Got our usual takeout today (corn chicken dumplings) with hot and sour soup. My 11 year old spit out a piece of hard sharp plastic that was in one of the dumplings! I thought maybe it was an uncooked cornel, but it's broken plastic!! He could've swallowed this!! This is seriously a liability!! I called the store and they said it probably could've been a piece of utensil used to mix the filling.
So good! Our party of three got two orders of the beef noodle soup and one order of the dumplings which was perfect. Food only takes about seven minutes so perfect for a quick bite. The restaurant is fun with music and history about the place. I would definitely come back!!
Came to Bafang Dumpling one weekday night and they were pretty busy. At first there were no seats, so we ordered to go, but then a table opened up so we ended up staying to eat there anyway. We waited about 20 minutes for the food which felt a little long, but not terrible considering how packed it was. They are more of a togo kind of place The potstickers were my favorite. The thin size and the texture make them so fun to eat, and they had a really nice crisp on the bottom. I could honestly just eat those on their own and be happy. I got the special Lunar New Year set which came with their signature dumplings in beef noodle soup. The broth was really good, rich and comforting, but I actually preferred the potstickers over the dumplings in the soup. Still tasty, just not my personal favorite style. We also got their signature noodles which had a nice kick to it and really good chewy noodles. Super satisfying if you like a bit of spice.
For being a dumpling place, there wasn't anything special about these. Got the signature dumplings and signature potstickers, and both were on the blander side. Definitely reminded me of frozen section dumplings and potstickers. Sauces were also underwhelming. Didn't eat in, so can't speak to service or ambiance, but I won't be back.
Bafang Dumpling is a well known franchise started in Taiwan, now with several locations in the US. Located in the same strip mall with 99 Ranch Market at Jeffrey and Walnut near Fwy 5, this is a convenient location for people in Orange County. While I'm here for pot stickers today, but their braised beef noodle is equally famous. I'm also interested to try the new item on the list: pork chop with braised pork rice. I arrived 2:30 to avoid the lunch crowd. They have several tables of guests but no long line. The young man taking orders was courteous and efficient. The hardest part was waiting for my order as they are made to order. I'm glad I have a Bafang nearby.
This is our go to Taiwanese restaurant on busy nights. They recently added pork chop rice to the menu and it's only $10 and it's delicious, authentic, and homey. Their pork chop, in my opinion, is the best tasting in California, reminiscent of the Pork Chops King in Taiwan that I really missed but have retired. They are not the same but closest to my ideal favorite that I can find in California. I love their spicy noodles and perfectly fried dumplings as well. I love their sauce of the spicy noodles. It has a very unique taste that's different than the spicy Chinese noodles at other stores. Their place is always kept pretty clean. The people there are usually pretty friendly. I've visited a few BaFang's in Taiwan as it's a popular chain in Taiwan. I like the owners spin on their version of BaFang for US.
Bafang Dumpling was delicious!!! We got the gyoza and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup which both were so tasty and flavorful. I personally LOVED the noodle soup. The service was great and the food was prepared quickly. Definitely recommend Bafang dumpling for a quick bite!
There are plenty of parking spaces, but if you want to park in front of the restaurant, it may be limited. Inside the store, has limited seating as well, but it doesn't get packed where it's hard to find a spot. I ordered the Number 2: 12 Signature Potstickers with Wonton Soup. They have a small station where you can get vinegar and soy sauce. The potstickers were crispy and delicious. The Wonton Soup was also good, with the wontons and surprisingly in a decently sized bowl. I thought it was a smaller portion, but it wasn't. It was a good meal! Update to my earlier reviews of this place. Many of you probably have never been to Taiwan in the summer. I have many times, and I do not miss the heat. What I do miss is my go to staple: pork chop and rice. Yes, the working man's meal for millions of Taiwanese workers. They are stuffed into little metal lunch boxes with a fancy chip on the end to keep the food fresh. The working man's lunch is a pork chop, rice, meat sauce, tofu, pickles, and a veggie. Oh, if you have lived in Taiwan, this is making complete sense to you. Guess what? I have good news! Bafang has now created this meal and is selling it for just $10.00 It is as authentic as it gets. The line should be out the door for this. Thank you for restoring a memory in my life.
I didn't get a chance to take the rest of the photos but here's the full experience. The food overall was decent, though the fried chicken didn't taste good at all... it seemed like a tired, over‑fried item and definitely not something I'd order again. The rest of the dishes were better, but the service felt lacking -- no greeting, no smile, and not much engagement . Maybe it was just an off day or simply their style of service, but it didn't leave the best impression.
tried bafang and it was pretty yummy! I liked the old fashioned noodles the most bc it was chewy and simple~ not too crazy on flavor but it was comforting in a way. potstickers were good! tastes like home cooking. pork chop Lu rou fan was also pretty delish. would come back again bc its cheap and cozy and tasty :D it's mainly self service bc you order first at the front and then pick it up when its ready. you also get your own sauce and drinks on the side. and at the end, u have to put your own trays, dishes, and trash away
I heard of Bafang Dumpling for a while now but when I went myself I was really surprised to see how they're basically a casual fastfood concept of a dumpling restaurant that originatd in Taiwan. I cross-checked with my Taiwanese friend and they mentioned how this cheap eats in Taiwan is a big rip off by compare over in the states. Not that it's expensive but it's low quality and not that cheap. I ordered the Combo #3 ($14.95) that came with 6 Signature Potstickers and 6 Signature Dumplings and my choice of a soda or soup. I opted for the hot and soup soup. They give you a pager that goes off when your food is ready. There was limited seating and it was really cramped. Self serve on sauces and utensils. I didn't see staff cleaning my whole time there. When I got my food I initially excited to try it... but biting into it was disappointing. Both fillings were more cabbage than meat. Super blandddd. The hot and sour soup was on the chunky side, which I like in texture, but I did not like in taste. I am definitely not coming bad. Doesn't look like I was missing out on anything.
You know, if the fast food chains that we have around here were more like the fast food chains in Asia, I imagine that the typically negative reputation that so many of them have would be rosier. I know that might sound hyperbolic, but much less so when you consider folks in Taiwan get to enjoy having the likes of Bafang Dumplings so readily available! Funny enough, even though my gf was already familiar and a fan of Bafang from her previous visits to Taiwan, what actually brought us here was the fact that they were one of the only places in the area that was still open for us to grab a late dinner when we got into town. That being said, despite our circumstances being the main reason why we came here, I certainly would've been curious to check out a "fast food noodles and dumpling chain". Of course, it didn't hurt that the menu didn't look too shabby. Although it may not be ridiculously extensive, it has all of the important things - beef noodle soup, sesame noodles, dumplings, potstickers, and more! -- SIGNATURE POTSTICKERS with Pork and Napa Cabbage Filling These were terrific! Each piece was pretty sizable and had a perfectly golden brown crust on the bottom. Also, I really liked how juicy and delicious the fillings were. -- BEEF NOODLE SOUP I was cautiously optimistic for this one and it didn't disappoint! The noodles were cooked well and I thought the beef was really juicy. I do wish the broth had a bit more body/richness to it, but it was still rather beefy and quite flavorful. -- OLD FASHIONED NOODLES Ehh...this was fine. The noodles had a decent bite to them with a subtle sesame flavor. Personally, I thought the taste was too subtle, but it was a plus that it did help offset the soy and chili oil when I would dip the potstickers into them. -- BAFANG PORK CHOP Not bad, but a little uneven for me. On the plus side, the texture of the batter was far more soggy than crispy. On the other, the pork was surprisingly moist and the seasoning and overall flavor was great. -- BAFANG SIGNATURE DUMPLINGS with Pork and Napa Cabbage Filling Just as classic as it is good. The dumplings were pretty plump and the filling had a good ratio of pork to cabbage. However, the best thing about these were the skin - just the right thickness and they weren't the least big soggy or overcooked. -- CORN & CHICKEN DUMPLINGS Not as good as their Signature Dumplings, though, to be fair, I'm not as big of a fan of corn & chicken dumplings. While the skins were still fine, the filling wasn't as impressive - somewhat bland with a stronger taste of corn than chicken. Compared to what you can get from one of the many Taiwanese restaurants around, Bafang's noodles and dumplings do have a bit of a "previously frozen/mass produced" feel to them. However, the food here is still pretty solid for what it is and undeniably convenient for a quick meal, whether you're looking to dine in or grabbing your food to-go. This may not be the first place I'd look to hit up again when I'm back in town, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to coming back for more. Can't wait until they open in the Bay Area so I can try their frozen dumplings at home as well!

Fast food dumpling place. Small dining area. The big, comfortable tables are for invalids only, while the rest are awkwardly arranged around the toilet entrance. It's just strange to eat directly in front of a restroom--very odd seating concept. This is definitely a fast-food joint. The cashier is friendly but has zero clue about the menu. Don't even bother asking -- they'll just tell you they "don't know, they just work here." Also forgetful -- you'll get asked to repeat your order at least twice. The food box showed up dirty. Off to a strong start. The Taiwan beef noodle broth was way too sweet, the noodles undercooked, and the beef and daikon came in giant blocks like they didn't have time to chop them. The daikon chunks were literally the size of my fist. The dumplings and potstickers were a disaster -- mostly raw cabbage with a bit of minced pork tendon thrown in for decoration. Every bite was fibrous, bland, and oddly firm. Same filling in both dumplings and potstickers -- just different shapes, same disappointment. Half the potstickers' skins were broken, and the sauce dispenser barely worked. You press like crazy, and almost nothing comes out. Ten minutes later -- fast food in, fast food out. No wonder the toilet's dirty. Those raw cabbage dumplings probably bombed it. read more

A solid dumpling chain from Taiwan. You can dine in or take out, or even buy their frozen dumplings. The menu is straight forward enough and there are several combo options. We came on a Saturday for lunch at the beginning of October, and the place was busy. But the line moved quickly and the cashier was very patient with everyone. We got 2 combos- combo 8 (pork chops, dry noodles and a drink, $15.50) and combo 7 (dry noodles and mini wonton soup, $12.75). We e also got some potstickers and a box of mixed appetizers. Be sure to get the sauces from the dispensers, the garlic soy sauce is the bomb! Bafang is great for a quick simple meal or take out. Price is fair and on point. Service is quick. The building is new so it's clean. Parking can be a bit challenging depending on the time of day/week. I'm definitely adding this place to my take out rotations. read more
I am so surprised how good this is. The packaging is just perfect, no leaking nor sipping of the oil etc. The smell of the food is very similar to what you get in Taiwan. First trying the vegi dumplings (bit more expensive than meat ones), and it not bad at all. Potstickers are looks and tastes the same. Wonton soup is so good. Service is American standard, very perceptional, and did not ask for tip when you use your credit card. read more

Came here to check out what's everyone raving about and yes, this place was great! I tried the boiled dumplings and since I was still hungry I grabbed what's available on the fridge counter. It's a delicacy trio: tofu, seaweed, and mushrooms. Service was more like you clean-up after yourself type of thing. No servers, only 1 cashier at the counter. Bathroom however could use some attention. When I was there, one of the bathrooms smelled so bad. Overall, it was a good experience and I don't mind coming back. read more
This is a more casual spot that I'd want to revisit because I feel like their menu items could be better than what I tried the time I went. The signature noodles were a great price but kind of just noodles with some sesame sauce. The dumplings and wontons were good though! Been wanting to try this new spot for dumplings. We went after a late night meeting and the place had a few customers dining in and no wait to order. We were greeted nicely by a staff member and she answered our questions politely. We ordered Combo 2 which came with Signature Dumplings (12pcs) and Wonton soup. We opted to take it home as it was almost closing time. We got home and took out our order but they were missing utensils/napkins and sauce. -1 star for that. I think that should be part of the good service, complete utensils/condiments for take out meals. The dumplings were flavorful, balance of cabbage and pork with a crispy side. We had to use some of our ponzu sauce we had at home for our sauce since they forgot to give us some. Wonton soup had a really delicious smooth, clean broth with a good amount of flavorful pork wontons. We loved it! Would love to try out the other menu items when we come back. read more
Every time I eat Bafang I am very pleased. Both the steamed dumplings and the pan fried ones are delicious. The veggie ones are filled enough and are filling and savory. The chili noodles also have a wonderful QQ texture, taste like hand pulled noodles and leave you satisfied. Food comes out fast and it's a simple ordering process, like fast food but Taiwanese. read more
Really enjoyed this casual spot for dumplings! You can choose from a variety of sets or get frozen dumplings to take home. I got the set with potstickers and hot and sour soup -- both of which were good. The potstickers were light and crispy, so even though the portion looks large, it's light enough that you can finish the whole meal. Lots of seating, a sauce bar you can help yourself to, and decent parking. read more
Bafang Dumpling offers fast, convenient and authentic Taiwanese classics (noodle, dumplings and rice bowl). They tasted delicious in a clean, airy fast food environment. The staff were friendly and food came out after they're made to order. Come early or later as parking here can be very challenging. Highly recommended! read more

Bafang recently opened up in Irvine and it's definitely a very convenient spot to grab a quick bite. It was pretty busy when I went on a Monday just before 1p. The food took about 15 minutes to be ready after ordering but I also ordered a lot of food for takeout - other groups got their food much faster. Parking in front was completely full but there's always parking available in the plaza if you're willing to walk. For the food itself, we tried Combo 4 (noodles plus potstickers), a 12pc signature dumplings, a 12pc chicken corn dumplings, a 12pc signature potsticker and a spicy wontons order. Overall the food was solid - I preferred the dumplings to the potstickers, wontons and noodles. Between the chicken corn and signature dumplings, I thought the corn added a nice slight sweetness to the dumpling but still preferred the signature. read more
Had to visit this newly opened Bafang in Irvine in the corner of Walnut and Jeffrey (99 Ranch plaza). Been to a few others and this one is similar in terms of food offerings and ambience. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, as well as the signature dumpling with a side of hot and sour soup. The skins on the dumplings were light and crunchy, with moderate amount of pork packed inside. The spicy beef noodle soup definitely warms the belly on a cold night, with chunks of beef and plenty of noodles. Service was quick and friendly. Took about 5 or so minutes to wait for my to-go order. There's a designated (somewhat small) lot but plenty of parking around the area. read more

Bafang Dumpling is a well-known Taiwanese chain, and it does not disappoint. Located in crowded plaza, hard to find parking. Ambience (8/10): Self Serve, clean, limited seating inside. Like many have mentioned, they have a self-serve sauce bar, which is convenient. Food Signature Potstickers (8/10): The potstickers are crunchy and has good flavor. It is definitely decent but does not stand out. Beef Noodle (8/10): If you love tawainese noodle but can not handle the spice, Bafang is a good place to try out. They offer two options, one is regular beef noodle (non spicy) and the other one is mala beef noodle. I personally like the non spicy one better as the mala beef noodle, as it is a bit different than the flavor profile that I am used to. Generous portions, good amount of beef chunks. Price (9/10): Decent price for the portion This place is decent and I can see myself coming back here for a quick Tawainese fix. read more
This place is pretty new to the plaza and so I finally gave it try while I was waiting for my car to charge. I got the #4 combo, the signature potstickers and noodles. First off for just over $13 with tax I thought it was a great value. I really liked the potstickers. It had a nice fried crunch on one side. The noodles were decent but lacking a bit in flavor. This was where their self service sauces come in. I highly recommend mixing some their garlic soy sauce and spicy sauce into the noodles, it really changes everything especially if you like spicy food. I will definitely comeback again for the same meal. read more

Came a week after it opened to pick up dinner. They have a very straightforward menu, and they obviously specialize in dumplings. I ordered: - Chicken and corn potstickers: not enough meat. Dinky pieces for the price. - Spicy beef noodle soup: again, not enough meat. Broth was OK, I prefer Yummy Noodle or Noodle St's broth. Not the best dumplings and noodle soup I've had, especially at that price point. I would suggest even going to A&J in the plaza across the street if you truly want dumplings or noodle soup. Unfortunately they are part of the plaza with Menya and HeyTea, so yes the parking is terrible. You need to have a ton of patience if you want to park and eat. read more
Paid our visit to Bafang for their grand opening week. Service was organized even with the large crowd we got our food relatively quickly. You order at the counter and seat yourself at the open seating. The food was just OK for the price. Beef in the noodle soup was tender but the soup lacked flavor overall. Hot and sour soup was definitely a miss, would not recommend. Fried dumplings were somewhere between crispy and soggy. The new restaurant has its own section for parking - though I'm sure other patrons of the plaza will park there since it's been extremely busy. read more

Bafang is so 大方 (Da Fang) not only when it comes to the quality of the food, but also quantity in the combo deals! Love how they have a variety of options for the potstickers, noodles, soups, and side dishes! Bonus points if you get the Mandarin Pun there ;) I was here during soft opening and while I am sure there may be a few things here and there to improve, operations seem to be fully running there, and I believe even the Bafang owners were getting hands-on in the front end of the store to help clean, serve, and connect with the customers! Who doesn't love a boss that cares? Food came out fairly quickly and everything was tasty. Pork chop was perfectly crispy with good flavors, noodles nice and chewy with just a slight kick in flavors, potstickers with tasty skin and crispy edges, and a corn chowder that was light yet comforting. It isn't a huge spot but seems like most people do buy to-go or have fast service (and this quick turnover) so hopefully wait won't be too crazy. Overall, friendly service in a bustling atmosphere will guarantee to satisfy your taste buds! read more
nice spot, very casual and bustling sort of vibe, which is nice. im a huge sucker for hot & sour. the beef dry noodles i got were alright, but a bit pricey ($16.5 for the combo). and the beef wasnt my absolute favorite, but the noodles were nice and the sauce(?) was light, sweet, and savory. read more
Bafang Dumpling just opened in a brand-new building that, funny enough, looked like it was going to be a Starbucks before it opened. It's situated right next to 99 ranch, HeyTea, and a newly opened Wingstop. Parking here is a bit tricky--be prepared to park closer to the Chase Bank. When we arrived, the place was bustling, but despite the crowd, the food came out *blazing* fast! We ordered the Bafang Pork Chop, Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, a half-dozen dumplings, and a side of spicy dumplings. We got it to-go and their containers were super high quality. The pork chop was quite good, served with some refreshing cucumber and a generous portion of radish. The beef noodle soup was fantastic--the broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles cooked just right, and the beef was tender and delicious. The spicy dumplings, though they didn't look overly packed with chili, had just the right kick. And the dumplings overall? Crispy, juicy, and simply delicious! We didn't notice any rice on the menu, which was a bit surprising, but maybe we missed it. Bafang Dumpling has several locations around Southern California, and after this great experience, we'll definitely be back. Excellent service and food--highly recommend! read more

We went on a Wednesday night at around 8:15pm and there was still a pretty decent crowd in the restaurant. We didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes to order, but there was a line after we were finished ordering and almost all of the tables were already full. You order at the counter and then are given a buzzer that gets taken to the pickup counter when the food is ready. It's self seating and there are limited tables available. There are some tables for smaller parties and also one long table that has about 10 seats. We sat at the long community table with a couple of other parties that were dining in. The food was decent for the price. The beef noodle soup was on the more mild side for flavor, but they gave a good amount of meat and the noodles had a perfect chewy texture. The pork chop ended up being on the oily side and that was the majority of what you taste while eating it. The old fashioned noodle had good flavor and I really enjoyed the quality of the noodles. The Bafang signature potstickers were crisp on the bottom and the vegetables inside added another layer of crunch to each bite. The food is priced very well for US standards and they give fairly large portions for the noodle dishes. read more
I made the mistake of coming to Bafang Dumpling during lunchtime of their soft open. I had placed an order online and arrived to find they messed up something with my order so it would take a few more minutes. At least they offered a free drink. While we were waiting, my daughter noticed that my bag was gone from the counter. Sure enough, somebody else had been given my order. So then we had to wait while my order was remade. After 15 minutes. I finally got my order and nobody apologized for the wait. Now to the food. I normally prefer potstickers to boiled dumplings, so I was surprised to find that my favorite were the kimchi pork dumplings. They were nice and fat and flavorful. By comparison, their signature pork potstickers were kind of bland, with a lot of vegetable in the filling. They really needed to be dunked into the vinegar to give it flavor. The old fashioned noodles were ok, nothing special, and the spicy mala noodles were not as spicy as I expected. The worst was the fried pork chop. It was cut into four pieces. I took a bite of one and found that it was mostly fat. I tried searching for meat in that piece but it was a fruitless search. I know it was soft open, so employees haven't had time to be trained how to manage messed up orders. Due to some glitch in their online ordering system, my order came through as dumplings and potstickers, no filling and no skin. No wonder the kitchen messed up my order (although I'm kind of curious what they made)! It would have been nice for them to apologize for the extra wait as they remade the food that they gave to someone else, at the very least. An even better move would have been to toss something in for free for the inconvenience. I don't know if I will bother to come back. read more
Came on a Sunday night. This plaza's parking is pretty terrible during peak hours, so plan ahead. When given the option, definitely order ahead! I believe they disable it certain times so they can keep up with orders. Menu is pretty simple, but that is what makes it easy to order from. Service was great. Everything is new and clean. Limited seating, but there are people constantly coming and going. We ordered take-out. There is lots of utensils and sauces on the side to pick up. I would definitely recommend eating at the restaurant or even in your car (if you can't find a seat) to ensure maximum eating experience. What we ordered: - Combo 1 (Potstickers and corn chowder): Like I mentioned, we did take-out so when we got home the potstickers were unfortunately a bit softer and not as crispy as we wanted. But the flavors were definitely there and it paired well with the garlic soy sauce. Corn chowder was a comforting soup and flavored. - Combo 8 (Old fashioned noodle and pork chop): I quite liked the noodles. Something so simple, but so great about it. The noodles were chewy and the sauce that was on it very good. Again, since it was take out the noodles kind of clumped together, so eat it fresh! I did not care much for the pork chop as it was a bit too sweet for my liking. - Spicy Wonton: This was also good, not as spicy as I originally thought. This made me sooooo happy that they brought Bafang to Irvine! I used to rave to my mom about how much I loved the original Bafang down the street from my grandma's place in Taipei. I wish they had the some more variety of dumplings but I'll take the small wins. To be honest, I'd recommend buying the frozen dumplings and cooking them at home because they taste exactly the same as getting it in the restaurant...and boiling dumplings is suuuuper easy. I went hard and bought 100 dumplings for $46 hehe. With that said, we also got signature potstickers and signature noodles which is basically like dan dan mein. Noodles had great flavor and cooked nicely with a good chew. Potstickers were also tasty. We paid $26 after tax for 6 potstickers, 6 signature dumplings, 6 kimchi dumplings, and signature noodles which was good for 2 people for dinner. Satisfied with the price! At the restaurant, you order at the counter and pray for an open table to snag. Try to not come during rush hour or you'll end up awkwardly standing around eyeing people down in the hopes that they hurry up and finish their food so you can take their table because there's not a ton of seating. read more
Bafang Dumpling is now open in Irvine! This location is in a pretty busy plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. This spot can get packed with only about 6-8 tables inside so keep that in mind if you are planning to dine in. They have a good selection on their menu of different dumplings, potstickers, soups, and noodles. Wifey and I opted to get the Corn & Chicken Dumplings, Bafang Signature Dumplings, Signature Noodles, and the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup. Everything we had was hearty, comforting, and delicious! Overall, this spot is definitely serving up some quality food! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. If you like the dumplings, they even sell frozen bags of them too! read more
Loved Bafang Dumpling! I can't eat red meat but I dropped by here with my friends so I got the Bafang noodles and chicken and corn dumplings. The server was very helpful and patient when I asking about different menu items bc of my dietary restrictions. Our food came out relatively fast (5-10 min) and there was plenty of seating inside. Overall I highly recommend this spot for dumplings and noodles and I'd love to come back to try the different options even though they're limited for me personally. Inside: Super cute and modern. There are several different sized tables but no outside seating which was a little disappointing because it's gets busy inside and there seems to be open space next to the restaurant. Btw, this is also a take your tray type of eatery and you must place your dirty trays away. Small tables so be careful with your trays/food spread. Staff: Incredibly nice staff; we're very helpful with my order and I witnessed a customer drop his soup in the middle of the restaurant and they were very kind to him and assured it wasn't a big deal and they cleaned it immediately. 10/10 workers. Food: The Taiwanese Beef noddle soup combo came with a drink and a soup; we chose the corn chowder. The corn chowder was steaming hot and had a creamy consistency with a noticeable corn flavor; very homey and tasty. I wish the soup had more spice and beef flavor in my opinion; but there are sauce options you can add yourself and considering the price and tasty toppings (beef and radish) I can't complain too much. The potstickers were great for the price and really good for sharing as we got the 12 pieces and still had lots of leftovers. However the best dish which I recommend is the fried chicken. Super soft dark meat with a crispy outside and comes on a bed of cabbage with cilantro on top. Make your own sauces and enjoy. read more
I've been seeing lines out the door for this place in the 99 Ranch plaza off Walnut/Jeffrey, but thought it was a sit down type restaurant. It's actually more of an order for take-out kind of restaurant though they do have tables you can sit at and eat too. It's fast casual. You line up, and order at the counter. They'll call your name when ready, and you seat yourself at any open table. We ordered their signature potstickers (made with pork and cabbage), signature dumplings, and fried porkchop to go. Everything was yummy! You can order their dumplings frozen too and take it home to cook. Don't be intimidated by the line, it moves super fast. read more
Can't believe Bafang is finally in Irvine! We enjoyed the signature dumplings, spicy wontons, corn soup, hot & sour soup, and the old fashioned noodles. The spicy wontons flavor was a little flat though compared to the other Bafang locations. I don't think it was spicy and salty enough, but other than that, the food was great. We went on grand opening weekend and it was super busy so we decided to do take out to eat at home. Just a note - The parking lot is TERRIBLE. Came on grand opening weekend. There was a line around the restaurant at opening for this famous dumpling spot that originated from Taiwan that finally opened in Irvine. The restaurant is modern and aesthetically pleasing, although it's not a big space and there are only a few table available for dine in. You get a buzzer for your order and the food usually comes out pretty quick. Parking isn't a problem as it's a big parking lot in a plaza that's shared with 99 Ranch. Food was absolutely impressive. They're known for potstickers and dumplings, but their noodles were so good! Can't really go wrong with anything here. We tried: Signature Noodles - Dry noodle in sauce with a kick of spice. Topped with green onion. Noodles were well made and tasted great. Signature Potstickers - Not your typical potstickers from Costco! Fried perfectly which a lot of places can't do. They claim is their most popular item and I see why. Spicy Wontons - If you love wontons, must get these. The sauce it's seasoned in is delicious. Beef Noodle Soup - My personal favorite and go to at a Taiwanese restaurant. They also have a Mala flavor which I got to-go after because this one was so good! The beef is well made, noodles were well cooked. Comes in a large bowl that won't leave you hungry after. Service here was exceptional and I think they handled the grand opening very efficiently. The old gentleman who I can tell is the owner or the family of the owner is so warm and kind. Helped us and others find seats in the crowd of customers and cleaned up tables and brought chairs/high chairs for customers. Everyone is very friendly amidst the chaotic busy atmosphere which I think this restaurant will consistently have. Irvine is lucky to have Bafang Dumpling opening in town! read more
