WOW where do I even starttttt!!!? I came in one day for breakfast and I accidentally left my phone in the Lyft ride and the amazing people here LITERALLY waited forever for me to get my phone back and helped me get it to begin with by letting me use her personal cell and then the chef even made me a meal and the main hostess even paid for my breakfast because without my phone I was unable to pay myself. Later I paid for it by tip of 50$ to show my deep appreciation. Despite my anxiety and crying and shaking afraid I'd never see my phone again NOPE here I am with this review. I love the omelette and how they make it, the veggies are incorporated into the egg rather than having a flat egg and it folded over the veggies. I asked for extra crispy hash browns and they delivered- not usually a fan of hash browns but these were good! Big portions as well! Biscuits and gravy were good, I prefer Carolyn's. We were greeted and seated within a few minutes of walking in. There is indoor seating at tables or a bar set-up down the stairs or you can sit in a covered patio (they do have a small AC unit). Monday had a short rush around 1030am. Since we were seated at the table closest to the front door, in between the stairs, it was bothersome to have parties waiting to be seated right next to our table. Especially, when kids kept running up and down the stairs. They would also get in the way of the servers bringing food from the kitchen. Just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. What about the food?: Variety of options for either breakfast or lunch. I went with the crab cakes eggs benedict. Yes, my go-to. And my partner had the country benedict. You definitely get a lot for what you pay for. We both would have liked more sauce. Personally, I like my hollandiase with more tang. Ultimately, it was a satisfying meal but not necessarily something I craved to get again. But if i were to go back, I'd go with an omelet and something from the griddle. The service was attentive. We were given our drink orders right away and checked on multiple times. There was a busboy who was really attentive to fulfilling drink orders and cleaning tables once they became vacant. Visited this breakfast shack while in Redlands with my best friend. We were asked to wait outside, which felt a bit odd since there wasn't anyone waiting just inside the door. The woman running the counter wasn't particularly warm or friendly--very efficient, but not inviting. The food was mediocre at best, though our server was really nice and attentive. The ambiance leans country chic, but if you're looking for something more upscale or welcoming, this probably isn't it. read more

Came in for breakfast with my family, but unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to leave before we were even able to place our food order. We had only been served three coffees, which we didn't even have time to drink, yet we were charged $20. We were especially disappointed because we truly want to support locally owned businesses, but the way the situation was handled made that difficult. On top of everything, the server was very rude when we apologized and explained that we needed to leave immediately due to the emergency. Guys! It's breakfast time! I found this breakfast place while I was going home. So I took my kids here. A nice setting, and pretty easy to find it. Sat down and looked at the menu, and I was surprised to see that there is a loco moco! It's a Hawaiian style breakfast consist of two eggs, hamburger patty and rice with gravy. So we ordered that along with steak and eggs, chicken waffles plus pumpkin pancakes. The food was fulfilling and yummy. The waitresses were very nice and the service was very efficient. Nice, mom and pop joint. Their service is friendly and it hits home here. I would come again to get regular breakfast. Waffles were delish as probably would they the loco moco again. I think the loco moco has good flavor and the beef was cooked good. The only negative thing I would say is the rice tasted like rice pilaf with veggies. We were waiting outside in line when we overheard one of the waitresses speaking incredibly rudely and disrespectfully toward one of their Hispanic employees. At first, I thought they were joking or being playful, but it quickly became clear that she was talking down to him and treating him very poorly. She even told him not to speak to her unless he learned to speak English properly. I could understand him perfectly well, and the way she spoke to him was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. She continued slamming plates and speaking to him in a degrading manner. It was extremely uncomfortable and upsetting to witness, especially because it appeared that he was being singled out because of his language and Hispanic background. My partner and I were so uncomfortable that we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. Employees deserve to be treated with basic dignity and respect, regardless of their background or how well they speak English. I hope management addresses this kind of behavior and makes sure their employees are treated respectfully in the workplace. read more

This place was really good my friend and I stopped by for a quick breakfast before driving back to San Diego. Typical breakfast spot ambiance not too quiet not too loud. Service was prompt, it was busy what looks to be lots of regulars that the waiters know which is always a good sign. And the food came out quick and was really good and they brought us all our requests for extra butter, etc no problem! Me and brother visited for the 1st time. We were warmly greeted and sat promptly. Love how this place looks inside with many different seating options. Chris Stapleton playing in the background a plus. I ordered the corned beef hash with country potatoes and scrambled eggs. Also ordered the cinnamon roll bread pudding. Corned beef hash is not canned which is a plus. It wasn't the best hash I've had but way better than the canned. Eggs were scrambled nicely and loved country potatoes. The star of the show is the bread pudding not too sweet and does remind you of a cinnamon roll. A must get. My brother ordered chicken fried steak and he loved it. The food was great. I brought my parents and my sister with me and we all enjoyed our food. Mine was the steak and eggs with fried green chillies, house salsa, and lemons. It was all very good, and the chilies tasted so good worth some fresh lemon juice. The steak was cooked to my liking, medium-rare, the eggs sunny side up, and the salsa was so good. I'm very happy that they made the Hatch green chilies a permanent item from what I was told as I'm a huge fan of this item for it's flavor and versatile spiciness (mild, but sometimes you get a great little surprise). We were early for a meeting in Redlands on a Tuesday morning. Since we had an hour and a half to fill, we stopped in here for breakfast. (This place popped up on a Google search for a nearby restaurant.) This was a rather unassuming looking place at first glance. We were greeted by friendly staff as we came through the door. We were quickly seated. The place looked very clean. I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy with hash browns and scrambled eggs. My wife had a waffle that came with scrambled eggs and bacon. My food was excellent. There were two large light and fluffy biscuits smothered in a tasty sausage gravy. This covered its own plate. (An oddity in California. Biscuits and gravy that tastes good.). The eggs were cooked just right. The hash browns were great. Everything was hot when it was served. My wife enjoyed her breakfast as well. She said her waffle was wonderful. We were surprised at how busy this place was for a Tuesday morning. There was a constant flow of people of all ages into this place. My wife said it reminded her of cafes in my home state of Kansas. We've had the classic Benedict before, and it comes with three beautifully poached eggs and lots of hollandaise. Either they were out of their normal breakfast potatoes or they've changed them, but they were thinly sliced and a teeny bit soggy, not the chunks of potato we were expecting. The hatch chile Benedict was amazing. Lots of pork, sauce, and chile with crispy hash browns. It was a little disappointing that this one didn't also come with three eggs, only two, so it wasn't a perfect ratio. Today I ordered the mother clucker, which is fried chicken with a choice of eggs, bread, and potato. It was delicious; I was impressed by the thickness of the chicken, and it was cooked perfectly. For bread, I chose the biscuits with gravy--I thought this was fine but not great, being a little too heavy without enough flavor, and I might have preferred toast. Note that there is a 3.5% up-charge for credit card payments. I understand that some businesses do this to pass on the credit card fees that they have to pay (though I would argue that there are costs associated with cash payments, too). It's not a big deal, but I just dislike finding this out at the end of a meal. read more

I used to really enjoy the food at this restaurant, and I hadn't been back in over a year. I was excited to return for what I remembered as a hearty, healthy breakfast. Unfortunately, my experience this time didn't match what I was expecting. The California Eggs Benedict felt like a more expensive, less quality version of a diner-style meal. It included fried green tomatoes that were clearly very thin red tomatoes caked in cornmeal, not the dish I had previously enjoyed. The spinach was also disappointing--sour and bitter in flavor--and the avocado was brown. I also ordered the benedict with ham (Canadian bacon), as I had in the past. This time the ham portion was much thinner than I remember. When I asked the waitress about the ham alone, she said they had never carried that item. However, others I spoke with confirmed that they recall thicker ham in the past, and we were even able to find older reviews mentioning similar portions. Mistakes happen, and I understand food can vary from day to day. But I was disappointed both by the decline in quality and by the lack of trust in the service.
