I came here for the bakery. Everything looked so good, I couldn't decide. I ended up purchasing 2 large cookies to go. I ordered (1) S'mores cookie and (1) Twix cookie. The s'mores cookie was my favorite. It was so moist and all the flavors together tasted like a s'mores treat. Each cookie costed $3.75. If I'm ever in the area, I will stop by again!

If this business still shows as unclaimed and sitting at three stars, I'm honestly surprised. While service can occasionally slow down during peak hours, my overall experience with the food has been consistently enjoyable. They offer some unique menu items you won't find everywhere--like the sinful French toast--which makes it stand out from the typical breakfast options. The location is another plus. It's tucked close to downtown Redlands, so it's easy to take a nice walk and explore local shops after your meal. I'd definitely recommend this spot to friends and family, especially if other popular breakfast places in the area are packed. It's a reliable choice with some fun twists on the usual breakfast fare.

Waited to be seated for 30 min when told it would be 20 ok not a big deal but my husband had to ask them about our table - then after being asked they wanted to seat us in a small table near the entrance where we would be bumping elbows with others passing by- we asked to be seated in a booth and ok they were accommodating but with a bit of an attitude. When the waitress came by asking for our beverage orders I could tell she was already annoyed, we get it you're busy, but nonetheless you work in customer service. We ordered our food and honestly the food was not what I expected . I ordered the ham eggs Benedict and it fell short of what an eggs Benedict should be . The English muffin was soaked in bland hollandaise Sauce, the ham was a steak ham thick and no tasted the potatoes were probably the only good thing on this plate. My husband ordered a meat lovers skillet which was also pretty bland with a Side of toast- now I'm really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt but when I tell you this toast was burnt- I couldn't believe it, I'm not sure if this is all the time or if the waitress was upset, but serving burnt toast, like you can't just mess that up- any who I was really disappointed with this place. Service and food.

Made it to The Eating Room just in time (they stop seating in the restaurant at 2:30 pm). It was a weekday near closing so there was a lot of space, and we were able to get a booth. Our friendly and attentive server was Amber. We got the corned beef hash and Frisco burger. They were so good! Potato wedges were super crispy. Service was great, too. While waiting we got some cookies in the attached bakery. The Swedish Oatmeal is my fave. Also got a Dubai chocolate chip and an oatmeal raisin. Pro tip: if the display shelf is empty, ask if they have some in the back. The bakery servers are also really friendly and helpful.

They have a C rating. That C is also for the lack of C-easoning. And long wait times. How is a place like this still going in 2026?

Upon ariving, we learnt that there was a 30 min wait for a table for 2 on a Monday morning. Don't let the wait discourage you. Trust me, it's worth the wait. The food here is AMAZING! The portions are nice and big, definitely shareable, but you're going to want to order plenty. I got the Mediterranean omelet.. this dish was so flavorful, the garlic stands out. My husband order the cinnamon roll pancakes.. I don't even like pancakes.. but I couldn't get enough of these fluffy, yet crispy and so so flavorful pancakes. We also ordered a side of onion rings. Which were so delicious, crispy and tender in the inside! Now last, but not least the coffee cake.. you have to try these.. they are the star of the show. So delicious. They are topped off with butter which just melts into the cake.. perfect for dessert or even to have with your coffee. Food was impeccable, but so was the customer service. Everyone there was kind, accommodating and friendly. Our lovely waitress was Claudia.. she was the sweetest.. she gave us great recommendations, made sure we were well taken cared of.. and was just amazing! The ambience reminds me of an old school diner.. so special and homey!

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

We made reservations for four, and as soon as we arrived, we were seated right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, I noticed a few cleanliness issues almost immediately. The tables were pretty dusty, and the glass water cups we were given still had food residue on them. One even had what looked like a lipstick mark on the rim. I let our waitress know, and she apologized and quickly brought us new glasses. Those were still dirty as well, with (food residue) so I asked if she could replace them again. After the third attempt, the glasses finally came out spotless. It seemed like there may have been an issue with the dishwasher filter?, but I really appreciated how kind and apologetic our waitress was throughout the entire situation. The drinks were good overall. I ordered a couple of nonalcoholic drinks, and they were refreshing and flavorful. We also tried the cheese fries and the fried onion, and both were really tasty. Overall, I'd give this place a 6/10. The rough start with the cleanliness definitely affected the experience, but the service helped make up for it. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making things right, and that went a long way. I absolutely loved the vibe and the music, and I think this place has a lot of potential. I'd definitely be willing to give it another try because I think it could be a great spot for a fun night out.
