Stopped here on a trip across the bridge from SF. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, and tried various items on the menu. The sangria pitcher was very bland and had no fruit..? Which I'm not used to. It did serve all 6 of us though, but not worth it in my opinion. The calamari was very good, loved the combo with cous cous and pine nuts. Very flavorful and calamari wasn't chewy. The pork sausage pizza had a really watery red sauce and was average to me, but the crust was good. The mushroom pizza I liked, but it wasn't as garlicky as I thought it would be. Also wish there was more cheese. It was a great idea to add prosciutto (: they did add a lot of mushrooms which was nice! read more

Had a solid meal here, including the mushroom pizza, cheese pizza (for children), meatballs, and salmon. Overall it was really good with the only criticism that the quinoa-asparagus was quite acidic. For young children, it was also nice that we could walk around to the beach as well to run around while waiting for food. read more

We visited Bar Bocce today with my wife and 5-year-old, hoping for a fun family lunch by the water. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired, especially for families with young kids. When we arrived, the hostess told us there would be a 1-hour wait for a table. Not wanting to wait that long, we opted for a bar table--even though it was quite high and uncomfortable for our child. To our surprise, we saw several groups (some larger than us) get seated at regular tables within 10 minutes of arriving, while we were left struggling at the bar. I went back to the hostess to ask if we could be added to the waitlist for a regular table, but she refused, saying that since we had already ordered, we couldn't be put on the list. Meanwhile, there were empty tables that stayed unseated for quite a while. It felt like there was no consideration for our situation or any willingness to accommodate families with young children. The location is beautiful and the food is decent, but the inflexible and inconsiderate service really soured our visit. If you're coming with kids, be prepared for a potentially frustrating experience. We won't be rushing back. read more

We spent the afternoon in Sausalito this past Monday after our wedding on Sat as a quick little getaway. Found this cute little bar for dinner after a quick hike nearby. A little pricey but overall had a good experience. It seemed that the bocce set had to be reserved in advance. The service was great. However, they recently had a sign that said they had 2 incidents with pets so only service animals allowed as of right now. Had the house-made blood orange sangria and now I can tell why people order pitchers of this stuff. Tasted like juice (in a good way). Had the calamari and the spicy prawns to start. The prawns had a nice kick to it but not too overpowering. The calamari could have had more calamari in it as it was also coupled with couscous but I enjoyed the flavor. Then we ordered the Manila Clam and calamari pizza. Was a good size and the dough was great. We ended with an affogato and it was to die for! They have a fire pit outside but only one and it's right by the water so in case it gets crowded around the pit, be sure to bring a jacket if visiting in the evening. The setting is absolutely beautiful, but the workers are terrible here. It's not worth the hour wait to be treated poorly. We had a pizza that was burnt. The manager says it's not burnt, flips our pizza over to show us, gives us another pizza and charges us for two. The waiter apologized and fix the error. I think the workers are just burnt out and don't care anymore. I wouldn't return. read more

Amazing location and food is good. Service is lacking. Ordered a vodka tonic...around 15 pre tip...and was not told it is 1/2 proof...they don't have a full liquor license. No issue with that but at least tell me. The waiter hardly acknowledged it an blamed it on the bartender. read more

Loved the ambiance of this place so much! We ate inside because it was a little chilly but we still had a great view of the twinkle lights and boats on the water. The sun was setting as we ate dinner and it was perfect. Food wise, GET THE GARLIC BREAD WITH BURRATA. TO. DIE. FOR. can't stress this enough! We also got the calamari which was delicious! I got the lasagna and mom got the pizza. We both loved our dishes! The lasagna comes with a meat sauce cheese and zucchini. It's very filling and delicious! Came after a beach day. Like many reviews before said, the location was beautiful and the food was decent but the service was not IT. It was pretty disappointing because it was a birthday dinner but the hostess and the waiter didn't seem to be in a good mood which kind of ruined the ambiance. Oh, I love bar bocce! Sitting outside on the back patio looking at the sailboats is the perfect scene to eat some good pizza and have some yummy drinks. In particular, I really enjoy the frozen rosé drink that they offer. Highly recommend coming with friends or family for a lovely lunch or dinner. There might be a wait, but they are pretty fast at getting people seated and it's totally worth waiting for. read more

This is right on the bay in Sausalito and presents a beautiful relaxed environment perfect for a lunch or dinner with friends. We had a delicious pizza and Caesar salad that hit the spot. The crust on the pizza was worthy of a return trip if no other toppings were on included-it's that good. I highly recommend a bike ride over the bridge culminating in a lunch experience at BB. Food was mediocre at best, and I had better pizzas at Mtn. Mike's. Staff crames 4 of us in a two-person table while other party of four had the bigger tables and yes, there were tables avilabe. Gentlemen with salt and pepper hair and sar sunglasses was unpleasant, and the whole wait staff followed his lead. Never once came to ask if we needed anything, did not clear our plates, and only asked if we wanted anything else after he gave me the bill. You get better service at In and Out! Terrible, rude service. While I was in the middle of ordering, I turned the menu to look at the drinks but assuming I was finished, the waiter snatched the menu from my hand and moved to take the next order. I tried explaining I was not finished ordering and the waiter began to argue with me, refusing to give the menu back. The rest of my table and I sat dumbfounded as the waiter said "I know" and continued to argue for another minute before finally giving the menu back. He then carried on with an attitude when taking the rest of my tables order. Disgusting behavior and they also messed up our order when bringing the food. Ruined our lunch. read more

We went to Bar Bocce today while in Sausalito. We had the margarita pizza and Caesar salad. The margarita pizza had a really good sweet sauce. I really enjoyed the pizza. The Caesar salad was unique it was a lighter dressing with Parmesan crisps. The service was quick and the server was friendly as well. I had the lasagna and it was bland to me. The pesto chicken and margarita pizza was good I was told but the crust was soggy. The slider and the salad were also good. But we all have had better. The fireplace section near the water was really cute place for date night or a peaceful setting. The hot chocolate came out kinda cold. It was fixed but unexpected for hot chocolate to be lukewarm. Honestly, I cannot complain. I was expecting some sort of poor service based on some reviews and how busy it was on a late Saturday afternoon. However, no big deal, we got seated inside, luck was on our side and we had zero wait. Our host was quite excellent and attentive. It's bustling for a typical weekend out but we got our food within 15 minutes. $8.5- Soup off the day (Butternut Squash) - Actually delightful. I usually am not a fan since this type of soup can be pretty one dimensional. However, my mother was feeling cold and needed some soup to warm up. This absolutely did the trick. It makes me feel like it's autumn again. It was sprinkled with roasted Brussels Sprouts and that in itself, gave the soup its character. $7.5- Marinated Olives - See here, I love olives. And I would go for a dirty martini anytime. I believe we were served mainly Castelvetrano olives (green ones with pit) which has a mild olive taste and within the portion we received, it's a plentiful snack among 3 people. My beau does not care for olives and so my mother & I shared them and could not finish the rest. $19.75- Prosciutto Pizza. My beau is a pizza guy and he gobbled this down. I am not really into pizzas myself but I thoroughly enjoyed the slices I stole from him. The Gorgonzola cheese was not as aromatic or gamey as this cheese can usually come off. I actually thought it was ricotta for a second because of how soft and sweet it was. Overall, really good pizza. We love a sourdough pizza crust too. Gives it that nice mouthful and airy chewiness when you bite into the crust. $12- Blackberry Spritzer. It was actually way too sweet for my liking. I didn't think it would be that sweet but lesson learned. It's not my cup of spritzer. Next time I would go with an Aperol or their version of it. We would definitely come back again next time we visit Sausalito:) read more

This place is literally named bar bocce, and yet when we got there bocce is not available at all here. Apparently it's only for big parties? Just an odd experience. We ordered the tiger prawns, they were fine, not fresh with a mild frozen taste. Guess I just sort of expect fresh seafood when we're on the water. We also ordered the calamari and Disclaimer: the calamari is not fried, but our mistake. The service is amazing, the view is great and they have good cocktail choices. Came for some za and some much needed hairs of the dog. Za provided, but hairs were sparse (this docked singular star). The cocktails were made with 1/2 proof liquor only which frustrated some members of the party. For those looking to surpass a light buzz, Would go for a wine or spritz. Beware! The items on the menu don't get served with the ingredients listed. I was kind enough to send out an email to management/owner addressing my experience while eating lunch here with a group, as one of us was allergic to items on a main salad. I never received an email back, I was polite and informative. I followed up with a call a week later, spoke to the manager, ask if the email I had was correct. I explained my experience, he rudely followed up with " you should have told your service you had an allergy" "we don't have enough room on the menu to list all items. Oook I guest other restaurant do it better. For the lack of concern, I am writing this to warn anyone with a food allergy. You can clearly see they don't respond nor care about people by the lack of communication on this yelp page. Do better read more

Decently priced food for such a great location. We got the garlic bread and pork sausage pizza - both which were great! No reservations so be sure to arrive early to get a good spot. Half of the outdoor seating is well heated and semi covered and the other half is by the water. Shout out the Yelp Waitlist for saving us precious time on a Valentine's Day afternoon! We were quoted a 25-40 minute wait, and it was spot on. They are known for their pizzas, and that was definitely the star of show. We ordered the pork sausage pizza, I really enjoyed it. I normally don't prefer tomato sauce pizzas, but there's is light and not too thick. Gotta love a delicious sourdough crust with great flop and flavor to the slices, and it was devoured. If you come here, you gotta order one of their pizzas. For the apps, we also ordered the salt cod fritters and spicy tiger prawns, and they both were alright. I love tiger prawns, but there wasn't any distinct or memorable flavors even with the sauce, which also was lacking in spice. The fritters, I couldn't taste the cod, but it was deep fried and topped with an aioli, so it's not like they went to waste. For me, sticking with the pizza is the way to go. For drinks I decided to go with the Irish coffee Joe, (which doesn't have whiskey, only Irish cream). I should've read the menu first because it wasn't until we tried to order shots, we learned that they don't have a full bar lol. Beer and wine is the way to go next time. The views and tables outside make for an awesome outdoor dining experience. From the looks, the main bocce ball area is closed to accommodate outdoor dining. It's located right next to the ferry entrance, so if you are traveling from different parts of the bay, it drops you off right in front. Great atmosphere, nice views, delicious food and dog friendly! We were looking for a place to eat and enjoy some sunlight and this place did not disappoint. We started off with some mocktails which were refreshing and some garlic bread for an appetizer. The pizzas were good, in terms of portions they are meant to be personal, but we both felt full about half way through and ended up with leftovers. Once we got to the restaurant we found parking pretty fast but we could tell it can get quite full so it might be something worth considering if you are planning a trip. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes to be seated, which we didn't even notice because theres quite a few things to do in the area, so the wait wasn't a deal breaker for us. The service was friendly and pretty fast. We took both of our dogs and had no issues, the only rule is that dogs be leashed which is totally reasonable. Beautiful view and good pizzas. On my last visit my friend ordered a good chicken kale salad and I ordered the fennel, artichoke and avocado salad as recommended by our server. I'd give the fennel salad 1 star as it only contained fennel. I asked the server about why there was no avocado but forgot to mention there was no artichoke. He brought out a few thin slices of avocado. If you do not have 2/3rd of the salad ingredients available please let the customer know to order something else! read more

We are so lucky to have gotten waterfront seating during lunch time. Our waitress sat us quick and got our cocktails started. I was hoping for some crispy calamari but the one on the menu is actually grilled with couscous. Definitely a usuals take on squid and I'd recommend it. Other items we tried were the wild mushroom crostini. A creamy bite with umami mushrooms. Just wished the bread was toasted. We ate it as soon as it came and it just felt like plain old slice of bread. The pizzas were fantastic though. Butternut squash and Brussels sprouts pair so well and we were in the fall mood. Prosciutto with the Gorgonzola is a great combo as well. Went for a Sunday lunch, had the place to ourselves at 11 am. The food was average, service was good throughout, but had a bitter encounter with the server at the end which ruined the experience and my day. I tipped 10% of the bill in addition to the 3% living wage surcharge. The server sees this and points to the suggested tip on the bottom of the bill (18% and above ) as a reflection of his service. I declined. A customer should be allowed to tip whatever amount they are comfortable with at their discretion. Please do not impose yourself on the customer. read more

OVERALL: I had high hopes for Bar Boccee but it just didn't deliver. All of the food was just okay and the service was poor. The pizza and ambiance are what get the two stars. FOOD: Nothing to write home about, although a few things were memorable. The spicy prawns were the best appetizer, the butternut squash pizza was the best thing we ordered overall, and I like that they serve their hot tea in little tea pots. Some things that were a definite pass are the garlic bread with burrata, the shrimp po' boy, and their desserts. SPACE: They are located right on the water, which is a really nice ambiance. They have a fire pit and bocce ball court. Right now all tables are outside due to COVID. They are a small space, so they may have a wait. You can put your name on their Yelp waitlist, which is a pretty cool feature because it updates in real time. SERVICE: This area needs improvement. I found our server rude and condescending. It seemed like they didn't want us there. When I asked a question to someone at my table about their order, the server butted in with condescending commentary and called me "sweetheart." I'm embarrassed to say that most of the photos of our meal were taken mid-mastication. The fact that everything still photographs as appealing, despite my ineptitude is a testament to its quality. And, honestly, it was all so delicious that I found myself diving in before I could remember to snap a picture! They were hopping this past Sunday and but the wait wasn't too bad, only about twenty minutes for a table for two. In order to provide additional capacity for outdoor dining, we were seated in a cordoned area below the usual patio. It was mostly shaded and even closer to the water. Lunch was spent with front row seats to the pelicans which kept diving into the water. I ordered my favorite Blistered Shishito Peppers that came out delicious as always. Remarkably mild (although there's a rare zinger now and then) the Maldon Salt and lemon juice lend the right amount of seasoning for them to be the perfect starter - light and clean. Their Shaved Artichoke Salad was my friend's favorite and everything about it was fresh. I have a weakness for their pizzas and the sourdough crust was as delicious as always. The Pork Sausage is flavorful and slightly sweet when combined with the red onions and scallions. And then, of course, I never skip dessert! It's been so long since I've had an Affogato, but it was delish. I appreciated the Heath Bar Crunch, although the chocolate might have been a little overpowering, but wait... what am I taking about? Is it possible to have too much chocolate?! Altogether, still one of my favorite spots! read more

Group of 10 of us arrived on Jan 1st, around 5:30pm. Waiter and hostess were kind enough to put 3 tables together. Our entire party noticed the manager/man in charge started treating this employee as well as the hostess terribly. We felt really bad as the employee was so helpful and kind with us. We approached the manager and he was very short with us. Three members from our party actually told him that he cannot treat his employees in this way. We all left and our entire party was appalled at his attitude toward his staff. read more

I also had the fried artichoke appetizer, and the lemony sauce it came with was so good. Our servers were prompt and kind. Solid dinner spot right on the water in Sausalito. We came on a Sunday evening and were seated right away (they don't take reservations). Views at this restaurant are amazing and we had a scenic sunset view of the water as we dined. Note - Parking is a bit tight around here (we were lucky to get a spot) so would suggest also looking at the lots nearby as well. We ordered the Calamari a la Plancha, Kale salad, and 2 pizzas (Mushroom & Prosciutto). DEFINITELY recommend the Calamari a la Plancha and Mushroom pizza. The calamari had a great spicy kick and Mushroom pizza just melted in your mouth. Would pass on the Kale salad - Nothing wrong with it but felt a little basic and lacked a ton of interesting flavors.
