I was craving Thai, and decided to check this place out. The parking lot is very small so heads up. The staff was welcoming, and seemed pretty busy. I ordered steamed fish, and cashew chicken to go. Once home, I was playing the dishes and realized there were no cashews in my dish. I called the restaurant to ask if maybe they had ran out of cashews and just forgot to inform me. They checked with the kitchen and no they just forgot to add it to my dish. The lady I spoke with very apologetic and advised me of a credit I would have next time I came by as I didn't live close by to have them redo my order. The steam fish was really good, and the cashew chicken was decent, but obviously would have been better with the cashews. Overall, I probably will give them another chance. read more

First impressions, the interior design of this restaurant is so elegant. It's a smaller restaurant but almost every table was filled. We got greeted and seated right away. We ordered chicken pad Thai, papaya salad and Tom Kha. Everything came out quick and hot. The flavors were amazing. Everything has a distinct different flavor. I think my favorite dish was the Tom Kha it's aromatic, tangy and creamy. It was very comforting to me. The staff were so nice and attentive. They even brought out a kid plate and utensils for my baby to use which I've never experienced before. That was so nice and sweet, more restaurants should have that. After living in PHUKET for a year, we have searched for a similar taste. Tonight we found it. The pad Thai was exactly what we had in Thailand and that is amazing. A chicken satay was different because it was cut off the stick, but it taste of it with the cucumbers sauce and the peanut sauce was exactly what we remember. Our friend mama had a food stall at Surin beach that was the spot, and the food tonight reminded us of mama it doesn't get any better than that. The chicken was tender and the sauce went great with rice. Glass Noodles with Chicken: Maybe? Nice texture and a light, savory flavor. It was enjoyable, but I usually prefer pad see ew or something a little heartier. Just a personal preference. Papaya Salad: Maybe This one came out very spicy. What a sweet treasure find in this tucked away spot of Solana Beach! It's right across the train station next to a car shop. If you're craving good Thai food, you need to add this to your list. Don't let the front entrance fool you into thinking this is a run down spot. When you walk in, it's beautifully and authentically decorated in Asian style. The seats were a bit worn but all the tables were filled with people chatting and enjoying their food. And the FOOD! Oh they know how to make the Thai dishes I love. We started with the Tom Kha broth, a delicious coconut based soup filled with complex flavors. Pad See Ew noodles, Crying Tiger dish, and Panang Curry filled our main course. The portions were generous, and we gorged ourselves til our bellies cried mercy! And yet, we still had to try their mango sticky rice dessert (what good Thai restaurant would not serve this seasonal delicacy?!) Yes, the sticky rice was soft with just the right amount of sweet and the mangos fresh! So definitely make room for it even when your stomach says no more! This place is a must try for the Solana Beach area. The menu is extensive and has many vegetarian and vegan options. The food is amazing. I believe every order comes with a free side salad and a free side soup, unless I blacked out and ordered them without remembering but I highly doubt it. Both were really yummy and enjoyable. Simple, yet delicious and satisfying. Please try the yellow curry if you have not yet. Although, I found the potatoes and carrots to be a bit undercooked. Otherwise, it was phenomenal. Yesterday my girlfriend and I drove from Linda Vista to dine at what we remembered to be one of our favorite Thai restaurants. Upon walking in we immediately noticed a more stale/sterile and minimalistic decor which on its surface isn't bad until we realized that what we suspect is new ownership, since we last died there about a year ago, has also diminished the level of the food served. We remembered the fresh rolls to contain some carrots and herbs and a noticeable portion of vermicelli noodles. What we received instead was salad greens, and fried tofu. They used to serve along with their peanut sauce very nice homemade sweet chili sauce but now it's some plum sauce out of a store-bought bottle. The server, although nice was by virtue of that overly nice behavior coming across as weird and uncomfortable. Behind our booth, was a man on his phone sitting with his very noisy child who we suspect to be the owner. The entire time we were there, we had to listen to his child making a ruckus, and occasionally being told by his father to stop, which he didn't. Based on the fresh rolls, we decided to just ask for the check and leave. Unfortunately, it appears that someone new took over this restaurant since the last time we dined there and they invested their time and effort into changing the decor (not for the better) and reduced the quality of the food and running the restaurant on a single dining room employee who has to serve all tables and the front host stand. read more

We ordered the following Appetizer: *Coconut Crusted Shrimp Wtih assorted vegetables fritter, tamarind and sweet-chili sauces Soup *Tom Kha Light coconut broth, galangal, napa cabbage, and mushroom. Our entrees: *Pad Thai Pan-fried thin rice noodles, egg, bean sprouts, tofu, Chinese chives, and crushed peanuts with added tofu *Pad Khee Mao Noodles Wide rice noodles with chili-garlic paste, egg, bell pepper, Chinese broccoli and basil with added chicken For dessert : *Mango Sticky Rice Fresh mango served with sweet sticky rice and toasted sesame seeds From the shrimp, the soup to the entrees all were wonderful, flavorful and delicious.
