Boiling Point is one of my favorite hot pot restaurants to go to. It is a very good hangover cure! They are known for their " Wok in a Box" . It is different in that all the ingredients come fully cooked in the soup already. My favorite pots are the House special with stinky tofu, or the Taiwanese spicy (only available in flaming spicy) . I love my soup to be boiling hot. You can get free refills on the soup when running low. But what boiling point does best is their dipping sauces: spicy garlic bean paste and Garlic Soy. Dip everything in it. There have been many restaurants that try to imitate them, but none have come close. And don't sleep on their drinks. My favorite is the Hokkaido Milk Tea, half sweet with Egg Pudding. Their egg pudding is some of the best that I've had, it is creamy and smooth. Sometimes they will run promotions on their drinks at BOGO. Gift cards are available for purchase. They also have an Amazon storefront where you can purchase their sauces and Wok noodles! read more

I heard about how Boiling Point has a free hotpot for your birthday so I came here to give it a try. I did call beforehand to make sure that this location does this promotion though. It was almost full inside when I came on a Monday afternoon but luckily we still got seats without a wait. I ordered their beef hotpot and since it was a lunch special time, it came with a free drink- and I got the iced green tea. The food came out in around 10 minutes or so and is served on a small hot with a fire beneath to keep the broth hot. The hotpot comes with quite a variety of ingredients like meatballs, fishball, veggies, tofu, and corn. They even provide an extra bag of vermicelli to add if you want extra. However, the pot is actually pretty shallow and there isn't that much inside although there is a variety. So it wasn't super filling if you have a big appetite or are really hungry. The beef quality is not bad though and I enjoyed the broth. I think its a good hotpot option if you don't want to eat too much and like to have a variety of ingredients but not too much. The Boiling Point app no longer shows their waiting list, so you are no longer able to strategically pick a less crowded location or anticipate how long your approximate wait would be. When my boyfriend and I arrived to the Boiling Point - Arcadia, the tablet where you checked into prior, was covered by a QR code, that forces you to allow your location because you can only join when you are there. There is no indication of how many groups are in front of you, or how long the approximate wait is... and no staff in sight for me to inquire with... Visually it looked like 3 groups of 2 and 1 group of 6 before us, which wouldn't be bad. But it turns out a bunch of people were waiting in their cars. The wait was 50 minutes!! Had I known so many people were in front of us, I would have gone elsewhere. My boyfriend ordered his usual #4 Beef ($20.35/dinner) and I ordered my usual #6 Milk Cream Curry ($20.26/dinner). The prices continue to increase but the ingredients are reduced and swapped with inferior alternatives. When the weather is cold, my body yearns for hot pot to nourish myself but waiting for nearly an hour in the cold was counter productive to my health. I also want to point out that they didn't allow anyone to wait inside. We don't plan on coming back to this location since it's especially small and crowded... and I am definitely reluctant to go to other locations as their quality declines and I can't even glance to see how long the waitlist might be. read more

The service was fast, and our food came out in under 10 minutes after ordering. The staff was really friendly, and everything tasted delicious. Looking back at my old review... I have some updates! I did notice that throughout the last 2 years, the volume of music has gone down, which I greatly appreciate. Another point I would like to note is that although the price has increased a bit in the last ~5 years (which is what my old review was highlighting), their quality and portions have remained consistent. I understand that price increases of everything are to be expected, but I think I had written that because it felt steeper than other places. One minor change is that black tea is not an option for the lunch drink anymore, so the options are green tea or wintermelon tea. Honestly, I eat here way more than "on occasion", I am back at least twice a month (why did I even write that before). My favorite is always the House Special with vermicelli because it has a variety of ingredients inside, all of which I love. With the quality ingredients and delicious flavors, I leave feeling satisfied with my meal every time. (It's some website... not through yelp) Once seated, my friend and I were able to look at the menu via the QR code. I got the rose milky and really liked it!! As for the ambiance, don't be surprised if it feels freezing while you're waiting for your food. They seem to keep the thermostat around 60 degrees, but you'll warm up fast once you start eating. As for the service, it's nothing amazing, but nothing bad either. Pretty standard and efficient. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Alright I know you might think I'm crazy but sometimes I crave eating hot food on a super hot day. Who's with me?!? Anywhooo this spot has been here since I was in middle school! You choose from a small, but mighty, menu of different broth flavors + toppings. It's a pretty speedy process as they bring the pot to you with all the goodies cooked. Then lighting that chafing fuel so the food is hot for as long as you want! The beef hot pot is a classic and always my favorite. Beware of going above mild for spice as it gets pretty fiery in my opinion. I do feel the consistency hasn't changed one bit. Although I do miss the days of the enoki mushroom but I'll live....maybe Sometimes parking can be a bit tough when there's a lot of families during prime dinner hour. However not impossible to snag a spot on the adjacent streets. I already knew going in that this would be a fantastic experience solely based on the fact that my friend chose it as a lunch spot for us. The dining room was spacious and was also PACKED with folks who were out for lunch. While the menu was compact, there was still plenty of variety! I was debating between the Taiwanese Special and the beef. I ultimately went with the latter, since the spice level for the Taiwanese Special as Flaming Spicy. I'd like to ease into that spicy experience eventually, just not today! Along with the beef hot soup (with medium spice), I ordered the winter melon juice - which was DIVINE! It was just sweet enough, supremely flavorful, and refereshing. Within a handful of minutes, our hot soup/stoves were delivered to us and we dove right in! The flavor of the broth as well as the variety of accoutrements were absolutely delicious! The fish cakes, cabbage, and tempura were my favorite of the bunch. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to Boiling Point to try more menu options, the next time I'm craving something soupy. This is a location I visit quite often. Before COVID, most Boiling Point locations generally had poor and unfriendly service. Among them, this branch was at least one of the better ones. As of now, I would say this location offers the best service compared to all the other branches. The staff ask at just the right moment whether they may turn off the burner, and they come to refill the soup exactly when it's needed. They even bring napkins without being asked, which I truly appreciate. When service is this thoughtful and sincere, there's no reason not to leave a generous tip. I've noticed that the service has improved significantly over time, and I feel genuinely thankful for that. In particular, whenever I see young Asian staff members working diligently, I sincerely hope they all achieve great success in their future endeavors. read more

I came here the other day to enjoy some hot pot with my boyfriend and the place is small. We were told about some certain deals on Instagram to try and this was our reason to visit. We both ended up having the beef hot pot and with the deal on Instagram, we got a free appetizer and drink with no extra charge. Great place to go if you want individual hot pot. You don't share the hot pot like traditional hot pot experience. Food: My favorite is their Curry, Taiwanese and Korean. Some of their hot pot are in large hot and some are in small pot. I would say the large one can be shared between two people if you order extra meat and rice. Service: it's okay, not the best but not the greatest. Typical casual restaurant service. They are heavily under staff for all Boiling Point due to their labor cost control so most of the time you have to wait a while for them to bring you anything. Boiling point has always been a wildly popular and beloved Taiwanese hot pot chain serving the 626 community and beyond over the last couple of decades. Service and ambience in the Arcadia location is top notch and lives up to the high standards that this chain has established for the individual hot pot business. My only qualm is perhaps the overly ambitious pace of change on the BP menu itself, as well as changes/tweaks made to some of my favorites on the menu. For example, The Taiwanese Spicy hot pot was always my to-go, however, they made significant modifications in the recipe, adding a large amount of enoki mushrooms and tofu that diluted the flavor of the once aromatic and pungent dish. I've always go to the San Gabriel location and I absolutely miss the old SG location so much. I'm not too fond of the new SG location. It's pretty small and the floor is always sticky there. Unprofessional Service Experience: I am writing this to share my personal experience attempting to place a phone order at the Arcadia Boiling Point. My interaction with the staff member who identified herself as Sabrina was, in my opinion, highly unprofessional. I was initially placed on a long hold without an apology. When the call resumed, the staff member's communication style was what I perceived to be dismissive and impatient. She chose to communicate in broken English that was very difficult for me to understand. When I struggled to follow her due to the language barrier on her end, she responded with an attitude that I found to be rude. Because of this negative interaction, I ultimately decided to cancel my order. When I addressed the behavior directly, she did not offer an apology for her rude attitude. As a customer, I found this level of service unacceptable. I hope management reviews their customer service standards, as there are many other dining options in the area that prioritize clear and respectful communication. read more

Deeply dissatisfied and disappointed with this place -- I will not be giving them my business again! I went in today with a coworker for lunch, and the only truly spicy option on the menu was the Taiwanese Spicy selection. I told the waitress that I don't eat pig blood or pork intestine and asked if those ingredients could either be substituted or placed on the side for my coworker (since I was paying for the items anyway). The waitress said there were no substitutions allowed and that they could only remove the items, not set them aside. I asked to speak with a manager to see if an exception could be made, but she left and never returned. Rude!! About five minutes later, we waved another staff member over who came by to ask if our order had been taken. I repeated my request, and he told me the same thing -- that I would still be charged for the items, and they would not be willing to serve them on the side. This policy makes no sense to me. I told him that I would no longer be giving them my business and we left. Of course they didn't care. We went down the street to Momo Paradise Hot Pot instead, and for just $5 more, the quality and variety were far superior and All You Can Eat. Not to mention stellar customer service compared to boiling point's staff who could care less about you. I've given Boiling Point several chances in the past, hoping things would improve, but each visit/take out has been disappointing. Service is great, I would say they are getting better and better. Tonight the servers always checking on us, water, soup, check, togo box... etc. Very attentive!!! Love coming here for one pot hot pot! There's plenty of free parking which is always great. We went for a birthday, and the server confirmed that you can get a free pot AND free drink for your birthday with a valid government ID! Great service. I've eaten at Boiling Point many times. but this time, the waiters in Arcadia were very rude, especially the two female waitresses. There were four adults and one baby in our group. They asked us to wait for a table, but people who arrived later than us were seated. In the dead of winter, they impatiently told the baby to wait outside although the restaurant was spacious and there was no one waiting in line. We will never come to Arcadia boiling point again. read more
