The price ranges from 3-4$ per puff so it's not too bad, I did want to try their mini ones but they were sold out for the day and I got sad. But I had gotten the cookies abs cream with vanilla filling, s'mores with chocolate filling, chocolate eclair with chocolate filling, and an original with vanilla filling. The total came out to 17$ which wasn't too bad but still a bit expensive because they charge extra cents for whatever filling you want except for vanilla. Custard is silky and not overly sweet. Outer shell is slightly crispy. Overall the perfect cream puff Croissant taiyaki with custard- croissant is sugar glazed which gives it a nice crunch and burnt sugar flavor. Custard filling is silky and not overly sweet. Dessert comes out warm as the croissant is made fresh Taiyaki cone with custard and matcha- cone is made fresh, slightly crispy and then coated with custard inside before filled with matcha soft serve. Soft serve was strong in matcha flavor and also not overly sweet Cafe has many tables and is very open. Service is always very friendly. While searching what else was in the shopping Plaza as we were waiting to eat dinner, I noticed they had a Beard Papa! We haven't had Beard Papa cream puffs in so long as most of them our area have shut down. We decided to pick some up after dinner. This location in particular was interesting as they offered so many desserts besides Beard Papa's, like ice cream and Taiyaki. I felt like it was multiple dessert places operating out of 1 store. There was quite a few people in line when we were there but they had a lot of workers and it moved fast and efficient. They had a buy 6 cream puffs (any mix and match) and get 1 regular cream puff for free. The day we went, we opted for strawberry shortcake, strawberry eclair, s'mores and cookies and cream. I'd have to say my favorites are usually the fruity flavored ones. I wish they had more fruity cream choices that day but nonetheless, they were delicious! My favorite had to be the strawberry shortcake. Note: we think they taste better frozen so bring em home, freeze them up and eat them the next day. They taste more like ice cream then. I want to try the green tea filling but the 2 times I went, they don't have it. For the cream puff, you can choose with the chocolate cover on the top or without it. I usually got the original one which is without chocolate cover. I recommend you should try their cream puff. My parents tried it once and they love it too I also tried the taiyaki with ice cream and with red bean filling. The taiyaki with red bean filling is good, the red beans are not too sweet. I've been to many Beard Papas locations and all of them seem pretty consistent except for the Irvine location. This location changed the recipe of their custard. For the original vanilla cream puff, I don't see any specks of vanilla bean. The chocolate cream puff tastes spoiled and sour. The place does get a bit nosy but they created a little patio for outdoor seating which is more mellow. This shop is a Mochi Ice Cream/ Beard Papa location. They have a variety of desserts! From mochi ice cream, cream puffs, taiyaki, and shaved ice. Also, a variety of beverages from coffee, lemonade, shakes, teas, lattes. Great pick me up snacks. While in line you can even check out the cute little nick knacks they sell as well. However, this is the third time I've been to this location and each time I've gone, they've always ran out or are running short of the cream puffs and limited to what you can order. You would think on a busy evening you would be a little more prepared. Anyways, I settled for two cream puffs I could care less to try since it was all they had. Had I not already waited 20 minutes in line, I would have just walked out. So you can only imagine waiting all this time to not even get what I wanted. On top of it for the two puffs that I did order, it took nearly 45 minutes just to get it. We shared their Original and their Chocolate. The Original was much better to me. It was custard filled topped with powered sugar. The outer shell was nothing impressive. Witnessed a male, likely the owner or manager, (based on age and role) verbally abusing a younger teen female employee. My wife and I were waiting in line and the adult male (probably the owner or manager) was not only rude to his employee, he was also rude to a customer who had already ordered before we walked in. The customer apparently had ordered cream puffs to go and asked him how much longer it would be? Instead of apologizing for the wait or simply listening to her concerns, he immediately cut her off with a raised voice and stated dining in customers are prioritized. We decided to go elsewhere obviously. There are several amazing options to find a meal or a snack in this shopping center that I am dumbfounded that anyone would work here or spend money here. Is pricey though this the 4 stars and they did take over 10 minutes for my 4 cream puffs when there wasn't that many customers (there was only 1 order ahead of me). Bearded Papas has a great selection of desserts and drinks which I feel are very appealing. They have so many things to try but if you go soley for the cream puff, I do not recomend it. Why? Because they barely have a full inventory of cream puffs! I've came a few times with my freinds to try all the flavors but its hard bc they are always limited. They dont seem to be prepared for busy nights which is surprising. On top of it the wait in the line and the wait to recieve the puff is long. Thankfully they made it a nice place to hang out. The very last time I came here, I over heard what must have been the manager screaming loudy in the back at someone. I felt so bad for the employee that this is the manager they have to work with. These cream puffs are something else. On Saturday night this place was packed!!! But understandably. Long line and they ran out of the mini cream puffs around 8pm so we only got 4 of the regular customizable cream puffs. We got 1 original, 1 honey & butter with vanilla filling, 1 chocolate with matcha filling, and 1 matcha with vanilla filling. I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate and matcha combination. The matcha filling was not too sweet and had the perfect flavored matcha and it was so light and creamy. And you cant go wrong with the chocolate on top. I scarfed it down so quickly. If i could i would only get that combination. Our 4 cream puffs came out only 5 min after we ordered so this place is very efficient. Can't wait to get more cream puffs!!! read more

Always loved bearded papas cream puffs and still do! We ordered 6 cream puffs through yelp (grub hub) for pick up so we can minimize time in store and make the process faster. Upon arrival we see a poster that says buy 6 cream puffs and get one free. We asked the cashier girl about this and she said it only works for in store orders or over the phone orders but not for grub hub which was done through yelp. Not sure what difference this makes since it's a free puff at the end of the day. Makes no sense lol. Made their lives easier by ordering online-not waiting in line and asking questions etc but i guesss (girl with hands up emoji).
