Pollo Rostizado tacos and Rice
Angel L.

Unique but similar flavors to traditional Mexican food. Cooked well and tasty. Came during happy hour so was happy about the prices. Staff was very quick and friendly. Interior was nicely decorated.

One of my favorite spots to bring people near Union Station! Everything I have tried here is good, and the portions are decent. I would recommend getting 3 tacos each and chips and salsa or queso to split. Margs are amazing too... the Kona is my favorite. It's a little darker inside, but makes for a cool vibe and turns from more of a family restaurant to bar at night.

Super yummy tacos (I had the el pastor and it was prob one of the best I've ever had) and the chips and salsa (four flavors) were also on point.

My favorite michelada in Denver

My favorite michelada in town! Food is mid but tequila and drinks always hit! Adding back into the rotation for sure

Salmon, shrimp, lobster, veggie

Loved the vibes here. Had a great time. Friendly patrons & bartenders. Food was delicious & didn't take long. The sauces that came w/ the guac were tastier than the guac. Tacos were flavorful. My fav was the veggie one. Salmon was cooked a bit over. Overall, enjoyable & recommended. Bar seating a bit tight & restroom could've been better.

Taquiza containing 2 Arrachera, 1 Campechano, 3 Al Pastor, 1 Quesabirria, 1 Tinga, 1 Pescado, 1 Camaron, 2 De La Milpa.

Quirky interior with great service. I gave this place a 4 last time but I'm upgrading it to a 5! The Al Pastor, Campechano, and Arrachera Chile Relleno tacos are fantastic and full of so much flavor!

Food amazing atmosphere awesome staff is welcoming and good place to cath a game or have somting before a big event

Campechano

I literally fly to Colorado from the west coast just to have their tacos. I've never been on a date where I haven't brought them here. Hands down the best tacos I've ever had in my life. I've been going to this place now for almost 10 years! It has such a cute day of the dead theme to it too inside. Good atmosphere, good location, great service. I wish there were better parking downtown Denver though, right next to Union Station.

If you're hitting Machete and you're lucky enough to get Nikowa, just know you're in for a good time. Nikowa took care of us like we were regulars--even though it was our first time at this location. Super friendly, fast with the service, and somehow managed to juggle a packed house while still making sure our table was dialed in the whole night. Tacos were fire (obviously), drinks were strong, but it's the service that really stood out. Nikola had great recommendations, kept the vibe light, and never let us sit with an empty glass. Bottom line: Go to Machete, get the tacos, and ask for Nikowa. You'll thank me later.

Had a quick lunch here, the vibe is very vibrance despite the dark interior. Service was very fast. I'd say the chip were the star of the show, its the type that taste less corny (if you know you know). All the salsas were really bland in my opinion. But the queso fundizo with chorizo was really good! A tastey snack size I must say. But other than that the taco as well as quesadilla was very mid. I'd recommend come for snacking and not meals.

Vegan tacos!

Got into Denver on the A-train from the airport and was starving! Saw Mechete right across the street from Union Station. This is a must eat at place! The menu is large and incredible. They also have many options for those with cerrtain dietary needs (gluten free, vegan). If you like margarita's they have the best hands down! I go the cadicallac which has a topper of grand marnier. YUM. We started out with the Guacamole appetizer. This is not your little appetizer! Not only did it come with guacamole (super good) it comes with a taster of different salsas! Must start! I picked the 3 vegan tacos (one needs to be w/out cheese) and they were packed with veggies and it is so filling! MENU NOTE: my partner got the Calma Borracho. This is really a shareable and not a single meal! It is huge! and a ton of food! Eat local. Go to Machete's and grab a marg and taco's!

Does Machete not take reservations on weekends? I'm looking two months out even and nothing is available on Thurs-Fri-Sat.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

My friends and I tried a number of the signature cocktails and had a few hot toddys that were super good. I'm personally a big gin and soda fan and loved ther housemade tonic that was in their classic G&T. Did not try any of the food but the dawgs were definitely would be tempting if I was hungry. Loved the decor and the plants all up in the space. The space is a bit more dimly lit and I think of a reasonable volume for a date. Would love to come back and spend some more time here.

That's when I came across Dearly Departed and I'm so glad I did. We arrived right when they opened at 5pm and were able to walk in and be seated immediately. The speakeasy is tucked into the underground portion of the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The space is beautifully decorated, moody, intimate, and effortlessly upscale. It truly sets the tone the moment you walk down. We ordered two spritzes and a charcuterie board, and both exceeded expectations. The drinks were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and felt elevated without being overcomplicated. But the real star was the charcuterie board. For $20, it was an incredible value, stacked with a variety of meats, cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, and peppers. The freshly grilled bread was a standout touch, and the portions were more than generous. Every bite felt thoughtfully curated, and there was something new and delicious in every corner of the board. Between the ambiance, the quality of the drinks, and the impressive food, Dearly Departed delivered an experience that felt both cozy and refined. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out for the atmosphere alone. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying more from their menu.

Cozy spot for some classy bites and cocktails. I think I probably got off on the wrong foot when I asked for sparkling water instead of flat and found out it was $7 per personal mini bottle (and they don't have club soda). My first time encountering that in Denver in the last 14 years... The cocktail concept is cool: pick a classic, slightly updated, or super creative version from 5 categories (martini, old fashioned, sour, spritz, highball). The spicy mango sour (with mezcal) was awesome -- although I expected egg white on a sour. The martinis were ok... a bit of a let-down in today's collection of Denver martinis at other local spots (think anchovy, sour cream and onion, holy trinity, and old bay). The food was also hit or miss. We loved the cauliflower/potato Bravas with the slightly spicy sauce, as well as the croquettes and their sauce. The tuna crudo was super bland, which is disappointing for $19.

I had the eggs Benedict with duck, which was savory and tender- would get again, even if it was a little small for a $22 meal. I also got a mimosa and a raspberry beret- the beret was delicious and served with the coolest presentation- they used dry ice to create smoke! The decor is very maximalist mid century- love it! Great for a date or if you are impressing someone. Don't let the location scare you off- everything around it looks closed but once you get inside it's absolutely beautiful. I can't end this review without gushing about the staff. I had a weird fainting episode and scared the crap out of my friend- our server and the rest of the staff were on it, so sweet and helpful. They got me a cold towel and an ice bucket so that I could recover. I was so impressed by how they handled everything! Ultimately, I would come back just for the service, but the food and drinks were excellent as well. Definitely worth returning for!

My husband told them it was my birthday before we arrived so they made me an ube martini. Purple and fantastic! I ordered the tiramisu, my husband got a classic espresso and my best friend got the Dubai chocolate. All of them were beautiful! I think my favorite was the Dubai chocolate. We also ordered appetizers of the burrata and the sweet potato croquette. Burrata is always fantastic! The croquettes were good. They were doing Star Wars themed drinks for May the 4th so Star Wars was playing in a screen (that you could barely see due to the sun). They both got the red velvet espresso martini topped with whipped coffee. It was cute but very sugary. Service was fantastic! The staff was so nice!! Maybe I'm just not used to inflation yet but the prices for everything just felt so expensive!!

Laid back vibe and welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious at all. The bartenders were knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Always stayed on top of my drinks. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious. You could pick out every flavor, yet everything melded together so well. They also have some basic bar food and snacks, but somewhat elevated. I had the D&C Burger and it was juicy, rich, and had some great accompanying fries. I usually try to give a more in depth idea of cocktails available, but Death & Co has such a diverse menu with so many amazing craft cocktails that I can't offer that this time . . . you'll have to go in and see it for yourself!
