I love Bartaco. As a CT native where there are a number of Bartacos, I was so happy to see one in Denver. I haven't been able to have a meal at a Bartaco in several years since moving so it was great going with my fiancé. He's heard me talk about Bartaco plenty of times and our visit only confirmed the hype. If you're planning to come to Bartaco thinking it's a Mexican restaurant or like regular tacos, then you aren't thinking of the right place. This is where you go to discover and try a multitude of small dishes with one of their cocktails. Their vibe is always chill and relaxed at every location. Regardless of the state. We each got the Baja taco, pork belly, and tuna. My fiancé went with these in addition to the falafel. Every taco is delicious, especially the pork belly- I could eat like five of those. The tuna was also amazing and I feel like the Baja is always a staple for me even though between the other two, the flavor isn't as high, but that's what I like about it cause it's all about the crunch satisfaction with the Baja. I also ordered the salad which was delicious. I couldn't finish it all since we also ordered guacamole. I love Bartaco and always have great experiences at each location. Tacos are creative and made with a wide variety of unique ingredients like duck, tuna, and even fried avocado. Tacos in general are pretty tasty, but there definitely were a few "misses" in the bunch -- the tuna was pretty weak in particular. Bartaco is almost so trendy that I never wanna go in, but once I do I'm pleased. Sat at a normal table but the real action is at the bar; can people watch for hours. So excited for this new spot in my neighborhood! We weren't sure what to expect but the anticipation has been growing daily! Finally last week when walking by we saw they had opened so popped in (or called to put ourselves on the waitlist)...so glad we did! My husband went overboard the tacos were so good and while he was stuffed, somehow decided to try every single one :) I was good with my usual portion size. The tuna was amazingggggg! Loved the chicken too, but man that tuna was the best. We got churros just because as well and they were also great! This will definitely become a go to (now we just hope they remember us)! I want to love this place (great vibe and decor) but I absolutely HATE the concept. You have to order everything yourself using your phone and, in theory it's a cool idea, but in practice it was frustrating as hell. My first experience was in Boulder and when we had issues with the phones there, we ended up getting normal table service like you would in any other restaurant- it ended up being a great experience! A year later we popped into the Highlands location (forgetting about their no server concept) and again had issues getting on their platform with our iPhones. There's nothing more frustrating than sitting down at a table and immediately getting stressed out trying to figure out how to order your own food and drinks. This concept just isn't for me. When I am spending $15 for a cocktail, I want good service to go with it. This place is a fail in my book. read more

Wow. Just went here last night, and I am already craving more of the pork belly tacos. What an awesome place. Shout out to Catalina who was hands down one of the most customer friendly employees we have ever met in the restaurant industry. She found out it was my birthday and gave us a bottle of the happy habanero sauce to bring home after we commented on how good it was. We started with the esquites (otherwise known as elote in certain geographical areas) and the guacamole and homemade chips. The corn was fabulous and the guacamole was delicious. I am very picky about guacamole too, so that's saying a lot. Next, we all ordered the tacos. Honestly, the tacos are just chock full of flavor. At the recommendation of my daughter and her boyfriend, I ordered 2 pork belly tacos and 2 duck tacos. Both were superb. I had high expectations for this bartaco. Especially after dining at the one in Tampa. The location and decor are 5 star. But there were a couple things I didn't love. For starters I really didn't enjoy the order via app experience. We barely had any Interaction with the servers. It was just...different? Others may love it, just not for me. Yikes. Another trendy taco bar in Denver - just ok tacos. Ok margs. But quite literally the worst hospitality I've experienced in a long time. The bartender was friendly but took 10min to get drinks. I ordered the sangria and it was not my cup of tea. I asked to exchange it for a margarita. When the bill came we asked about removing the sangria and was told "you ordered it you pay for it". We did not enjoy the beverage nor drink it. Asked for the manager to remove it and was told she couldn't be found. Meanwhile she was sitting in the corner on her phone. Bartender asked again and manager removed it but failed to chat with us about our experience. This was our first visit here and will not be back. An easy win to accommodate your guests and make them want to give you another a try.... But no care from management as she continued her call. read more

Getting a table was bizarre! We called and put ourselves on the list at 6pm. They said it would be 1 1/2 hours. At 7 we show up(Friday night) and they say 2 hours. There is ALMOST NO ONE IN THE RESTAURANT. We sit down in the lounge area and are immediately told we have a table! How strange! We file thru a nearly empty room to sit in the back. The speakers over our heads are blasting so loud we can't hear ourselves think. We ask if the volume could be turned down. No bueno. You have to order on your phone so it was a cluster for 6 people who were paying separately. The drinks were tasty but the tacos were completely uninspired. Bland, dry, and listless. I recommend the owners do a field trip to El Segundo in Vail. They will taste inspiration! The bill was 260$ for 6 cocktails and 12 tacos. This place needs some help. read more

I came to this establishment because of their allergen menu they provide and they are very dairy and soy free friendly. Thank you for catering to people with food allwrgiI was surprised at the food since I was expecting bland hipster vibes but it was good. I liked the duck taco, spiced chicken verde and the chorizo. The pork was a little bland and dry for me. The servers were kind and friendly although understaffed and busy. I love their kids menu and my 8 month old enjoyed the chicken, plantains and fruit skewer. Guac was fresh and spicy. The place is slightly overpriced but overall I would return again. read more

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many restaurants have tried to implement low-contact food service and Bartaco simply does it right. By scanning a QR-code using your phone, you are presented with a vast menu with a variety of unique tacos ranging from carne asada to duck (which is surprisingly delicious) and a fantastic drink/dessert selection. While eating you will surely want to continue the flow of tacos which can be easily done with the click of a button. Bartaco has extremely fast service even though it is mostly contactless. I personally would recommend anyone to try the fish taco, the duck taco, and pork belly taco. Bartaco is must-visit spot in Boulder but be careful, you WILL be coming back every week for your fix. read more

I've heard of this place being very busy and they don't take reservations so that was a very pleasant surprise. Bartaco does it again! We've been to many of their locations and are never disappointed. So happy to finally have one in our neighborhood! We were instantly greeted by the manager, Zach, who made us feel like home. Everything tasted so fresh and amazing. We loved being able to order straight from your phone. Food and drinks came out quick and we loved the ordering process of being able to modify. Pork belly was my boyfriends favorite. For vegans and gluten free eaters I did the portobello in a lettuce wrap and no quest fresco (amazing) along with the cauliflower that came with a delicious sweet yet mildly spicy romesco sauce. Lacks personal touch, or the whole reason for service of any kind, and a tip to reflect the service rendered! Ordered a double (drink) & they brought a taller skinned glass that still held a single, but charged more! When I brought it to the "server's" attention, she scoffed at me & walked off! I used to love this place and when you order at the restaurant it's always fresh but I took a chance with Uber eats tonight and wish I hadn't. The duck birria was burnt (barely any duck) and they didn't even fill the dipping sauce to cover the bottom of the sauce container. The esquites had so much mayo is was basically a soup and so much cayenne pepper that's all I could taste. The ceviche which is normally my favorite menu item was so fishy (like the unfresh old smell) I was too scared to eat it. Wasted money. I am very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food.
