We heard about this place from a friend. It is all gluten free. My best friend has celiac disease and it is so nice to find a place that you can safely order anything off the menu. Our server was great and explained that the place was a former mortuary (Olinger) and was where Buffalo Bill was put on ice as he awaited his funeral. The bar downstairs is called Dearly Departed and is worth checking out as well. The food was delicious. We all agreed we did not feel there was any flavor lost in the gluten free.

Even better than the Arvada location. More extensive menu with great tacos, plates, apps etc Awesome happy hour Great service and ambiance Check out the great speakeasy downstairs the Dearly Departed ... really beautiful space

We stumbled upon Teocalli Cocina for an early lunch and we were extremely impressed! I had the enchiladas plate with chicken. The enchilada will filled with chicken which doesn't happen frequently when I order enchiladas. It was very favorable and served with a side of beans and rice. Our server was top notch, responsive, and made the meal a delight. The decor was cute and sleek which was great to bring friends or colleagues after a long day at work. Definitely try this place out!

I have been here twice to the Denver location, and both times have been amazing service and food! Our server was super friendly and attentive, the tacos were delicious, and we enjoyed the happy hour margaritas.

Wow wow wow!! You guys.... This place is so good. If you couldn't tell from my "wow wow wow" intro! Teocalli is genuinely such a fun place to go to. First of all, the menu is really big so good luck choosing what to order. Naturally, we ordered a little bit of everything because it all sounded way too good. But let's go down the list... We started with the salsa trio: the roasted tomatillo, x-ni-pek (pineapple, habaneros), and the avocado verde. Each were very tasty and we made sure to save extra to put on all our tacos. I will say the pineapple was my personal favorite, but the avocado was a close second behind. They were all smoky and paired really well with everything we ordered. Next was the guacamole and queso. So the guacamole is their specific version so it has green chorizo and jalapeños. It added a nice texture. Also I'm a big fan of cotija cheese so when I saw that on there, I'm hooked. It was well balanced and again, we put it on everything! The queso was also a different take than a normal queso, but I'm here for it. Of course it came out sizzling and I was just in love. On top were pickled onions, jalapeños, and surprisingly macha salsa and chimichurri. It was different but the macha salsa brought it all together. A hint of sweet, a hint of spice.. chef kiss! And also let's give it up for the chips because they were really good to. But the tacos are the most important part! First of all: the pricing is fantastic. $4.50 to $6.50 for a taco. And you can mix and match. They are filled to the brim (extra napkins please) and are so unbelievably delicious. I got the birria taco and used the consommé for every other taco I ate. It added so much. It was crispy and decadent. The carne asada is always a classic and this did not disappoint. I also tried one of their vegetarian tacos, the cotija. It was good but probably my least favorite. My friend ordered a bunch of other tacos as well and she only had good things to say. They're all topped with goodies and seasoned to perfection. I'm sad to say we didn't order dessert but that just means we have to come back! My friend also brought her dog so know that they are dog friendly outside on the patio. Our waitress was so sweet and answered every question. She was awesome. Honestly, the vibes outside are relaxing and chill. But if you want a moody fun time or date night, go inside. It is so fun and the ambiance is kinda angsty? But like... in a good way? I'm unfortunately in Colorado Springs, but trust me when I say, I will make a trip back to Denver to eat here again. It is top tier!

A good place for large or small parties. An open space concept restaurant. Food and drinks are good. Favorites of the meal include the esquites, Aro De Fuego margarita, and the carne asada taco. Our server was friendly and checked in on us frequently. He even offers to separate our checks, which was very nice of him to do for us. They do add a 4% service fee on all checks.

I had to come back to try this place again! It was just as great as the first time! The place was pretty packed and lively, but we luckily got a table on a Wednesday night. The tacos were incredible! We also got the salsa trio and got to pick the 3 salsa of our choice. We got the pineapple, tomatillo, and habanero. All so good and packed a good kick! Our server was really nice and attentive. Definitely will be coming back again!

Tried the new location in LoHi and was very impressed! I'd recommend branching out and not getting the classic margarita, and they have a lot of other great options that I'd like to go back to try. The tacos were delicious and reasonably priced! Taking off a star for the disappointing chips and salsa trio (the salsa trays came out about half full if that) and the chips were bland. Additionally, we sat outside on the deck, which is great vibes, but our server was not the friendliest or most helpful. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt since this place is new and that can be stressful!

Had an excellent lunch at Teocalli's new location in LoHi. Service was friendly and very attentive. They have a nice selection of cocktails, wine, and beer to choose from. There is seating inside as well as on the patio that overlooks downtown Denver. For my party of 3, we shared the esquites since this is a dish not typically offered. Their esquites have a unique but flavorful burnt tortilla aioli and come with extra homemade tortilla chips to enjoy the tasty dip. I opted for the pozole verde and a bigeye tuna taco. The tuna was a lettuce wrap with sticky rice and mango salsa, messy but delicious. The pozole verde was a generous portion of tender pork, hominy, cabbage, radish, and lime--so generous I had two containers of leftovers to take home! I will definitely return to try more items off of the menu.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST MEALS IVE HAD IN A WHILE. Their garlic rice is a must. We clearly inhaled our food. The taco did come out cold but otherwise it was great. The service was good. They also have an inside outside bar that was too cute ! Cute lights and ambiance.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Great margs, awesome happy hour & phenomenal tacos. Everything was delicious though we preferred the tacos to the enchiladas. The birria here is out of this world. The macha salsa is to die for as well. $6 happy hour margs? Can't beat it.

This is the Michelin restaurant that you go to if you like a more casual / less stuffy experience. Food: 4 Every dish that we ordered was delicious, but slightly on the heavy side without anything light/acidic to break it up. Perhaps it's because of what we chose to order though! Frijoles Puerco: This was a play on refried beans and chorizo. The chorizo has a little kick to it. The sourdough tortillas were delicious and served fresh and warm. Callo De Hacha Al Horno: The scallops were a flavor bomb served in a serrano ponzu and tomato butter. I'm unsure why the scallops were cut into smaller pieces instead of left whole... Enmoladas De Pollo: This was essentially chicken enchiladas cooked in mole so I was skeptical if I would find this dish worthwhile. They proved me wrong as this was one of the best dishes of the night. The mole was flavorful, not too heavy, and the chicken enchilada was so well cooked. Birria De Borrego: The lamb shank was cooked until it was fork tender. After taking it apart, wrap it in a fresh and warm tortilla with refried corn beans and salsa. The lamb was well cooked and made for a good balanced bite, but it did feel special. Service: 5 We set at the chef table and was able to watch as they finished and plated each dish. The chef was attentive without being overbearing/annoying and we had a good conversation with him. Food came out at a good pace. Ambiance: 5 The restaurant is small and cozy. It didn't feel stifling or pretentious as other fine dining restaurants can sometimes feel. This would be perfect for a date or dinner with friends.

Others in my party might not have felt that way. But nonetheless they enjoyed the entire experience. It felt like everything we ate (at first) was pretty spicy. But by the end, the spice level was coming down. Some of the highlights, the sweet potato, the sourdough tortilla with the chorizo burrito. The scallops. The cod. The birria. The mushroom quesadilla. So, pretty much all of it! I enjoyed everything that I ate! I'm interested to come back for happy hour, since they have a few different plates on that menu. For dinner, I'll keep it reserved for special occasions. Try and get a reservation, I think you'll enjoy yourself, if you appreciate craft cuisine. Good job, Alma Fonda Fina Team!
