Legit sandwich shop. Good and fresh tasting. Great prices. No frills kinda place on the inside but clean eating area and facilities. Lots of sandwich options. I like that you can choose the size you want (6", 9" or 12") and customize your order. I got the Italian on white roll and loved the veggies you can add, all the basic ones. I got the 6" and it was filling! I ate 3/4 and half my chips. My husband loved his sandwich which had turkey, bacon and ham. I had a bite, it was good, but I liked mine more. I would come back and definitely add this to the sandwich rotation.

Annual update: My go to order: Small Atomic sub (or turkey avocado) on a wheat roll with provolone, toasted if I have time (I don't usually). Everything except pickles, Dijon instead of yellow mustard, and add cucumber and bell pepper. They are so efficient here. It is a well run machine and a reliable place to grab a quick affordable and filling lunch. Still a major fan.

Sub was massive couldn't finish it all in one sitting the flavors were amazing the food was fresh and the price wasn't bad either

#11 Veggie avocado cheese sandwich w/ all the veggies. Delicious

I wish this sandwich place was near me! I love a good sandwich spot. Fresh ingredients and the bread is soft and big. I ordered the 9" veggie w/ avocado, provolone, Swiss, and all the veggies on the squaw roll. Just a solid, fresh sandwich. The price is very fair for the quality and size sandwich. Will definitely be stopping in again when I'm back in the area.

I finally found myself in this neighborhood during lunch. I've had this sub shop bookmarked for years. On a Sunday, there were a few people waiting for sandwiches. The employees were friendly and promptly greeted me. I ordered a medium Italian sub for my husband and a small #3(ham and capacolla) on a wheat roll. I thought my sandwich was pretty darn good. They have all the sandwich toppings and dressings you can think of. I ordered mine with lettuce, tomato, pickles, pepperoncinis, sweet hot mustard, and red vinegar. There was just the right amount of everything. The wheat roll was soft and fresh. My husband had the medium Italian sub. There was ham, salami, pepperoni, and capacolla. He thought it was really good and huge. He could have ordered the small sub like mine. There is some inside seating but we ate outside with our dog. We will be back!

I ordered catering for 150 staff at a local high school. Their owner, Tim, was absolutely amazing to work with, from start to finish. He was helpful in suggesting quantities and recommending their top-selling sandwiches. I wound up ordering seven of their 6-foot long subs, each with a different meat/cheese combo. If you've never ordered their 6-footers before, all I can say is DO IT! Talk about a WOW factor. Each of the 6-footers was securely placed on a wooden plank which had been wrapped in tinfoil. Each sub was cut into 30, secured with toothpicks, and wrapped in Saran. I was able to transport them all easily. On the side Tim included mayo, mustard, and all the toppings so people could build their own sub. I heard multiple rave reviews from the staff, with many exclaiming, "it's the best sub I've ever had in my life".

This is hands down my go to sandwich place in Encinitas. I was starving while working on a project and Yelped a sandwich place close and found Subman. I got the Italian Sub and it is incredible. The meats and cheeses are super high quality but that French roll is a revelation. You'll never go to Subway again after one visit here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Before entering the business I could already smell the aroma of good food. I was pretty amazed at…read moreseeing the display of great cuts of meats. They also carried a variety of sauces and condiments. But let's get to the food that we ordered. My husband ordered the Bologna Sandwich and I ordered the DBL Cheeseburger, no cheese, oh and the Beef Fat French Fries. My burger was delicious, flavorful. But when I reached the middle of the burger it was just a little too salty for me. I even had my husband try it to make sure I wasn't imagining it. He agreed. It was a very good burger, but I found the dill pickle to be a little too much. I took a small bite of his Smoked Bologna sandwich. It was flavorful. His sandwich was full of sliced bologna. The fries were delicious! Very crispy and tasty! The service was ok, they were busy. Wish there were more tables available to sit and eat. There is a small patio off to the side of the business with 6 or 7 large picnic tables. We were lucky to get a table. I would like to come back and give some other items a try.

our DRY-AGED BURGERS (havarti, bacon, mustard, mayo, and house-made pickles) weren't just dry-aged,…read morethey were drier than old boot leather. I get that smash burgers are all the rage these days, but if a burger patty spends as much time on the second side as it did on the first, it's not crustified; it's as tough and juiceless as jerky. an abundance of aging primals are on display at the WISE OX. when they're cut into steaks, the trimmings are ground for burgers. a not-particularly-wise cow died for our sins (so said the family's vegan son who begged off lunch). honor that and cook the meat properly. to not do so is beyond sacrilegious. if I told the meat cutter (aka the "butcher") I was going to use the dry-aged Rib Eyes or New Yorks he'd just carved up to make jerky, he'd be horrified. so, why isn't he raging at the guy on the grill doing that to our burgers? the BEEF FAT FRIES (aka Tallow Fried Fries) still have great flavor, but are still way, way, way too salty. check the photo, and count the visible salt crystals if your cardiologist's on speed dial.
