    Pollo Rostizado tacos and Rice

Unique but similar flavors to traditional Mexican food. Cooked well and tasty. Came during happy hour so was happy about the prices. Staff was very quick and friendly. Interior was nicely decorated.

One of my favorite spots to bring people near Union Station! Everything I have tried here is good, and the portions are decent. I would recommend getting 3 tacos each and chips and salsa or queso to split. Margs are amazing too... the Kona is my favorite. It's a little darker inside, but makes for a cool vibe and turns from more of a family restaurant to bar at night.

My favorite michelada in town! Food is mid but tequila and drinks always hit! Adding back into the rotation for sure

Super yummy tacos (I had the el pastor and it was prob one of the best I've ever had) and the chips and salsa (four flavors) were also on point.

Loved the vibes here. Had a great time. Friendly patrons & bartenders. Food was delicious & didn't take long. The sauces that came w/ the guac were tastier than the guac. Tacos were flavorful. My fav was the veggie one. Salmon was cooked a bit over. Overall, enjoyable & recommended. Bar seating a bit tight & restroom could've been better.

    Campechano

I literally fly to Colorado from the west coast just to have their tacos. I've never been on a date where I haven't brought them here. Hands down the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I've been going to this place now for almost 10 years! It has such a cute day of the dead theme to it too inside. Good atmosphere, good location, great service. I wish there were better parking downtown Denver though, right next to Union Station.

Quirky interior with great service. I gave this place a 4 last time but I'm upgrading it to a 5! The Al Pastor, Campechano, and Arrachera Chile Relleno tacos are fantastic and full of so much flavor!

If you're hitting Machete and you're lucky enough to get Nikowa, just know you're in for a good time. Nikowa took care of us like we were regulars--even though it was our first time at this location. Super friendly, fast with the service, and somehow managed to juggle a packed house while still making sure our table was dialed in the whole night. Tacos were fire (obviously), drinks were strong, but it's the service that really stood out. Nikola had great recommendations, kept the vibe light, and never let us sit with an empty glass. Bottom line: Go to Machete, get the tacos, and ask for Nikowa. You'll thank me later.

Had a quick lunch here, the vibe is very vibrance despite the dark interior. Service was very fast. I'd say the chip were the star of the show, its the type that taste less corny (if you know you know). All the salsas were really bland in my opinion. But the queso fundizo with chorizo was really good! A tastey snack size I must say. But other than that the taco as well as quesadilla was very mid. I'd recommend come for snacking and not meals.

    Vegan tacos!

Got into Denver on the A-train from the airport and was starving! Saw Mechete right across the street from Union Station. This is a must eat at place! The menu is large and incredible. They also have many options for those with cerrtain dietary needs (gluten free, vegan). If you like margarita's they have the best hands down! I go the cadicallac which has a topper of grand marnier. YUM. We started out with the Guacamole appetizer. This is not your little appetizer! Not only did it come with guacamole (super good) it comes with a taster of different salsas! Must start! I picked the 3 vegan tacos (one needs to be w/out cheese) and they were packed with veggies and it is so filling! MENU NOTE: my partner got the Calma Borracho. This is really a shareable and not a single meal! It is huge! and a ton of food! Eat local. Go to Machete's and grab a marg and taco's!

All that said, my first time at Strange was two weeks ago. I'd heard about this place for years from one of my friends, but never been. What a low-key, great place! The bartenders were chill. The prices were incredibly reasonable for craft, microbrew and a most excellent selection as you could want. The folks that seemed to be regulars were friendly... can see why my friend has been going there for so long, now! And, hello, shopping center parking in a quasi-industrial area that totally felt safe?! I'm definitely throwing this place back in the hat for another rotation here!

I am glad my friend recommended it and I look forward to going back. I got a mango sour beer and it was delightful with nice and not overwhelming taste. They also have festive beers like the gingerbread beer. The thing that makes this place stand out though is the people. Tyler was an awesome bartender and a great person to make conversation with. I would go back just for him.

The seating areas feel intentionally designed, cozy, and creative ~ and they rotate the layout every couple of months, which keeps things feeling fresh. When I stopped by, the main room was set up with comfy couches, lounge chairs, and bean-bag-style seating that practically invites you to settle in. I got so relaxed I ended up hanging out for several hours without even realizing it. It's the kind of place where time disappears in the best way. Great service without being overbearing, which always elevates the experience. We didn't take advantage of the patio vibes or rooftop deck with a fire pit, but this is still on our list! While waiting for a table, we cozied up to the bar and ordered drinks. One of the bartenders noticed I ordered the hibiscus margarita and asked me, offhandedly, if I was a fan of spice. Yes, please. With that, he cancelled my order and made me something "not on the menu" but what I called the "Patrick special." So good. Thanks, sir! We ordered burgers and shared their buffalo cauliflower starter. This, my friend, was absolutely amazing. Loved the buffalo spice paired with the bleu cheese. Easy way to enjoy some veggies. And along the same theme, I ordered the Buff and Bleu burger. This was so good, so flavorful and so messy. Don't judge me, but I resorted to using my fork, lol! It was so well balanced. Will have again. Parking here means street parking, but there were plenty of open spots on a Saturday night. The walk was nice. We can't wait to return, maybe on a game day, or maybe to enjoy Sunday brunch on the rooftop. Maybe a sunset for another date night. With this level of yumminess, the possibilities are endless.

Great location, relaxed vibes, especially on a Sunday evening. The beer was solid, but the food stole the show (mostly across the board). Most of our group was happy with their dishes. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad, and the sandwich was top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and this one absolutely hit the spot. It was also pretty large, which made it more of a fork-and-knife situation than a handheld one, but no complaints there. A few people in our party upgraded their sides to the sweet potato fries, which were next level. Perfect balance of crispiness with a hint of sweetness that made them stand out. One miss in the group was the mac and cheese; my sister ordered it and wasn't a fan, felt it was too liquidy/runny and underwhelming compared to everything else we tried. Only minor knock overall was that the kitchen was pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy late on a Sunday evening. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting if you're in a hurry. Overall, great first Denver meal; good beer, mostly good food, and a relaxed spot that made for a solid welcome to the city.
