I placed an order with a girl at the cash register, she was already not friendly. I asked if she can place an order for shoes because they didn't have the size I needed in store. I told her multiple times what size I needed and she ordered me a size 11 when I needed a men's 9. When I asked her for a tracking number she told me to just check my email when I wanted a paper receipt. There are now no stores that have size I need and online is sold out. read more

I never write reviews, but felt this one was a must. From the second my sons and I walked into the store, we were greeted by Brian. This was the first time we had been in a zumiez store, so we had no idea where things were or how the clothing was supposed to fit. Brian was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the brands and fit of the clothing in the store, which made us feel comfortable and excited to shop. While Brian was helping other customers Ethan and Remy would help us find sizes or look for items online for us. They always made us feel important by checking in with us, talking with us, and making sure the fit was right. At the end the check out process was easy and done carefully to ensure our online and in person orders were done correctly. It is refreshing to see that there are still employees that have exemplary customer service and great personalities. read more

I love this place. They always have a huge selection of clothes and basically anything you can think of. Windbreakers, jeans, long-sleeves, trendy bucket hats, fanny packs, etc. The customer service is great too and there is always someone greeting you as you walk in and asking you what you're looking for. The only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars is because it's a little expensive than what I prefer. You can get cheaper clothes at Pacsun. But overall, it's a great store! read more

Went to this store yesterday 12/19, wasn't as busy as I thought it would be for the weekend before Xmas thankfully. I was returning an item that I bought the day before (found it cheaper on Amazon) and accidentally brought only the gift receipt with me but thought it should suffice. The associate explained that I'd only get an exchange or store credit. I proceeded to ask why if that is a gift receipt that should reflect the transaction? She said it doesn't show how it was paid UNLESS you have one of the store accounts related to your phone number and she could look it up. At this point it wasn't about the refund to me but if I had purchased this gift cash, given this gift to someone and they wanted to return it then they should be able to get the cash for it, plain and simple. Nonetheless, she was able to locate the account and fully refund me the amount. That whole gift receipt scam is something I'll report to their corporate. In addition, as I was waiting in line just observing the other associate Randy was yelling across the store to another associate (again it wasn't busy) to grab a pair of shoes for a customer. His yelling (to no exaggeration it was loud yelling) was back and forth like "yeah can you grab blah blah blah" "look it up if you want first" "yeah just find out if it's in stock". Just so inappropriate to be doing. All while not wearing his mask it was hanging by the side of his ear to spread those yelling germs. It just gave the store a ghetto vibe, I had intended to stay and shop a bit after my return but for obvious reasons I didn't. read more

Top notch service!! Employees went above and beyond during the busy holiday shopping season to help a Mom out and make sure she was picking some stylish things out for her son! One item had to be shipped...the wrong item unfortunately was shipped (NOT THE BREA LOCATIONS FAULT) however when I returned to the store to get the problem fixed these employees again went above and beyond and went out of their way to make sure things were more than fixed. Compared to all the other skateboarding shoe stores, Zumiez by far has the coolest name and best overall store image. Everything looks all messy and dis-organized, but in a clean and orderly manner. I guess they're going after the "rebel without a clue" teenagers and hipsters that likes to skate, surf, or snowboard. Located in between the Gap and H&M (on the 1st floor) inside the Brea Mall, this store has a comfy couch located in the back, next to their skateboards. Dressing rooms are in the rear, towards the right side. As you walk in, there's Women's gear on the left and Men's styles to the right. Caps, shirts, sunglasses, accessories, and all sorts of stuff are scrambled throughout the store. When I visit these stores, the first thing I check out is the shoe section. Why? Cause researchers at the University of Kansas say that people can accurately judge 90% of a person's personality, simply by looking at their shoes. I try to judge the store's persona using the same logic here. You don't think so? Anyways, I found this nice pair of red Stefan Janoski skating shoes, but they didn't have my size. I'm sure he could have offered this to any other customer as well but you'd be surprised how many retail folks simply don't think or don't offer because it's more work for them. I noticed he had a Chicago Cubs logo tattooed on his left forearm. Gosh, I hope that they win the World Series one day. But, only after my Dodgers do. All in all, a very good shopping experience. The shoes are going to be shipped to me in about 3 business days and I left like a happy camper. REALLY annoyed at this point ive called so many zumiez and went to return stuff and they were closed even though they updated their yelp and had said they were open everyday generally from around 12-7 but some days they may open late but I went in person and they were completely closed with lights off and gates closed with no signage as to why. I called the other day they were open and some days they pick up others they wont same with the other zumiez store they may or may not pick up the phone and I went in person and they were closed. All these zumiez are just picking random days to be closed. I hate driving all th e way over for a specific store just to find out it's closed. Moral of the story call before you go just to make sure they are open. Or update your hours so people know when you're closed read more

My little cousin and I were shopping there around 5pm she picked up some scrunchies and decided she didn't want them so she placed them down by the jeans then an associate by the name of Celine or Selena approached her and told her she saw her put the scrunchies in her pocket then my little cousin showed her where she placed it and she apologized. All the employees are sooo nice to me, they are willing to look things up for me and help me out with deals and what not. I have shopped here before, and I have never had a complaint or a negative feel to the shopping experience. I always feel comfortable, mainly because of the way its employees treat me. How they are all so friendly and kind. I got a 35$ New World pair of jeans, a 60$ pair of white Emerica H&K signature labeling jeans, three brand name skateboarding shirts (which are generally each 20$), ALL FOR 80$ plus tax. I went here yesterday with my boyfriend for some new clothes for him, we don't normally shop here but wanted to check it out. We were blown away by the very helpful cashier. She helped us get into the dressing room, pick out sizes, introduce us to items, and rung us up while doing the same for all the other customers all by herself. I recently received a gift card to Zumiez so on Black Friday I decided I should use it. This store is known for being pricey but as long as I had a gift card I saw no harm. When I arrived I received immediate notice from the workers with a friendly greeting. The staff was extremely helpful when they looked and retrieved the clothes I was looking for. Although it was crowded I still felt noticed and was helped. There was a wide variety of stylish clothes and shoes. It would be a very good shop to shop at for Christmas for teens. The sales are recommended and could possibly get a pretty good deal. I was satisfied with my purchase even though there was a wide variety. I was visiting one of my good friends and she wanted me to try on some clothes at this place in the Brea Mall since she said it was my style. We walked in and everything seemed fine until we asked some asian girl, I'd say about 18-21 years old, if they had a certain brand in my size. Horrible customer service, again. I bought 4 items online and one of the items arrived at my home with the security tag. This happened at Christmas when 3 of my items arrived with the same security tags. I had to go to the mall on Christmas Eve when it was nearly impossible to find a parking spot. I didn't even get so much as an apology. Last night when I went with my one item, the girl that helped me looked annoyed that I had even bothered her. I can't remember the last time I've been so happy with a store employee during my Christmas shopping escapades until I stopped by the Brea Mall Zumiez location. The store employee's name is on the tip of my tongue & for some reason I can't remember it. Anyway, he's a tall white guy, with a little bit of stubble for a beard, plugs, & a buzz cut. I think he was some sort of manager because he had the confidence and knowledge of one (and I think he had a tag on that said 'manager'). Haha! Anyway, I stopped by here to do some Christmas shopping over the weekend (bad idea). The mall was crazy during the early hours! After finally locating a parking spot at Mickey 5A, I trekked through the crowds to Zumiez. The nameless employee quickly greeted me with a smile and asked me how my day went. I had my Christmas list out so I was a bit distracted & rudely replied, "Fine". He noticed my list & asked if he could help me out. I told him I was fine even though I wasn't because I had no idea what I was going to buy. I also didn't want him to turn into a sales monster & hound me about buying the newest expensive thing that was 'just released' and everyone had to have. He took the hint & politely left me alone until he had noticed the sad look on my face because the sale prices were crap & there was no way I was going to be able to afford more than 1 person's gift in that store. The nameless employee then told me about the $25 snowboarding packages they sold that came w/ a t-shirt, full year subscription to snowboarding magazine, bear mtn lift ticket, free monster energy drinks, etc. I was sooo thrilled that I snatched 3 of them!! My purchases didn't really put a dent in my list but it sure helps me look like the most creative person ever when it comes to gift giving because I'm obviously going to repackage the gifts so I can put my own creative spin on it & give it the Shelly C. stamp of approval. LoL I ended up running into him again at Ski Dazzle this past weekend & he remembered me! After saying hello, he quickly told me to check out the bonded fleece jackets that were on sale 2 for $60!! I really prefer this location when I come to Zumiez! The employees are always super friendly and helpful. They have tons of skateboards, trucks, wheels, and stickers. They have really sick clothing including T-shirts, boardshorts, hats, hoodies, and beanies. The thing I like about Zumiez is their huge shoe selection, particularly in the Nike section. The have a significantly bigger selection of Nike SB shoes than other stores like Tilly's or Famous Footwear! They also have a pretty big selection of snowboarding gear like boards, boots, bindings, helmets, goggles, face-masks, jackets, pants, and more. The snowboarding section also has some of the best brands like Burton, Volcom, Thirtytwo, Neff, DC, Dragon, Red, and more. They also have great deals. I highly recommend Zumiez in the Brea Mall for anyone who is into skateboarding or snowboarding!! read more
