It was the first time my boyfriend tried coffee from Better Buzz. (He's a big fan of cold brews ). So we got a large cold brew on nitro and could not believe how watery it looked and tasted... Unfortunately, I did not take a picture before we added half and half hoping it would make the drink taste a little better. (We're sadly mistaken). Overall, this place is always super busy... for some reason... Weakest cold brew we've ever had. read more

Five stars. Quality beans, quality food, and the exact ambiance one could resonate with when visiting the beautiful beaches of Encinitas in San Diego. I ordered the Hippie Bowl and a cappuccino. I also tried a Coconut latte another day i went. The coffee has subtle notes of blueberry and honey. My sister ordered a breakfast sandwich and said it was alright. read more

Love it. Is is large for a coffee house and has lots of places to sit. I like the way it's open windows in front make you feel like you are outside a bit. They have all sorts of coffees, milks and teas. They also have food that is great. I think we had avo toast. All I remember was that it was great and that I was happy with their food and coffee. A place to stop into on the weekend if you are able to wait for a delish cup of joe. read more

Better Buzz Coffee - Poached eggs n toast - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Encinitas, California

The best coffee experience in Encinitas. The most beautiful coffee shop with design from door to door. My friend and I were just looking for some caffeine fix, and just stumble upon this super spacious, woodsy, eco-friendly, filled with joy place. Looks like everybody looks good, too good actually, in Encinitas, and with one of those pale turquoise retro coffee cups in hand even better. Seems that you go there for the coffee, and you stay there for hours to browse not necessarily your Facebook page:). Besides, is just right next some of the cutest boutiques in the area, so perfect stop in between shopping those bikinis. I loved everything in there and will be back when in wonderful Encinitas. read more

New Better Buzz coffee shop location in Encinitas fits right in with its modern yet warm décor, very spacious with garage style windows and inviting atmosphere. I stopped by BBC as I was running some errands in that hood, and I was surprised how busy they were on Thursday afternoon! The place was buzzing with people, I guess no one really works in Encinitas, people just enjoy life, drink coffee and surf :) I ordered a latte with a fresh banana bread, that looked irresistible and also a caprese sandwich. The girl, who took my order was really nice and helpful, she made some menu recommendations. I don't have any complains about service. The food and my drink were delivered within just a few minutes after I sat down. My latte was strong, creamy and just hit the spot. Banana bread was soft and moist, it was a perfect marriage or sweet and bitter flavors of expresso and sweet pastry. Overall a cool new coffee spot, lots of organic products like fresh smoothies, juices, acai bowls. Happy to see a local business grow and expand. read more

I stopped in briefly one afternoon and tried the single origin cold brew coffee. There were a few people in line, but I was in and out in a jiffy (my parking spot was questionable at the time and I was in a hurry)! The cold brew was unlike any other I've ever had...in a good way! It's a bit pricey, but the coffee was great and left me 'buzzing' for quite a while. Also to be noted--they have almond and coconut milk dairy alternatives. Only drawback--parking is rough in this area, so leave a few extra minutes to find a space :) Next time I'm going to try the Nutella or avocado toast! read more

I LOVE this place! Such an amazing addition to Encinitas, but the only problem is that everyone else feels the same way. It's usually crowded so parking can be tough, but they are still super fast to get orders out. FOOD/DRINK: They have a huge variety or coffee and espresso drinks here. Their lattes are delish and "the best drink ever" is SO good. It's a little sweet so if you like more of a bitter coffee is might not be for you. The best food here is their avocado toast. It's on thick bread and the avocado is always fresh. Everyone who works here is so nice and they always get the drinks and food out quickly. Also, the decor is really relaxed and it's nice to come here with you computer and get some work done. read more

My coffee was great and the service was phenomenal!! I was able to go right in and out with a well made drink. Definitely coming back!

Nice place, indeed. In driving down from Orange County to SD, Encinitas is a perfectly beautiful place to stop off and enjoy a cup of coffee and morning snack. Better Buzz around 9:30am on a Saturday was CRAZY. It was pretty chaotic, which made it less of a eat, sip and chill place and more of a fight for a seat kind of scenario. Not my favorite, but hey, that says a lot about the local hotspots. What I love about this place is their handcrafted coffee options! If I'm paying more money for my coffee, I usually like it to be more unique than a standard black coffee or latte. I got the Honey Latte, which honestly was not my favorite, but I think I made the wrong choice. The Best Drink Ever of course has that natural appeal. My sister got the Mint Mojito which she downed in no time. Coffee and mint is always a win win. Avocado toast- surprisingly unique and delicious. Loved the feta and tomatoes. And my sister who usually hates any and all forms of tomatoes LOVED that part of it. So yeah, this place might have converted her. And the bread they used was fabulous, seedy and crunchy. I would definitely stop by here on my way down South again! read more

Great coffee and beautiful interior. Parking can be kind of a pain and it's definitely too crowded normally to get any meaningful work done. Food wise I haven't tried very much but their pastries are reasonably priced and pretty tasty. I'll definitely be back in. read more

My friend took me here for a business date. What a lovely atmosphere! I had he horchata latte which was phenomenal! And the Turkey Pesto was great! It's a little bit of a drive from me but it was worth it! It's a cute coffee shop and way more spacious! A louder atmosphere which I did enjoy versus it being so quiet. I hadn't gone there before and saw some specials. Staff is very knowledgeable and welcomed me as a first time customer. I really appreciated the help! As far as sitting in the shop, prepare for bar stools and trying your best to sit on the luxurious booth/couch area. read more

I decided to check out Better Buzz this week. I have seen their locations in other parts of San Diego and have wanted to give them a try. A new location in my neighborhood did the trick. They have a great location in the heart of Encinitas. The layout and decor is perfect. It's bright and comfortable. The perfect combination for a morning coffee or a pick me up. The place was packed. I don't know if it's being new but their was a line at the counter and seating was scarce at 10 am on a weekday. The staff moved quickly though and things moved along. It was good to see they had enough staff to handle the flow of people through the front door. I ordered the Best Drink Ever and it lived up to it's name. It's a Americano with their creamy vanilla. Iced it was the best beverage I've tasted in some time. I also ordered their breakfast sandwich and was not as impressed. Eggs, bacon, siracha aioli on ciabatta was pretty mundane. It was good but not a good value at the price. I will be back. They have moved to the top of my coffee shop list. read more

I really wish the other better buzz locations and management go above and beyond to make customers feel appreciated like this location does. I will not go into too much detail, but as soon as Garret heard about my troubles with the other location, he made things right. I can say this has been the best customer service I've had in a long time hands down. Thank you for all the help, Garret! read more

EXTREMELY impressed with this new location. I am from long beach, but i am in the Vista area constantly throughout the month for work, but I always drove through the stand in San Marcos, and was obsessed with the Iced Americano! I tried their BDE; Best Drink Ever, and it was really really good! I'm not one who drinks sweet too much, so I would probably get a smaller one next time, but regardless, it was delicious. The atmosphere here is incredible with the indoor/outdoor feel when they open up the front of the shop all the way, it's open, airy, and relaxing. There's plenty of seating and most importantly it is comfortable. Everything is extremely rustic, yet mod, there are succulents inside terrariums on almost every table, and if you order drinks "for here" they will come in THE CUTEST little mason jar, or coffee cup. Everyone who works here was so incredibly sweet, I spent four hours on a Sunday morning here doing work, and even ordered more than a couple drinks, but they were welcoming and kind. They have great music playing, and they sell tons of merchandise. Jackets, hats, coffee cups, travel tumblers, t-shirts, and COFFEE. its absolutely great, I love it! read more

GREAT service- both fast and friendly! The line may look long when you arrive but it moves pretty quickly. After ordering, I really didn't wait for my coffee. This used to be my favorite Better Buzz but for the past month the baristas don't know how to make a mint infused coffee. It's tastes absolutely awful, the coffee tastes super burnt and no flavor. I've asked for them to remake it a couple of times but they still make it bad. I don't have this issue at any of the other locations, in fact they're all pretty consistent with their drink quality. Don't know if I'll be back to this location :( read more

Came in 20 mins before closing, manager and the employees were super helpful in picking drinks out and describing them. The Mocha Buzz was made perfect and tasted great. My wife got a chai Frappuccino with a hint of lavender and she loved it as well! Light, flavorful and just the right amount of each flavor. Price is reasonable for the area. Moriah was our barista, great customer service and great at making drinks. Amazing experience overall. Will be back for sure. read more

I've been a frequenter of the Better Buzz booth at Fashion Valley, but once I heard they had their own coffee shop that's on the way to and from work I knew I had to check it out. Located in Encinitas. Decent amount of street parking both in front and in the neighborhood behind this location. Seats in front of the shop and high tables and booth seating inside. Has more drink options compared to the Fashion Valley location and has more food items. My go to order is the Best Drink Ever cause the name speaks for itself, but their seasonal Snickerdoodle Latte is becoming a close second. If I'm not in the mood for coffee, I discovered they have amazing smoothies. I crave their Conscious Chocolate when I want something sweet yet healthy. So if you're looking for a local coffee shop to visit, then find your way here. read more

I enjoyed visiting Better Buzz Coffee on my trip to San Diego. The smoothies we ordered were made quickly from fresh ingredients by a friendly staff. There wasn't anything special about the drinks but were undoubtedly good. The cafe is constantly "buzzing" (spare my pun), and the energy is positive & upbeat like the city itself. I particularly appreciate the no-laptop zones! read more

I was worried when I saw the line out the door that I would stand in line forever to be sadly disappointed by a fad coffee place but the line moved very quickly and I wasn't disappointed in my experience at all! It took a few minutes after I ordered to find an empty seat on a packed Saturday morning but it would've been the same struggle at any local Starbucks. The breakfast sandwich I had was delicious and even better was the vanilla latte I drank. Oh and let's not forget that they put a little design in the latte. So basic and the perfect "fancy" coffee I was searching for. Please open up more restaurants closer to my home Better Buzz and save me from the Starbucks drudgery that I fall into! read more

Officially found my favorite coffee place in SoCal!! I got the ice blended mocha with almond milk instead of whole milk. I thought the almond milk wouldn't taste as good but it was amazing. The inside of the shop is also really cute and a perfect place to study/work. Definitely coming back to try more items off the menu :) read more

3 1/2. Negatives: the place is like the Walmart of coffee. It's huge, very noisy, a little pricier than others, and heavy on the marketing. Positives: they make a pretty good cuppa coffee, they have açai bowls, and are open very late. Was somebody great coffee shops in the area, I come here if I have a craving for a breakfast bowl, or if it's very late. Otherwise, not so much. always crowded, which is good for them-but bad for the already horrible acoustics. If you're thinking of having a business meeting over coffee or a laptop conference call, go elsewhere - way too loud. read more

Came in on a Tuesday morning around 11AM after brunch at Honey's (nearby) for a quick coffee fix before getting on the road back to LA. The interior is very cute and aesthetic with open windows and dangling plants and lights. Music is definitely a bit too loud to do actual work. I ordered a iced horchata latte under their signature drinks and it's espresso layered on top of a layer of horchata which is what the cashier described as "leftovers after Cinnamon Toast Crunch has been dipped in milk" so yummy cinnamon milk -- definitely spot on and gives the perfect balance to bitter coffee. Prices are pretty standard for coffee around $5-6. There were other interesting items on the menu like orange infused matcha, honey latte, lavender lattes and rose water latte as well. If I was a local, I'd probably be here more often!! Waiting for the drink took about 5 mins, not bad. read more

Great place to go to start off your day! There's plenty of items on the menu including coffee, tea, and food! My boyfriend and I got there at around 10am on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded - we got lucky when we found a table! Get there early if you're planning on doing work or meeting up with friends! I am a sucker for coffee shop interiors and this one is just great! Super hip and worthy of Instagram ;) I ordered a Caramel Buzz and my boyfriend got a coffee. Drinks were okay, a little pricey. Definitely worth visiting just because it's so darn cute! read more

I was walking around doing some thrift shopping and stopped in here. I was impressed from the moment I walked in - it had a great atmosphere, and everything is super cool. Great attention to detail. When I stopped gawking and actually made it to the counter the guy was super friendly and patient, I ordered a Iced Vanilla Latte. My drink was ready quickly and it was DELICIOUS! I stayed for a little while and enjoyed my coffee on the sofa like seating. However, after I had left and was attempting to purchase something at the nearby store I realised I no longer had my wallet! I quickly rushed back over to Better Buzz (that's where I had it out last) and even though they had already closed (it was their soft opening, so it closed early) they were super kind and didn't hesitate to let me in and make sure I got my wallet back with all my money/cards still there. Great experience! Can't wait to go back! Best coffee I've had in a long time, if not the best ever. read more

The good: - both their Kenyan and their Costa Rican coffees are excellent - fabulous espresso machines (La Marzocco) - nice vibe, always people sitting inside and outside - open late (all the other coffee places around close at 6:00pm) The not so good: - service is way too slow. I was the only one in line and I had to wait for 12 minutes for a normal cappuccino - latte art somewhat poor. I don't expect three hearts and 10 leaves but a little bit more love for the cup (no spilled milk, no overflowing cup) goes a long way - 4.25$ for a non organic 8oz cappuccino is too much read more

A co-worker told me years ago that Better Buzz had the best coffee. I guess different strokes for different folks. My wife and I stopped for a coffee while headed to the beach to spend some quality time. We both got the regular brew and it came to close to $10. I love coffee so I'm fine with the price, if the coffee tastes good. As it turns out, that cup tasted like Folgers. It was not the best. I'm still giving it 4 stars because there was a pretty varied menu and maybe I should have tried something made with espresso. I'm sure it's great. One thing about coffee shops is that there's a learning curve. You have to know how to order so you get a tasty drink. I'll be back and take more time to try something else. They are quite popular, service was nice, and it's a really cute shop. read more

Better Buzz is where I go when my daughters want something in particular from there. I've never gone there because it's simply the best place ever...although to be fair, the food and most coffee drinks are quite good. Just checked the menu to specify what I've liked and didn't, but can't find the last few I've had so I'll have to wing it here: I love coconut. Had something that sounded overwhelmingly coconut-y, which should have been amazing but was too sweet. I've never had straight coffee here but their espresso concoctions have always been good. I'm not sure why Better Buzz is always so busy, tbh, given the many other options in Encinitas--and it is ALWAYS busy. I think the lines make people believe it's slightly better than Lofty Bean or Ironworks or one of the many others nearby with higher quality coffee. Service is always good without being outstanding, because: always busy. I can't imagine anyone actively disliking Better Buzz, besides its busyness. The interior is pleasant, if sterile, especially compared to Pannikin. The coffee drinks can be very good, but we're blessed with an abundance of charming, excellent coffee places in Encinitas which are slightly better. read more

Two visits in three days, maybe my new favorite coffee shop. The iced vanilla latter is the BEST I've ever had. I really want to come back and try the whole menu. Coffee is fantastic, food is good, vibe is awesome... I've stood here for more than 15 minutes without anyone working on drinks. We've tried Better Buzz, twice with the same poor results. We unfortunately decided to try it again today, but at the Encinitas location, which we have driven by on numerous occasions on our way to the beach. From the outside it looks have a mixture of urban meets modern country, but don't let that trendy look deceive you!! It was open before 7 am, so decided to give it a shot (no pun intended as we didn't get our shots)! We ordered two Americanos; a large and a medium or more accurately what we thought was an Americano. Due to quarantine, we were wearing our required masks. I went to take a sip of my Americano before we left to see if I needed more sugar. Immediately i was scolded by the girl behind the counter to put on my mask. We were at least 15 feet apart with plexiglass in front of me. So, her look and tone were exaggerated and out of line or I guess your not allowed to sip while in the store. In that case; my bad, but seriously there was no need for attitude to any customer, especially when I was not rude to her. I put my mask up and walked out. We didn't drink our faux coffees until our arrival at our destination. I use Faux because Better Buzz forgot to add the coffee shots. Yes, you read that right!! There was no coffee in our Americanos. How do you forget to add the coffee into an Americano? It's a coffee shop; seems pretty basic. Thanks for the over priced, warm cream water. I'd like a refund. We did not go back as we were miles down the road and wanted to walk the beach. We did call Better Buzz to advise that we were drinking basically water with cream. The guy who answered the phone readily admitted the girl, a trainee C, had forgot to put in our americano shots. Well if she had allowed me to properly taste my drink I would have known then; not miles down the road. Thanks for an overpriced water!! read more
