Had the caramel buzz which was extra sweet.. atmosphere was ok, not like a regular coffee shop, it looks more clubby in a way! Not very cozy, but hey, that's there theme anyway. read more

Better Buzz Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Encinitas, California

Almost a 5 star. I LOVE the vanilla powder they have! My drink is. Quad shot over ice with the vanilla powder. The last couple of times I've had my drink the powder has not been stirred in and it was clumped up on the bottom. Usually it's delicious, but it's been lacking lately. read more

This place is the epitome of hipster - coffee, rustic community tables, terrariums, boxed water... I give Better Buzz Coffee in general 4 stars because although it's a bit pricey, their drinks are made well and taste amazing. I give this location an extra star because it's an actual café (as opposed to just those tiny Better Buzz drive-thrus that you see around San Diego), which was pretty cool. It was really clean and spacious. We ordered a BDE ("Best Drink Ever") and a matcha (green tea) latte to go. Got our drinks within minutes of ordering, and they both tasted heavenly. I always get the BDE but wanted to try something different, so I opted for the green tea latte. IT WAS SO GOOD. I love green tea drinks that actually have that green tea flavor! Props to this location. I would visit again if I'm heading down the 5 freeway from the OC to SD. This café is located in a busy road in Encinitas, so parking might be difficult. They do have a small lot next to the entrance in the back though. read more

Better Buzz Coffee - Matcha Latter and the BDE. Both excellent choices! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Encinitas, California

Burnt the absolute daylights out of my tongue on a hot latte... didn't ask for extra hot or anything in that manner. I work in coffee and couldn't believe it, super inconsistent. Food is okay, would enjoy lunch again. Beautiful space but you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Staff has been rude multiple times, wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and say someone was just having a bad day but absolutely no conversation what so ever - Feels like they just want you in and out. read more

Good coffee and good marketing but the service is abysmal. 10 minutes or more each time I go. Don't see a sense of urgency from the staff.

Excellent service! Thanks to this fun staff I've been able to try so many fun things on the menu, like the Lavendar Black Tea Latte, Horchata Latte, or the newest: Coconut Buzz (try it with coconut milk!) Hands down Cate and Anita have always been so kind to me and make my drinks with all the specific choices to fit my needs (I can be picky) The food is delicious and very wholesome! The multigrain thick toast they use is so amazing and just the right crunch under loads of avocado! I like the 3 seed avocado toast with feta and eggs! It's so complex and delicious! The space is very picture worthy for stylish posts and has an amazing open air feel, the plants give it a nice homey feel, so quaint. read more

A nice quiet place to study with open doors and windows. Very hipster vibe. Their coffee is great but a bit more than Starbucks. They have simple decor and have ceiling fans running. They got baked goods like scones and cupcakes. Right now they have a promotion to buy a bag of coffee and get a $5 gift card. I think this is great place to come and do work. I would recommend the honey bee coffee if you something a little sweeter. The mint coffee didn't taste like mint, just normal coffee until it watered down. The matcha with oat milk, tasted more like oat milk in my opinion. My friend said matcha was 8/10. Priced around $7.50-$10 read more

My favorite Better Buzz location! The staff is really nice. I always asked for a drink recommendation and their choice is always great, never disappoints! All their drinks are good and consistent. They also serve food and açaí bowls, I'll try them next time. read more

This review is not about the coffee but actually about their almond butter toast!! It is so good, big, and a great price!! Will definitely be coming back for that! read more

When you enter this place, it looks very nice and well thought out. The buildout is nice. But this is a second wave coffee shop posing as a third wave coffee shop. The coffee was really bad when we came. It tasted burnt, metallic, and flat. I couldn't drink more than a few sips. We literally left or full cups sitting on the table and walked out. It was that bad. The people that work there are extremely nice, but there isn't a deep understanding of the coffee or how to make it very well. If you are looking for high quality coffee prepared well, you may want to look elsewhere. read more

This is my favorite coffee in San Diego county! You need to get their Honey latte or their BDE (Best Drink Ever). The coffee beans don't taste BURNT like some other coffee places I know. The BDE has their signature vanilla powder which is smooth ad creamy. It isn't cheap and it isn't low calorie but it is SO good! The décor is really nice too! Very modern with clean lines and lots of outlets to charge your electronics! I totally recommend! read more

Best chai latte since the Nordstrom ebar. Love the ambiance and they all seem to be packed. Try this place for your daily fix.

Great coffee spot on the 101 in Encinitas. The craft coffee is wonderful. Favorites are the iced vanilla bean latte and the best drink ever, which I do agree with. It is combination of classic americano and the signature creamy vanilla. Yum! We also like the feta advocado which is an open faced grain toast with advocado, crumbled feta, cherry tomatoes and a side of arugula. It is to die for! read more

Lots of power ports. Sounds like such a nerdy thing to say but one of the first things I look for when I sit down at a coffee shop is an electrical outlet. It feels like Starbucks hasn't gotten the memo on this one. Other than at the center island seating area at this coffee shop pretty much every seat has a place to plug in. Caffeine buzz. Electrical buzz. Well played. Thomas Edison would be proud. My go to here is the "best drink ever". It's an Americano with vanilla syrup. The teas are very good here. I recommend the Matcha. Beyond that there is a nice choice of organic juices and smoothies. This place definitely sees plenty of my business. The sound can be defining at times. Baked goods here are good but nothing stands out. The interior structure might benefit from a bit of sound dampening material but that would likely take away from its ambience. All in all a very cool little coffee shop. read more

Great coffee and their breakfast sandwiches are pretty solid. The line was sizeable on a Saturday morning which sucked but the staff powered through it. Seating can also be difficult on the weekends, so be prepared for that. I'll gladly say the coffee and food make up for the crowd. read more

I've been here 3 times now- every time the staff is so pleasant and helpful. While the place has varied with how busy it can be, I can always find someplace to sit and enjoy my ICED GIBRALTER- Because it's amazing!! I'd never thought to try this place- thought it was just like all the other coffee chains. It is not! The coffee is better, by a lot. Also, I had my first-ever avocado toast here and it was delicious! read more

I popped in here while visiting from out of town. It's a cute shop, with friendly folks. The coffee was strong & tasty!

Give it 3.5 stars, & round it up to 4*s. Not bad, but nothing exceptional either. I think the staff could be a little nicer (Every-time) for their overall average product. EXCEPT the iced coffee gem 'Best Drink Ever'. Yeah... it's really good! read more

I come here every time I find myself in Encinitas. Better Buzz is such an amazing coffee place! My favorite drink is the Caramel Buzz, but there's nothing bad you can get on the menu. Food is great too! Awesome place to grab coffee, food, hang out, and maybe even take a few pictures! The mural on the back of the building is also fun for photos! read more

If you like strong coffee, this isn't the coffee shop for you. I had a quad breve americano and it tasted like black tea. It was $8, and for that much money I expected a better tasting coffee. The service is good, but the line and price isn't worth it. read more

Customer service: 3/5 only because we got an "annoying vibe" because we came in with a group of 7 people(3 days in a row). That's subjective though...I give this place 5 starts in general. Coffee 5/5: delicious. They have vanilla powder and syrup. The powder makes it thick and luscious. Food 4/5 : the avocado toast is delicious!! The ham brioche is oily. My friend and I ordered toast.. hers was significantly larger than mine. Kinda weird..meh. Seating/space: 4/5. This place is always FULL, but it's worth waiting around for a spot. Environment: 5/5. The decor is fab. Very inviting. Staff is mostly pleasant and friendly. :) read more

I had to check out what all the hype was about, and Better Buzz lived up to expectations! The atmosphere is really chill, if I lived closer by this is the kind of place I'd want to go study at. Nice decor, clean, and a great place to people watch (right on a main street, near the beach!). I was sold as soon as I saw they had a mint mocha; I'm a sucker for mint anything. So I ordered a mint mocha ice blended, and it was delicious! Oh, and the staff is super friendly. It seems like they're having a good time and actually want to be there, which is a major plus! read more

Ariel is the best manager in the entire Encinitas area. All the coffee shops in North County need to hire someone as professional, kind, fun and competent as Ariel. The staff is very nice and they seem to get along well, and every time I'm there the line moves without long delays, there is no stress among the employees, and I just love my chai tea lattes. Better Buzz is a great place to get together with friends, a great place to sit and relax and watch people while sipping a great drink and savoring a delicious sandwich, and the great thing too, their prices are fair. Ariel and her team ROCK! read more

I've lived in Carlsbad my whole life but finally got the opportunity to try out Better Buzz this morning for the "traditional Socal" breakfast. I consider myself to be an avocado toast connoisseur, and Better Buzz did not disappoint. Their three-seed toast was rich in flavor and the avocado was perfectly ripe. The combination of the watermelon radish complemented the seeds and the lemon excellently. I also ordered the iced matcha latte with almond milk; it was a bit on the sweeter end (I'm not too fond of sweet drinks) however, any drink other than a cold brew with almond milk is considered sweet for me. I have to say, though, it went well with the savoriness of the avocado toast. Would go again. read more

Love getting buzzed here all the time and the employees are ALL SO GREAT. I come here all the time and for a guy who doesn't like coffee they have teas that surprisingly taste AMAZING. This was a fairly large location of the Better buzzed cafes. We ordered two açaí bowls (The OG and the Hippie) and also a cold Best Drink Ever. The Best Drink Ever doesn't have dairy in it, surprisingly, but it is creamy and sweet! The bowls were very yummy too, higher quality açaí than some other cafes I've been to. Lots of generous toppings. Pretty good value and the price was fair. Lots of seating both inside and out. Parking is street only, they have a tiny lot in the back as well. read more

This place is so great, the coffee even better, and staff super friendly. Also home to the "best drink ever" which was actually pretty legit. Maybe an overstatement for a name, but also something they could argue successfully for. Hit it - dat #buzzlife read more

I'm thankful that stores are gradually opening up however I will not be going back here for a cup of coffee again. The cold brew tastes like yoghurt diluted with water -has the same acidic flavor that a spoon of Fage would. The cortado tasted like Nescafé mixed with milk-no flavor profile except for a chalky chocolate and the rose water latte, well, does disservice to both rose water and a latte. Sorry, I am a coffee snob but when I pay $5 for a drink I expect it to be good, money doesn't grow on trees but apparently their customers think so-the place is packed. read more

This place is adorable and the coffee was delicious! Line was kinda long on a Saturday morning, but it moved quickly. Our drinks were ready really fast since we just got cold brews, however our breakfast sandwiches to go took a really really long time.. it was good but nothing extraordinary that i cant wipe up in 3 minutes at home. I'd come back for drinks for sure but maybe not for food. Not on weekends at least. Love the mason jars and succulents around tho :) read more

I was a regular at the San Marcos location long before the Encinitas Better Buzz opened up, so I was stoked when this location opened. They have done a great job with the ambiance and decor, and I love the open window seating looking out on 101. They have some fun espresso drinks, including a honey latte, vanilla bean latte, and mint mojito! I love their BDE (best drink ever), but it's too sweet for my taste so I usually get about 1/2 as sweet. They even have cold brew on tap! Food-wise they have some good toast options, sandwiches, acai bowls. It's always crazy busy at this location, so while I've tried to come here before to work, I usually end up going somewhere else. It's usually hard even getting a 2-person table in the back to sit with a friend, so that shows you how busy and popular it is! All in all, awesome location, excellent coffee, and fun ambiance! read more

One of the coolest coffee places I've been to. While visiting Moonlight Beach, my friends and I decided to grab coffee on the way out. I have been coming to better buzz for years. I love EVERYTHING here.everyone is so welcoming and wonderful. Unfortunately today I had an incident with an employee where they wouldn't accommodate my banana allergy for the first time ever since they have been open. I was shocked and put off by being discriminated against for an allergy that isn't my fault. After leaving upset, I called and the manager (Connie) made it right! I was pleased by the way they fixed the situation that was poorly handled by an employee. Due to this situation being handled so wonderfully. I would 100% recommend better buzz for anyone (food allergies or not!) thank you! read more

So in love with this coffee shop in Encinitas! I was traveling and had to work remote one day so I stopped in for a few hours. I ordered the horchata iced latte, I was hesitant because I hate sweet coffee drinks but the girl working was so nice and recommended I try it with half cold brew and half of the horchata and espresso combo - AMAZING. I also ordered their almond butter toast, I typically think the whole toast craze is overrated as I've had too many times where the toast looks beautiful but tastes very average...not at Better Buzz, everything from the bread to almond butter to light drizzle of jam was delicious and definitely something I'd order again. read more
