Beachcomber was the closest spot to our hotel as far as dining "on the beach", so we gave it a try shortly after checking in early to our hotel. The beach view is covered by dunes, so you can't see the ocean from any of their dining areas, but it is still close enough to where you can hear the ocean. The menu had a nice variety of options and after seeing their "best wings on the beach" option I figured I would be the judge of that. They were a decent size, but the sauce on them, which consisted of Louisiana hot sauce mixed with honey was good, but the wings had very little of it. Because of this, I asked for an extra side of sauce and ended up being upcharged for it. The sauce was good and made the wings taste good, but that was all. They were good chicken wings and since they are really the only restaurant on the beach they are technically the best wings on the beach, but that's not saying much. My dad tells everyone he finished top 10 in his class. He leaves out the part that there only happened to be 20 people in it. It's a skewed stat. My fiancée ordered the chicken tacos and the few bites that I had were good, despite the tacos having dark meat instead of white meat. Not a huge deal. Our server was ok, our food was good and the atmosphere was pretty laid back and relaxing, which is all we were looking for during our late afternoon lunch. read more

Great food! Husband is super super picky about food (particularly burgers) and he said multiple times what a great burger it was. I got the Reuben and have to say the quality of the meat was superb-no fat. Thousand island dressing was great, homemade chips, and bread was perfect. Staff was very good. Owner stopped by to say hi. We stopped for lunch on our way to Savannah from Orlando. Best blackened fish (trigger fish) sandwich I've had in forever. Everyone else loved their food, too. We really wanted to eat here. The place was recommended to us; the menu looked great. We had no problem waiting 45 minutes to get our table at 8:15. While we were waiting in the sand on the beach chairs, there were kids constantly running around coughing all over us and the parents didn't say anything or seem to care. This is the time of Covid, and it was uncomfortable. We were shown to our table; there were only two tables outside for two people. However, both of them have heavy traffic with people constantly walking by within inches of you. We asked if we could move to another table, they said no. We talked to our waitress who was not wearing a mask, and she did not seem to understand or care. This is the first time I've had to walk out of a restaurant with outdoor seating because we did not feel comfortable. If they could ask the staff to wear a mask and ask patrons to remain seated when they are not wearing a mask, that would help greatly. First off, there is limited parking at this location, but there is free public parking at Jacks BBQ and on the corner of A st. I absolutely loved this place because it's right on the beach and the food was great. My boyfriend got the big fish Reuben sandwich and has not stopped talking about how good it is. Very casual dining experience. Walked down the beach from our condo to get to restaurant and glad we did as parking is very limited. We sat outside as there were fans placed strategically around the area to provide much needed ventilation. Service was good, beer was cold and served in an actual glass. So let me start by saying that unless you are looking for a bar that serves food, this is not for you. In hindsight, I would not have taken my one year old here. That being said, it was very well set up for a bar. They even have a cute little sandbox for kiddos, which we didn't use partially due to rain, and partially because I didn't feel like bathing my son again. Spoil sport, I know. My husband had the penne with shrimp, I had gator bites and corn and shrimp chowder. I am not a fan of gator, I found out. I am sure their recipe is great if you like gator, but too greasy for me. I am extremely disappointed! Our family went to this restaurant in hopes of a nice meal and was told an hour wait for a party of 9. We waited over an hour and a half and watched tables stay vacant for 5-10 minutes each. While waiting listened to multiple people complaining and getting unprofessional responses from the male host, who stayed behind the counter in his hoody. We ended up leaving because we had hungry children who patiently waited almost 2 hours for a meal. After we left we still never got a text that our table was ready. read more

Perfect beachside location, really great specialty drinks, friendly service, and so-so food. The mai tai was great - not too sweet and strong enough to feel like you just drank a mai tai. My two friends also enjoyed their drinks a lot. As for food, we tried the fried calamari, coconut shrimp, and fish and chips. Each dish was over or under seasoned and my friend noted that it seemed like they hadn't changed the oil in the fryer recently. We stopped by Beachcomber on a whim on the way back to SC from vacation. I am so glad we did! The Baja Fish Tacos were incredible and the portion was more than enough to fill you up. The fish was cooked perfectly and the baja sauce was a great compliment to the spicy blackened seasoning. Plus, the view / the patio, was so quintessential beach town.
