Our server was very attentive, and the brunch was delicious. Five star very delectable and plenty of food that we couldn't finish. I asked for a mango spicy margarita, although it was lacking the spiciness & the juice was kind of a generic mango taste so I wasn't a fond of that, although my husband had a bloody Mary and he liked it very much with the addition of the bacon. Went here Sunday evening and I wasn't to fond of my experience. Upon arrive I was greeted by the host she led me to the bar. I was on the phone with a friend the bartender brung me water and basically ignored me. I eventually got his attention and ask for a mimosa flight. He asked to see my id, I pulled out my passport. He then replied thank goodness it's you! I said who else's passport would I be carrying around. He then said I'm Just happy it's you. I'm now confused because what does that even mean? An older guys came in and sat not to far from me and he order a beer. The bartender was as already making my mimosa flight stops then makes his beer and then finished my drink and gave it to me. I asked can to place an order for the waffles. The orders after me that came after I did. The older gentleman's food came out first. I'm watching the bartender Check on the 2 couples sitting on opposite ends of the bar. When he finally made it back to me he let me know my waffles would be out shortly. I was taking a photo of my food when the bartender asked how the food tastes? I let him know I haven't tried it yet. He then asked how my day was going I said fine just out here trying different food places and leaving reviews on Yelp since I'm apart of their elite squad. I Took my teenage sons here for breakfast and was disappointed to say the least. Walking in, The hostess was rude, didn't say hello just asked if we had a reservation. There were maybe 12 people in the whole place, she looked around and then sat us at a table right by the front door. The waiter was equally as rude. It seemed as if we were bothering him by simply being there. We ordered a house salad and the ceviche, both were extremely underwhelming. The house salad had mixed greens, 3 tomates and 3 cucumbers. The ceviches was unseasoned and barely covered the bottom of the bowl. The waiter came to our table only when we flagged him down, my son actually had to get his attention because he kept walking by helping other tables, while ignoring us and turning his back to us. Last night was my first time here. I came with a meetup group. We were there by 830, there were maybe 10 people and our group. A friend was denied by the bartender to use the Groupon that he specifically bought to use that night. We were there for karaoke, the system didn't work! It's got a bit of a "vibe" to it with the decor and may be nice just for drinks and catching some sports games - however the food was a total miss for us. We got the Avo Toast and The Rebelle Croissant. Both unfortunately lacking in flavor. The Avo toast wasn't even toasted. The bread was soft - on the soggier side. The avocado spread was plain - not enough seasoning / flavor to it and the fixings on top sparse. The older architecture in downtown Redlands makes for a cozy vibe at the Batter Rebellion. We were greeted immediately by Jessica who immediately sat us at our choice of tables. Jessica was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and gladly made recommendations upon our request. We tried the Obscene Poutine. Nice tender and juicy chunks of braised beef short ribs with a Demi glaze that is out of this world. The waffle fries was a nice twist along with the cheese curds to make it authentic. Everything about this spot is a win. The decor/ambiance, the staff, and the food! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, including the drinks. Everything was flavorful without being "too much". The woman waiting on us noticed (even before we did) that our food was taking longer than usual and corrected the issue. Our group of 5 enjoyed Sunday brunch. Our server, Priscilla was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. We enjoyed the vibe and 80s music playing in the background. We sampled the fowl mouth (chicken and waffle), Hashed Out (short rib and potatoes), chilaquiles, and rad ass waffles (sweet). The waffles are made of corn meal, so they're crisp on outside and tender inside. The fried chicken was super moist and crispy, and the chilaquiles had shredded meat a sunny side egg and pickled red onions. The short rib and potatoes were our favorite, the meat was flavorful and accompanied with sliced mushrooms and onions. The cinnamon whipped cream on the sweet waffle was a winner. The coffee is well balanced and bold and the mimosa was mostly champagne with just a splash of juice. Our server split the waffle plates to make our sharing experience easier. Come here about 5 times a year when in town. Love to get the window seat. Food and drinks are good. Reason for the review is I was here on 5/24 with my mom and partner. Service was very slow even though only 3 other tables were occupied. Was surprised for it being a Sunday afternoon. The primary reason for the 1-star was even though service was slow, we still tipped in cash at 30%. I just checked my credit card online and the server added an additional $35 on my credit card for a tip that was not authorized. The waffles were definitely my most memorable point they were made out of a unique kind of batter and they were absolutely delicious when eaten! They were served up with a special jelly or syrup. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but everything was so good and the beignets weren't the same exact flavor or texture as the ones I got from its original origin in Louisiana, but they were still absolutely delicious.! The service was a bit slow if I'm being honest, but I can't fight them for that because it was a pretty packed and busy day The aura inside it is a bit packed seating outside of the hostess area and it could definitely use a different arrangement, but the location comes off of a little artsy, which is pretty cool When in the area I would definitely visit this location again! read more

Came back to check & they were still packed but Michaela (sorry if I misspelled) made every effort to try to seat us & it turned out that a 2-top near the bar was available because the party that they expected to sit there didn't. The bartender Ella came right over to greet us & recommended the Violet Sky cocktail. She said was a well rounded drink & she was 100% right. It was delicious! There's no Batter Rebellion than the one about to happen in your mouth. And I mean burgers. This gastropub serves up some unique burgers that are filled with rebelling flavors that just somehow work. The black sheep? Can't compete with their onion jam on it. Everything just accumulates into something amazing. Who says being different is bad? The glazed over? It's not exactly using a donut as a bun, and thank goodness cause that's just diabetic and gross. This one uses a brioche bun like any other but has a donuty glaze over it. This one is more like a hearty breakfast burger than anything else but wow, it's great in its own right too. I'm sure they have great drinks too given that it's a gastropub. For my best friend's birthday, Batter Rebellion was one of our stops for a cute brunch to kick off our day. There is street parking in the general area or a public parking structure nearby. They restaurant had fun and hip vibes, with neon backdrops saying, "Misfits" and "Rebel Without a Cause." We were lucky we didn't have to wait, but they looked like they were fairly busy. Service was really attentive getting our orders in, but it was a bit absentee after we received our food. My friend loves fried chicken so it was fitting that she ordered their Fowl Mouth ($18) which is the business' take on the beloved chicken and waffles. Their special waffle batter is a unique jalapeno corn bread mix that goes really well with their juicy fried chicken. I had their Hashed Out ($18.50) which had delicious short ribs and a sunny side up over a bed of tricolored potatoes. It was good but really heavy. I couldn't get to all of the potatoes but the toppings were enjoyable. I also indulged in a Blood Mary ($13) which was about average tasting but I loved the touch of the bacon and olives. Where do I start??? I got to admit, I was disappointed coming here for dinner, especially a date night with my wife. I've been here a few times for brunch, and got to give kudos where it's due. Brunch here is amazing. However, my review is about dinner. I came last Friday 6/28/24. They had a magician here tonight, he was going table to table. He hit every table around my table, but never came to my table. Was disappointed bout that. Next, when our food came out, mine had a little nat running around on my plate. They did fix it by not charging me for my meal, however. By the time my meal did come out my wife was done eating, and she even slowed down for me. And by the way, for $20+ you got to do better than giving a MAN 1 piece of chicken (picture below). Next the owner and his family was in the house. Very nice people, however I did notice and found disturbing, was the staff was very tentative to his table rather than the rest of the guest. I guess my other issue, on top of this is, the wife was going to the kitchen to get things for their table. Which is a little disappointing to me, as I noticed myself and the rest of the guest had to wait a while for our food to come out.
