When you step into a store there's two things you expect off the bat, #2 if the item you're looking for is in stock and #1 at least for me customer service. You're shopping experience becomes a totally different experience if you experience excellent customer service as oppose to crappy customer serivice and I've experienced both. Prior to my review I have to preface it with my last visit to the Brea Mall 3 months prior. I came to the mall with the hopes to find shoes that fit well and support my flat-feet. I have mild Plantar Fasciitis and finding the right shoe can be quite tricky. For years I had been getting all my shoes at Converse (thinking no support was the best for my circumstances) and my visits were short. I knew what isle to go to and what size I needed. The biggest part of my choice was the color. Anywho. Fast forward to my visit to the Brea Mall in July of 2023. I went to Journey's, Foot Locker, and The Finish Line inside of Macy's. Each visit was HORRIBLE. Little to no customer service. I had to go and ask for help or shoes to try on. Asking about the shoes got me shoulder shrugs and "I don't know" answers. So my recent visit (September 20th, 20223) was a shocker! I came in with the very low expectation of sub par customer service. My first was visit was at The Finish Line, since that was where I found my most recent pair of shoes. Fortunately, the shoe I wanted was no longer in stock and the customer service was a tad better than the previous but nothing to warrant my business. Subsequently I walked into Shoe Palace which happened to be adjacent to my exit. I went in apprehensively thinking my experience would be anything less than desirable. Immediately, I was greeted with a huge smiling face and help was offered. "Ana" (Anayeli), would be my hero for the evening. I told her I was looking for something that had little arch support and something that wasn't too narrow. Off like a canon, she spouted out a suggestion and walked me over to the shoe wall. She pointed out 3 types and I asked if I could try on 2 of the 3. There she went again, like a bolt of lighting! She raced back and handed me the shoes to try. With the right amount of timing she came back and checked on me. I told her I was just curious to see how the 3rd shoe option felt. POOF! She was gone and back in an instant with the shoe. From now on Shoe Palace has my business going forward! I might be a little spoiled with Ana's super great customer service and hustle. Can I call and ask for her prior to my visit? HAHAHA. ... but seriously though, can I? Shoe Palace! You have a rockstar on your hands, commend her to the highest praise! read more

This evening my family and I had the best interactions with 2 employees named Freddie and George. We were greeted as we walked in. We were asked if needed any help to just let them know. I had just left another Shoe Palace in Montebello and had a horrible experience. The store manager that was on duty apologized several times for the experience we had just endured at the other store. I had a great experience at Shoe Palace. My foster son and I came in yesterday in the evening to get shoes. He could not figure out what shoes to get. We were there for a bit. Each staff member came up to us with a patient and helpful spirit. I could not get him to choose shoes. He just couldn't decide and then Ana came to the rescue. She suggested he just try a pair on to figure out the size he needs and my kid agreed. And in time he chose shoes, pants, a t-shirt, sweatshirt and beanie. Sweet relief! Ana took the time to grab multiple choices, matching outfits and styles that my kid really liked. We left very happy but with a mess for the staff to clean up. My shoes were at the front desk and I was standing there for a minute while the 3 workers were yapping to each other right in front of me. No one asked if I needed help or even looked up to acknowledge me. Please go to JD sports or Champs to save yourself an annoying experience. The service is horrible, every single time I've ever been to the store. I have to look for the workers for help on a shoe size. If I can get the shoes myself, I would. But their crappy attitude every single time I've ever walked into the store to ask them for help on the shoe size makes me never want to come back. I love this location. It is by far my favorite sports/athletic store! I've bought more shoes and apparel than any where else. Their Jordan selection is unmatched!! Customer service was awful! I asked for a shoe that I knew they had because I was sent from another store. They seemed annoyed that they even had to look. I asked for multiple sizes and Ruben just kept not wanting to check! So I said please can i have them all.. He finally checked after acting oblivious to my request..
