This place was packed on a Saturday afternoon so I had high hopes for the food. We parked in the neighborhood behind the restaurant but later realized it has its own parking lot in the back that we should've parked in. Most of the seating was out front at tables with umbrellas over them but there was also indoor seating. We ordered inside and were given beepers so we could go outside and look for seats while waiting. My friend and I split two sandwiches so we could try both, and this was really easy since they automatically cut each one in half Portobello sandwich: 5/5 I liked this one more than I expected. We almost didn't order it too because it wasn't included on the big menu Cubano: 4/5 I liked it but this was a bit salty for me House chips: 4/5 good but nothing crazy My friend also ordered a turketta with the sauces on the side so I tried that with the chips. Cool spot! Love that it's not only a deli, but a coffee bar too. And also attatched to a bike store I believe? I have had the Turketta here before (which is delicious), today I tried the Pastrami-Ruben. The rye-bread was the star of the show because it had the perfect "CRUNCH", I believe they crisp it with butter. 10/10 crunch factor. I think next time, for my personal preference, I will do mustard in place of the thousand island (thousand island was delicious, I just don't tend to love sweet sauces, but love Rubens) so give it that extra savory-ness. Cute location and ambiance. Minimal seating inside, but super close to the beach. Great spot to grab a 'wich and go have a sunset picnic. Service was friendly! Only caveat: I had a hard time paying $20 for a sandwich- no drink or chips. I know times are challenging right now, but I still just had a tough time with that. Unless they use all natural, seed-oil free ingredients, I would be more down with that. But I am not unsure the impression that's the case- could be wrong though. read more

Change is not always good for the food business and this is proven to be true for the new management at Moto Deli. Chef Andy recently sold his interest in the business and moved back to the East Coast. The Chef and the manager of Valentina are now the principal operators and have made changes to the menu that are not positive. The Italian sandwich is now the 'Spicy Italian' with jardiniere, and Sun Dried Tomatoes, and unfortunately less meat that is not as flavorful as before. The Pastrami sandwich is no longer on the menu, and this is not a loss as it no longer resembled the brined and pickled flavor of Pastrami. The Banh Mi sandwich has lost its authentic flavor due to changes in the preparation and products previously used. Even though Moto Deli was extremely busy during our visit, I am interested in knowing if it was based on past customer experiences, and if the menu changes will be accepted by the public. read more

Great little deli and coffee bar! Had their signature Turketta, but was already looking forward to trying a few other sandwiches! Their signature turketta was excellent and so was their chicken bahn mi! If I wasn't as hungry I would've definitely tried a coffee as all the cyclists making a stop had wonderful looking drinks! As the deli is connected to a high end cycle shop, on PCH, this place is heavily visited by passing by cyclists, which made the ambiance a lot of fun as well. Highly recommend this place. We stopped by for a grilled cheese that was under $10 and immediately hit the spot. Some of the other sandwiches were quite pricey like the pastrami or roast beef coming in at $17, but the menu has so many options to choose form, that I would like to come back and try more of the menu. read more

I haven't been to Moto Deli since their new location and my review still stands at four stars. The new location is bigger and has dedicated parking as well as street parking. The salads are BOMB! The ingredients mixed with the ranch dressing in the Cobb salad was the best I have ever had. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm pretty sad about my experience here. I thought the sandwiches had good quality ingredients but weren't insanely flavorful but maybe it's just what I ordered. Could've been better with hot sauce, so I shall try that next time. Every time I visit my friend from north county we make a stop here! This last time we got the Turketta and Italian and both were great, though the Turketta was my favorite. To get a sandwich from a locally owned restaurant in North County and it be under $20 is rare. But moto deli delivers quality sandwiches at a reasonable (tho I wouldn't call it cheap) price. I loved that you could grab a coffee or browse the nearby bike shop while waiting for your sandwich. Service was great and the wait time was told to you and was accurate. Great place. Right next to cadence cyclery. We ride our bikes down from Murrieta, and always stop here for lunch. It's great because they have places where you can put your bikes and see them, but also a parking lot and on street parking so that if you have a car and put your bike on the back of a car, you can see your car easily. I had such high hopes for this place and was so disappointed. If you have celiac do not go here!!! I can go almost anywhere and find something I can eat I do not expect businesses to cater to my allergies. With that said I won't ever go here again. When we went to order I asked if I could have the sandwich without the bread all the fixings were fine. I was told the chef doesn't do exceptions so I explained I'm not modifying his food I just can't have the bread I have celiac. She said it doesn't matter the chef doesn't like to modify but she would ask and I could tell she was so worried about asking. REALLY that is crazy So she came back out and said he would do it, like he's doing me a favor?? I should have known at that point to leave. We didn't. So we ordered two sandwich's and a side salad with two drinks. It's one person up front so the drinks took awhile... We were waiting and waiting for food.. People came in after us and got their food before us. I thought maybe they had called it in but it got to be ridiculous so I went in and asked, I was told if the buzzer we gave you isn't vibrating it isn't ready. OK then... Everything about this deli is so great. Service at the counter was thoughtful and polite and our order came out quickly. There are picnic tables outside with umbrellas and there are a couple of booths and a few bar seats inside. The sandwiches are DELICIOUS! I can't wait to go back and try more but we had the Chopped Cheese, the Turketta and the Banh Mi today and all 3 were so fresh and filling. The super food salad makes you feel alive! Not one to write negative reviews but very concerned with how terrible and awful smelling the bathroom hallway and bathrooms were this weekend. It was the worse smelling bathroom/urinal smell I've ever been exposed to. To be honest it completely ruined my appetite. Please get this issue fixed!
