When shopping for gifts for my friends, I frequently visit this store due to its impressive selection of collectibles and clothing featuring various characters. They also carry a variety of mugs and plates. Although I am pleased with their overall product range, I am disappointed that they no longer offer dog clothing, and I hope they will reinstate this product line. We managed to find several Funko figures at reasonable prices. The customer service is consistently exceptional, and the store is clean and tidy. read more

This store is located on the western side of Brea Mall, very close to Nordstrom. This is a great store if you're a shopper that want to touch or see the product in person before making a purchase. They sell a lot of cool entertainment merchandise from your favorite TV shows, anime, manga, etc. I usually only come here to pick up an online order that I had opted to have shipped here. The employees that I've encountered have always been nice, friendly, and helpful. read more

I shopped here several times prior to the Pandemic because a Nordstrom counter clerk told me they sold Friends' TV Show Merch here which they actually did. I'm hoping this branch didn't discontinue Friends' TV show Merch like Ontario Mills' did but the Ontario branch only carry Disney Merch now. I found Lots of Friends' TV Show souvenirs ranging from mini bagpacks, to T-Shirts before I switched off shopping via Amazon.Com during the entire Pandemic. I would return here again for more Friends' TV Show Merch in the future!!!! read more

This is one of my favorite shops in the Brea Mall. Anytime we're in the mall, my spouse and I almost always stop in to check out all the cool merchandise. They have stuff for many fandoms: Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Naruto, Ninja Turtles, Lord of the Rings, and more. The content of their collection changes over time, so sometimes you'll see a lot of Spider-man stuff, and sometimes not. Right now, they have a growing collection of Funko Pop and Loungefly backpacks. The staff here are usually very friendly and helpful. One additonal aspect I like about this company is that for every $10 you spend, one meal is sourced on behalf of local food banks. read more

Date of visit: October 28, 2018 Just like the ampm slogan: TOO MUCH GOOD STUFF! The best way I can describe BoxLunch would be this: just like Spencer's or Hot Topic, minus the naughty stuff... and a lot more Disney merchandise. We'd seen quite a bit of Disney fans showing off their limited edition purchases from this chain, so my lady and I went to check it out while at Brea Mall. BoxLunch carries just about any and all things pop culture related (besides Disney) - Marvel, Funko Pops, Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars... you name it, they probably have it! And with the prices (especially with their BOGOs under $10), you can EASILY go over your budget! For example, I picked up three Stitch patches, a Nightmare Before Christmas pen, two pins, some Japanese snacks, and a Mega Man blind box figurine for a little over $40 - I may have gone a bit overboard with my purchases. But wow, all those items on display made my head spin (in a good way)! Also, something to consider - part of your purchase price goes towards supporting food banks in the area, so while you're spending away, know that it's going towards a good cause. It's a good thing San Diego doesn't have a BoxLunch location (yet), because I can easily see myself get carried away here! I've been to a couple of different pop culture shops in my day but this particular one has made me pretty giddy just thinking about it.Let me explain. This shop carries exclusive merchandise that no one else carries because of their partnership with Disney and other companies.So if you're into Game of Thrones,Supernatural and Star Wars just to name a few,there is a bunch of cool collectibles and a whole mess of intricate pieces for your collection.I personally picked up a Boba Fett carry on and fresh looking Dj dinner plate that I won't use but will keep as a collectible.The staff is really knowledgeable about the merchandise and they get really geeked out when you talk shop about their interests. This is a shop I will be checking into every month because of the customer service and dope merchandise.One can also sign up for email alerts to keep up with new exclusives,I know I will.Peace read more

A fun store with unique items plus a percentage of sales go toward buying meals at food banks. I stumbled upon this store while at the Brea Mall and began browsing through the various sections devoted to Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and numerous other cult television shows and movies. Most of the items are shirts but they have various toys and knick knacks as well. Then I spied the shelves of Studio Ghibli items and got a little geeky. They had stuff for Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. I ended up buying a cute little basket with the black cat from Kiki. The friendly staff here were fantastic. One woman (Vanessa) spent time with me explaining their charity work and the in-store special offers. She was very personable and had a thorough knowledge of every item in the store. If you are looking for a special gift or enjoy pop culture or just feel like geeking out, stop in and have fun. read more

Let your freak flag fly! I expected to see Sheldon and Leonard taking a break from the comic book store to hang out here. It's kind of thinkgeek.com without the .com. If you're a Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman, Superman, Marvel, Comic, Sci-Fi, Superhero fan, you won't want to leave this store when your friends beg you to leave because they want to go to Pottery Barn. But they have even more! Lotion? They got it! Stocking stuffers, or possibly white elephant gifts (man cave in a box anyone?), this is you're place to shop!! I sent my boyfriend for pickup items I ordered online. I received an email that 1 out of my 3 items were ready. I asked my boyfriend to inquire about the other 2 items bc it had been a week already. Brandy was super cool and nice with him. In their system she wasn't sure why the other 2 items were still showing in processing but she went ahead to immediately have them ready. On top of that she looked up the type of online discount I used, and offered my boyfriend a better discount they currently had in store. At home I checked my items and oh my gosh, the way the t shirts were folded and tucked in, it was super cute! Why didn't I ever think to fold my shirts this way!? I'm actually excited to start folding my stuff this way. And thank you for treating my items with care. It's such a simple caring way about their service that goes a long way with me. read more

Went to this boxlunch and had the worst experience. JOEY had the worst customer service. Went there for a new drop and had asked for something behind the counter. Joey decided to skip ahead to the person behind me and sell the last of that item to that person. I was very confused and told him repeatedly that I had already asked for that item. He said that he had more. After he was done helping her he came back to the register that I had already been at and told me that they had no more. I was in disbelief. I'm guessing that this item was actually for him or it was his friend... there was no explanation for his actions. Worst customer service and experience that I had ever had at a boxlunch. Like most places, they have a lot more stuff on their website, so don't really expect what you're looking for to be there. Also it's a very VERY tiny and cramped store that can get easily packed, but you can't blame them; so are most stores in the mall. Me and my husband are loyal customers, my husband tried to enter the store with an ear looped neck gator, which by law, is considered a proper face covering hence the loops on the ears, and was told to wear a face mask. By law this is a proper face covering, and he should not have been turned away. I am extremely disappointed with this. His neck gaitor had the appropriate loops for approval that your company refused. As coming from the medical field, that work with severe health issues in patients and letting visitors in, we let people in our facilities with a face covering (bandanas/cloth masks/neck gators/surgical mask/etc.) period. Such a cute shop. Found out about BoxLunch after hubby and I had gone down to Irvine Spectrum and saw the BoxLunch over there. It felt that this one was a little bigger, but it had the exact same idea: you'll find something for anyone in your life! Well, anyone with a sense of humor, anyways. Marvel, Star Wars, Nightmare Before Christmas, Disney, anime, Totoro, TV show items (Walking Dead, Friends, Firefly, etc.)...there is a lot of stuff here. Clearance items are towards the back. Really cute pendant necklaces, too, either with stones, something simple, something a bit ornate, etc. Like I said, something for everyone. Prices are okay. If it's something that likely was imported, there will definitely be a higher price. Staff was absolutely excellent, though. Very helpful, wasn't bugged by my questions or wants to look into their back inventory. Got my stuff, hubby paid for it, and we were on our way! This store has everything a fan boy or fan girl would love. From Funko Pops to t-shirts and buttons, to action figures and room decorations, this place sells lots of cool items that serve as really awesome gifts for your self or for a loved one. The service here is really good too. For example, staff will always ask if you need help finding anything and most of them are fans of the stuff they sell in the store too--- so they are really cool to chat to. If you have a big Star Wars display in your window, you've already got my attention. While stopping in to do some holiday shopping, we passed this new store inside the Brea Mall and had no idea what to expect. When we walked in, it was a geeky dream come true as the retailer offers a variety of comic book, superhero, pop culture and horror icon merchandise for sale. It's like a combo of Hot Topic and Urban Outfitters, but with a charitable component attached. Every $10 you spend at the store, they pay for a meal to someone in need. I like that. The staff was friendly without being in your face trying to sell you something. I also liked that it wasn't super cramped, so you could peruse all the cool merch without stepping on top of another person in the process. I hope this place does well as they carry both unique items and stuff you can find at other stores. But again, the charitable aspect tugs the heartstrings for me and will make me consider them for my one-off holiday purchases now and special occasion ones in the future. Good job! read more

Worst experience ever. Walking in was cool no one bothered to help and the whole time the coworkers are bitching about another co worker named Alyssa talking about how she doesn't do this calls out all the time why me being a customer even know someone's name and their business what is that? And it gets better as I'm being rung up not understanding this whole bogo free deal I look at my receipt and noticed I am charged for both clearance items which doesn't make sense if it's buy one get one free so I walk back the girl in the front let's me know "how it works" and as I turn around I let her know to let the two people in the front not to talk to each other about work drama because as am I getting rung up the woman ringing me up doesn't ring me up for two minutes because she had to get her last snarky comments were "I can't wait to get out of work and omg alyssa continues to complain more" they were waiting to go home already pre closing the store with an hour left and customers still inside and preoccupied with talking shit and going home. ALSO you really shouldn't be complaining about your coworker so loudly that I can hear you over the music well pretty much the whole store. So unprofessional trust me I have ten years of customer service under my belt and as soon as a customer walks up you shut your mouth and you engage or you be quiet and make simple talk not ignore the customer and bitch and bitch about how much Alyssa sucks. This is for the Brea Mall location. I found a cool shirt. Bought it. Walked around the mall, went to Hot Topic and saw the EXACT same shirt for way cheaper! I told the cashier at Hot Topic and she said they were the SAME COMPANY! Why not price match or have the same prices then?! I returned my shirt at Box Lunch.
