This was our first visit to the Regal Seagull. Parking was great we were lucky enough to get a spot right in front of the entrance. The bartender was very welcoming. Regal Seagull is overall just a great classic bar in Leucadia. Great beer (and wine and and some kombucha and seltzers) selection with great bites. We especially love the wings and the Philly cheesesteak. We came up for a staycation and decided to go to the Regal Seagull after seeing positive reviews and a variety of options on the menu. We went around 9:30pm and ordered hard cider, a chicken sandwich, two-sausage sampler (since they are known for those) and buffalo wings. Everything was fabulous. My son said the grilled chicken sandwich was the best he's ever had. My husband enjoyed the buffalo wings, and we all thought the Portuguese pineapple sausage and jalapeño cheddar sausages were fabulous. The Padres game was on the TVs inside which was perfect. Service was good and the place is decorated in sports decor. They have a mustard bar and they give you a name (someone else's, like a tv character) rather than a number for your order. The place had a lot of character. We enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come back. We sat inside but the patio was also lovely and inviting. read more

Stumbled into The Regal Seagull on a random weeknight and hit the jackpot--it was trivia night. No plans, just vibes, and somehow ended up in a full-blown competition over 90s sitcom facts. The crowd was fired up, the questions were just the right mix of clever and absurd, and the whole energy of the place was contagious. When you order food, they don't call out your name--they hand you a hilarious alias. I was Batman, and my friend was Archie Bunker. Every time someone's name got called, the whole bar chuckled. It's a small touch, but it makes the whole place feel fun and lighthearted. Now let's talk food: the portions are huge, and you have to try the green bean fries. Crispy, seasoned perfectly, and addictive. We shared a few dishes and honestly could've fed a third person without trying. Great craft beer selection, too. Heads up though--trivia night fills up fast. We got lucky with a table, but about 20 minutes later people were hovering like seagulls at a beach picnic. Get there early if you want a seat. Overall, quirky, delicious, and unexpectedly competitive in the best way. Would absolutely go again--maybe next time I'll be Gandalf. read more

The bartenders were absolutely on top of everything, including: Sunday Football game requests, entertaining and engaging customers, getting my food order in under 10 minutes, etc. Mike and Mark were so great and attentive...I felt very welcome. The good: It's definitely a dive bar. The less-good: It's not a very fun dive bar. I've been several times and it has been dead. Bartenders not very friendly. Many times and many different bartenders have been stand off-ish and very curt. You order at the bar and seat yourself. Kind of dirty. Quiet and weird vibes. The shared bathrooms with other businesses are far away and not so clean. Drinks are fine, overpriced, but you can sit on the 101 which is always a plus. read more

We ordered a sampler plate with the chicken sausage and Mediterranean sausage and chips. It was really good and the chips are on point!!! Not a lot of GF options with drinks. The Regal Seagull offers up a large selection of beer as well as bar foods. A somewhat small and narrow divey bar-feeling with some TVs around. Feels like a locals place. We opted for 2 beers and got an assorment of "Snackatizers" as well as 2 sausages. The Mini Corn Dogs are pretty standard and the fried cheese curds are essentially mozzarella sticks. I enjoyed the several types of mustard that you could get yourself as they really went well with the corn dogs. The cheese curds are served with a very chunky and cold marinara sauce which was not preferred. It needed to be hot for sure and the cold chunks made it impossible to dip the curd and have the sauce stick on it. The beers were decent and overall it was just an okay place to grab a bit to eat. read more

When your food is ready you'll hear loud and clear over the speaker. Similar to the Beagle, plenty of indoor seating, but I believe the Seagull may win when it comes to outdoor options.
