Double fried (not breaded so it's not super crispy fyi) and has a wonderful taste of sweet and savory. Food was ok, the shrimp taco was SPICY so much so my partner and I were sweating. Salsa, guacamole and chips were really expensive tho- $12. But the tacos varied from $3-$4. The atmosphere was great tho! Music was keen I even shazamed it! Service is different as you order on your phone and then server brings it to you. Finally an amazing spot in Denver close to my house! Me and my boyfriend checked this out last night because of a recommendation from a coworker. I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere is fun and beachy. We got spicy margs which were delicious. I do have to ding them because mine was perfect where as my boyfriends was a bit too sweet and not spicy at all. I know drinks can differ slightly by make but hopefully they can fine tune that in the future. We started with the dip trio - the guac was the best thing imo. Then we tried an array of tacos. My favorites were the fish, tuna, and falafel. I was so shocked by the falafel! It was better than actual med restaurants. Also our waitress was delightful. There wasn't anyone at the hostess stand when I arrived, so I had to wait a while, but found my friends who were already seated. It sounds like they don't take reservations, so we were lucky to get a spot. It was pretty cold in there and my table ate with our coats on. As other reviews of mentioned, you order from your phone. It sounds like you can order from a server, but the only time they came by is when they were dropping off our food, so not sure how you do that. It makes it difficult to ask questions about the menu. I loved my fried avocado taco and très leches dessert. I don't like spicy, so I specifically ordered things that weren't described as spicy, including the duck birria and corn minus the cayenne pepper, but they were both still too spicy for me. This place is a 10 out of 10! Ambiance was inviting and cool upon arrival! Our bartender gave us amazing service, answered all our questions and gave great suggestions and honesty! The tacos were great and fresh! We tried the pork belly, the pork tacos, the green chili chicken(my personal favorite), the fish taco(our least favorite), and the duck! They were all worth trying out! The street corn was really good and rich in flavor. The pineapple and tajin was top tier! Key lime pie as also delicious and rich! We will definitely be back! If you're on the edge about where to go to eat, look no further. The food is AMAZING. They have their own recipes for everything, and it's amazingly crafted. This place surpassed my expectations. Bartaco is a fun and friendly establishment. Their online ordering is super-fast a simple to use. No need to wait and ask for the check, you simply order and pay your bill when you're ready to head out. Service was really memorable here. My friend and I sat at the bar and the three different people that helped us were laid back and friendly, one woman was even pretty funny. I appreciated their knowledge of the food and the spicy ness of things since I am kind of weak when it comes to super spicy foods haha Cute place, it was crazy packed on a Wednesday night haha so definitely expect to wait a bit. So happy to stumble upon a Bartaco in Denver! It was one of the only places we could walk-in and grab a drink and small plate on a Friday late night. It was exactly what our group was looking for at the time. The food never disappoints and bartenders know how to make drinks! The aesthetic is such a vibe too. Went here this weekend with my husband after coming in the winter and loving it! Unfortunately this trip didn't hold the same appeal. We did 6 different tacos and none wowed. The fillings were very light, the Baja fish was cold, and the tortillas fell apart. Lots of veggie options and great wine list. Started with salsa roja and tostados. The toastados were salty and yummy. Salsa was really fresh! We split six tacos between two people so we could try a bunch. I loved the falafel the best! Baha fish was delicious too. Chicken Verde and Shrimp were HOT and yummy. Mushrooms was good but not the top of my list. I was really excited about the fried oyster - but it wasn't super flavorful. We were full and happy at the end! For the vibe - decor is amazing and it's just all around a fun place to be. I loved the people watching. I will say - it feels VERY trendy, which isn't what I was going for the night we meandered in - but it was fun and I felt totally comfortable in my jean shorts on a Thursday night ... even though there were way more fashionable youths all around us. The ordering system works great - but it's kind of a weird quarantine hangover of QR codes / online ordering / little communication with the server. But it was easy to ask questions when we had them, everyone was incredibly friendly and the food and drinks came out FAST! I just might be more of an old school restaurant kind of gal myself. This place is definitely cool! I truly like the concept. First off, street parking is almost impossible. You will be lucky to find something close. Use the parking garage and save time from driving in circles or long walks. What I liked about this place was that you really don't have to wait on a waiter or waitress to greet you, bring you waters, wait for a server to order drinks and food. It's all done on your mobile device. Happy hour pricing is the exception. You will have to turn in a paper order or go to the bar for that. Other than that, order away. A 20% gratuity is automatically applied to all orders. Also, if you want to go off script a bit with your order, just flag down a server and they will be glad to help. We wanted to try a different version of salsa, so we just asked, and they brought it you. So, the phone ordering thing isn't a hard fast rule. I'm rather picky with my rum so I asked at the bar, and they brought me what I wanted. All the employees were super helpful and friendly. I love a place where you can sit on a couch, living room style. Overall, a very awesome dining experience. Always looking for a late night taco spot. They close at 12, but the kitchen closes at 11 fyi. This place is different from most, you order and pay through your phone. If you have questions about the menu, you can flip your card at the table and someone will come and answers questions for you. But this makes me wonder with less of a service how do you tip? I wanted to sample the half chicken, so I ordered from the kids menu. It was good, wasn't dry but didn't have much flavors to it. All the tacos we tried were good, nothing spectacular that stuck out to me. The salsa or hot sauces were not spicy. And there was no green chili, that is always a must for tacos, esp in Colorado. The cucumber salad was nice, that is something that can't be messed up. But our favorite was the tres leches dessert- love it! Finding this at any place to offer as a dessert is rare. So when we saw this we had to try it and it was delicious. I was in between 3 and 4 stars for my rating. And the reason why I went lower is because the second time we came back, the service was horrible and we were rushed to ordered because the kitchen and bar closed at 11 when we were told they closed at 12. I'm not sure if they were just trying to close but the food came out not as good as the first time we tried it- or maybe differnt cooks. read more

Such a good spot and could accommodate our group who had many allergies and included a vegan. The plantains were a great addition for the baby who we also needed to accommodate. It did take a while to get our food but In lohi all of these restaurants are hopping. Keep in mind that you don't have a waiter when you come in and need to order food and drink on your phone. Drove by bartaco a few weeks ago and thought it was so cute; I knew I wanted to have my next girls night here. We enjoyed great hospitality, great food and great margaritas! We had really friendly servers, who checked in often, and opened up the windows for us upon request when it was getting a little hot in there. I tried the spicy margarita, mushroom taco, cauliflower taco, chips and guac, street corn and churros. Would highly recommend all of them! There was a bit of a wait on a Friday night, even after checking in ahead of time, we still had about a 30 minute wait when we got there in person, but it was a Friday night after all in the Highlands so that is to be expected. Food was good but I knew it would be. The location is cute. Parking sucks so arrive with time to find. The inside was clean and spacious. We did the ordering via paper since we were with a group so the order got a bit mixed up and some stuff we had to request to get as it was forgotten so it came after we were done. And other stuff we can't even remember if we got when we thought about it after we left. The music from other locations I've been to is usually upbeat this location was a bit sleepy. Had I not ordered a whole thing of salsa I would've barely had any sauce to put on the tacos. After having their pork belly bowl I will gladly change my last name to marry this pork belly bowl, and move states just to be closer to it. Haha, but in all seriousness, this venue IS THE SPOT. I went for a quick bite on a Friday evening. I fly solo, so snagged the last stool at the large bar. The place was definitely hopping. I liked the variety of offerings, especially small plates. Plus I enjoyed a glass of Cava, an undervalued wine (loved the coupe glass). I'll return for another visit in order to sample more foods. They have a nice selection of vegetarian options too. Only drawback was the loudness of the restaurant--nothing to absorb sound so may be a challenge for some. read more

The food is good here and we like coming. But they blast the music so loud you can't have a conversation without yelling. This is such a common occurrence in Denver restaurants and I can't for the life of me understand it. I think the severs and bar tenders enjoy it but the patrons...not so much.
