Haggo's is a Leucadia staple and for good reason. Every time I drive by, the place is busy. I hadn't been back to Haggo's since it first opened years and years ago, so I stopped by on my lunch break and was not disappointed. The veggie burrito I got was one of the best burritos i've ever had - it had beans, cheese, rice, guac. Their spicy salsa is also to die for. Yes it might be a little more expensive than your average SD burrito, but making organic clean food that tastes phenomenal is well worth the price. I'll be dreaming of this burrito until I can have it next! Also, the restaurant is just such a vibe. You can't beat a coast highway location.

    Veggie Breakfast burrito add pork

I reallllly wanted to love my burrito. I've been dying to come here forever and finally did for a breakfast burrito. Because the other breakfast burritos seemed lacking ingredients overall (like only eggs and pork for the pork burrito) I decided to order a Veggie Breakfast Burrito with no dairy and asked to add pork. Came out to over $20 bucks but that's what I expect for clean ingredients and to add meat! I always fear when ordering a veggie burrito that it's gonna be super greasy because sauteed veggies always seem to be that way (sadly) and I was right. This thick girl was insanely greasy and veggies were overcooked and overall lacked any sort of spices. With that being said, I LOVED the addition of gold potatoes, which added a touch of sweetness, and how much pork they gave me! On the OTHER hand, you'd get huge mouthfuls of just pork or just greasy veggies. I ended up picking out half the veg mix just cuz it didn't have much flavor. You can definitely tell the quality of ingredients, it just didn't hit like I wanted it to! Salsas were all delicious and sitting on the patio overlooking the 101 is gorgeous! Service was relatively slow considering there weren't many people here but I always expect slower service when I make substitutions to my order. I can't wait to come back and try more items because I know I'll love something else...just not so much this order!

Haggo's Organic Taco is an organic Mexican restaurant. It is located just adjacent to Bump Coffee. We couldn't resist the aroma coming from their shop. The place was packed but clean and cozy. They have beach style interior decor. The staff were very nice. We got our order outside at one of Bump Coffee table since we ordered coffee Mojito from there. Their menu includes burritos, nachos, bowls salad plates, quesadillas, tacos , quinoa and more. They also have local craft beer. We got Shrimp burrito and came with tortilla chips. Their burrito was very juicy, tasty and flavorful. They brought four different condiments with our order. For sure, we will come back to try more of their delicious menu.

no complaints! great quality ingredients and you can taste/feel it. usually places that use clean & organic ingredients and skip on seed oils don't have the best flavor, but this place is always on point. can be a little pricy, but you pay for what you get given the quality. the staff is always super friendly too! great place to stop by if you're in Leucadia

Tasty and a bit on the healthier side. Burritos default on a whole grain tortilla. Only annoying thing is that everything is so watery and drips everywhere. Micheladas were delicious. Crowded, but with quick turnover, didn't take too long to get a table.

Michelada was freshly-made, spicy (at my request), and outstanding.

This place, located right on PCH, screams SoCal, and Encinitas, in particular. The people watching, even the car watching, is terrific. Be prepared to wait in a long line to order. You can blame Guy Fieri for that. Then be prepared to wait for your food. We waited about 30 minutes, which is exactly what the cashier warned us. The food is good. The presentation is top notch. The prices are high but you are paying for the high rent and high quality. I liked my shrimp taco. The pastor taco, with little chunks of pineapple, was probably a little better. The shrimp burrito was not huge but it was very nice. With the two taco combo, you get chips and red beans. The chips are very good. The beans are fantastic. Really. With my taco combo, they gave me about six chips. Is there a chip shortage? Come on, guys. The salsas, and there are four types in squeeze bottles, are pretty good. The spicy one should be spicier. They make an excellent, freshly-made Michelada here. It's excellent. I liked but didn't love the food. I loved my Michelada and the beans. I loved the people and car watching. There you go.

I love the casual, open-&-airy location, especially sitting along the outside counter facing the street -- for fresh air and lots of people-watching! In addition, I love that they offer self-serve chilled ice water (it's these seemingly small details that elevate my enjoyment and experience)! For this first visit, I ordered a la carte: Cousteau Fish taco ($6.95) and Baja Fish taco ($6.95)-- both tacos were generously stuffed with fresh-tasting and colorful ingredients; the Baja fish taco was generous in size and its puffy, crispy, and satisfyingly crunchy texture was unique compared to other fried fish tacos I'd had. While orders are placed at the counter, the food is delivered to your table. I liked the staff's positive energy! Great find (however, heads-up, only 1 restroom)!

I got the vegan tacos and they were aight. Weird combo, like quinoa and mushroom and sweet potato. The sauces were good and the chips were good. My friend got the carnitas and birria and said they tasted like white Mexican food. What do you expect from a place like this lol. The vibes are super boring inside but nice workers

Ok, first of all... I'm a taco fiend, and came on a Tuesday craving some good old tacos. My friend highly recommended this spot cuz it's seed oil free and they use high quality ingredients like grass fed beef and wild caught fish. She told me to for sure ordered the taquitos and boy was she right, they did not disappoint! I was starving so I went for the pork burrito but that did not impress at all. The pork was dry. My partner got the grilled fish tacos and said it was okay and wouldn't order that again. Overall, everything tasted healthy but all lacked flavor, under seasoned and their salsas were bland. Ambiance is good, coastal and near nectarine grove, easy street parking and service was quick and friendly. You go up to the counter, they take your order and give you a number and you sit at a table and they bring your food right up to you. Honestly, that did not hit the spot so I'll probably not be again.

Very surprised that a whole wheat tortilla is a good as it is here. I got a fish burrito. It was between that and a Diablo shrimp, which also sounded great. Took a bit longer than most taco shops do, which is fine. This thing was loaded with cabbage and tomatoes, so it is a real good crunch. Unfortunately the fish wasn't super crunchy, which is fine, but I prefer a crunch. The bottom end of the burrito still gets that nice wet greasy tortilla flavor. Love it. The view is great, lots of flora, floating around. The price is up there, as is everything else except my wallet. They do have some N/A beers which is a plus and absolutely something I look for.

First time trying Haggo's Organic Taco and I'm so glad I did! I originally came just for the gluten free churros since my husband is highly sensitive to wheat, but I ended up adding carne asada fries to my online order because I got hungry haha. Let me just say, the gluten free churros were incredible! Honestly the best we've had in a very long time. Perfectly crispy, soft inside, and full of flavor. I don't think anyone can make them as good as Haggo's does. Totally worth the price and generous portion too. The carne asada fries were tasty overall, but I'd give them a 4 out of 5. The fries themselves were a bit dry, but still flavorful and satisfying. The staff were super nice and even let us sample all the salsas, and wow, every single one was delicious! Definitely coming back for those churros again

Being in San Diego always makes me think of two things. How fast can I get to the water and where can I get some tasty tacos?? Haggo's is serving up some delicious fresh food. They cook with organic, scratch made ingredients which includes grass fed beef and wild caught fish. They use avocado oil in their fryers and dressings for flavor and nutrition. I read a few reviews before coming here and knew I had to try it. I luckily got a spot on the street to park right out front. Parking can be a real challenge in this area as it is mixed residential with commercial. They have a small lot in back but it does not hold that many cars. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly person. Looking at the menu, I decided to go with Haggo's Special - Baja Fish Taco plate with chips and beans. I definitely made the right choice. The mahi mahi tacos were flavored with fire roasted crema, cabbage slaw, salsa crudo and cilantro. Pure yum! I always know that I can get the best Mexican food in this part of California and I go for it every time I am here. So many other options to sample such as Cousteau Fish Taco, Chicken Veggie Bowl, Wild Shrimp Taco, Azul Taco, Land and Sea Taco and the list goes on and on. Great patio dining while you feel the cool ocean breeze and the warm sun. I probably could have just sat there enjoying this feeling all afternoon. Take your Taco Tuesday up a notch and try out this fabulous spot. Your tummy will thank you!

Hi there! We have both inside and outside dining. There are huge bay windows that open to Hwy 101 so the whole thing is pretty wide open.

The parking lot has plentiful parking but was completely full as I was leaving around 12pm. There were tons of order pick-up spots and 20-minute max parking spots that help with the flow. The restaurant was impeccably clean with a growing line of lunch-goers. The workers were very efficient and the line moved quickly. I also noticed the apparent owner/manager talking to regulars and greeting customers as they walked in, which I really liked to see! I was served my order to-go in less than 10 minutes and ended up unexpectedly using the other 10 minutes after taking my first bite--after that it was hard to stop. The burrito was the perfect size (not too large and not too small). My original breakfast burrito was wrapped in a fresh hand-made tortilla filled with fluffy eggs, the perfect amount of bacon, cheese, soft fresh potatoes, topped with the avocado salsa verde which went perfectly with everything. I even ended up sipping the salsa (it was that good) between bites of the burrito. I was also blown away by the clean and fully stocked salsa bar. So many options (including non-spicy ones for those with gastric limitations too!) and they even offered radishes, carrots, and pickled onions individually wrapped with care. Everything tasted fresh and home-made. After 7 years being away from San Diego, Los Tacos delivered exactly what I had been missing. This location really blew me away and I will definitely be back to see what else it has to offer.

Why not upgrade some of the aging furniture, design, infrastructure? oh well, just a name change. Why not take the chance to make changes since ownership was staying the same? Some of those items were stale and new r&d items could be added, but maybe too much change would drive customers away. To update my old Rico review I started coming here 20+ years ago and since that review is 15 years old I have changed my mind on the Justin burrito. Why was I eating 4 different types of carbs? Why even have lettuce? Also why no sour cream since were throwing everything in the kitchen sink in there (sans meat). The justin burrito is like seeing a fat vegetarian, sorry not sorry. I think I was just eating becuase I was bored and hungry and had a fast metabolism, always eating beyond satisfied. I'd much rather eat perfect bites to a satisfying amount rather than overindulge on chasing balance. I still haven't met Justin, but my fear is after all these decades of eating these massive burritos maybe he's no longer around. The decor is mostly the same, the menu is mostly the same, the staff, etc. etc. Prices have gone up and to me more than the times. 20% on the Justin and 30+% on breakfast burritos. How is the Calidilla (quesadilla wrapped CAB) $17? i'm fairly certain the quesadilla portion isn't equal to an equivalent price increase versus the standard $7 cheese quesadilla becuase I weighed a CAB and quesadilla and the Calidilla and 1+1 does not equal 2 and the price difference isn't proportional Something that I did notice is that my usual favorite California burrito has waned. I don't think anything specifically has changed, but probably my level of love for it. I found the fries to be a little less crispy, the meat a little greasier, tortilla a litte dryer, hot sauce a little milder. The nostalgia is hard to recreate and even harder to explain to others, but alot of things were amazing just becuase I was in my early 20's. I still feel like it's not a taco shop or an ertos. I call them Mexican fast food leaning more towards a restaurant now. $13 breakfast burritos is wild.
