I am not a crafter. Never have been, never will be. I have the patience of a 2 year old that has to go potty. Twenty three seconds. That's it. So, this is not a place I would usually come. However, I have to say that when I am looking for cute little gifts (that require nothing from me), I can get distracted and actually lose track of time. They usually have their bins full of $1 goodies, and the kid's stuff is actually fun. And it always made a big hit with my grandnieces and nephew. And I am sure their mom, my niece, loved having more little things that create clutter. To me that is sweet revenge for all the times I had to clean up after she visited our house as a kid. And my daughter is Miss Crafty herself. Go figure. I know she didn't get it from me! I go into this Michael's every time I do any crafting or baking or painting... I do a bit of everything. I've always been greeted by someone, and appreciate that when I ask for help, someone will personally have me follow them to the item I'm looking for. One day there was a customer who was belligerent about having to wear a mask- she used vulgar language and had the entire store listening. The manager handled the situation professionally and was kind to the customer all while being yelled at. Kudos to the manager; it took quite a lot of patience in that situation! read more

One fine day I was trying to match my outfit with my necklace and surprise surprise broke 2 necklaces in the process, so I decided to wear a pashmina (frustrations of a broke fashionista) in the meanwhile it woke up my jeweller spirit ( I used to fix, mix and max etc all my necklaces) In search of tools and pieces I ended up going to Michaels. They have many tools (fine pliers) to fix small stuff , beads if you became creative and want to add, and so many more things. Not only for jewelry but also for many many types of handcrafts. The prices are a bit high if you compare them with the ones of internet but I rather see and touch, I don't like surprises (bad ones at least no) The access to the store is quite easy and there is plenty of parking. I love their framing department! Since Aaron Brothers closed I've been using Michael's to frame my paintings. There's a really nice young man in there who is super artistic and very helpful in picking mats and frames for me. He's a joy to work with. All 3 of my frames have been wonderful! I just walked in this store right now. I came to get slime and permanent markers for my daughter. My daughter was testing a marker on the scribble area and in a very rude way Debbie a sales associate told my daughter to stop writing there. My daughter just made a small line to test the color. The scribble area has all kinds of scribbles and graffiti including an innapropriate word that my daughter saw. I was about 5 feet away from my daughter and she could've easily told me or just tell her in a nice way. Debbie was the sales associate that was very rude. I think that's very unprofessional of her to not just only talk to a 9 year old the way she did but to have said not to write on the scribble area. It makes no sense to me because I'm sure they have that area to test the pens and markers. Definitely not going back to that michaels. I'd rather drive far for better customer service. read more

I had a bad experience today. I went into the store to buy face paint. I looked everywhere in the store and I could not find anyone that could help me find the items. I went up to the register and i asked if I could be directed to the right locations. The person at the register was not in a good mood, and just pointed at a general area. As the holiday seasons come to a close, almost everything in the store is 25% off, 50% off, 60% off, even 70% off. But the Asian in me is waiting for things to go down even more in price. So I can fill my garage with more Christmas decorations I'll never use. Other shoppers are hounding the deals and loading their carts with Santa hats, wrapping paper, Wilton candies, and double-sided tape. Those shopping carts are working overtime. Two registers open and the lines are long. But nobody's angry or shouting, everybody's nice, for the most part. Especially the cashiers. I called in to reserve 30 wooden blocks (strange request, I know) and even though I accidentally, unintentionally! gave the employee wrong information, she was still able to help me. I came to the store and when I got to the register, I told the employee I had called in to reserve the blocks and bam! She had the blocks at her register! Thank you, Delia! Easy peazy. There are always coupons so don't buy unless you have an applicable coupon loaded on your phone. 40%/50% regular-priced items are common. read more

Organized and well stocked. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of where everything in the store is located. Parking is plenty in front of the store since it's located in a strip mall. I love Michaels but the location of this store makes it so hectic and impossible to find parking. The lot is so small because it shares its parking with all the stores in the plaza. The lanes are very short and are technically made for two directions of traffic but since it's so small it's impossible to have two cars go through each lane. The store itself is very small too and not much of variety inside. If I need something quick, I will drive to this one since it's so close. Also each aisle is small too and if there is a sale it's impossible to take a cart through each aisle because of the heavy foot traffic. The workers are great and helpful but it's too small of a store for me. But, Michaels is still my go to store for arts and crafts. read more

This Michaels is great! I was really impressed that employees were actively upholding the mask mandate, making sure every customer was wearing a mask correctly over their mouth AND nose. It made me feel safe and valued in the store. Everyone was constantly sanitizing surfaces to ensure everything was clean! I like that if you feel you can not wear a mask you can order online and have your purchase brought out to the car to you. And a big thumbs up to Stephanie and Heidi for being outstanding employees helping me find cute Halloween decorations. Even got to use a coupon that knocked 10 dollars off my purchase. read more

Michaels is filled with great crafty items and lots of fun decor!! If I'm going to make something and think of items I might need I right away think of Michaels!! Definitely one of my favorite sections is the scrapbooking!! They have so many options to make your book extra special and cool. This location is pretty big and organized but lacks customer service. There aren't employees asking if you need help with anything and on multiple occasions when I've asked for help the associate seems bothered and is unfriendly. A bonus with Michael's is you can usually find coupons online or get some thru email or mail. They have 40% off one item or 20% off the sale which are both really good. This Michaels is pretty average. They have all the crafty items you need, just not that much customer service. This is the closest arts and crafts store near my house besides the Joann's down the street. I've always loved coming here because the prices are usually semi reasonable and they have a good selection of paper and add on crafts to make my homemade cards I do for special occasions. What I don't like is every time I've been here and I see a confused customer, there are never employees around. If so, they just walk past everyone when it is clearly obvious a customer needs help. This place deserves three stars for usually having everything you need in stock and having great crafts and decorations for every holiday. This place would be bumped up at least a star over even two if the worked on their customer service skills a little more. I understand that this place is packed with those decorative scrapbook mom's or kids in need for supplies for a school project but instead of two people doing their job, all employees should work together to make both theirs and the customers experience easier. read more

I am BEYOND blown away how rudely I was treated when trying to return items at this location. I was unfortunate enough to be helped by Debbie. I had receipts for my return but had removed the stickers that were on the back of the items. (I still had the stickers present upon my return though). Debbie asked, "Why did you remove the stickers before seeing if you liked the item?" My reply, "I did like the item. However, when I arranged them on my island in the kitchen, they were much larger than I thought and took up too much room." Debbie sighed and shook her head as she was processing the return. The look on my face said it all. Worst customer service I have ever received and the worst part is her name badge showed her title as manager! Are you kidding me? Whoever promoted her should really reconsider. She practically threw my receipts on the counter when she was done and forced herself to say "have a good day." I did everything to bite my tongue and just walk out since there were other customers in line. However, I am so surprised by the lack of professionalism she displayed that I felt the absolute urge to post this review. I have to walk all over the store looking for someone to help me out. Maybe after five minutes tracking an employee down... They always try to get rid of me. So they ain't getting my money. The Michaels that I go to regularly is in the Savi Ranch marketplace in Yorba Linda. Now, the employees are friendly and helpful there. ...but if you want to be in an Arts & Crafts store that's triple the size of Michaels - go to Tall Mouse (there's one in Yorba Linda). I am a baker and crafter; therefore, I go to Michaels on the regular basis each month. I come to this branch often just because they are down the street from where I live. The staffs here are overall friendly, but lack of experience of crafting or baking. If you need help for anything, you will find a better answer from your smart phone (go on internet immediately) rather than getting helpful tips from the staffs. Most of them don't even do any crafting or baking, so that makes sense that they could never answer your questions. Talking about the experience I had today. So I went to there for exchange. As usual, I was waiting in the long line at the casher. They have some V-day decoration blocking the view at Cashier #3, I could not see the light and I thought I heard the guy at the cashier was calling, so I went straight to the cashier. As soon as I got there, I saw the customer was still there paying. Immediately, I was about to turn to the cashier next door, but I saw the lady behind me was already there, so I just told myself it's ok, just to wait for a little bits, not like I need to be somewhere after. As soon as the customer walked away, I stepped to Cashier 3. The guy was looking at me and asked me "did you see the long line over there?" I answered "yes, I was just there. I am actually in front of the lady in purple at Cashier 2. The reason why I was here because I thought you were calling, but when I got here I knew that I must misheard you were calling. And it's too late for me to go to the Cashier 2 since the lady behind me was already there." The guy looked at me very impolitely and thought I was lying to him. So I told him I wanted to exchange the stuff I bought and handed him the item I wanted. He looked at me like whatever and asked me if I had my driver license, I said yes and handed it to him. He THREW my license back to me on the desk. So he gave me back the money and thought that he was done (because he probably didn't pay attention to I wanted to EXCHANGE!). So I told him I wanted this item. And just happened that there is another lady behind me. So the guy was telling her I was about to close up; and told her I didn't know she (which means me) will take so long. I was already pissed about his attitude and mistreatment. So I paid the exact amount of the item I bought and asked him for a coupon for next week (if you are a regular, you know that the staff usually will put the coupon in the bag for you). He was rudely asked me WHAT!? I told him and pointed to the coupon "I want the coupon for next week." Then he gave it to me. I walked out and about to drive home, and returned back to the store and talked to the manager. I usually will suck it up, but could not today due to the very rude treatment of this staff. Too bad I didn't get a chance to get his name. But I figured there is no too many guy working at the store, the manager will figure that out. The manager was nice and apologized to me the whole time. I understand economy is tough and I tried not to say anything, but this guy just got me. Sorry, whatever your name is. You deserve to have a talk with your manager. Ordered 6 large frames online for pickup in store. Got home and saw that one of the frames was (a) not in any wrapping/packaging, (b) broken in one corner, and (c) dirty on the inside and outside of the acrylic. What a pain. Okay, so there's never anyone to help you, but they're always crazy stocked with supplies, and even when the line for checkout goes to the back of the store - they move through it speedily. Tonight I walked away with a cart 4x the amount of what I thought I was going to spend because I kept running into Halloween crafts with displays of everything you needed to buy to make them - I think I need a parent with me when I shop here! :p I take 2 stars away because there's a Michaels in Monrovia near my boyfriend where there's employees for days - so I know Michaels has the capability of hiring more people. Feeling Crafty? Then this isn't the place to go! After getting shafted by another store, I went to Michael's hoping they had what I needed. They didn't. I asked for some specific items and their staff drew blank stares and questionable recommendations. I have been to other locations and it felt warm and welcome. Here, it seemed more of a cluster**** of a mess. Things appeared cluttered and hard to navigate through and the aisles were not well labeled that someone can get lost in the abyss of nothingness. Not too impressed with the store as a whole, and their prices seemed to be a bit on the high side as well as their poor selection. If i were to go to a craft store, it would not be here. I don't shop anywhere else for my art supplies! From paints, to canvases to frames and scrapbook paper,etc, I always get my random art supplies from Michaels. They often have deals on frames and canvases, which is good for me, because with all the painting that I do, it can get pricy to keep purchasing new frames all the time. It's easy to find someone to help if I'm looking for something specific. Guess how much Michaels is selling foam Tri-fold display board 36x48? $16 !!! It's foam ....it was stacked with the cardboard trifold displays, which cost about $3 at Walmart. There wasn't any price sticker on these black trifold foamboard so I thought it probably about $5. NOT !!! read more

It's been over three years since my last review. Lots has happened. I have given up scrap booking and such and now am an avid crochet - er. I've been going to JoAnnes and Walmart for my yarn when I decided to give Michaels a try. I hadn't been in years. What a pleasant surprise. They have a much better selection of yarn than either Joannes or Walmart. The prices were much better than some of the specialty yarn shops I've checked out. I still say that their scrap booking section looks a bit thin and the fake flower section DOMINATES the store. But they now are my first stop when I need some yarn so that makes me want to bump up my first star rating of 3+ years ago. Also, I've never had any problem with the staff. They have all been very nice. I will say that there are not very many of them tho. read more
