    Mendocino Farms, Encinitas Ca

Aloha Ladies and Gents! I'm out on the hunt for dinner and since Mendocino Farms was a quick five minute drive, I was ready to drop in. The restaurant is located in a very busy strip mall right next door to Starbucks Coffee. Parking can be hard to find depending on what time you visit. You can always park in the back of the restaurant where a larger lot is available. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by the cashier with a warm smile and a welcome. A digital menu is at the register if you're not sure what to order. I found it helpful The service area was bright and the staff eagerly awaited orders and completed them in a timely fashion. Drinks are self serve and there was plenty of seating both indoor and out. The atmosphere was laid back and casual. I ordered two Watermelon Poke Salads. I added protein to each salad which was an additional charge. Chicken in one salad and tofu in the other. The salads were overflowing with fresh ingredients like poke style marinated watermelon, edamame, avocado, pickled daikon and carrots, cucumber, scallion, cilantro, Napa cabbage, romaine, kale, spinach, crispy rice, bean sprouts, Siracha mayo, and ginger ponzu dressing. See...I told you it was overflowing, but you didn't believe me did you?? Well, now you know. It was a refreshing Summer salad. The watermelon gave the salad a sweet flavor and the pickled daikon gave it a tangy kick and a slight crunch. Overall it was bursting with flavor and the added proteins were a great addition. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. It all looked so delicious.

Staff need to make sure drinks are properly sealed before handing them out. My drink spilled all over my car, and now everything is sticky.

This is not my regular Mendocino Farms, but I was happy to experience the same clean, welcoming, organized environment. I am vegan so the Vegan Bahn Mi is my option. The tofu is so ridiculously firm (in a great way), I should try to find out what brand they use! We were welcomed upon arrival, helped and able to order immediately, got extra help when a reward on our MyMendo wasn't working, the bathrooms were clean, service was quick! I was able to enjoy my fresh Bahn Mi at the beach :)

Came on a random saturday afternoon. Just one couple in there. I could tell it was slow by the employees filling sauce cups and chatting. One of the employees was sharing how sad she was by one manager leaving(I think) and how someone else was bugging her. Lol trivial workplace drama. Just slightly annoying to listen to while I was just trying to eat my sandwich. The employees were super nice but I wish I told them not to stress about their job lol

Mendocino farms is always a good option for filling food. I came during lunch and it was busy but the food came out promptly. I enjoyed my impossible taco salad and got the french mustard vinaigrette dressing on the side. They have a variety of vegan options to try! Next time I'll order to go, since inside was so busy that they weren't able to wipe the tables clean in between people. And the tables are really close together so that's kind of awkward.

Food is fine, not special just fine. Pros: staff friendly and helpful. Caesar salad is good but needs protein added. Cons: bowl of lettuce is $12, then add chicken for $4. Tax, tip(why am I tipping on food to go?). $38 for 2 salads that aren't very big is ridiculous. At least add a small piece of bread or apple. This like many places will be closed soon.

I arrived at 8:50 p.m. on Monday, June 29th, 2026, just before they closed at 9. I felt a bit panicky about placing my order with only ten minutes left, but the young man who seemed to be the shift manager was incredibly kind. He made the experience pleasant, and even though I knew what I wanted, I could tell he would have taken the time to help me if I hadn't. The order was prepared quickly, yet they didn't rush through it. Afterward, I had a brief conversation with him while he was cleaning the windows, and he took the time to answer my question, which was refreshing. It's important to support places that genuinely care for their employees. I want to feel proud of where I spend my money, knowing that I'm not contributing to poor employee treatment. Businesses should prioritize taking care of their staff because without them, they can't operate. It's essential that I feel good about my choices when grabbing a bite, and I appreciate establishments that reflect those values.

Usually I love mendicino farms... but today when I opened my Pesto Chicken Caprese sandwich I was met with something that truly apalled me. It was a disposible black glove that was clearly used, covered in grease and food scraps. This has truly changed my outlook on this location of Mendicino Farms and I am thoroughly disapointed.

Really disappointed this time. The vegetarian caprese is always a go to for me--but this time my sandwich had no mozzarella and instead had tofu. I reviewed my order online and on the receipt to find that this was clearly a staff mistake. Just a bit confused how this happened when there were 0 people in the restaurant and 0 orders for pick up aside from mine. $12 for a sandwich is too much when the main ingredient is not even included. Based on other reviews, it seems that this apparently happens at this location.

Service was a little uneven, sometimes lots of check ins and water refills but took forever to get the check. Great lunch special for about $15 for a 7" pizza duo with soup or salad. I got the burnt end pizza and thai chicken salad. The pizza was a little dry, maybe more cheese or sauce. The salad was very crunchy, lot of peanuts and cabbage. It was also a bit overdressed. My friend liked her mushroom, pepperoni and sausage pizza and her Caesar salad was overdressed and covered in too much parmesan. The space is new, clean and very comfortable. The parking lot is hit and miss with lots of eateries in a small lot with small parking spaces. If you sign up for their rewards program you get a free appetizer. We got the Buffalo cauliflower which was okay, again heavily sauced so it was soggy. But hey, it was free!

I usually order an iced matcha latte with oat milk and a Sweet Toast inside the market, then when I'm ready I switch to a cup or two of hard kombucha, which always has ingredients plucked from the farm, depending on what is seasonal. Everything is always delicious and delightful. Service at this walk-up coffee area is friendly. There is plenty of seating outside, in the front or back of the open-air market, and lingering for hours is encouraged. I like taking a walk around the perimeter farm while I'm there as well. There is an apothecary and a brewery on the premises, as well as a coffee roasting area. This part of the farm always seems to be closed for a private event, but that just adds to the bustling and community atmosphere. There is a couch area with a fire pit (and one in the back) in addition to the assortment of tables, a huge grass area and a natural (wood) climbing structure for kids to play, and sometimes they have live music there. There are always families and Encinitas locals hanging out and enjoying all that this place has to offer. There is a pizza stall in front of the market, as well as Huerta Tacos stand in back. Hours for these vary depending on the day. Both are not cheap, but the food is fresh and delicious, made with quality ingredients and interesting flavors. I sometimes treat myself to either, depending on who I'm with or what time of day it is. There is also a restaurant upstairs, and I have eaten there once, but prefer coming to hang at the Harvest Market and getting my food and drinks there. I live in the Vista/Carlsbad area, but it is worth the 20-25 minute drive to come hang out here for the afternoon!

Found inside the harvest market deli cooler with the snacks & drinks near the prepared salads to grab & go items. They have lots of fresh produce, fresh bread, and packaged cracker chip items to purchase and enjoy with it. It was cool creamy and refreshing. I enjoyed it with some fresh artisan bread. Nice filling, healthy snack. The market has a variety of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, including edible ones, a small Café with hot and cold, freshly made drinks, including the option of ones with vegan plant milk, as well as a small baked goods case full of vegan cookies and muffins. Nice selection of interesting drinks, including Matcha & Ube. A nice selection of vegan items for sale. This very modern up scale barn is on a spacious property with ample outdoor hard seating, including individual chairs, both metal and wood picnic tables with benches, hardwood Adirondack chairs around a large fire pit in the back. If you prefer soft seating like me, there are only a few on the property, a couch by the outdoor fireplace inside up in the restaurant and balcony. The outdoor pizza kitchen has a variety of made to order cooked in front of you pizzas including vegan (must ask for vegan cheese substitute) or gluten-free egg, white and cauliflower crust. The Cook said most of the pizzas can be made with the vegan cheese. Included a few nice options with pesto sauce, truffle, mushroom, and more. After seeing a few come out out of the oven with the bubbled crust, I'm looking forward to returning and giving one a try. It seemed to be the favorite menu item of the outdoor diners, as the tables were full of them. Parking is on a dirt and gravel stretch so skip the sandals and flip-flops & wear closed toed tennis shoes. There are walking paths around the properties so you can get in a nice stroll before having a nibble and a drink. The path around the property you'll see their crops of produce and flowers growing as well as the animals they have: horses, goats pigs. Upstairs after 4 PM, they have a nice clean-looking modern style restaurant featuring a nice menu with a variety of six vegetarian and one vegan pasta option. The hostess, who claimed she was also vegetarian was quick to point out all the vegetarian options some can be converted to vegan by omitting the cheese or dairy ingredient. There's a nice tall bar upstairs with stools and one TV for watching news or sports. Apparently they have a brunch weekends only with a menu that also looks very inviting. The property has a large selection of bottled wines, a micro brewery and a coffee bean brewery. Family friendly, a nice place to go to get a bite and drink, stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air (although a bit dusty near parking lot). Country music is playing loudly in and around the property. We have an expanse of grass for picnic in a play area that's very natural and organic and appearance and a glass house which opens up onto a hard scape patio available for a private event events. The people were friendly and welcoming. It's a spot of natural plot of country near the coast line in Encinitas.

"Addison's Brunch"…read more Placed perfectly along the sunkissed Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas is a quaint brunch spot serving up culinary wizardry. I've gotten the chance to visit a few times and I'm always impressed with how they balance serious cooking with approachable flavors. Chef Andrew Bachelier (Addison, Jeune et Jolie, Campfire) brings his take on a foodie workshop that dazzles with amazing brunch food and an imaginative drinks bar. The food was phenomenal. Turkish Eggs were super flavorful and fresh. Almost like eating an herby ramen egg on crusty toast with all the fresh herbs and chili oil. The hamachi crudo was delicate and fresh. The pork chop was sumptuous with an excellent sauce. But my favorite had to be the sourdough french toast. It actually blew my mind how the outside was crispy and crackley but the inside was moist, gooey but not mushy. I heard from the waiter they soak the bread in a custard or syrup for 72 hrs to get that texture and yet the outside is crispy. Sorcery. In short, this is the brunch spot of all brunch spots, combining michelin star level cooking with beloved breakfast foods. This place really punches above its weight class and I highly recommend checking it out! Best Bite: French Toast

It's easier for them and easier for us - they can count how many people are coming & you don't have to worry about waiting an hour. Vibes are great. Food is lovely (though expensive!). My fave dish was the amazing summer porridge. Sure it's $32 for the dish - but this is a Michelin-quality place (Bib Gourmand, not a star) so not for every day and it was delicious. Basically like a risotto, ate every grain. Check out the gorgeous pic! People are high on the Turkish eggs - but I thought they were meh, and tiny for $23. Not one of the best values here, IMHO. We wanted to try the vaunted French toast, but they had run out by the time of our reservation. On the recommendation of our server & my friend Jiansen in his review here, we also ordered the Pistachio Bread Pudding. It was beautiful, tasty, light and photo worthy! And also on Jiansen's rec, I tried the jasper, which was like a cold coffee mocktail on the rocks (steady state coffee. cherry. chaga. vanilla. rose vinegar. lemon). Tasty and interesting! We really liked the vibes too. They take reservations for 1:30 pm, though they're closing technically at 2. The manager (whose name I am forgetting - but he is from Philly and super nice!) told us "they don't close" and we could sit and enjoy & not be in their way while they closed up, but a few of the other staff members seemed to be wanting us to leave. So keep that in mind if you get one of the last reservations; lingering with a friend might be a bit challenging. But we had a great time, and I especially enjoyed the summer porridge. I'll definitely come again (and know I should make a reservation) - but it's probably better to come earlier before they run out of anything & before we're in their way while they're cleaning up! Oh - and parking can be a real challenge. Come early and check out the side streets!

We were seated on the patio--which was fine because we had our 2 year old with us--but it was 80 degrees out and not a lot of air flow. Our server's name was Kyra or Kyla--I'm not too sure because it was hard to hear her over the music playing. She was nice enough but there must've been sort of disconnect with our toddler's meal. Either she forgot to put it in the POS system and asked the kitchen to quick fire it or the kitchen was in the weeds and we weren't made aware of the situation. Nonetheless, we purposely put the kid's burger in when we put our appetizer in. Her burger didn't come out until 45 minutes after the appetizer got to our table! I'm not exaggerating either--515 we got our fries and then at 6pm a child's hamburger...on a Tuesday! Our entrees were finished and we asked for the bill before it even came out. I shouldn't have had to check on it as a server's job is to know what your table has ordered and make sure it actually gets to the table. I'm extremely disappointed that there was no apology, no discount or comp. to our meal because of this mistake. We won't be returning.
