Chicken fried steak.
David P.

Another solid breakfast from Arthur's. Had the flat iron steak, cooked to perfection, with country potatoes and eggs. My son had the Peach pecan waffle and loved it. Service with a smile as always in this quaint little, old school spot in mentone. Don't miss the sign off the road across from A&W.

Bacon and egg sandwich

This has been on our list to try and do happy it finally happened. This is such a cute restaurant gives old school dinner vibes but for breakfast. I ordered the egg and bacon sandwich with jalapeños with a side of extra crispy hash browns. The sandwich was very good and a good size and the jalapeños were pretty spicy but delicious. Also order a side of coffee and the waitress offered us a pumpkin spice home made creamer and it was so delicious!

Great food and amazing service. I'd definitely be a regular here. They had a house made pumpkin coffee creamer that was amazing

Dinner salad

One of the best dinner side salads I have ever had. If you love beets and homemade croutons, you're going to love this salad. Sometimes the wait can appear to be very long with people standing outside waiting, but believe it or not they get you in really fast so be patient. They have the best chicken fried steak in the inland Empire in my opinion. I wish they would bring back their Monte Cristo.

I have been going up to Big Bear for decades. I have passed Arthur's over three decades and never stopped. I finally did, and I was not disappointed at all. From what I observed motorcyclists and veterans are usuals. I love the decor. My favorites are signs say, "Letters for our Troops." That got me already. I love supporting our troops! There's a bar, a dining room, and a little area where you can sit outside. It is so cozy. Two in our party order their special, Apple Crunch French Toast. One ordered the corned beef hash. WOW! We loved the food! The special was soooooooo good! And when they say that they are known for their biscuits and gravy, they are not lying. I have never had biscuits and gravy as good as Arthur's. Next time we are there, I am only going to order the biscuits and gravy. The gravy had chunks of sausage, and the flavor of the gravy stayed in my mouth for a long time. I asked for my eggs over hard, and my eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee is pretty strong, too. Shelby was our server, and she is so awesome! She is so sweet and checked up on us often. As we were getting ready to leave, a usual came in, and she asked him if he wanted his usual. That is service! If I lived closer, I would be a usual as well. If you are passing through Mentone, I highly recommend you stop by. You will not be disappointed!

This restaurant is in an unexpected place! Its walking distance from a prominent SDA church with humorous parking, dinning, and patio. The unexpectation comes from the food and service. There is a toss up between the two. The service is as pleasant and attentive as the food is so fresh anf homy. Ashley, the owner is as attending as the rest of the staff. You will shortly be signed out as to be carted to.

The food was great and the service was also very on point. The wait can be long but you can't be angry when everything goes right.

Since we were seated at the table closest to the front door, in between the stairs, it was bothersome to have parties waiting to be seated right next to our table. Especially, when kids kept running up and down the stairs. They would also get in the way of the servers bringing food from the kitchen. Just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. What about the food?: Variety of options for either breakfast or lunch. I went with the crab cakes eggs benedict. Yes, my go-to. And my partner had the country benedict. You definitely get a lot for what you pay for. We both would have liked more sauce. Personally, I like my hollandiase with more tang. Ultimately, it was a satisfying meal but not necessarily something I craved to get again. But if i were to go back, I'd go with an omelet and something from the griddle. The service was attentive. We were given our drink orders right away and checked on multiple times. There was a busboy who was really attentive to fulfilling drink orders and cleaning tables once they became vacant. Amazing work ethic! Note: when you pay, you go up to the stand at the entrance to do so. Small parking lot shared with other shops, but there is some street parking. Although, we didnt go on a weekend so I imagine it's tough to find a spot during peak hours. Edited to add photos

Pro tip: get in line as soon as you get there because it fills up fast and the line can absolutely go out the door. I had the chai latte (so good), a cheese danish (dangerous), and an Everlasting Ferments kombucha...the Habanero Ginger is a sleeper hit. You can also snag breakfast burritos if you're lucky (they sell out), or freshly made stuffed waffles from a vendor outside, which somehow makes the whole experience feel extra charming. There are cute little café tables all around and a tucked-away, walled patio in the back that's perfect for bigger groups. Already planning future coffee dates. I decided to give them some time to get their act together before I returned for a review and today was the day we tried their offerings. I had a breakfast sandwich and my partner in crime had a breakfast burrito. Even though it was after 3:30 p.m. neither of us cared and our 'breakfast' so good. We shared a chai latte which delivered creaminess and flavor. The seating was comfortable, the music playlist was pleasant, and the lighting was comforting. Why anyone would go to Starbucks these days is beyond me. My only complaint is perhaps they need more food offerings. I asked for a spicy sauce to replaced by mayo and they said they had no may. (A kitchen without mayo?!?) My partner in crime is delighted by the many vegetarian offerings, but maybe a little more in the meat side of things? RoadRunner Coffee is just so next level for State Street and Redlands in general. I'm delighted that a business like this will be knocking State Street out of its lethargic nostalgia and into modern-day wonderfulness. It pairs well with our new Page78 bookstore.
