We love the atmosphere here delicious food with 100% go back. The only pain can somewhat be the parking but the day we went there was an event so there was limited parking in the surrounding area. The service was really great. They were nice. My only complaint is I did have to wave somebody down to finally get my check but all in all very great experience and we love all the Vegan options. Changing star rating after server/kitchen error. Order vegan veg tofu "flower cups" , 1st item on top of menu but they served the "tuna flower cups" version. They looked and smelled very fishy, too tuna fish-like for us. Complained to server and pointed out several times on menu what I ordered and the difference between the two. It was as if they were trying to convince me they were the same, seemed like they didn't want to go the trouble of remaking them, but did after I insisted. Much better. First time trying this Plumeria location, and already they are different than the one in San Diego, the one in San Diego is Vegetarian whereas the one in Encinitas is fully vegan, some things on the menu are different than the San Diego location. All in the service was great, and fast. They are very good, I will be back. Plumeria on 101 was amazing! I recently tried the Plumeria in University Heights, so I was excited to try the one here in Encinitas. Needless to say, this one was just as great. Food: I ordered the Panang curry with boiled tofu, and it was so flavorful, warm, and comforting. It was a bit too spicy for me (I should have asked for an adjustment), but I definitely recommend. My friend and I shared the spring rolls (the peanut sauce was warm and very flavorful) and the mango sticky rice (one of the best I have - sweet and salty, creamy). Service/Ambiance: My friend and I went when it was a little less busy and it was raining outside, so we were able to sit inside! Service was great - very kind, attentive staff. I really liked the restaurant and the food here. Service was nice and we (party of 7) all got our food quickly. Food was delicious and everyone really liked what they ordered. Portion size is great and is ideal for family style dining. We got the appetizer sampler (not pictured) and all of it was pretty good - especially the Satay Chicken). The papaya salad is amazing - well coated with the lime juice and spices. We ate the whole thing. The spicy noodles was really good! It reminded me of pad see ew and I do love wide rice noodles. We sat outside at their patio so it can be noisy due to the traffic of cars but it was a nice sunny day. The server was super nice and attentive. we had a great experience dining here for dinner! parking is a bit difficult as it is in a busy area, but there is a parking lot with free 1 hour parking two blocks down. they open at 4:30 for dinner, and that's around when we came, it got pretty busy later on so i would recommend coming early! we started with the fresh spring rolls, which were delicious! they were crunchy and paired well with the peanut sauce. i always order spicy noodles, so i had to try them out here. we got a medium (spice level 3) and it had a nice kick to it, so i would be careful if you're someone who doesn't eat spicy food. the fried tofu was done well, and the noodles and veggies were about what i would expect. the highlight of the meal was the pumpkin red curry! i am not usually a big pumpkin fan, but it was a nice variation to your typical thai curries and was so flavorful! the tangerine chicken was also delicious, it had a nice balance between sweet and citrusy, and so crispy!! service slowed down a bit as it started to get busy, but they were very friendly. i will definitely be back! read more

Great food, cool balcony -- but absolutely terrible service. Plumeria has amazing food and a really chill, beautiful balcony setup, it's such a shame the service completely ruins the experience. The staff are not friendly or attentive, and everything comes out painfully late. You can tell they're trying to cut corners by running the whole place with about two and a half servers, which just doesn't work when it's busy. If they fixed their service and hired enough staff, this place could easily be a 5-star spot. The Fresh spring rolls were oddly chewier than what we normally experience at other Thai restaurants. The Mango sticky rice was ok, but not the best. Those were the highlights of the meal. The fried Tofu was a black-hole of flavor. Nothing. Null. It said fried, but it was just rubber with no flavor at all. The Panang Curry also had Tofu in it, but even the curry did not taste life Panang curry. Hot-ish as advertised, but the flavor was underwhelming. My daughter had an eggplant curry with Tofu. Also without flavor, and my wife also had a dish with NO flavor. Just, wow. How did we end up with a full on combination of what I would consider Thai fundamental with NO flavor. We ate all of the spring rolls and about 2/3rds of the mango sticky rice... I Never leave uneaten food. I love leftovers. Respectively, We ate no more than about 20% of our meals. I have not eaten at this restaurant since before the pandemic. I really used to love it. However, I just ordered DoorDash. I ordered three items. The only item worth anything were the crispy rolls. However, they didn't have any tofu or anything in them except for vegetables. The mock duck was overcooked in the Larb salad and it was way too salty. Sadly, one thing that is always good is a Thai iced tea with oat milk. They used some nasty oat milk that was sweetened so it took away all the flavor and the goodness of the Thai iced tea. I will never go to this place or order from them again it was offensive. PS The food came in plastic bags which is so not environmentally conscious! Had to do a couple of circles to find parking but the positive is that it's a beautiful area to walk around even if you park far. Was seated outside during an overcast/humid day. There is shade and enough space for me to fit my stroller in addition to a table for 2. Was seated and greeted immediately. Various food options esp for vegetarians. Friend got the spring rolls and I opted for the Thai tea (with almond milk) and fried tofu pad Thai. Came out quickly and beautifully presented. Was extremely flavorful and they did not shirk on quantity. All the dishes that came out of neighboring tables looked pretty and made my eyes turn into heart emojis. Thai tea was tasty as well. I went with the pumpkin curry with steamed tofu and brown rice that came shaped like a heart. Ample portions. It came medium heat by default and had a good amount of heat yet not overbearing. I've been to the other plumeria location and have always like their food. My friend and I were strolling around the Encinitas area around 4pm and since there is not a whole lot to do aside from eating, we decided to pop in and share a dish or some apps. After looking at the menu, we went for the pad Thai with mock duck but the male server expressed dissatisfaction on his face when we ordered only one dish to share a dish at 4pm. I'm not sure why because the pad thai costs $17.50 which is more than the average price charged by most thai restaurants so we are already paying a premium mid-day when it's not lunch or dinner. The pad thai was good and it's a decent portion to share when you're not hungry and just finding a reason to snack and hang out. The interior was lovely and the place wasn't busy. read more

We started with a sampler appetizer. I was not quick enough to capture an image, it was quickly devoured soon after it was placed on the tableThough each of us ordered different and individual entrees, we shared a few bites from each other's plate. Loved the purple /black rice served with each entree (though you can also opt for the white rice). Service was excellent. Our water cups kept full. Serving sizes just plenty to satiate the appetite. Husband had spicy rice whose protien came from two kinds of lentils. Not sure what was in the flower cups but they were light and crispy and so cute. I did try a bit of vegan cheesecake. It was just ok, I felt it was gritty and artificial tasting. But the person that ordered it liked it. Great location on the coast highway in Encinitas.
