous treatment of customers. While I understand the store may have been short-staffed, there is no reason for an employee to speak to a customer in such an unkind and confrontational manner. I live in Anaheim and specifically traveled to this location because it had the items I needed. I chose curbside pickup because I had a sleeping baby in the car. Had that not been the case, I would have gone inside to address the issue directly. I am truly disappointed by the level of customer service I experienced at this Michaels location. I hope Michaels will review this incident and provide additional coaching and training regarding customer interactions, particularly during stressful situations when employees may be feeling overwhelmed. Asked where the birthday decorations were, the employee was like "well what do u see in this aisle" pointing at an aisle where there were seemingly only bday cups and plates. I responded "cups and plates" he said "no look in the aisle", lo and behold there were more decorations there but I could do without the sass. Wtv. SECONDLY, WHY DOES EVERY SINGLE MICHAELS SUCK SO BAD AT INFLATING BALLOONS? Given the party city shortage I've had to start going to Michael's and it has never been a smooth experience. Idk if they don't train their staff to do this task, or what but every time no matter what location they always struggle so bad. We waited 45 minutes the first time and another 30 minutes the second time, so it's not a unique experience. Love coming here for their Cricut supplies. They have 1.5 aisles of Cricut goods. Today I found another brand with great quality/design HTV (Make Market). There are tons of craft supplies here, paints, you name it! The workers here are busy with curbside or pickup orders. Checkout looks so different now. It's all self checkout. I didn't know this at first. I was standing in the usual line and no cashier called me to their lane. That's when I noticed the self checkouts on the far left (one was out of order). The first one I went to wouldn't ring up my items correctly, so a worker told me to go to another one. Overall, they have a wonderful selection of all crafting needs. I processed an online pick up order for some tee shirts for a Tye Dye day at school. My pick up order was ready when I arrived but I saw that one item was unavailable and that they would reimburse me. Not a problem. It happens. The issue I had that I was not reimbursed after 2 weeks and then when I called, the manager said I had to physically go there and I do not live in that city. It was for a 5 dollar item. When I said I could go to the Santa Ana one or Irvine, I was told it was not within district. So I had to wait for when I was in that area. If you order online, double check the receipt and a reimbursement is needed, do not leave unless you plan to come back. read more

I brought in a large commissioned painting for framing around 11:30 a.m. today. The employees at the custom framing counter didn't acknowledge me, and they made me wait, standing at the counter for 20+ minutes, until I finally had to walk out. A solitary employee had been helping a customer at the counter while two other employees just TALKED in the back room. I appeared around the corner so the chatty employees could see that I was waiting, but that did no good. Eventually the two employees emerged in time to take their lunch breaks. This was no small job I needed done. The work had been quoted earlier at the same Michael's store for $871. Now my time and the previous time Michael's spent with me choosing frame styles is wasted, because I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm really disappointed with how this store is run. Usually I appreciate the easy accessibility and reliance of decent products from all Michaels stores but I was so sorely disappointed recently when picking up an online order. I had order three packs of simple card stock for upcoming holiday crafting- black, white and cream. But then as I began opening the cream colored card stock at home and I just came to the sad realization that the packages had already been opened! I'm so disappointed in the quality of this product. Although I can't say this is my favorite Michael's location, this store does have a good selection of art supplies, holiday items, and scrapbooking supplies. I hadn't been to this store in years. When I stopped by here the other day, I was happy to find everything I needed. My stepdaughter had her baby over five weeks ago, and I wanted to stock her up on all the cutest scrapbooking items for her adorable baby girl and my sweet grandbaby! This place was so crowded, and the cashier seemed overwhelmed. I think they were just really understaffed, and that make the employees seem unfriendly. Hubsters is a artist and the 50% off coupon saves him a load of cash. It is not the best place for supplies but with the coupon it is. My teacher discount saves me on classroom materials. Lots of seasonal collage materials, stickers, crafty parent pleasing gifts, ect. Loads of baking pans, cake decorating stuff, candies for melting and molding. With classes to teach you how to do it. First, Michael's is a store that you would never find me in. Alas, a promise is a promise. I had promised the little one some new beads and elastic string to make bracelets and necklaces for her little friend. The store was cluttered. I suppose a larger space might help that. It reminded me of the Pic N Save (aka Big Lots) on Tustin with heavier prices. The store is dated and the bathrooms were old and kind of grossed me out. My daughter said it smelled terrible. They keep them locked but they opened them for us right away. There is some gang writing carved into the toilet seat which, again, grosses me out. I also wonder what kind of freak finds a need to grab a dirty old toilet seat and put his own craft marks in it. Staff was friendly. They have a cupcake class here for little kids! Anyways, selection was OK but pricey. I thought the kids items were extremely dated. I bought string and letter beads, Honestly, Toys R Us has way better craft sets for little girls at about half the cost. Just a dad's opinion for little girl items at this store. read more

Honestly, I can't really complain about this Michaels, especially when considering its last sister store was all the way in Rowland Heights. Which also closed down when it become more of an Asian central. :/ Anyways, I feel this Michaels is at a much better location with much better parking. The shopping center is more spread out and possibly a bit more lively, though that may be due to the In N Out and other food options (Chipotle, El Pollo Loco, etc.). Inside Michaels, the aisles are also pretty spread out so that you don't feel claustrophobic. It also seems quite big compared to other Michaels, though the high ceilings probably help in that aspect. Prices are okay. I never come here without one of the weekly coupons, which will at least save you either 40% one regular-priced item, or perhaps 25% entire purchase (restrictions apply, of course). Definitely check on their website on your phone, as they can scan your phones if you have a coupon displayed. If your phone's screen is cracked, then you may be crap out of luck. Huge frame section. I wish their paper craft section was a bit bigger, but perhaps it's a dying art. Service has been good. I see customers bring in their pets, which i'm not completely thrilled about. I love dogs, but there's waaaay too much glass shards on the floor, especially Christmas-time. If you love your dogs, please keep them at home or have them wear shoes. Or, if you have a crappy-behaved pup, then perhaps leave the pup at home to avoid any issues at store. All of my crafting needs have been met here, though, so props for that! read more

The manager here is so incompetent it's almost impressive. The item I wanted to purchase was on the app for half the price as what it was ringing up for in the store. Rather than allowing me to either purchase it online and take it home (as I would for curbside pickup anyway-and not have to return the following day) or honor the online price, the manager would not honor the price, nor did she seem to have any clue how curbside pickup works. What a complete and annoying inconvenience- some people have no common sense or courtesy. read more

I appreciate this particular Michaels because they always stay up to date with their stock and aren't afraid to put things that aren't selling in the discount/blowout aisle, therefore giving them more room to stock items that do sell in those areas. read more
