    3 Taco Combo

Tried the combination 3 taco plate and they were generous with the guacamole and were great about my dairy allergy. Provided sides which is a bonus. Food was good, but nothing stood out. Just a solid meal. Would go here instead of Chipotle or Taco Bell. One of the few powers we have left as a society is our spending power. If you aren't happy with how the world is, do something! Corporations will change their ways if we stop giving them money. I know fast food is "cheap, quick, easy" , but you kill authenticity. You destroy local businesses. You feed into a system that doesn't take care of workers/us. Start resisting the comfort of conformity. Eat at Los Tacos which started in Oceanside around 2005 by a group of friends. Friendship, Passion, Enthusiasm. These are the words associated with Los Tacos. Those are all things we can support.

I was in the area and I wanted some tacos so I went online and checked out the menu , then came to Yelp to read up on some reviews . They were good enough for me to try it . Online ordering was easy and it was ready pretty fast . I got Al pastor tacos and a shrimp taco . The shrimp taco was bomb, but it had a lot of chipotle sauce on it . I really liked the sauce but was it too much , I can't decide . Honestly I'd get that again , great flavor . The Al pastor taco was the one I wasn't a fan of. Maybe that's my fault because it was super sweet , maybe the sweetest al pastor I've had . I'm sure others are fans of it but it wasn't my fav .

We ordered takeout from here and it was our first time there. I had the carnitas fajita bowl and the carnitas were tender and juicy. Portion was decent sized. I guess they were out of guacamole because they substituted it with sliced avocado. The carnitas burrito was pretty large and very good. Definitely worth a try.

We had a chicken taco, cheese quesadilla and a carnitas quesadilla. Delicious flavors, tender meat, nicely presented, at reasonable prices. Salsas were very good with a nice variety of heat levels. No chips are provided, though they can be purchased for an extra charge. Beans and rice are tiny portions, served in plastic cups. Decor is pretty basic, though lighting is a bit bright. This is more of a taqueria than a restaurant. Beers for sale (at a separate bar) are mostly craft and a bit pricey for a taqueria, especially if you just want simple cervezas to go with dinner. Bottled Coronas or Modelo would be a good addition. Not everyone is seeking a $9.50 microbrew. Might be better ambience when the weather warms and outdoor seating is available.

Chips (half order) were very average.

This is a new location of this small taco shop chain. Interestingly, they took over the same location where a different taco shop failed. This is more than a "Berto's" taco shop. The tacos and burritos are far more interesting and, dare I say, almost gourmet. I went with the Ghengis Nhan burrito (grilled chicken and chorizo) and it was phenomenal. Your food is made to order and you can really taste the quality and freshness. The salsa bar is great. They have a few nuclear spicy salsas along with some medium hot varieties and at least one moderate one. They also have fresh (and free) bagged radish slices and lime wedges in the salsa bar. Now, who does that? This location is unique because they actually have a counter where you can order draft beer. It looked like they had about six beers on tap. There is plenty of seating inside and a nice outdoor patio. My only knock is the chips. They were very ordinary and unseasoned. They could have been better. I love this chain. The food is interesting and delicious. It puts normal taco shops to shame.

My wife had to pick up a jewelry repair order at Gems of LaCosta and since we were there around lunch time, I saw Los Tacos, did a quick Yelp and Google Review and suggested we try Los Tacos and BOY - WE ARE SO HAPPY WE DID!! This is the kind of place you want to hang out, because the ambience is great and welcoming, AND the tacos were AMAZING!!! And Armando the owner was so wonderful and he spent time chatting with me as I have done a lot of business in Mexico City with Televisa and Telcel, . . . . so it was a great bonding time and we talked about life, life in Mexico, the wonderful Mexican culture, and his passion for great food at Los Tacos!! Seriously, I thought the tacos here were perhaps the best I have had in San Diego. His hand made tortillas are exceptional - so fresh and delicious!! I loved the way he has the birria taco's tortilla slightly crispy so the juice of the birria didn't make the tortilla soggy and that birria and the juice - WOW!!! The Carne Asade taco was exceptional and flavorful - big bites of carne asade with flavor because there was a little touch of fat with the carne asada so it held the flavor and bite exceptionally well!! My Garlic Shrimp taco was perfectly seasoned and the taste was delicious!! I may return tomorrow and get the same tacos again, . . . .well, I may get a double order of three tacos because I want to try others!! This is a place you can go and hang out and feel like family because the owner is that kind of wonderful and the food is WOW!!

Handmade corn tortillas, al pastor (which isn't very common in Carlsbad), and local (both SD and Mexico) beers - very much needed for the La Costa / Aviara area. Food is on par w the other Los Tacos locations and a much needed flavor boost for the area. They've got unique burritos and killer tacos - enjoy!

Food: 4.5 stars. Lived the shrimp diabla taco. Quessabirria taco was a little sloppy and messy for my taste. Don't order this on a first date! My husband's fav is the salmon adobada. Only drawback was that one of his tacos came out cold. Service: 3 stars. Actual servers were great. Friendly and cleared plates quickly. But we waited over 30 mins for our tacos and the restaurant wasn't even 25% full. This has happened to us twice. Last time it was a 45 min wait for food!! The cashier should really tell the customers a wait time of it is going to be more than 10-15 mins. That's what people expect at a fast casual restaurant. Patio is dog friendly. Wish there was music

Came for the Mexican food but didn't expect the great craft beer selection (Humble Sea, Pure Project, Fieldwork, play some Baja California craft breweries). The tacos and burritos are as expected - I preferred the carne asada and pollo but some may like the other offerings. They have breakfast burritos served all day which I will definitely try next time. This isn't a fancy place - order at the counter, take a number, and then find a seat. Dog friendly on the patio.

I like to try a bean and cheese burrito as a first test for Mexican places because it's so basic. I tried their "The King" bean & cheese burrito. I was hesitant seeing the menu label describing the use of "Mexican mix" cheese, and I was correct about that. The cheese was a very salty cheddar blend that overpowered the flavorless beans. That said, the beans are what lose a star for this review, because the cheese is just personal preference. The tortilla was the best part. It's a convenient spot with nice seating and small dedicated bar. Staff didn't seem very interested in being there but they were perfectly nice and it was a slow afternoon so I don't blame them. Not going to be a go-to place but it's not bad if you're looking for something nearby.

This was our first time here today and it was amazing! Staff was so friendly and accommodating to my dairy intolerance. I had the pollo burrito bowl and hubby had the surf and turf burrito. Both were delicious and carefully crafted with quality ingredients. The meats were so tender and flavorful. They have a salsa bar with a nice selection of salsas and other toppings. We are looking forward to our next visit. Did I forget to mention that the patio made for such a lovely lunch?!?

The parking lot has plentiful parking but was completely full as I was leaving around 12pm. There were tons of order pick-up spots and 20-minute max parking spots that help with the flow. The restaurant was impeccably clean with a growing line of lunch-goers. The workers were very efficient and the line moved quickly. I also noticed the apparent owner/manager talking to regulars and greeting customers as they walked in, which I really liked to see! I was served my order to-go in less than 10 minutes and ended up unexpectedly using the other 10 minutes after taking my first bite--after that it was hard to stop. The burrito was the perfect size (not too large and not too small). My original breakfast burrito was wrapped in a fresh hand-made tortilla filled with fluffy eggs, the perfect amount of bacon, cheese, soft fresh potatoes, topped with the avocado salsa verde which went perfectly with everything. I even ended up sipping the salsa (it was that good) between bites of the burrito. I was also blown away by the clean and fully stocked salsa bar. So many options (including non-spicy ones for those with gastric limitations too!) and they even offered radishes, carrots, and pickled onions individually wrapped with care. Everything tasted fresh and home-made. After 7 years being away from San Diego, Los Tacos delivered exactly what I had been missing. This location really blew me away and I will definitely be back to see what else it has to offer.

Restaurant is very close to the 5 freeway as well as the Carlsbad Flower Fields and Legoland. I enjoyed the food and fancy-casual ambience. Seems like a fairly large stand-alone restaurant with it's own parking lot. Service was attentive and friendly. We came at the recommendation of a local and loved it! We chose this spot also for the queso that comes with the complimentary chips and salsa. So tasty and not too spicy--like a fresher/?healthier/whiter version of nacho cheese. Mango margarita 4.5/5 (with tajin rim) was enjoyable. Strawberry margarita (blended, virgin) 3/5 was good, but reminded me of candy, so probably just not for me. Trio burrito was outstanding. Loved the sourness of the green salsa over the carnitas, the carne asada with red salsa, and even the shrimp burrito (I don't usually love shrimp!). It tasted lighter than typical Mexican food. Portion was impressive, and it came with a side plate of rice and beans. Chile relleno was 3+/5 imo but my fiance enjoyed it as one of the better ones he has had. To me, it just paled in comparison to the burritos :)). Overall high quality, nice-ish (not too fancy) dinner spot for groups and more! Would recommend to others to add to their Carlsbad/SD area trip.

Well, we walked in and it was the "to-go" entrance but we were able to walk to the front of the restaurant and get a seat. We were seated quickly and my picky mom was able to choose where she wanted to sit. It was a little cold for me, and since we opted to sit in the way back it was a little dim. We were seated and served chips, salsa, and queso blanco dip. The sip was a nice touch. The chips were warm. Of course we had a lot of questions about the menu and our server was very helpful in helping us decide. After eating so many chips and queso, I decided on an appetizer for my meal. I had the empanadas. Mom ordered a bowl of albondigas and a combo plate with cheese enchilada and a taco, with the taco on a separate plate. The albondigas came out first. They were not very hot. Maybe lukewarm. We asked for them to be heated. They did. They had a nice flavor. I think I enjoyed the broth the most. For me, it was missing potatoes and had too much tomato, just a preference, there is no wrong way to make albondigas. I asked for all the condiments in the side and they did put everything on the side. The empanadas were okay. Seemed like they were made ahead of time and then slightly warmed. Again, I was missing the potatoes in the picadillo. Mom said her tortilla from the taco was very tuff and hard to eat. It seemed pre fried and old. She opted to eat the inside of the taco with tortilla chips. She's picky about her enchiladas. The cheese in the enchilada was slightly melted. The enchilada looked freshly made which, for me, can be a bad thing because making it fresh and heating in the salamander versus in the oven doesn't allow the cheese to fully melt. Now, the enchilada sauce was good and the rice was very good. Mom did complain about the lack of fullness in her plate. I reminded her that her taco would have sat in that empty spot. . . lol. . . On our way out, we noticed they were making homemade tortillas and wondered why we didn't get any lol. . . I think if I was in the area again I would stop in, especially for the albondigas.
