I LOVE BP. Single serve hotpot may be the best invention yet. I get the beef hot soup no spicy with scallion rice and it always hits the spot especially on a cold night. The soybean sauce and soy sauce mixed together create the perfect dipping sauce to dip your meats in. I was so bummed they got rid of their rectangle bp fish cake. It was so delicious and loved the stamp. The scallion rice is sooo scrumptious I can't have my bp without it. Also, there are coupon codes that can get you a free appetizer if you will out their feedback form. We got the pork belly and it was soo flavorful. I also get the jasmine green milk tea with boba and it's a nice sweet treat. BP is the best!

The food was great always a 10/10. staff in Arcadia was very unfriendly, they don't welcome anything near closing.x Gardena location staff was amazing even before closing. very friendly polite. arcadia location we didn't feel that. I heard about how Boiling Point has a free hotpot for your birthday so I came here to give it a try. I did call beforehand to make sure that this location does this promotion though. It was almost full inside when I came on a Monday afternoon but luckily we still got seats without a wait. I ordered their beef hotpot and since it was a lunch special time, it came with a free drink- and I got the iced green tea. The food came out in around 10 minutes or so and is served on a small hot with a fire beneath to keep the broth hot. The hotpot comes with quite a variety of ingredients like meatballs, fishball, veggies, tofu, and corn. They even provide an extra bag of vermicelli to add if you want extra. However, the pot is actually pretty shallow and there isn't that much inside although there is a variety. So it wasn't super filling if you have a big appetite or are really hungry. The beef quality is not bad though and I enjoyed the broth. I think its a good hotpot option if you don't want to eat too much and like to have a variety of ingredients but not too much. The birthday treat was worth it though.

Boiling Point is a popular Taiwanese hot pot restaurant originated in Taiwan and was brought to the U.S. by owner Rick Chou, opening the first location in Hacienda Heights, CA in 2004. Unlike traditional communal hot pot, each diner receives their own small wok served over an individual burner to keep the soup bubbling throughout the meal. The restaurant offers roughly 10 distinct soup base, including popular choices like Beef, Lamb, Seafood Tofu, Milk Cream Curry, and polarizing House Special (which features fermented "stinky" tofu). Our favorites are the House Special and Spicy Beef. The broths were flavorful and paired well with their garlic soy sauce and spicy bean paste. The restaurant offers lunch specials which include a complimentary ice green or black tea. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant is contemporary, trendy, and casual, though the space is relatively small compared to other Boiling Point branches.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is limited, it's difficult to flagging down servers for our needs especially during peak times. Parking is primarily limited to street parking which can be difficult to find during peak hours.

The Boiling Point app no longer shows their waiting list, so you are no longer able to strategically pick a less crowded location or anticipate how long your approximate wait would be. When my boyfriend and I arrived to the Boiling Point - Arcadia, the tablet where you checked into prior, was covered by a QR code, that forces you to allow your location because you can only join when you are there. There is no indication of how many groups are in front of you, or how long the approximate wait is... and no staff in sight for me to inquire with... Visually it looked like 3 groups of 2 and 1 group of 6 before us, which wouldn't be bad. But it turns out a bunch of people were waiting in their cars. The wait was 50 minutes!! Had I known so many people were in front of us, I would have gone elsewhere. My boyfriend ordered his usual #4 Beef ($20.35/dinner) and I ordered my usual #6 Milk Cream Curry ($20.26/dinner). The prices continue to increase but the ingredients are reduced and swapped with inferior alternatives. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When the weather is cold, my body yearns for hot pot to nourish myself but waiting for nearly an hour in the cold was counter productive to my health.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also want to point out that they didn't allow anyone to wait inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We don't plan on coming back to this location since it's especially small and crowded... and I am definitely reluctant to go to other locations as their quality declines and I can't even glance to see how long the waitlist might be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Love the food here, especially during lunch time. They have a lunch special, which includes a free drink (green tea or black tea), and the price is slightly lower than dinner. My favorite is either the seafood pot or the rose milky.

I've done a lot of takeout from this location, but this time we decided to dine in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's one of the smaller Boiling Point locations, so lines can get pretty long depending on the time of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We signed in through the app, and fortunately, since we were a party of two, we only had to wait about 10 minutes. Overall, the experience was great. The service was fast, and our food came out in under 10 minutes after ordering. The staff was really friendly, and everything tasted delicious. I actually like this location more than a few of the other BP spots. Love that they have drinks now! Parking - It's downtown Arcadia, so it's just street parking wherever you can find a spot.

I love BP! To get on the waitlist, you need to turn on location services for your internet browser. (It's some website... not through yelp) Once seated, my friend and I were able to look at the menu via the QR code. I got the rose milky and really liked it!! It's a nice subtle milky flavor and didn't have any rose taste. lol! We also got free drinks w our lunch. I got the green tea but didn't realize it was sweetened. The staff were really nice. There were some trainees so they were all very attentive and came by our table often to refill our broth and waters. Free parking so that's also a plus!

Alright I know you might think I'm crazy but sometimes I crave eating hot food on a super hot day. Who's with me?!? Anywhooo this spot has been here since I was in middle school! I remember the days of getting out early and going to eat hotpot with all my friends with their lunch special hahaha I really do feel like this spot is an 626 staple. You choose from a small, but mighty, menu of different broth flavors + toppings. It's a pretty speedy process as they bring the pot to you with all the goodies cooked. Then lighting that chafing fuel so the food is hot for as long as you want! The beef hot pot is a classic and always my favorite. Beware of going above mild for spice as it gets pretty fiery in my opinion. I do feel the consistency hasn't changed one bit. Although I do miss the days of the enoki mushroom but I'll live....maybe Sometimes parking can be a bit tough when there's a lot of families during prime dinner hour. However not impossible to snag a spot on the adjacent streets. Service is always quick and attentive and they also brought back the little cups of juice instead of the packets (The world is healing) So if you want a soup based lunch/dinner that's quick and satisfying, Boiling Point is your guy!! Final verdict: Slurp-tacular ;)

This was my first time experiencing hot pot and it was SENSATIONAL! I already knew going in that this would be a fantastic experience solely based on the fact that my friend chose it as a lunch spot for us. ALWAYS trust your foodie friends; they know the way ;) There's 2 hour parking right outside the restaurant and if you can't find a spot there, there's plenty of street parking available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room was spacious and was also PACKED with folks who were out for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While the menu was compact, there was still plenty of variety! I was debating between the Taiwanese Special and the beef. I ultimately went with the latter, since the spice level for the Taiwanese Special as Flaming Spicy. I'd like to ease into that spicy experience eventually, just not today! Along with the beef hot soup (with medium spice), I ordered the winter melon juice - which was DIVINE! It was just sweet enough, supremely flavorful, and refereshing. Within a handful of minutes, our hot soup/stoves were delivered to us and we dove right in! The flavor of the broth as well as the variety of accoutrements were absolutely delicious! The fish cakes, cabbage, and tempura were my favorite of the bunch. I will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to Boiling Point to try more menu options, the next time I'm craving something soupy. This is also a great choice if you're wanting to go to hot pot but don't have a large enough group for the traditional pot-in-table setting. 10/10 recommend!

I've tried the other boiling point locations and can definitely say the service here is the best. It was about a 20 minute wait on a Friday night. I love their Beef Hot Pot with vermicelli! Looking back at my old review... I have some updates! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did notice that throughout the last 2 years, the volume of music has gone down, which I greatly appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another point I would like to note is that although the price has increased a bit in the last ~5 years (which is what my old review was highlighting), their quality and portions have remained consistent. I understand that price increases of everything are to be expected, but I think I had written that because it felt steeper than other places. One minor change is that black tea is not an option for the lunch drink anymore, so the options are green tea or wintermelon tea. Honestly, I eat here way more than "on occasion", I am back at least twice a month (why did I even write that before). My favorite is always the House Special with vermicelli because it has a variety of ingredients inside, all of which I love. With the quality ingredients and delicious flavors, I leave feeling satisfied with my meal every time. It seems that I was previously a bit harsh, but I love BP and will always keep coming back :)

Got here around 2pm for lunch on Thursday (05/25/23). There is parking on ground level and underground. There were quite a few customers so we had to wait 15 minutes. Service here is attentive and quick. On the table, there are garlic and spicy dipping sauces. After our meal, we received our bill with a dragon fruit jelly as dessert (free). Process: - Check in on the machine to get on the waitlist. Boiling Point is the typical spot I choose when craving hot soup. I used to go to the San Gabriel location but I feel like since they have moved, the SG location is too small and the quality of the food has suffered. I think Arcadia is the better location in the area as the food is better tasting and portions are bigger here. The Beef Hot Pot is my favorite! Service (5/5): The service here is usually pretty good. The wait staff are friendly and are quick to attend to customers. I appreciate that even when it's a full house, the food comes out quickly and the servers are attentive. They do a good job refilling broth and turning off the fire whenever I need it. Ambiance (3/5): It's small in the restaurant and there's not that many tables. It's usually pretty loud inside and has casual vibes. Unfortunately, there's no space to wait inside and you have to stand outside when waiting for a table. Food (4/5): Can't go wrong with any of the Hot Soups - my go-to is Beef. The sauces they offer elevate the food to the next level. I love the garlic bean paste and the garlic soy sauce (mixing these 2 together is my favorite way to combine the sauces). - Beef Hot Soup - Mild ($20.15): My favorite! The soup has great beefy flavor and the spiciness adds some depth to the broth. They now give a generous amount of beef in these soups after they raised the price in the beginning of 2024. You can also get refills of rice for no additional charge. - House Special Hot Soup - Mild ($19.88): It was ok. The soup lacked flavor and while the toppings were a lot, I felt that the pork tastes worse than beef. Also, sometimes the spice levels are inconsistent as this mild wasn't spicy at all and occasionally mild tastes like medium. - Spicy Fermented Tofu ($6.41): I'm not the biggest fan. Tastes kind of artificial for some reason? It is actually spicy and has a strong kick to it. - Honey Milk Green Tea ($6.25): When I'm craving a drink from here, this is my typical choice. Tastes good and pairs well with hot soup! It is pricy for just some milk tea though. - Amber Oolong Milk Tea ($5.95): This is a new drink that came out recently. I think the flavors of the Amber Oolong tea are more dynamic than the Honey Milk Green Tea. It has a very slight toasty spice flavor that weirdly goes well with the milk tea. I would drink this again when I'm bored of the green tea. Price (3/5): Since the price increases, I feel that the value of the soup has declined. They claim that it's double meat from before but honestly, it seems like it's 1.5x rather than 2x. It used to be a better deal. Although the price has increased a good amount, the consistency of the soups still remain. I would still come by occasionally when craving hot soup, but definitely not as much as before. read more

Double the meat now? Say less! I come here and always order the lamb (spice level: flamin) with vermicelli. I know there was a price increase, but they also doubled the meat which I think is a fair trade. The service is quick, and the interior is always clean. Sometimes, there is a long wait so you have to be smart about what time you go. read more

Haven't been to this location in at least 4 years. Since the last time I've been, they remodeled the inside and changed the table layout. The space is a bit smaller than the Rowland Heights location. The parking can be tough especially if it's busy at the time you go. The service isn't bad, as the night I went, the servers came around a couple times asking if we wanted water or soup refills. I feel like you can't really go wrong with the pot. If you're craving personal hotpot, Boiling Point is a good place to eat at. They always give a lot of cabbage as and the pot is filled to the top. I didn't notice much of a difference in food quality from this location to the Rowland location. Overall not bad, just a quick place to eat once seated as the wait can be awhile depending on your party size. read more

Created an account just to rate my experience. My brother and I came in to the restaurant when It just opened for the day. It was busy and only two servers were working. We got our menus and waited for the server. The server sat another two customers and we still waited. 10 minutes passed and the server took the other customers (who came after us) order. Whenever I go here with my fam, the food always hits the spot. The only thing that I have to warn y'all is that, pick the time you go here wisely- the place isn't the biggest place and parking can get packed because there are other stores and food places around the block. Ordered to-go for the first time through Door Dash and this satisfied all the cravings I have. I was hesitant to order at first... The whole pot came in the same container with the rice on the side, and surprisingly, the beef in the soup is not too cooked. The winter melon juice is good as usual. read more

Was kind of disappointed this last time I came by. So me and my group came by on a Saturday, so of course it was going to be busy. We signed in at 8:25PM and got seated around 9:25PM. It was apparent that our utensils were dirty and the sauces were pretty messy as well. Flagging down a server took quite some time, but we finally managed to get one's attention. We told her we were ready to order, so she took out her tablet. Unfortunately I mentioned the utensils thing, and she ended up leaving to get one, dropping it off, and then leaving to another table to take their order, even though we were also ready to take our order too. We were a little confused and stunned because she was in the middle of doing it and just left us like that. Anyways, eventually we got our order down. It took a long time for our food to come out and we were already getting tired of waiting. Finally got our food, but previously we asked for no green onions and cilantro, but kitchen made a mistake so we had to send it back. It was probably a rough day for them as well because the restroom was closed down. In the mean time, I did ask for more soup. They forgot and didn't show up. Had to ask again for soup. I asked the guy for my check, and we asked for water. It was funny since he had the water jug in his hand and then he said okay and walked away. That's how you know it was hectic. He didn't come back and we had to ask again. The servers were definitely nice, but it was just overall chaotic. Now I love Boiling Point. In fact, it's usually one of my top three's to go to when I'm looking for dinner or lunch with friends. The Arcadia location is usually my favorite because of how accommodating they are, but this time was just too chaotic and mismanaged. read more

Arrived at the place around 8:00 pm, was immediately seated right away. There are no words to describe how attentive and quick the service is at the Arcadia's Boiling Point. Since my family and friends love Boiling Point frequently, I'd always go to Boiling Point at least 1-2 times per month. At this Boiling Point, the staff is extremely attentive, and ambience is nice and friendly. I ordered the classic Beef pot, which comes with their Double Meat and AYCE RICE (there is 3 bowls of rice you can get, you can get another bowl of rice AFTER you finish your first bowl), which was extremely affordable and sharable between 2-3 people. My total price came out to around 20-25 dollars for dinner price, and I found that to be very fair, since the meat portions were generous along with the vegetables. Broth can be added on upon request. Wonderful service, and completely blasts the Rowland Heights location out of the park :). read more

Wonderful packaging for delivery. Our food was extremely hot and everything was packaged beautifully. The Hokkaido milk tea was good, but the boba was a bit way too chewy. Green tea was refreshing. We also order two separate hot pots. Everything is pre-cooked for you, so nice and ready to eat. Noodles come on the side and they package all the sauces for you, which was great! They also provide a little lemon jelly with chia seeds as dessert. Of the flavors here, I enjoyed the seafood hot pot more because of the clear broth. Lamb is my second favorite. Know that if you order mild spicy, it is still quite spicy. I wish they provided another package of broth because I felt once the noodle was in, there wasn't enough soup. read more

This has been my go to place for awhile. I love boiling point and all the delicious flavors each pot has. My favorite has to be beef. The portions are great and perfect for one person. They have lunch hours which is from 11-3 where they give you a free drink, either green or black tea. You can also upgrade to a larger drink for a fifty cent difference I believe. The lines are long during night time and colder days, but it's super worth it. The service is great though, once ordered, food will arrive very quickly and servers are fast and efficient. Shoutout to Issac, Kenneth, Amy, Ella, Kiki, and Flora. They have been great to me and my family everytime we eat here. I'm pretty much a regular coming weekly. Don't skip this place! They also have a tasty appetizer. Garlic pork belly is delicious and portion again is great. Again great place to eat and fill you up for the hot pot lovers! read more

Haven't gone to boiling point in years so it was a pleasant coming back. They had a really good deal where if you order one hot pot you'd get a free medium drink excluding hot drinks. They also double up on the meat and unlimited free rice. That's such a good deal!! I even saw some people ordering just 1 hot pot and sharing it with the table and you can order more rice for others. Also, there was no wait but I came on a Thursday night. Still very crowded so expect a wait during rush hour. read more

1/6/2024 Boiling Point aren't kidding about double the meat. Me and my wife sharing this Taiwanese hotpot with AYCE rice. We barely can finish the meats! Soup has a lot of flavor, and the dipping sauce is out of this world! I spilled the sauce by accident. The girl servers came quickly and clean it up for me. We even got a free medium size drink. Where else can u get ur hotpot for only $25 that feeds 2? Thank you BP! read more

Some might say Boiling Point is the best thing that's happened on 1st Ave... but to me, I think there are plenty of better things out there. My friend was craving BP so bad so we came on a Monday evening for dinner around 6:30pm. The restaurant was PACKED with families w/ kids, but luckily we were seated right away since we were just a party of 2. They didn't even give us menus, but came to take our order. Since we've both been here many times, we already knew what we wanted. I got the House special #1 and my friend got the Beef hot pot. They have a good variety of flavors from Korean army stew, curry, lamb, veggie, etc. The House special comes with stinky tofu, pigs blood, napa cabbage, 1 taro fishball, 1 quail egg, intestines, and some beef. Honestly, the portion sizes here are really quite small - I can finish a portion and leave feeling like I didn't eat that much. One hot pot will set you back around $20 after tax and tip, prices have really gone up! In my opinion, it's not that worth it unless you really like BP. I think it's their dipping sauces that really set them apart. They gave us 2 packets of lemon basil seed with our check but we weren't able to open it so we asked for scissors and they wouldn't give us any!! So sad. Parking is street parking only. By the time we left, a small line had formed. read more

This placed used to be 4 stars to me due to the the terrible servers and not being friendly. But for the past couple years it's been excellent and they are very attentive with your needs. The food is very consistent. Come during the lunch special to save some money and get a free drink. Parking isn't too bad since you can always park on the side streets if the front is full. The inside and seating is a tad tight but cozy. Overall how can you not love hotpot and the sauces they provide is amazing. read more

I came here again because a friend of mine told me this is still his go to spot for hot pot. I remember my last visit several years ago was not very impressive , but I decided to give it another shot. Not much has changed. Actually, I would commend them for being able to keep everything exactly the same as I remembered 8 years ago. I still prefer the fresh meat and vegetable that come with other hot pots and the option to cook some meats medium. read more

Solid place for Taiwanese hot pot. I have ordered the Korean Bean Paste which comes with Kimchi, rice cake, pork belly, and crown daisy among other ingredients. I also love the House Special with my favorite toppings in this pot being tofu, intestine, beef, taro. For carbs you can choose between vermicelli and rice. I opted for rice and added $1 for the gravy rice - the rice is coated with a savory meat sauce and topped with crispy fried onion and green onions. Everything is delicious and the pot is full of flavor. You can ask to have the broth refilled as much as you like. The sauces here are so tasty - probably the best thing about dining at Boiling Point in my opinion. I literally dip everything in them. They have a bean sauce, garlic sauce, and chili oil and I love mixing a combination of them. Service was great and came by often to refill our soup and waters. Love that they give a little dessert of Jelly at the end of the meal. Restaurant is on the smaller end so be prepared to wait, but the interior is modern and very clean. read more

So aside from the bad service from previous review by the manager.. this time their staff on 9/8 lunch shift decided to forget to input my point system for the app. I decided to call them today to remind them about it and was eventually transferred over to a manager. The manager wanted me to go in to fill out a form.. and it has to go through corporate. Because each day the checks are closed out. what kind of nonsense is that? I mean, if you're going to have the point system to encourage people to go might as well honor it. Otherwise don't have it at all. I find it really ridiculous that this location has gone way down hill over the years. Me actually taking the time to write this review shows the dissatisfaction I have for this place. I think corporate needs to take a close look at the management at this location. read more

They're scamming people here. I only tipped 18% and they charged me a 33% tip. When I tried to resolve it with them, they only offered me cash. I asked that they give me credit back through my credit card but they refused. Extremely sus, DO NOT SUPPORT. Warning to everyone to check their credit card statements after eating here. read more

Absolute one of my favorite spots located in Downtown Arcadia! I get their beef hot pot and combine the garlic soy sauce with I forgot that other nonspicy one....it iis like a flavor explosion in your mouth!!! It's so tender and juicy, and when paired with the extra tofu skin (extra), it takes the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. And guess what? If you're craving more broth, they're more than happy to give you extra upon request! The atmosphere at Boiling Point is simple, yet clean, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance - great for groups, family, and even date night. The modern decor adds a touch of style to the whole experience. And let's not forget about the staff! They're incredibly friendly and always go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. They saw me use so many napkins they came back with more without me asking. Now, let's talk about the price point. It's totally affordable, which is such a pleasant surprise considering the top-notch quality of the food. We came for lunch so it was about $15-16 and it came with either green or black tea for FREE! I can't express how much I love this place! I got my friend addicted to it too now. I usually get #4 which is beef. It's sooooo good & one of my favorites. I recently had their new one which is #9 miso. Now whenever I go it's a tough decision. They're both so delicious. I hear a lot of ppl asking for their fire to be turned off, but I always have to ask for it to be lit again if it goes off and I'm still eating. As long as I'm eating that fire needs to be on! Lol I've had #7, Mushroom Veggie, and #6 milk cream curry. They are actually pretty good too. I want to try #3, Korean bean paste, but I always stick to my usual. I'll give y'all an update if I do. Today was the perfect hot pot weather, and Boiling Point is my go-to hot pot spot! I ordered the No.3 Korean Bean Paste with rice and a side of the garlic pork belly, and my boyfriend ordered the beef option. As usual, Boiling Point ceases never to disappoint! The spicy, flavorful broth is warming, and the variety of toppings is delicious. I love the fish fillet, pork belly, and instant noodles the most. I also love the selection of garlic sauces they have! The sauce combinations are endless and pair wonderfully with my toppings and rice. The side of garlic pork belly was a giant portion too! It was delectable. My boyfriend also loved his dish! Shoutout to our waiter Andy for the impeccable customer service! Andy was super attentive to our table--by offering lots of water refills, more soup, and even quickly getting my boyfriend a new pair of chopsticks because he dropped his! I gave 15% tip and they charged me 33% my bank notified me if this was an overtip and indeed it was. Be sure to check your bank statements after paying because the workers are filling in the tip themselves over charging people. Or just pay cash at this point. I called the restaurant and they have not resolved it. Would not come to this location. read more

Boiling Point is a solid place for Taiwanese hot pot. I ordered the milky cream curry hot pot which comes with Napa, sliced pork, enoki mushroom, imitation crab stick, fish ball, fried tofu, corn, tempura, potato, Chinese string beans, sea salt cream, and vermicelli. All the ingredients inside the hot pot were delicious and the broth was rich in flavor. There was an option of spice level: none to flaming spicy. They have bean paste sauce and garlic sauce as dipping sauces to the protein, vegetables, and tofu. I overly indulged with the bean paste sauce. It compliments the dish so well. Nothing can beat the Boiling Point bean paste sauce. At the end of the meal, staff will provide a light, cold dessert of a jelly package with basil seed. read more

This hot pot place never disappoints. Their beef hot pot is my go-to and the broth has a very unique taste that I dont think I've tasted in any other restaurants in the area. Their garlic soy sauce is also out of this world! This restaurant definitely has its own unique taste compared to other hot pot places. You can choose between rice or vermicelli and I would always get rice bc they dont give much of the vermicelli. Their lunch is also a tad cheaper than dinner so it's best to come during lunch time for their lunch prices! They also give a free black or green tea if you come during lunch before 3pm! This location is a bit smaller than their other locations (except Monterey Park) but it's also located in a less busy street so dont need to worry about waiting long to dine in. 10/10 would recommend this place! read more

Happy with their food and services. I saw many reviews mentioned about their service needs improve, however, I have no issue at all. Maybe they did improved or maybe because I went early like 5:30 for dinner so less busy, there's people waiting outside when we finished. After many many times order "house special" I finally tried something different this time. I ordered "Curry cream" and it's so good. Not sure about other people but I like heavy taste and it's just fine for me. read more

a go-to spot always. my go-to is beef medium spicy w rice on the side. the spicy is spicy but not too unbearable. the tofu, the cabbage, the beef slices, the mushroom so delicious. there can be a long wait during dinner and lunch so just go when it is the off-times aka right after lunch. read more

Meeting two of my very special GFs here for nice Taiwanese hot pot tonight. Parking was easy on Monday evening . We were able to input our phone numbers to be on the waiting list . The interior was very nice and spacious. Each tables were comfortably spaced out ...service was phenomenal. Our foods arrived very fast and were truly delicious ! I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. Personally, I like my food SPICY spicy, so I added some extra spice to mine, but that's completely personal preference. I also ordered the Thai iced tea, and that was delicious--fresh, creamy, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted with the meal. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the food, but I think the atmosphere is what pushed the experience over the top for me. The restaurant itself is just SO COOL. Its hard to describe but the soup was tangy, refreshing, and had a spicy kick to it. It pairs perfect with a hot bowl of rice. The crispy pork was also very good, flavorful. I'm never going back to this piece of shit restaurant ever again. Not only are they super slow, but now they recently changed their waiting list to a system where you draw a number out of a small bottle next to the wait list and write your name and the number you got on the list. What an ass backwards way of doing things. We recently went there and wrote our name down along with the pre-assigned number. 10 minutes in, I noticed a party in front of us left because the wait was too long. Then another couple showed up 10 minutes later and noticed the earlier party had put their number back on the table. So this dickhead boyfriend just proceeded to take that number and wrote it next to their names. When it was time for the clueless waitress to call the next table, she just called the number from the party that left previously. The same dickhead just gave her the number they took and she just sat them down. I went up to the waitress and told her this couple just cut in front of about 4 other tables and she just told me he had a number. What the fuck??? At this point, we just got so pissed and left. What a waste of time at this place. The food is not even that good to justify the wait. There are many other hot pot places around the San Gabriel valley to choose from. Stay away from this place!!! All the staff here are morons and they barely speak any English. read more

Boiling Point is a hot pot place that's always super busy, no matter the time or day! It's best to go earlier to put your name on the waitlist to avoid a long wait. Despite the crowds, the experience is definitely worth it. The portions are quite big, and you can choose between noodles or rice, and the broth spiciness level. I always go for mild because you can add more spice afterward if needed. I usually get the Japanese miso, which comes in a huge portion with lots of pork and seafood. The broth is delicious, and I always end up taking home leftovers! If you run out of broth, they'll refill it for you, which is a nice touch. The service is very quick and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need throughout your meal. Another great perk is their rewards program--you can sign up to accumulate points for a free hot pot. It's a fantastic way to get rewarded for enjoying your favorite dishes. One of the worst waiter I've ever met!! I went there on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend. It was pretty empty in the restaurant..only a few tables were occupied. When we walked in, no one greeted us so we sat ourselves down at a table. It took them at least 5 minutes to notice us and brought us the menu. After the waiter put the menus down on our table, he walked away immediately!! It was super empty in the room which made me a little pissed off. Only a minute or two after we got our menu, three young ladies walked into the restaurant. It only took like 10seconds for those three young ladies to receive greetings and their menu. Then he stayed at there table waiting for the girls to order. It's like he is the servant of those girls!! I was like what the hell!? Is he like a pervert or something?? Then I waved at him to order but he did not even notice our existence. Then another waitress came over to order our food and drinks. Somehow she never smiled and looks unhappy... Boiling point also made some small changes to their hot pots which I did not like at all. This is a location I visit quite often. Before COVID, most Boiling Point locations generally had poor and unfriendly service. Among them, this branch was at least one of the better ones. As of now, I would say this location offers the best service compared to all the other branches. The staff ask at just the right moment whether they may turn off the burner, and they come to refill the soup exactly when it's needed. They even bring napkins without being asked, which I truly appreciate. When service is this thoughtful and sincere, there's no reason not to leave a generous tip. I've noticed that the service has improved significantly over time, and I feel genuinely thankful for that. In particular, whenever I see young Asian staff members working diligently, I sincerely hope they all achieve great success in their future endeavors. read more

My first time and I gotta give this place a thumbs down. Looks great in photos, but the reality is flavor is lacking, not as much meat as you think, and simply not a mind blowing meal. I had the Taiwanese Spicy and it was not very spicy. I can handle some serious spicy, but this was just chili oil spicy. Not much flavor. Clams were tiny and after going through most of it, it was mainly full of cabbage and tofu. My nieces had the lamb and beef ones and they weren't all that great tasting either. Everything looked great, but without that yumminess factor, no need to return. Service was solid and fast and I give them 2 stars for that. And I love Taiwanese food (used to have a Taiwanese GF that took me to the best places), but this trendy chain restaurant just didn't do it for me. read more

The server asked if I was ready to order within two minutes of sitting down, which made me feel a bit pressured. Second, I decided to upgrade from regular rice to their new beef bowl. Boiling point is simple and delicious. This place is great on a cold winters day, or very good for the day after a night of hardcore drinking, AKA hangover. They have 10 soup options and that's it. You can add sides, but they don't have extra. Let's say if one bowl has bean sprouts, but you order a different bowl, and wanted to add bean sprouts to it, they won't have extra to let you add on. It took a long time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were not as flavorful as expected, and some items were even served cold. You'll have to wait and it'll make you very upset. -Everyone has to be in your party to be seated. -If it's not hot for you, ask your server to take the fire out. -If your soup has quickly evaporated or you drank all of it too fast, ask for more soup. -the meal comes with a drink, black or green tea. -they blasted EDM music, so just be ready for that. -last point is no joke. Portion size is perfect for me, I finished most of it without being super full like how I usually am when I eat at hotspot places that we have to share the pot. Everything comes out precooked, even the meat (thanks to federal regulations), on top of a flame that's barely covered (you will get burned if you're not careful). Service tends to be slow, and sometimes the wait for a table is really long. Otherwise, it's a pretty cheap place that has tasty food and superb garlic sauce. Make sure to get a stamp card! Be careful with your receipts. This is the second boiling point location where I've experienced them adding more tip for themselves when they entered the charge. I saved my receipt to match up with my monthly bills and noticed they decided to add an additional two dollars in tip to the total amount that I got charged. Just went there 07/08/2014. The price has increased more than 10%. Please be aware and I recommend everybody no to go there for a while. Please think about it, when you will get 10% raise from your company? Is it easy? This is a pretty crowded place so the owner thinks he has the luxury to increase the price so much.
