I LOVE BP. Single serve hotpot may be the best invention yet. I get the beef hot soup no spicy with scallion rice and it always hits the spot especially on a cold night. The soybean sauce and soy sauce mixed together create the perfect dipping sauce to dip your meats in. I was so bummed they got rid of their rectangle bp fish cake. It was so delicious and loved the stamp. The scallion rice is sooo scrumptious I can't have my bp without it. Also, there are coupon codes that can get you a free appetizer if you will out their feedback form. We got the pork belly and it was soo flavorful. I also get the jasmine green milk tea with boba and it's a nice sweet treat. BP is the best!

The food was great always a 10/10. staff in Arcadia was very unfriendly, they don't welcome anything near closing.x Gardena location staff was amazing even before closing. very friendly polite. arcadia location we didn't feel that. I heard about how Boiling Point has a free hotpot for your birthday so I came here to give it a try. I did call beforehand to make sure that this location does this promotion though. It was almost full inside when I came on a Monday afternoon but luckily we still got seats without a wait. I ordered their beef hotpot and since it was a lunch special time, it came with a free drink- and I got the iced green tea. The food came out in around 10 minutes or so and is served on a small hot with a fire beneath to keep the broth hot. The hotpot comes with quite a variety of ingredients like meatballs, fishball, veggies, tofu, and corn. They even provide an extra bag of vermicelli to add if you want extra. However, the pot is actually pretty shallow and there isn't that much inside although there is a variety. So it wasn't super filling if you have a big appetite or are really hungry. The beef quality is not bad though and I enjoyed the broth. I think its a good hotpot option if you don't want to eat too much and like to have a variety of ingredients but not too much. The birthday treat was worth it though.

Boiling Point is a popular Taiwanese hot pot restaurant originated in Taiwan and was brought to the U.S. by owner Rick Chou, opening the first location in Hacienda Heights, CA in 2004. Unlike traditional communal hot pot, each diner receives their own small wok served over an individual burner to keep the soup bubbling throughout the meal. The restaurant offers roughly 10 distinct soup base, including popular choices like Beef, Lamb, Seafood Tofu, Milk Cream Curry, and polarizing House Special (which features fermented "stinky" tofu). Our favorites are the House Special and Spicy Beef. The broths were flavorful and paired well with their garlic soy sauce and spicy bean paste. The restaurant offers lunch specials which include a complimentary ice green or black tea. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant is contemporary, trendy, and casual, though the space is relatively small compared to other Boiling Point branches.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is limited, it's difficult to flagging down servers for our needs especially during peak times. Parking is primarily limited to street parking which can be difficult to find during peak hours.

The Boiling Point app no longer shows their waiting list, so you are no longer able to strategically pick a less crowded location or anticipate how long your approximate wait would be. When my boyfriend and I arrived to the Boiling Point - Arcadia, the tablet where you checked into prior, was covered by a QR code, that forces you to allow your location because you can only join when you are there. There is no indication of how many groups are in front of you, or how long the approximate wait is... and no staff in sight for me to inquire with... Visually it looked like 3 groups of 2 and 1 group of 6 before us, which wouldn't be bad. But it turns out a bunch of people were waiting in their cars. The wait was 50 minutes!! Had I known so many people were in front of us, I would have gone elsewhere. My boyfriend ordered his usual #4 Beef ($20.35/dinner) and I ordered my usual #6 Milk Cream Curry ($20.26/dinner). The prices continue to increase but the ingredients are reduced and swapped with inferior alternatives. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When the weather is cold, my body yearns for hot pot to nourish myself but waiting for nearly an hour in the cold was counter productive to my health.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also want to point out that they didn't allow anyone to wait inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We don't plan on coming back to this location since it's especially small and crowded... and I am definitely reluctant to go to other locations as their quality declines and I can't even glance to see how long the waitlist might be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Love the food here, especially during lunch time. They have a lunch special, which includes a free drink (green tea or black tea), and the price is slightly lower than dinner. My favorite is either the seafood pot or the rose milky.

I've done a lot of takeout from this location, but this time we decided to dine in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's one of the smaller Boiling Point locations, so lines can get pretty long depending on the time of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We signed in through the app, and fortunately, since we were a party of two, we only had to wait about 10 minutes. Overall, the experience was great. The service was fast, and our food came out in under 10 minutes after ordering. The staff was really friendly, and everything tasted delicious. I actually like this location more than a few of the other BP spots. Love that they have drinks now! Parking - It's downtown Arcadia, so it's just street parking wherever you can find a spot.

I love BP! To get on the waitlist, you need to turn on location services for your internet browser. (It's some website... not through yelp) Once seated, my friend and I were able to look at the menu via the QR code. I got the rose milky and really liked it!! It's a nice subtle milky flavor and didn't have any rose taste. lol! We also got free drinks w our lunch. I got the green tea but didn't realize it was sweetened. The staff were really nice. There were some trainees so they were all very attentive and came by our table often to refill our broth and waters. Free parking so that's also a plus!

Alright I know you might think I'm crazy but sometimes I crave eating hot food on a super hot day. Who's with me?!? Anywhooo this spot has been here since I was in middle school! I remember the days of getting out early and going to eat hotpot with all my friends with their lunch special hahaha I really do feel like this spot is an 626 staple. You choose from a small, but mighty, menu of different broth flavors + toppings. It's a pretty speedy process as they bring the pot to you with all the goodies cooked. Then lighting that chafing fuel so the food is hot for as long as you want! The beef hot pot is a classic and always my favorite. Beware of going above mild for spice as it gets pretty fiery in my opinion. I do feel the consistency hasn't changed one bit. Although I do miss the days of the enoki mushroom but I'll live....maybe Sometimes parking can be a bit tough when there's a lot of families during prime dinner hour. However not impossible to snag a spot on the adjacent streets. Service is always quick and attentive and they also brought back the little cups of juice instead of the packets (The world is healing) So if you want a soup based lunch/dinner that's quick and satisfying, Boiling Point is your guy!! Final verdict: Slurp-tacular ;)

This was my first time experiencing hot pot and it was SENSATIONAL! I already knew going in that this would be a fantastic experience solely based on the fact that my friend chose it as a lunch spot for us. ALWAYS trust your foodie friends; they know the way ;) There's 2 hour parking right outside the restaurant and if you can't find a spot there, there's plenty of street parking available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room was spacious and was also PACKED with folks who were out for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While the menu was compact, there was still plenty of variety! I was debating between the Taiwanese Special and the beef. I ultimately went with the latter, since the spice level for the Taiwanese Special as Flaming Spicy. I'd like to ease into that spicy experience eventually, just not today! Along with the beef hot soup (with medium spice), I ordered the winter melon juice - which was DIVINE! It was just sweet enough, supremely flavorful, and refereshing. Within a handful of minutes, our hot soup/stoves were delivered to us and we dove right in! The flavor of the broth as well as the variety of accoutrements were absolutely delicious! The fish cakes, cabbage, and tempura were my favorite of the bunch. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to Boiling Point to try more menu options, the next time I'm craving something soupy. This is also a great choice if you're wanting to go to hot pot but don't have a large enough group for the traditional pot-in-table setting. 10/10 recommend!

I've tried the other boiling point locations and can definitely say the service here is the best. It was about a 20 minute wait on a Friday night. I love their Beef Hot Pot with vermicelli! Looking back at my old review... I have some updates! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did notice that throughout the last 2 years, the volume of music has gone down, which I greatly appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another point I would like to note is that although the price has increased a bit in the last ~5 years (which is what my old review was highlighting), their quality and portions have remained consistent. I understand that price increases of everything are to be expected, but I think I had written that because it felt steeper than other places. One minor change is that black tea is not an option for the lunch drink anymore, so the options are green tea or wintermelon tea. Honestly, I eat here way more than "on occasion", I am back at least twice a month (why did I even write that before). My favorite is always the House Special with vermicelli because it has a variety of ingredients inside, all of which I love. With the quality ingredients and delicious flavors, I leave feeling satisfied with my meal every time. It seems that I was previously a bit harsh, but I love BP and will always keep coming back :)

Comfort food at its best! ::Drinks:: I went with the Honey Green Tea, which paired nicely with the meal. ::Food:: I always opt for the All Beef, non-spicy. I tried the spicy version once, and it was too hot for me. I also add fried tofu skin. This location is very small compared to the SG location. Food - 3/5 - One thing about BP is that it is pretty consistent across the board. I got the beef pot - spicy and it was exactly as expected. It's decent hot pot but not the best. The Hokkaido milk tea always slaps Price - $$ - The price point is the same for every BP in the area. I think that it's gotten quite expensive for the size that we get now. Service - 2/5 - Depending on the time you get there, the wait is bearable or out the door. This definitely affects the service if they are busy. The servers are trying their best but can be forgetful at times. Ambiance - 3/5 - The interior is casual and great for friends or just catching dinner with your SO. I've always go to the San Gabriel location and I absolutely miss the old SG location so much. I'm not too fond of the new SG location. It's pretty small and the floor is always sticky there. I decided to visit another location in Arcadia. I couldn't find the place at first because it wasn't obvious to me. I found street parking and walked over. This location is bigger than the one in SG. Surprisingly they are not busy on a weekday during dinner time. I called ahead to ask for the waiting time for a table of two, which is none. Yay for me! My mom and I ordered #1 house special, mild spicy, with lychee green tea and amber tea. I can always count on their drinks, all drinks are good at BP. Sometimes I stopped by just for drinks only for to go. Staffs are attentive and friendly. Always checking up on us and refilling the soup base. I'll definitely come to this location going forward! read more

We haven't been here as often because of the wait. But last night, I was really craving for them so came here. It was about 7:30pm when we arrived. You need to scan the QR code in order to sign into the wait list. At first, it didn't work for me. Turned out that I have to turn off something on my phone (in the privacy setting) I was so confused. I had to ask the Host how it works. He was very patient and helped me figured it out. Anyhow, after all the fuzz, I signed on and waited about 30 min for our table of 2. Deeply dissatisfied and disappointed with this place -- I will not be giving them my business again! I went in today with a coworker for lunch, and the only truly spicy option on the menu was the Taiwanese Spicy selection. I told the waitress that I don't eat pig blood or pork intestine and asked if those ingredients could either be substituted or placed on the side for my coworker (since I was paying for the items anyway). The waitress said there were no substitutions allowed and that they could only remove the items, not set them aside. I asked to speak with a manager to see if an exception could be made, but she left and never returned. Rude!! About five minutes later, we waved another staff member over who came by to ask if our order had been taken. I repeated my request, and he told me the same thing -- that I would still be charged for the items, and they would not be willing to serve them on the side. This policy makes no sense to me. I told him that I would no longer be giving them my business and we left. Of course they didn't care. We went down the street to Momo Paradise Hot Pot instead, and for just $5 more, the quality and variety were far superior and All You Can Eat. Not to mention stellar customer service compared to boiling point's staff who could care less about you. I've given Boiling Point several chances in the past, hoping things would improve, but each visit/take out has been disappointing. Between the poor customer service and the lackluster food, I don't see how this place can last if it continues operating this way, as there are much better places in Arcadia! read more

I can't believe they don't have good ratings on Yelp. Everything is top notch. Food is consistently good, very good portion with good nice ingredients. Service is great, I would say they are getting better and better. Tonight the servers always checking on us, water, soup, check, togo box... etc. Very attentive!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always clean, I think their restroom floor maybe a bit too wet, and their restroom can be a bit more clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But they still well deserved a solid 5 stars. read more

Came at around 12pm, it wasn't too packed thankfully we were able to sit down immediately. From the get go the servers were really nice and accommodating and they were still very helpful and kind despite a little miscommunication. Wei, our main server was great and provided great service! We came at an awkward not quite lunch, not yet dinner time so we were able to just walk in and be seated immediately, but it's not the biggest Boiling Point there is so I can see this place being quite crowded when it's actually the lunch or dinner rush. With that in mind, you can check in and get on their waitlist where they can call you afterwards. They also have an app too, but I'm not too entirely sure how that works. All menus are QR code based and are neatly hung from the side of the table and all the condiment sauces and powders are ready for you too. You can NEVER go wrong with their Spicy Garlic Bean Paste. Drizzle some on your rice and prepare plenty on your dish for dipping and you're good to go! Every time I get Boiling Point I ALWAYS make sure to get their Old Fashion Milk tea, large size. Super creamy and delicious. It's one of the best milk teas out there and if it was sold at a stand alone boba place it'd also be one of my go-to's. Issue was that even at ordering at 50% sweet this was still a bit sweeter than what I would have usually preferred so I can't imagine what a 100% sweet one is like... My friend and I shared a Korean Bean Paste Hot Pot mild spicy with 2 steamed rice. Started out boiling hot as the franchise's name implies and stayed hot and warm but not scalding enough throughout our meal there. Good amount of thinly sliced pork belly that was enough for both of us to share without running out, as well as rice cake, mushrooms, cucumbers, and kimchi. Each other topping there was double of (fish tofu and sausage), so this worked out perfectly too. Once again, perfect with their dipping sauce. As with each Boiling Point, every meal ends with their refreshing QQ Jelly and you're good to go! PS. Random note, but seeing the size of the restaurant and how fisted BP's can get...keep in mind I think there's only 1 restroom here lol. read more

Our server Ethan and Kenne were absolutely horrible. When we order our drink, we asked for honey green tea, after our drinks came out... it turned out to be honey MILK green tea. We order the drink for my mom whos lactose intolerant. we called the waiter 'ethan' over to come and ask about the mix up.. his response made the entire experience horrible.. he stated that the honey MILK green tea was on sale and he seems like he doesn't want change the drinks. I was also not aware of the promotion when I placed the order. I was deeply offended. absolutely horrible service. Mind you the drink was for my mom whos lactose intolerant. We ended up tipping 3 dollars, and the waiter has the ADUCITY to question my tips, extremely unprofessional never coming back. Ella was a good server tho. read more

Love coming here for one pot hot pot! There's plenty of free parking which is always great. We went for a birthday, and the server confirmed that you can get a free pot AND free drink for your birthday with a valid government ID! Great service. I always get the beef with mild spice and vermicelli. Boiling Point is a hit or miss for me in terms of giving me stomach issues after, but I keep coming back because it tastes good ⁠(⁠´⁠ー⁠｀⁠)⁠ . read more

First time trying. It was good. The medium spicy matched my regular spicy level. The portion was good. Had it with a side of rice. Got the winter melon tea. Sadly they did not ask the sweetness level and got a really sweet tea. The server was kind enough to remake it with half the tea, extra water and ice. Still sweet but tolerable. Overall service was decent, we came at opening and the three servers helped each other but, they did forget to serve rice at the same time as soup. They forgot our tea (needed to be reminded until middle of the meal). Then the extra meatballs I ordered were forgotten so, again had to remind them. Thankfully the servers were quick to remedy our requests. We had been lucky to get in there early, it was loud and full of conversation. Nice vibe and fast paced. read more

I always come here before the dinner rush hits so I never have to wait to get seated. The double meat and unlimited rice option make BP a good choice if you want to share a meal with someone since the portion is more than enough for one! The staff is attentive and quick to assist. The atmosphere is chill and casual and slowly gets busier as the night goes on. I've gone to BPs throughout the years and the consistency delivers! I love pairing my meal with a drink and appetizer. My personal favorites are Thai Tomato and Lamb for mains, Spicy Cumin Lamb, and Spicy Fermented Tofu for appetizers, and all of the drinks are delicious and refreshing! read more

I believe in Boiling Point supremacy! This place is my true weakness. I never pass up an opportunity to go to Boiling Point. The beef hot soup broth is always super flavorful and never disappoints. Paired with the rice is *chefs kiss*. The staff is incredibly attentive, consistently checking if I need more soup or if I want to turn off the fire. My soup always arrives extremely fast; I've never waited more than 10 minutes. Although I've tried different soups, my go-to is always the beef hot soup. Plus, they offer free green or black tea during lunch, which is a nice touch. Whether it's a rainy day, after a night out, or during my lunch break, it always hits the spot. Unprofessional Service Experience: I am writing this to share my personal experience attempting to place a phone order at the Arcadia Boiling Point. My interaction with the staff member who identified herself as Sabrina was, in my opinion, highly unprofessional. I was initially placed on a long hold without an apology. When the call resumed, the staff member's communication style was what I perceived to be dismissive and impatient. She chose to communicate in broken English that was very difficult for me to understand. When I struggled to follow her due to the language barrier on her end, she responded with an attitude that I found to be rude. We love the food at Boiling Point and have been eating here for years. My wife and I have always been fans of their soups. However, during our second visit to this branch on September 1st at 1:30 PM, we were extremely disappointed by the staff's behavior. We were standing quietly against the wall, waiting for our table, and were not blocking any path for the servers. We even had our baby with us. Despite this, we were told to wait outside in 98° heat. We were confused as to why we were asked to leave when we clearly weren't obstructing anyone. To make matters worse, when the host returned to call on the other party, they repeated the demand for us to go outside--this time in a very rude manner. We told the host that we have a baby and that it's hot outside, then the host told us "I don't care, wait outside!". Can't believe they hire A-holes in this place. read more

The quality has really gone down over the years in my opinion. I got the #1 house order and the pork already came kind of over cooked and did not seem the freshest. The broth also lacked depth of flavor. Service was good at this location though. I've eaten at Boiling Point many times. but this time, the waiters in Arcadia were very rude, especially the two female waitresses. There were four adults and one baby in our group. They asked us to wait for a table, but people who arrived later than us were seated. I have never been to a place like this before. Our waitress was very nice. She helped us with our selections and also explained a little how it worked. They also checked on us quite a bit. It was a fun experience. Lunch comes with a green tea or a winter melon juice both of which were delicious. The hot sauce (the thickest kind) is also very delicious and made the soup taste better. Came in on a Sunday morning and there was already a line forming before they even opened. The restaurant was basically full when everyone got seated and it seemed like more and more people were added on the waitlist. Popular spot! That being said, since there were so many customers, they seemed short staffed. There were only 2 servers around the restaurant and taking orders. The food came out pretty quickly but the kitchen staff seemed to be used to it. The food over all is very high quality and there's a huge variety of ingredients in each of the bowls. During lunch time you can choose either black tea or green tea and it comes complementary with each order. The soup has tons of flavor and you can always ask for more broth to be added into your bowl, and if it's boiling too much over, you can ask them to turn off the flame. The ambiance of the restaurant felt very busy and I had to wave the servers down if I needed anything. If you plan to come, try to come early! read more

The restaurant is always busy especially at night so the service is always a little slow. I always have to call servers over by going to the desk. The food feels overpriced after the price increase but you get a lot of food and a large variety too. I've never had a bad experience with their food and it's always consistently good. However, I couldn't help but notice they've switched out some of the items that used to come with the pots, which was a little disappointing. It just doesn't feel quite as good as it used to. That said, the broth was still rich, and the ingredients they did include were fresh and tasty. While it's not the same experience I remember, it's still a solid spot for hotpot cravings. Hits the spot on a cold and rainy night! This Boiling Point is smaller than the San Gabriel location, so be prepared to wait. We came on a Saturday night, and it was very busy even at around 8:30pm when we left. Definitely worth it though! We got the lamb hot soup, mild spice. It comes with a lot of food, and there's a huge variety of ingredients in the soup. I like to mix all 4 sauces provided on the side as a dip for the meat and veggies although it is not entirely necessary since the savory soup is already really flavorful. For the mild spice, it honestly does not taste spicy to me and I am someone who can barely handle hot cheetos. Everything is absolutely delicious, and I am definitely coming back! The service was really great too - very attentive and always offering to add soup or turn off the fire. They give you a little jello thing at the end as a "dessert" and it is the perfect palate cleanser. If you're in SGV definitely come check this place out :) read more

It made the whole experience that much more fun, and you get such a cool view of the restaurant from up there. Now, FOOD. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. When they bring it out, they actually ask if you'd like to record the presentation before they cut/open the egg--which, obviously, YES. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The egg was fluffy, the pork tonkatsu had that crispy texture, and everything worked really well with the fried rice and curry. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. Personally, I like my food SPICY spicy, so I added some extra spice to mine, but that's completely personal preference. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

The wait was long, but it was expected, and we weren't in any rush. The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chorizo con papas, which came with beans and handmade tortillas. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. Its hard to describe but the soup was tangy, refreshing, and had a spicy kick to it. It pairs perfect with a hot bowl of rice. The crispy pork was also very good, flavorful. I also really enjoyed the coconut lava balls - they were the perfect sweet treat after all the savory items. Portions are generous and the employee helped me pack up my leftovers. I'm never going back to this piece of shit restaurant ever again. Not only are they super slow, but now they recently changed their waiting list to a system where you draw a number out of a small bottle next to the wait list and write your name and the number you got on the list. What an ass backwards way of doing things. We recently went there and wrote our name down along with the pre-assigned number. 10 minutes in, I noticed a party in front of us left because the wait was too long. Then another couple showed up 10 minutes later and noticed the earlier party had put their number back on the table. So this dickhead boyfriend just proceeded to take that number and wrote it next to their names. When it was time for the clueless waitress to call the next table, she just called the number from the party that left previously. The same dickhead just gave her the number they took and she just sat them down. I went up to the waitress and told her this couple just cut in front of about 4 other tables and she just told me he had a number. What the fuck??? At this point, we just got so pissed and left. What a waste of time at this place. The food is not even that good to justify the wait. There are many other hot pot places around the San Gabriel valley to choose from. Stay away from this place!!! All the staff here are morons and they barely speak any English. read more

Boiling Point is a hot pot place that's always super busy, no matter the time or day! It's best to go earlier to put your name on the waitlist to avoid a long wait. Despite the crowds, the experience is definitely worth it. The portions are quite big, and you can choose between noodles or rice, and the broth spiciness level. I always go for mild because you can add more spice afterward if needed. I usually get the Japanese miso, which comes in a huge portion with lots of pork and seafood. The broth is delicious, and I always end up taking home leftovers! If you run out of broth, they'll refill it for you, which is a nice touch. The service is very quick and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need throughout your meal. Another great perk is their rewards program--you can sign up to accumulate points for a free hot pot. It's a fantastic way to get rewarded for enjoying your favorite dishes. One of the worst waiter I've ever met!! I went there on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend. It was pretty empty in the restaurant..only a few tables were occupied. When we walked in, no one greeted us so we sat ourselves down at a table. It took them at least 5 minutes to notice us and brought us the menu. After the waiter put the menus down on our table, he walked away immediately!! It was super empty in the room which made me a little pissed off. Only a minute or two after we got our menu, three young ladies walked into the restaurant. It only took like 10seconds for those three young ladies to receive greetings and their menu. Then he stayed at there table waiting for the girls to order. It's like he is the servant of those girls!! I was like what the hell!? Is he like a pervert or something?? Then I waved at him to order but he did not even notice our existence. Then another waitress came over to order our food and drinks. Somehow she never smiled and looks unhappy... Boiling point also made some small changes to their hot pots which I did not like at all. This is a location I visit quite often. Before COVID, most Boiling Point locations generally had poor and unfriendly service. Among them, this branch was at least one of the better ones. As of now, I would say this location offers the best service compared to all the other branches. The staff ask at just the right moment whether they may turn off the burner, and they come to refill the soup exactly when it's needed. They even bring napkins without being asked, which I truly appreciate. When service is this thoughtful and sincere, there's no reason not to leave a generous tip. I've noticed that the service has improved significantly over time, and I feel genuinely thankful for that. In particular, whenever I see young Asian staff members working diligently, I sincerely hope they all achieve great success in their future endeavors. read more

My first time and I gotta give this place a thumbs down. Looks great in photos, but the reality is flavor is lacking, not as much meat as you think, and simply not a mind blowing meal. I had the Taiwanese Spicy and it was not very spicy. I can handle some serious spicy, but this was just chili oil spicy. Not much flavor. Clams were tiny and after going through most of it, it was mainly full of cabbage and tofu. My nieces had the lamb and beef ones and they weren't all that great tasting either. Everything looked great, but without that yumminess factor, no need to return. Service was solid and fast and I give them 2 stars for that. And I love Taiwanese food (used to have a Taiwanese GF that took me to the best places), but this trendy chain restaurant just didn't do it for me. read more

I am a fan of Boiling point. Affordable rate with tasty food. I am a huge fan of Taiwanese Hot pot. I can't stop myself keep coming back for their hot pot. Service is good with the price they are charging. Food serve fast that I like. I especially love their signature bean paste sauce. Very very unique and delicious. With the way they made their be a paste sauce, I can not stop yourself from keep coming back to this place. I like how they serve hot pot with a complimentary green tea or black tea. The server asked if I was ready to order within two minutes of sitting down, which made me feel a bit pressured. Second, I decided to upgrade from regular rice to their new beef bowl. However, the beef bowl arrived first, and I had to wait another five minutes for the hot pot. Why couldn't they serve them at the same time? Don't they realize the rice gets cold while waiting? Boiling point is simple and delicious. This place is great on a cold winters day, or very good for the day after a night of hardcore drinking, AKA hangover. They have 10 soup options and that's it. You can add sides, but they don't have extra. Let's say if one bowl has bean sprouts, but you order a different bowl, and wanted to add bean sprouts to it, they won't have extra to let you add on. Aside from that, everything else about this place is great. I like the fact that they also take credit cards, because some of these Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants are cash only. read more

Can't lie walking by a whole buncha stores outdoor is nice because you get to window show and see all these interesting things, after a long walk we ended up by a restaurant "boiling point" it looked like an asian place obvisouly so we gave it a shot the line was 30 minutes long we were thinking of leaving but we thought hmm there must be a long line for some reason. I recently visited Boiling Point and was quite disappointed with my experience. Despite the restaurant's inviting ambiance, the service was incredibly slow and subpar. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were not as flavorful as expected, and some items were even served cold. Additionally, the staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, which only added to the frustration. You already know it's good and that's why you're gonna brave through the wait. Meanwhile, here are some tips if you've never Boiling Point'ed: -Don't come starving. You'll have to wait and it'll make you very upset. -Everyone has to be in your party to be seated. -If it's not hot for you, ask your server to take the fire out. -If your soup has quickly evaporated or you drank all of it too fast, ask for more soup. -the meal comes with a drink, black or green tea. -they blasted EDM music, so just be ready for that. -last point is no joke. The beef hotpot was rich and savory, even though it wasn' t spicy, while the seafood hotpot had a fresh and slightly sweet broth that I really enjoyed. When it's cold outside, this is my favorite spot for a comforting hotpot meal. Despite it being busy, the service is quick, so you don't have to wait long. Tip: Come early to avoid the crowds. I always stop by here when I'm in town. Hot pot is delicious and it comes with a drink for lunch hours! Portion size is perfect for me, I finished most of it without being super full like how I usually am when I eat at hotspot places that we have to share the pot. I really like their Taiwanese spicy hot pot, the things inside are perfectly evened out, not like some places that give you basically most vegetables and barely anything else. Everything comes out precooked, even the meat (thanks to federal regulations), on top of a flame that's barely covered (you will get burned if you're not careful). Service tends to be slow, and sometimes the wait for a table is really long. Otherwise, it's a pretty cheap place that has tasty food and superb garlic sauce. Make sure to get a stamp card! Unfortunately, each location has its own stamp card, so you can't combine stamps from the Arcadia location w/ the Monterey Park location. read more

Be careful with your receipts. This is the second boiling point location where I've experienced them adding more tip for themselves when they entered the charge. I saved my receipt to match up with my monthly bills and noticed they decided to add an additional two dollars in tip to the total amount that I got charged. They are banking on people not noticing the increases in charge. This is a very dishonest and unethical practice BP and I will not be returning!!! read more

Just went there 07/08/2014. The price has increased more than 10%. Please be aware and I recommend everybody no to go there for a while. Please think about it, when you will get 10% raise from your company? Is it easy? This is a pretty crowded place so the owner thinks he has the luxury to increase the price so much.
