Based on all the great reviews, I had very high expectations for this tiny taco shop located in a kiosk in an outlet mall. I mean, the fact that I drove twenty minutes and went to an outlet mall solely for food still stuns me. The pastor burrito was enormous. Unfortunately, it was very mushy and 80% filler. The tortilla was nicely toasted but that was the only positive. The chips that came with the burrito were not completely stale but they were more stale than fresh. Come on, now. You cannot serve stale chips. I loved the chipotle salsa. Make sure you get some of that. The kiosk gal was very pleasant. I wish I had a different and better experience but it just wasn't the best. read more

What a find & SO close to home! This little taco stand is located in the Carlsbad Outlet Mall. Most of the folks seemed to be ordering tacos but I grabbed a chicken burrito....YUM Reasonable prices. If I could leave NO stars I would! We stopped here after a long day at LEGOLAND looking for something different than burgers, chicken strips, or pizza. Based on the reviews, this seemed like a great option. I arrived around 6:10 p.m. on Monday, June 29, and the restaurant didn't close until 7:00 p.m., so I didn't think arriving then would be an issue. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I walked in. There was a woman and a younger gentleman working behind the counter, and both seemed visibly annoyed by my presence. The woman looked at me, let out a loud sigh, slammed the microwave door shut, and turned her back to me. The younger man said something to her in Spanish, she glanced back at me, and then turned away again. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable ordering. I understand everyone has bad days, but no customer should feel like they're inconveniencing the staff simply by walking in during business hours. I left feeling embarrassed, with my family waiting in the car for dinner, and we ended up going to Panda Express instead. Customer service can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, before I even had the chance to order, I felt so unwelcome that I left. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting even basic courtesy. read more

Never would I have thought that tucked away in an unsuspecting little kiosk at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets, there would be a spot churning out above average Mexican food that would put much more popular & expensive Mexican joints to shame, yet here we are... This little stand at the Carlsbad outlets has some fantastic tacos and tamales too! After seeing the reviews on Yelp we had to give it a try and were impressed. There is a limited menu of items but we got the tacos and a tamale and it was really super tasty and a reasonable price. As you can see in my photos, you get plenty of meat and also the guacamole on top was not skimpy. There's a sauce bar and a few places to sit next to the stand. The service was really nice and food came out very quickly. I could eat so many of these! ----TL;DR---- PROS: location is convenient right in the middle of the outlet mall. A little hut in the middle of the northern part of the Carlsbad Premium Outlets pumping out great food. Got chicken and pork tamales as well as a chicken burrito, look at the size of this thing.
