When I was a child living in London my mum would make Singaporean noodles since we couldn't eat pork and most places included pork in this dish. I saw this at Babar and after a long video shoot in the sun I just wanted something comforting and I immediately ordered this. Also you can never come here and not order the chicken wings OMG they are so so good. I love Babar, it's a great restaurant both décor and ambiance wise and the service is the friendliest you could get
Wings were a bit salty but flavorful. I love a good fish sauce wings and they did well. Banh mi dip looked appetizing but super salty overall. The broth was salty and the meat was also more on the saltier side. The idea was there... Saigon Singapore noodles were good. I think it was a balanced meal with shrimp, chicken, egg, crunchy bean sprouts, glass noodles. It does have tumeric so beware of stains. I do wish it had a bit more flavor. The components were there but it wasn't spicy or as savory as it looks. It's missing something but idk. The imperial rolls were refreshing. I like that it comes with lettuce for a little wrap. Good starter to share with others. We got seated outside on a nice day. Plenty of seating inside and out. Service was great, checking in on us. Would recommend if you're really craving viet food and are in the area. Other than that, it could be a little bit on the pricier side for food you can find elsewhere for cheaper. The dishes either lacked flavor or was too salty.
I had a great experience here. I saw some mediocre reviews but I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. I thought the food was really great. very flavorful but do keep in mind it's not going to be a low sodium meal. I tried their lemon grass rockfish and my fiend had shrimp with egg over rice. Both dishes were very tasty but a little carb heavy (not that I would change it)
Ba Bar has started doing brunch! I've previously been here for dinner in the past so this was my first time going for brunch. Went around 1 PM and there was a wait so definitely go on the earlier side. There is a bar area for those of us over 21 and an outdoor seating area as well. I had the delicious pandan French toast. Told myself I wouldn't eat all three pieces, but it was so good. I finished it all! My friend had a shrimp with turmeric rice. I'm only giving a four stars because I feel like there weren't too many veggie options on the menu.
The ambiance was very nice and the staff were helpful when navigating the menu. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. However as a Vietnamese person who understands Vietnamese flavors best, this restaurant is mediocre at best. I would even say that it is a bit westernized? The duck in the duck noodles were a bit overcooked and that is all I could say about the duck noodles. Nothing stood out. The side beef broth (I am assuming this is used for the Pho) was salty and so were the Sai Gon Chicken Wings. I don't mind the sai gon chicken wings being salty though since the base of the sauce seems to be fish sauce. Overall, I think this place was okay. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend this place to anyone else.
Ba Bar offers tasty eats at an affordable price during happy hour. We ordered the fish sauce wings, pork sausage sliders, beef & cabbage salad, and the grilled lam and beef lá lốt. Everything was flavorful. We were a little disappointed that we only got two pieces of the lá lốt, as I'm accustomed to enjoying a plate full when dining at other Vietnamese establishments. The happy hour menu is a good sampling of what Ba Bar has to offer. Happy Hour is only offered during the week - Monday-Friday from 2-5 pm. There is also a $6.00 minimum drink order per person.
Pleasantly surprised with the food here! I sat at the bar and the service was good and fast. The bartender made me feel great about my allergies. The pho-ench dip was 11/10! So much meat and dipped and the pho broth... chefs kiss** Super flavorful and filling! The crispy pork belly was really good too. I loved all the flavor and only wish that there was more pork belly. It's a bit fatty but in the best way. Highly recommend!
Came in on a Sunday for lunch. The decor inside is bright, open, and cute. When you enter there's a little foyer then a reception stand and a coffee spot. There were multiple tvs playing the football game. We asked to sit in the back where it was quieter and no tvs. I ordered the ox tail pho. I really enjoyed the pho and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of ox tail. The pho comes on top of a large plate which holds your garnishes and sauce. Due to that, a lot of the garnishes were wet. Service was pretty good even as the restaurant started to fill up.
Ba Bar always impresses me every time I eat here. Somehow, I have never reviewed it. It doesn't really draw you in, but don't let its lack of curb appeal (it's not ugly, it's just doesn't wow you) keep you away. Service is always helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Food is always excellent (again, even if the menu descriptions don't necessarily wow you). This place is about great food executed well. You won't be disappointed. Go!
Another time I wish there was an option to give 3.5 stars lol. Alright if you're looking to find a viet joint for the purposes of actually eating viet food, you'd be better off going some place else. Ba bar is gunna be your typical, overpriced, viet-American style restaurant.. which makes sense. I mean it's a chain restaurant + in u vil lol. With that said, I mean the food isn't terrible, they got a fun vibe + people come here to socialize over some drinks. I'm just saying in terms of the food itself + $$, you could most def find better, cheaper options nearby.
We stopped in for Sunday brunch and the line was to the door. We were able to get seated when we reached the hostess area. I do think that the staff is pretty overwhelmed with volume and it shows a bit. Our waitress was nice and prompt and our drinks came out really quickly and the food followed. Everything tasted great and we enjoyed it. I never had rice with Turmeric and I loved it paired with the scrambled egg. My partner had the vermicelli noodles which looked yum & we split the wings. He prefers a dry rub wing so he was a bit turned off by how saucy it was. But I love a good sauce on anything. The vibe was high with the Sunday crowd and we were in and out without an issue.
I got the combination plate and everything tasted good. I've been here twice now with friends and it's never a let down. In the summer though there are a lot of wasps nearby so I would caution if you're scared of those to sit inside instead. Their honey wings are really good, and it's a good place to go to catch up with friends. Wasn't mind blowing but standard good food. Service was fine, we didn't have to wait around a lot.
The food here is really good. The Saigon Chicken Wings are crispy and savory with the fish sauce taste. The combo vermicelli has so many options on it: chicken, pork, sausage patty, shrimp, imperial roll, and pickled veggies. It's so good and perfect if you're indecisive because you get to taste a little bit of everything. I also think it is one of their more filling dishes. The garlic noodles are really good too - great garlic flavor with bits of crab. The Bun Bo Hue broth is very hearty with a tiny spice to it. The meat is tender and cooked to perfection. The service is usually pretty quick. From being seated to being served is never a long wait.

Slightly elevated viet food. I've been to a few of their locations and always thought it tasted great. I like that they have a lot of options that are more "traditional" than a standard viet place. Wish they had the banh xeo on their menu still, but you can't go wrong with any item of their menu! Came here on a Tuesday during their happy hour! My husband took me shopping for my birthday and we decided to make a stop for happy hour. They have a pretty decent happy hour food and drink selection. Service is really friendly and the ambiance was really nice. Food: + lemongrass soda - very tasty and refreshing + my husband got the Vietnamese iced coffee + imperial rolls - very tasty and paired well with the lettuce and veggies + pork belly with pineapple - not bad! It wasn't our favorite but it was still good. Some pieces were a little too charred for our liking. + pork sliders - very yummy! + eggplant - a nice veggie dish! + chicken wings - even better if you come on a Tuesday because they have a chicken wing special. I've been to the location at Cap Hill and now I can say I've been to this location too! I went here as part of a group of 6 around 6pm on a Saturday to mostly full seating. The inside has plants strewn between some tables, and is lit like a fancy dine-in restaurant (with the lights and lanterns in the ceiling) but filled with noise like your regular late-night hangout bar or club. Our server was very attentive to us and made sure we always had water when we needed it. For this visit, I got the pandan iced latte and their bun cha Hanoi (Obama noodle) along with some egg rolls as appetizers to share. For each dish: - The egg rolls came out piping hot, and I loved the crispy wrapping. - The pandan iced latte had what looked like a string of pandan put inside the drink. I didn't know if it was edible or not, though when my friend tried it he said it didn't seem like it since it was just bitter like regular plants and their leaves. Otherwise, great Vietnamese coffee with a hint of pandan that I wished was stronger. - The bun cha Hanoi came with pork belly, pork sausage inside a bowl of nuoc cham, lettuce and mint leaves, and some vermicelli noodles. This dish took the longest to come out, and it was much smaller and not as plentiful in everything as I had expected from pictures. The pork belly was great, though the pork sausage inside the nuoc cham wasn't too much to my liking and somewhat lacked flavor. The relatively small portions didn't quite justify the ~$23 price tag here. - I did want to try the passionate pandan cake here as I also had it in the Cap Hill location (and loved it) but was also put off by the $11 price. We visited Ba Bar for a late lunch and brought our dog along, opting for the outdoor patio seating on a lovely sunny day. We were seated right away, and there were a few other dogs outside as well, which made for a nice atmosphere. The restaurant was overall welcoming and server was friendly throughout our visit. We ordered the Garlic Crab Noodle and Bun Bo Hue Soup Noodle. Both dishes were generously portioned, perfect for sharing. The Garlic Crab Noodle was tasty! The Bun Bo Hue was alright--though a bit on the spicy side for my taste. The food arrived super quickly, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a pleasant experience with good food and a dog-friendly environment. read more

Had such a lovely meal at Babar. The lemongrass rockfish was so flavorful and the decor was very nice. It was casual but had a great atmosphere. I look forward to trying other dishes as well but the rockfish was something different so I wanted to try it. read more

I took my sister & niece here for an impromptu snack after a long day. We put our name in & got on the waitlist. It was a Friday around 6:30 when we got seated, about 30 mins after getting on the list. I started shaking from low blood sugar & asked for something to come out fast. The server got some wings out really fast, I was so thankful! This was my nieces first time having Vietnamese, and she loved it! We got two orders of wings, eggplant, two sets of egg roll lettuce wraps & the lemongrass beef. Everything was delicious! We had some drinks too, fabulous! The space was interesting, with signs in Vietnamese & other fun bits of decor. We weren't rushed, even though it was busy, and it was a really great experience. read more
The service was fine and the restaurant looked nice but I just wasn't very impressed with the food. I've been to Ba Bar a couple times now, not just in this location, and I always felt the food was little lacking. It feels like the food loses its ethnic identity here and I even feel like the pho isn't as flavorful or good as it could be if you just went to a Vietnamese restaurant. It's not my go to place or anything and I think Ba Bar is just okay. read more

Our take out order was messed up in multiple ways. We have also seen the quality drop in the Pho contents. If the take out food is going to be lower portions than in the restaurant, the price should reflect it. read more
It smells really good when you first walk in! I wanted to try a lot of things on the menu but this first time only had time for one dish. I ordered the duck confit ramen and the noodles were not cooked my favorite way but the broth and the duck tasted absolutely delicious. I also ordered a ginger beer cocktail that was really refreshing. The service is great. Fast and super kind. I definitely want to come back and try more dishes on the menu. The ambiance and service were fantastic, but the food quality seems to have slipped a bit. The Prawn, Cucumber & Pineapple Salad was incredible--the flavors really stood out and left me wanting more. Unfortunately, the Combination Vermicelli Noodle was a letdown; while I enjoyed the mix of proteins and fresh veggies, the nuoc cham sauce lacked the rich umami depth I expected and tasted mostly sour. For me the sauce is key and ties the dish together but did not hit the spot. Mixed feelings overall, with the salad being the highlight of the meal. read more

A great spot when craving vietnamese food! We ordered the vermicelli bowl and the house special pho. We were able to be seated right away without a wait, but definitely seems like a popular spot in U Village. Food was good but it's not your super authentic joint! The pho broth could have been hotter and less sweet, but other than that, it's what you would expect for a vermicelli bowl and noodle soup. I do like the ambiance, pretty spacious and clean with fun, tasteful decor. I'd come back if I'm ever craving Vietnamese food while shopping in U village. read more

Got recommended this place from the Seattle food list. Stunning inner decor and love the wooden tables. The restaurant was actually thriving with a lot of ppl for lunch and perfect having a bowl of soup on a rainy day. I got the lemongrass soda and was regretting not getting the coffee. Will come back to try the coffee. The oxtail pho was rlly good. The meat peals off the bone, a little disappointing on the brisket tho, maybe I over cooked it in the soup .... I thought I would need more noodles after I finished it cuz the soup was super tasty. The bill came out with something over $30 with tips. Honestly for a bowl of pho I think it's a bit overpriced. Service was very attentive, I got asked by several different ppl how my experience was. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would come back again if in the area. read more
We came here for lunch on a Friday, was told 20 min wait. Their estimates were quite off; 30 min later they still didn't have a regular table yet, but we happily took a bar table. Most of our orders came quickly, but for some reason one dish (crab pasta) took quite a long time to come after the other dishes. I got a combo grilled plate and every item was delicious! I also asked for every sauce and they were happy to get that for me. The place was clean and lively but quiet enough for us to chat, which was what we wanted. First the good: Every staff member we encountered was lovely, the ambiance is generally nice, and we liked our pho (I got vegetarian pho and loved the mushrooms as opposed to the giant pieces of unappetizing broccoli and carrots that often come in this dish at other restaurants), except for the noodles were all congealed/clumped together in both of our bowls, which made it hard to eat. The bad: WOW what a cluster! We walked in to find a mass of people hovering around the door. It was impossible to tell who was on line to get on the list, who was on the list waiting for a table and , who was waiting for take out. Confusion reigned! Staff needs to be a little more assertive in managing the line and telling people not to clog the area. We got on the waitlist and it took about 15-20 minutes to get seated in the bar area, which was fine. But it was also confusing as there were tons of empty tables around the restaurant (maybe reservations? But it didn't seem so). Our pho came quickly but our "starter" (the spinach tofu paper wrap) came about 15 minutes later and was very oily, but good. We didn't seem to have a consistent waiter--we interacted with no fewer than FIVE waitstaff during the course of our meal. I am no restaurant expert but this seems inefficient and confusing, especially as we did not know who to ask for the check and ended up waiting a good 15 minutes before someone came over. Long story longer, this is an okay option if you are already at U Village but bring your patience! read more
What a beautiful interior. I stopped by on a Thursday with my mom with no reservation for lunch and we were seated after a prompt 5 minute wait. The place was bustling but well staffed, and our waiter was very efficient and friendly. We each ordered an entree, and it was my first time trying Bun Bo Hue. This dish was really tasty and I couldn't even name all the spices in it if you paid me to. The combo vermicelli was very light and refreshing, and I was interested the whole time while eating it. Love it when I don't feel bored of something halfway through! All in all, a great place for lunch or dinner with friends or family. Modern twist on Vietnamese classics! read more

Personally find the kitchen at the original Ba Bar on Capitol Hill better, but this location is convenient, spacious and has friendly service. Family-friendly with ample seating options. Get: - Fried oysters: Secret star of the menu! Best tried oysters in Seattle.. - Crispy Imperial Rolls: One of the most popular items on Ba Bar's menu, for good reason! - Garlic Crab noodles: Delicious and decadent - well done! - Duck confit soup noodles: Savory, nourishing, comforting. Tender, juicy duck with egg noodles in a deeply flavorful broth - Combo Vermicelli Noodles or Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Noodles - all the Bowls are served with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The rotisserie grilled chicken is especially notable - perfectly charbroiled, juicy and delicious. Skip: - Oxtail pho: Formerly an incredible dish and a Ba Bar favorite, but the broth lately has become watery, lacking depth and richness - Bún bò Huế: Better at any of the Vietnamese joints in Little Saigon. Modern Vietnamese restaurants have really increased in popularity in the recent years and it's easy to see why. With a focus on fresh, healthy ingredients and bold, flavorful dishes, these restaurants offer a dining experience that is satisfying, healthy and delicious. Ba Bar is a Vietnamese restaurants that has an innovative takes on traditional recipes. You can find classic dishes like pho, Bún bowls / vermicelli noodles & Sài Gòn Chicken Wings on the menu. On Mondays & Tuesdays they have Wing specials - 10 Wings for $9, but you have to order a drink. The wings are sauced up with nước chấm (fish sauce) so very flavorful, our group of 5 ordered 20 wings to start off our dinner! Service was pretty good here, the staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to make recommendations or accommodate any dietary restrictions. One of my cousins accidently ordered a dish that was a bit too spicy and the waiter was able to make another recommendation and swap out her dish. The atmosphere here is welcoming and decorated nicely, we were sat in the back of the restaurant so it was quieter. It was the perfect place to relax, catch up and enjoy a meal with my cousins. I ordered the combo vermicelli noodles for $19. The portion was decent, the noodles were chewy and perfect texture, the chicken thigh was cooked nicely and not dry, but I wasn't a super fan of the house made beef & pork sausage. The dessert selection is slacking here and I think its only offered on weekends & Monday? I wanted to try the Passionate Pandan Cake, but maybe next time! Luckily, Uvillage has plenty of dessert options walking distance to Ba Bar! Overall, a fun, trendy place to go and get Vietnamese food, but priced a bit higher than your typical Vietnamese restaurants. read more
Stopped in for a quick bite, my partner had the chicken pho, I had the farm curry with ramen noodles. You're paying for the ambiance and definitely not the quality of food. For $20 pho you expect it to at least be decent. Any pho dive in Seattle will beat this out. The curry was underseasoned, lacking flavor and the texture of the noodles was off putting. Worst part is biting in to not 1 but 3 pieces of what looked like burnt scraps that were scraped from the bottom of the pan the food was cooked in. This dining experience was definitely a lesson that I never need to eat at a ba bar again. Great service btw. read more
Happy Hour! We came on Tuesday around 3:45 PM and got seated right away. We had the option between indoor and outdoor (heated and covered) seating. Since it's so cold lately, we decided to sit indoors and the ambiance and atmosphere were both great. Ba bar is very hip and modern but still pays homage to vietnamese roots. We ordered from mostly the happy hour menu -- two sets of the $9 10 piece wings, the Ginger Pop cocktail (required $8 drink minimum to have access to the happy hour menu), and the happy hour fried oysters (3 pieces). The wings and oysters are so delicious -- would totally order again! I'm not too keen on the taste of vodka, but the Ginger Pop didn't have too strong of any alcohol taste, so that was great. I liked the addition of the basil seeds too. I also ordered a garlic lobster noodle off the normal menu to take home for my partner. It was yummy but we had trouble finding the lobster bits. For $19.50, it was one of the lesser worthwhile items. The host and servers both were very nice, and even the manager was bussing food! I came around 11.30am on a Friday and was able to be seated immediately without reservations. The restaurant was already pretty full by this time, but half an hour later, the line was out the door. I loved the bright blue exterior and beautiful dining room and bar; servers were available and attentive throughout the meal, and the food was creative and delicious. This is a great mid-price spot for a meal - the menu is a diverse collection of modern fusion Vietnamese fare. read more

Yes but not overly used Msg is in many ingredients that are used in restaurants so places say there don't haven't read their ingredient list
Do they offer bubble tea? Thanks for all your answers! I did just see on their Instagram that they do serve bubble tea, my daughter will be thrilled!
I had their bubble tea last time, but it was too sweet so I'm not a fan.
