If I could give this place less than one star, I would.
My sister had a huge craving for Boiling Point, so we came here for dinner. I had never been before, and the food was alright, but the service was absolutely terrible.
When we first came in and asked for a table, we were asked to use the wait system outside. They are cleaning the table that we will be seated at later. So we go outside and sign up and take a number and end up waiting for about fifteen minutes. There's no one outside however to check the sheets and no one else waiting, so my sister goes back inside and we're seated. Did it take them fifteen minutes to clean that table or did they just not bother to check outside for us once they were done? I also want to add that my sister has a very obvious leg injury which is currently making it difficult for her to walk around, so this "go back outside and we're also not going to check on you" behavior struck me as particularly inhospitable.
So once we're seated and given our menus, we all decide to get pretty much the same thing. Three beef hotpots, two medium, one mild. The waitress doesn't bother to ask us if we want drinks, and I stupidly assume that they'll bring us water at the least. They don't, and I have to flag a waiter down for it. We wait for our food, they bring out the rice and noodles for us, and a little later on, bring out one medium spicy beef. Then a little while later, another medium spicy beef. And then a curry fishball *cue sad violin*. We tell the waiter that we didn't order that and he takes it back. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there waiting for my food. My rice has gone cold and has formed a crust of hard, dried rice on the outside. By the time I get my food, my sister and my boyfriend are halfway through their food. The entire time through the meal, any time we ask for something (extra bowls, broth, napkins, water, water refill) we have to ask twice before anyone bothers to bring it to us. The only time anyone is immediately attentive to us is when by boyfriend accidentally splashes soup on me; even then, the waiter isn't attentive. He just stops and stares at us like a deer caught in headlights, then my sister has to ask him for the napkins.
Once we finish our soup we decide to order the snow flake ice. Boiling Point is currently having a BOGO free promotion if you like and check in on Facebook. So my sister pulls out her phone and does just that. We get the attention of the waiter and tell him that we want to order two snow flake ice as part of the BOGO promotion. He starts to explain to us that it's only BOGO if you do the Facebook check in, and my sister shows him her phone and does it right in front of him. He sort of stalls, makes a face, then accepts it; it's as if giving us the promotion is something he doesn't want to do. We get our snow ice in a timely manner, then after eating, we also have to flag down the waiter for our check. They bring us the wrong one. At this my sister is fed up and walks up to the cash register. She explains to him that they've given her the wrong check and that she wants to speak to the manager on duty. He tells her "The manager isn't here today." What? This is either a boldfaced lie or they've got some serious management issues at this location. Either way, he apologizes that the service was bad and offers to give us a 10% discount on our bill. He gives us our recalculated bill, and there's no discount. At this point we are so fed up, we just pay and leave. Never before have I had such terrible service at any place I've gone. The staff here is inattentive, insensitive, rude, and incompetent. The food itself is mediocre. I will never go to Boiling Point again, and we will be writing to corporate about our experience. read more
