I love this place. Every Sunday I ride my motorcycle and make this stop at Better Buzz in Encinitas... Good vibes and great food.

I wish they expanded into Orange County or at least South OC, because this is (in my humble opinion) THE BEST COFFEE SHOP. Comparing it to other staple coffee shops, I think Better Buzz is very rich in flavor. In other places, it feels more watered down, especially due to a lot of ice, but I am always so satisfied and pleased with the different drinks + their distinguishable flavor. My favorite the Best Drink Ever, an Americano with their signature vanilla. Mouth watering just thinking about it again. It's the perfect balance of sweetness and caffeine to just be dangerously good. I also love the Hazelnut Divinity, which is a white chocolate mocha with some hazelnut. It is so rich + creamy; it's exactly how I want all of my cups of coffee to be. The shop is also so aesthetically cute; it's the perfect Instagram spot ;) read more

The coffee was great my partner got a vanilla iced latte and I got a blended white mocha. the drinks they're great. The service was bad and I NEVER want to play a race card but it's funny the white girl who was attending and making drinks didn't say hi or welcome when she saw us we only get a "yall ready to order" but when the white guy comes in "hi sir welcome I'll be with you in a moment". I'll come back for the coffee not the service. It's ridiculous read more

This place is amazing all around. I went to the best culinary school in the country. But this place some of the best things I've ever had. Almond croissant...not just thin almonds but thick slivered, and lots of almond cream in the middle...I will dream about the croissant dough! Perfection. The Better Breakfast Sandwich: perfection. Couldn't be better. And the Best Drink Ever: an americano with their vanilla cream...holy yum in my mouth. I'm so happy that I finally went here after living here for 3 years. You have a full fan now! read more

Super bummed because I want to love it, it's so convenient for me. The other day I went in with my two kids and there was no one in line. I waited, expecting to get my drink fairly soon -- no joke 15 minutes went by (and of course I saw they were making other drinks that they had on the line) and I asked the barista when mine would be up. She said she had 8 drinks before mine. I ended up waiting, with a newborn and a 3 year old over twenty minutes for an iced americano. She explained to me that they had huge phone orders called in just before me -- but, if you have any kind of awareness or customer service ability, you'd let the mom with two kids know that before she ordered. Went back yesterday. Ordered breakfast for the whole family & coffees. We spent over $60, and it was not good. The avocado toast was not edible (and I'm not super picky). The avocado was bitter and you could tell way too ripe to serve, it should have been thrown away (which I did). The smoothie bowl my son got had so little fruit on top, I wish I'd have taken a pic because typically it has about three times the fruit. I think our time going here is done, unfortunately. read more

Let me start this review with I love better buzz and I have never had an issue like this before however I will not be returning to this location. I ordered at 9am for an order to be picked up at 9:45am nothing crazy 2 drinks and some avocado toast and a almond butter and jam toast. Show up at 9:45 give my name and the lady tells me it's going to be awhile so I wait, while I'm waiting I'm watching people come in after me order in line and leave before me. It wasn't until 10:05 I got my order and I wouldn't have been so upset but the red headed girl literally didn't care and proceeded to make other peoples orders who came after me. It wasn't until I was visibly upset that she said anything to me. Watched my food sit on the counter until the drinks were finally made.just an awful experience. Don't recommend this specific location ever. I know this review won't effect their business but I Hope management sees it and fixes this for people in the future... read more

Okay, I am a coffee person. I drink a lot of it and I rarely make it myself. So I've been around the coffee scene. I'm also very picky. This is not "coffee". It's sugary caffeine! That's being said, I'm not going to say it's wrong or bad, it's just not my thing. I've had two drinks now from their menu and both were sugar overload. I feel like I need to brush my teeth while drinking them. Yeesh! Best Drink Ever comes with a guarantee so you can return it if you don't think it's the best. But I'd already started driving and couldn't return it. Should have just stuck to a two pump vanilla americano which is my go-to. But I like to see what these places are all about with their specialty drinks. read more

Heads up to my fellow allergy sufferers and vegans, the avocado toast is toasted with BUTTER. There's no mention of this on the menu -- had to figure it out myself after taking a bite. The staff was super nice and offered to remake my food but kind of shocking that this isn't mentioned anywhere. The ingredients are super fresh and the coffee is delicious. Would just appreciate more allergy transparency around dairy especially. read more

Tried the horchata iced latte, probably won't get it again, wasn't bad at all just not my cup of Joe. I typically get the Best Drink Ever. Anyways, Better Buzz rules & definitely have plenty of other tasty things to choose from. Staff is friendly & bonus points to the gentleman at the register for having the shortest & warmest welcome convo on a cloudy morning. read more

This place is awesome! I typically drink black coffee but when I'm feeling like I deserve a treat and I'm at Better Buzz, I always order their Best Drink Ever (hot), which is an a Americano, vanilla powder and I think magical fairy dust. It's delicious and totally worth the calories. I definitely get a strong buzz from it. Also worth mentioning, their açai bowls. Get one. They're yummy and so filling! It's always crowded and loud so if you come here to study or do work, bring headphones. There is only street parking so bee patient. read more

Better Buzz coffee has many branches within SD, but let's talk about this one specifically. It has many tables with outlets. Many people were sitting at tables with their laptops out doing work. Not too noisy, so a great opportunity to get some work done. I ordered the white mocha buzz blended drink. It was way too sweet for me, but no points docked from them since the drink tastes as intended. Drinks took around 5 minutes or less to come out, rarely taking over that time unless you ordered a blended drink like me. Great atmosphere. read more

Fast forward almost a year and I am impressed with Better Buzz, their customer service and their App (well done.) I have been there several times now and things have improved and same great coffee. read more

They accept like 100 door dash orders in the morning. If you don't order by app 20 mins ahead, don't bother going

The workers here are snobby and rude. The boy with curly hair was kind and nice but the blonde girl with shadow roots and the Asian girl are snobby and rude like they hate their job. Why do people have jobs they hate and then get paid for being rude??? Like ???? I used to work at a coffee shop long hours and I would never be rude to someone even if I'm having a bad day. You can make other peoples days based off your own actions. I will never come back. read more

Ordered to this location on accident and was told by the app to call to cancel my order - called several times with no answer so lost my $30

Absolutely the worst service I have experienced. No sense of urgency. The baristas were soulless drones.

Always love getting a Better Buzz! My all time favorite was the Coconut Cream Cold Brew, but sadly, it has been taken off the menu. I did, however, try for the first time the Matcha tea, iced with cream and orange essence. I never would have thought to put these two flavors together but strangely enough, it works! My drink was really good, although too sweet (and I asked for it to be less sweet), for my taste. I keep hoping they will enhance their menu with items such as real maple syrup instead of sugar or pre-made syrups. Plant based creams rather than dairy in the specialty drinks, etc. still, their coffee is really good and I find the employees to be pretty nice, but the Point Loma location definitely seems to be a little more welcoming. So, head over to Better Buzz if you're in the area, the menu is pretty basic with the choice of Lattes, teas, signature drinks and down to the basic cup of coffee. They offer some food items as well, though I haven't tried anything yet. read more

This is the best coffee, the best service, the best customer experience in San Diego County- fun, delicious and fast - when need coffee, and you want to be around wonderful people come here. I am drinking my Snickerdoo latte, and smiling with joy. Mackenzie is a maestro at mocha. read more

Came here a couple of times for coffee. Large seating area (indoor and outdoor) with large windows. "Best Drink Ever" is my go to (is it the cream?!). I did try the mint infused coffee recently, which was more bitter than the Philz equivalent (mint mojito) with less cream. Hard to find parking in the area, which is the only downside. I did also come recently to buy some mugs for a gift - lots of merchandise for die hard fans! read more

Great tasting coffee and their customer service is amazing. The Mocha frozen drink is so good. The muffins were also delicious. The reason they are getting 4 instead of 5 stars is because it was very dirty. The tables seem like no one had cleaned them for awhile. I also love that they sell their coffee to go. Would definitely be back to try their other coffees read more

Way too crowded. Drinks take a long time and hot drinks are usually made quicker than cold crafted drinks, so order your hot drink extra hot otherwise you'll be sipping on a lukewarm coffee drink when your multiple order is finally done. Person receiving order drink and moving the cups in the que also is not wearing gloves and puts his fingers in cups and on the rims while moving them. Latte Coffee is mediocre. Cold crafted drink was much tastier. read more

Staff great was there for the Switchfoot Bro-Am super busy but friendly and accommodating. The blended ice coconut drink is to die for.

I really feel Better Buzz nails it on so many levels. you could spend hours in the laid-back seating area, taking in all there is to see and feel at the heart of Encinitas. Always great customer service and everything feels clean. It's just a shame their cappuccinos and such just suck, so i never actually enjoy it! It's that bitter aftertaste. You'd have to be into the sweeter alternatives which Better Buzz actually does much better. If they were to get some better milk or machine and perfect that standard capp... this could be my favorite place. So convenient... just a bit of a shame read more

I love this place and I love their rose water latte. Finally got the rose water at their Encinitas location! Came here on Sunday for a coffee and some food. Waited quite a long time in line and then had to wait even longer for food and drink. One drink came, someone took it accidentally, then mine finally came and it was missing the flavor. The girl tells me to add my own since it was right there. No biggie but a smidge tacky. I just paid $5.55 and you want me to help you make it? Ok fine. Waited another 10 minutes for poached eggs. Asked about them. They finally came out and they are hard as a rock. The joy of eating poached eggs is eating a soft egg. The girl at the reg asked how I wanted them and they still came out so hard. So now I'm basically eating a $6 hard boiled egg cut in half and I'm not super thrilled about my $12 breakfast. Better buzz, if you're reading this, I would love to not have to pay for my eggs on my next visit. read more

This place is located kind of in a down town area. You would have to find street parking, which is free. There's also parking lot spaces behind the shops but they usually say "for (insert store name here) parking only," so parking can be kind of difficult. Unless you get lucky like I did, but other than that, it's basically the only downside. The store itself is really cute and ig worthy! There's also a lot of table space for people to study and do homework. I've been here before and I got the Best Drink Ever and I just thought it was okay, so I wanted to try something different this time. I decided to go with the Hazelnut Divinity and it was SOOO GOOD!! If you like hazelnut, then this is definitely the drink for you! But I will say, it's pretty sweet for a coffee drink, so if you don't really like coffee, then this is a good drink to get too. A plus side to the drink being sweet is that my drink lasted hours!! Even when all the ice melted, it didn't taste watered down at all and was still pretty good! read more

The coffee has always been amazing. The baristas are always friendly. The open-air atmosphere is literally a breath of fresh air. The beach town vibe is awesome. And as of 2024, the Wifi is much more reliable. It is a joy for me to be productive and get some work done in such a pleasant environment. One secret menu item I suggest is the cortado. You can order it even though it does not appear in the menu. I prefer it because I like more espresso and less milk in my coffee beverage. When I visit, I usually have to park a block or two away, but I consider that an opportunity to get in a beneficial walk for exercise. read more

When you first walk by, the cuteness draws you in immediately. I was almost thinking I didn't want to wait in the line, but those workers are quick and they move that line fast. Super nice people with great personalities. The young gal with the pink and brown hair is so nice! The young man that called my name for my drink also had a great smile and was super friendly as well. This will be my new coffee place when I am in the area for sure!
