TLDR; better than I expected for being the only restaurant open past 9 pm in a resort. Having just landed from MD we checked into the Omni around 9 pm on a Friday night and pretty hungry. At first I was surprised by the number of options on the menu - especially the appetizers. I would say I was interested in more of the appetizers than the entrees. Prices are higher but as expected since it's part of the resort. David got the fish and chips and I ordered the soup of the day. At first I was told it was the creamy cauliflower but later told that it was the tortilla soup, which was fine but it would've been nice to know if we hadn't already 10-15 minutes for the food. Fish and Chips: These came out piping hot and the pieces of fish were much larger than expected. Also beer battered fries are *chefs kiss* (the only way they should be served). The batter was seasoned well but the fish itself could have used more seasoning. Tortilla Soup: Holy cow for $10 this is actually a pretty good deal. The bowl was huge and it's definitely enough for me as a late dinner. I liked that there were tortilla chips in the soup as it needs some differing textures (otherwise tastes just like a one note of blended beans and tomatoes). Love the cool ambiance and is a nice chill place to hang out for a late night dinner or at the bar! read more

Came here for Easter brunch. Parking is either valet or self parking. Self-parking you get a ticket and restaurant validates. If you want to do self-parking, make sure you wear comfortable shoes as it is a long walk. My cousin ordered the cesar salad and she said it was delicious. I hs the fish and chips and the fish was nice and crispy and not dry. One of the best fish and chips I've had. Dessert, we had a complimentary brownies with ice cream on top and that was very good. We decided to get the churros as well and that was a winner. Definitely a place to go to again. read more

We had a fabulous experience for my birthday yesterday at Bar Traza. We sat in the patio for a late lunch and the view was great! Our waiter, Zach, was fabulous! He was friendly, personable, helpful and right there for anything we needed. The female hostess (sorry forget her name; it was a different name) was friendly and very informative. We had cocktails and shared the shrimp and the flatbread, which were both excellent. We then received a complimentary wonderful brownie/ice cream dessert. I stayed at the hotel for a few nights, and everything about the restaurant--from the service to the breathtaking views--was outstanding! Jacob and Camille at the front desk were incredible. They went above and beyond to make my family, including our toddler and three-month-old, feel genuinely welcomed and at ease. Their warmth and attentiveness made a big difference. We had a dinner here at hotel del Coronado with our 3 kids. It was a really nice experience. I got the salmon on farro - delicious!!! The kids meals were generous and the kids salmon and rice was one of the best kids meals I've seen on vacation. We also got the steak frites for them and the grilled chicken. The kids meals come with a drink and a huge cookie. I would say with kids sit inside, I saw a ton of tables with kids inside but outside seemed to be more adult only tables. Bar Tirzah is located in the Omni resort in the Omni resort. My expectation was very high when it came to the restaurant when you walk in to the lobby of the hotel by. It is on the left. it has a true true bar, big screen TVs. Great fun ambience, especially when the golfers are there after a golf game. There are different levels to the restaurant. You can sit at the Bar, outside on the large patio deck and an patio with a few tables and fire pit. I went in a Friday night. It was packed. If you go you need to be prepared their will be more kids ( 10 and under) than you would expect. The service was good , but you could tell they were under staffed. M waiter , Jonathan, was working hard. He made the evening. The food was decent. The drinks we're good. Nothing wow, just decent. read more

This will be a pretty short review as I didn't spend too much time here but overall a positive experience. We dropped in after a spa day at the resort to grab some wine and nibbles. We were seated within a few minutes. The ambiance was relaxing although a bit loud because it was almost dinner time. There was patio seating too if you preferred but we sat inside. The snacks we ordered were standard and we were too full of wine to get anything else. And there were your usual suspects on the wine list. Although I think our server was new and had never heard of Malbec before. Otherwise, service was prompt and our experience was good. It's also conveniently located close to valet so we didn't have far to walk. The resort is huge to navigate so that was a plus! read more

Ordered food to go to eat in our room when staying at the hotel. We ordered and they said it would be 20mins. Went to pick it up and they had no order. We then placed another order and finally got food after about an hour ordeal. We got wings which were just ok. Kids Mac and cheese was bland but edible needed salt and pepper. We also got chips and guacamole which was probably the best thing we got. Didn't get pictures cause we were starving by the time we got food. Probably would opt for the marketplace food over here if staying at the resort. read more

Came here to meet my BF's friend while he was in town, and the place was so cute, the staff was so accommodating, my BF has recently had ACL replacement surgery, and they gave us the couch to sit at, and made sure that someone could serve us so he didn't have to stand and order at the bar. The Gin and Tonic was a good pour, my BF and hid friend enjoyed their beer. The guy waiting on us was very attentive. Overall a great experience for a hotel lobby bar. read more

During my time at a conference in Carlsbad, CA, I attended a happy hour event sponsored by one of the vendors at Bar Traza. It was a large event, where half the restaurant was booked. Even with all the people attending the service was great as the bar tenders and servers were constantly making and delivering drinks to the attendees. There was also catered food made by the restaurant. All of it was delicious, but those meatballs were special. All in all it was a great event, and I enjoyed spending time and talking to the other attendees. read more

Then I tried the grains and greens bowl, with steak. Ambience - cute place at lobby of onni. They have more outside seating. I liked the decor but from pictures I was expecting more. I was excited to have this food. Food - I was thinking more Mediterranean food but it was more American food. First day I had lemon grass chicken with noodles. It was food amount and good. We also got nachos that was good. Saturday I had fish and chips and the fish was fresh and so was the fries. Lots of food. Service- Friday the service was amazing even though we sat far and there a big conference going on. On sunday..the service was not great. I forgot her name but she shook her head from behind when my nice dropped her milk on the floor and my cousin saw it. She didn't seem happy to serve us. The hostess was fun and friendly (19 year old blonde, didn't catch her name), and our server was great as well. We got the shrimp appetizer, but our entrees were really where the money was. I loved my lemongrass chicken and vermicelli noodles, and my husband was really happy with his half Reuben half tomato soup, especially since it also came with another side! Located inside the Omni resort, nice bar/restaurant, but the prices are also very expensive. Service was a bit slow. Came here one afternoon to get a quick bite to eat, and some drinks. The resort is really nice, although parking is a little bit hard to find they do complimentary valet, parking for a few hours during the day, but you do have to pay tips. We got a table near the bar, and it took them a while to come over and take our order. They had a pretty extensive drinks menu, but the food menu is limited. We ordered a few appetizers to share. The drinks were all pretty tasty, although expensive. The food was mediocre, and the service was painfully slow and very absent for a high end establishment like this place, I definitely expect better. Beautiful place to get a drink overlooking the golf course, but I probably wouldn't eat here. read more

Easter Sunday. Beautiful warm afternoon. I decided to take my mother to the feature restaurant at Omni La Costa. Booked a reservation on open table for patio seating, and headed over. On arrival, complimentary valet was busy but efficient. Also free which is rare at resorts. We strolled into the restaurant and announced our reservation and reaffirmed our request to sit outside. We were rudely and aggressively told "those seats are reserved." With not a soul in the restaurant, I blinked in disbelief "Reserved?" "They are being held" she responded. We were shown a seat in the far corner away from the bar... and frankly everything else, right under the air conditioning. Immediately, a weird smell entered our nostrils. Cigarettes? Spoiled meat? Funky perfume? You couldn't help but scrunch your nose up at it. At this point, my mother and I were looking at eachother ready to leave. I decided to stick around for a beer and appetizer. Our waiter came over and it must have been his first day on the job. He was shaking, stuttering, spilled our waters then couldn't pour a beer in a glass for me without spilling a quarter of it. He then disappeared from the restaurant after serving us drinks and taking our food order. The 20 minute "beer and appetizers" turned into 45 minutes of trying to get my bill and choking on the smell of stale cigarettes and gross perfume. I wont be coming back. The whole experience was immensely disappointing... oh, and the fries were gross. read more

The NYE eve event was a bust! Paid for our tickets only to receive a wristband and walk into a very small overcrowded area that had very limited seating. Looks like they sold as many tickets as they could with no regard for the patrons attending. Ticket was supposed to include champagne and dessert. There was a small dessert bar and the champagne was only for the toast at midnight. We bought our own drinks at the bar and tried to find a place to stand. After standing for a while and seeing that there wouldn't be a place to sit at all, we left. Just as well since I was sick all night from being fed dairy (which I have an allergy to) at Bobs Steakhouse at the Omni. Expected more for the price and caliber of the Omni. Will not be returning. We come here all the time. It's a perfect spot for drinks and dinner. Valet is free. It gets crowded during the week when there are conventions at the resort, but the place is huge. I think it's overlooked by locals because it's inside the lobby of the Omni, but it's a great sorts bar and lounge. read more

She was so attentive to our party it started with two people and ended up with seven - as soon as the next person sat down she brought a water and asked for our order. A bar is a bar usually but when you have a server like Leanna it makes it extra special (I am talking and texting because I can't see- ha ha. I had the medium rare New York Steak with Argentinian chimichurri sauce, alongside warm potato salad with pancetta. The dinner meal was very flavorful and satisfying. I recently discovered this place and I'm so happy that I did! The patio seating overlooks the golf course and the interior decor is very elegant. The dining area has a really nice lounge and fire place. I've been here twice and both times I got the shrimp Cesar salad and I love it. My boyfriend got the poke bowl and he liked his too. We ordered a bottle of the wine and the waitress just sat it down in the ice bucket and walked away, she looked young so it's no big deal but I've never experienced that before. A local, the lounge area at La Costa Omni was a 'go to' - cozy settings, lounge areas and booths, upscale, great quality comfort/bar food, with a good sized menu . We were so curious to try it's new Mediterranean incarnation to Bar Traza. Gone were the cozy couches and booths, more impersonal like a Marriott than a luxury resort. The menu much smaller and limited food options. Roberto our waiter was fabulous and fun, Monique was also and I so appreciated her mask. We started with the Corn Fritters - more like falafel- lots of chick pea flour, tons of cumin and a few corn kernels, very dry and hard. The mussels and clams were average - normally it's all about the broth/sauce, but this was more a tomato paste texture, not meant for dredging the bread. The grains and greens salad was more greens than grains (which is fine as I LOVE arugula), and I had to hint for the grains. The dried figs were oddly hard as rocks and one went flying when I tried to cut with a knife and fork. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as fun and yummy and comfy as in the past and unlikely to go back as it wasn't the atmosphere we go to the sports lounge for (at least the screens were still all up)! read more

We came in on Labor Day weekend. I had their Shrimp Caesar Salad, our daughter loved her Impossible Burger----declaring it the best Impossible Burger she's ever had. Our sons enjoyed their Cheeseburgers. Hubby ordered the Fish & Chips. He devoured his meal. The pluses: beautiful fire pits, delicious food, free refills on the sodas, attentive, kind and wonderful waitress. Our waitress "Caroline" was attentive and a delight. She anticipated our needs and made it seem as though she was genuinely happy to have us. We loved her energy, her attention to detail and her positive sense of humor. The minuses: we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. Small children ran havoc throughout the patio area. Darting between waiters carrying hot food and drinks. We watched in disbelief as two small boys (maybe ages 4 and 6) scaled the brick wall to perch about 5 feet above the cement. Surprisingly for an upscale dining area there were way too many little kids running amuck. Parents completely oblivious. Waiters carrying hot plates of food and drinks with small children literally running around them. Management completely ignored the hazards of kids playing near the open fire pits and climbing the walls. One other improvement would be some sort of lighting at the tables once night fell. It became too dark to even read a menu. Delicious Chocolate Brownie. Their lemonade could stand improvement--it tastes processed. read more

We absolutely loved being in this beautiful hotel on the 4th! Sitting at the bar was a huge treat! Really the best cosmopolitan I ever tasted! And my husband loved their rendition of a Woodford Old Fashioned! Fun food and stellar service by Nick the bartender!! Views galore and lots of places to sit and enjoy your food and drink but nothing beats sitting at the bar. Can't wait to go back and try something new! Love the awesome valet service too. Great service and excellent food... as expected. Bar Traza is an attractive venue, whether you're seated inside or out, and the valet parking is no charge. We sat outdoors with a great view of much of La Costa Resort, the golf course, and pool. The staff was excellent, polite and fun and everyone enjoyed their meals. The lunch menu is not extensive, but it is well done and some of the dishes we ordered had an interesting and excellent flare. Just be careful if you orders drinks here.
