I used to love this place and when you order at the restaurant it's always fresh but I took a chance with Uber eats tonight and wish I hadn't. The duck birria was burnt (barely any duck) and they didn't even fill the dipping sauce to cover the bottom of the sauce container. The esquites had so much mayo is was basically a soup and so much cayenne pepper that's all I could taste. The ceviche which is normally my favorite menu item was so fishy (like the unfresh old smell) I was too scared to eat it. Wasted money. I am very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. Unfortunately Bartaco has completely gotten rid of their servers. You as the customer have to place your own order type in your credit card number order more drinks from an app and then they charge you an 18% gratuity for you to basically serve yourself. If I wanted to serve myself I would've ate at home. So disappointing! Makes visiting with your friends and enjoying a meal pretty tough. read more

This is a cool place to grab a drink, go on a date, people watch, and enjoy the atmosphere. But...if you're actually hungry and looking for a satiating meal this is NOT the place to go. $3-4 dollars will get you a small, unimpressive single taco. So in theory you basically have to spend $20-30 on tiny tacos to feed yourself. Unfortunately, this restaurant chain follows what most of Denver's restaurants entail: small, unimpressive portions for way too much money. The service is unique: their app allows you to order a la carte, keep ordering throughout your stay, pay, and finish your dining experience all without being hassled by a waiter trying to push their $12 cocktails. Loved this place! Came here when we saw they were open until midnight, and it did not disappoint. 1. Atmosphere: fun and friendly vibes all around. We sat at the bar and immediately felt welcomed. 5/5 stars 2. Service: our bartender Chris was a sweetheart. He had a great attitude and demeanor, and his suggestions as far as drinks and food did not disappoint. He was attentive without being overbearing, and friendly without being disingenuous. 5/5 stars 3. Drinks: I ordered the Pineapple Express which was pretty awesome. If you're sitting at the bar - the food, drinks and happy hour are wonderful. If you sit at a table you don't get happy hour deals or an actual server. Pretty busy for a Tuesday in Denver. This place is hip, but not uninviting. I did not know this was a chain, it really had a neighborhood vibe. The service here was nice however besides having our food ran to us and getting seated we didn't have any interaction with staff. You are your own server. The food portions are extremely small and not great in my opinion. You're not able to take anything off of your order either which is fine, just wish I could have gotten the sauce on the side as it was way too spicy for my palate. When I choose to dine out, I love to experience a fun and engaging dining atmosphere. I have a handful of very fun memories at the Bartaco in Boulder, and was thrilled to hear that they opened a location in Denver, and had to check it out! My friends and I were so bummed to see them step down to a lower level of hospitality than we've experienced with Bartaco in the past. I know I'm not alone in spending WAY too much time on my phone, and when I have the opportunity to meet with friends for a couple of hours, I love to disconnect. It's a no-phone zone. But, Bartaco has permanently adopted a QR code ordering and payment system. It is completely disconnected from human interaction (which was great during the pandemic, but do not agree with for long term ordering). It was totally off putting to have to enter my credit card info before I could even order a drink. There was no opportunity for an employee to offer recommendations, to answer questions we may have, or even talk about their house made hot sauces on the table. They've completely thrown service to the wind and put it in the diner's hands. Pretty unfortunate, if you ask me. The food and drinks are ok, I'd give it 7/10 stars, but not good enough to return, sadly. read more

You can just order tacos and drinks as needed, which means we got to try out a couple different tacos then order more of our favorites. That made it easy to sample. My husband and I absolutely loved this place. We lived in LoHi for 4 months and came here frequently. The drinks (especially the margs) are incredible and made fresh squeezed. Everything we ate was delicious - standouts were the ribeye taco, the pork belly taco and the crispy oyster taco. First of all, this place is just adorable! We came from Texas for a concert at Red Rocks and happened into this little gem. The bartenders Thea and Abby were amazing. So sweet and welcoming! The manager on duty was super cool and it was a wonderful atmosphere. The Margs are to die for!! Updating my review after a great experience at Bartaco last night. My friends and I were grateful for the chance to go back and redeem our previous less-than-ideal visit. The service was fantastic...orders came out fast, and the servers were super attentive, making sure we had everything we need and that everything met our expectations. We ordered three margaritas (all of which were correct this time), the esquites, the plantains, the chips and guac, the chicken tacos, the fish tacos, the cauliflower tacos and the churros for dessert. All in all, it was a wonderful visit, and we look forward to visiting Bartaco again in the future! read more
