5 stars all day for The Oak House. I got the avocado bacon burger with Swiss cheese, fries with a side of bleu cheese dressing, and a michelada with Pacifico and everything was absolutely on point. The service was perfect as always and the price was completely worth it for the quality you get here. The food is always consistently great and the family that runs the restaurant is genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful every single time. They recognize me when I come in and always treat me really well, which says a lot these days. Highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and honestly their dinner is a hidden secret around town. They put care into every order and treat everyone with kindness and respect. This time I even stopped to pet the goats and alpaca hanging out front. One of the goats was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to get attention which made the whole experience even better. The last time my daughter and I came here, we had a good experience, so I decided to bring some friends there to eat . We showed up about 2:00 Which i know isn't exactly a lunch hour, but we were close by so i suggested the oakhouse. Their were absolutely no cars in the parking lot, and when we went inside it was completely empty except for the cook, hostess and waitress sitting together at one table. We immediately took some menus and seated ourselves. It's a large place and plenty of empty tables. All the people that were with me were very quite looking at their menus , When we all suddely agreed that we couldn't find what we were interested in, and we're shocked at the high prices, so we all stood up and said let's go someplace else, so we did . When you walk in the entrance, you can smell the animals that they have out front, chickens, goats, a llama. Doesn't smell good! We had the patty melt which was greasy, the french fries tasted like they came from a frozen bag, the pork chops were micro thin, very dry and we had the country fried steak that tasted like cardboard. We saw our waiter only once which was when we ordered our food, had no drink refill offers. I will start by saying this place was chosen by a family member and yes they do have a large Trump 2024 sign outside. Additionally, in the front they have 3 african Greys, an Eclectus parrot, chickens, and a few doves. For service, they are popular (many of the patrons sharing the values of the sign outside), they are extremely under staffed. The food came quickly and was ok, nothing amazing, but expect to wait for the check and to pay. I had to thrust the check at our server to be able to pay and going to the front to pay also resulted in a long wait as well. I totally don't blame the server, she was working hard and was the only one there to work the register and wait the tables. I'm going to talk about the birds for a moment as they are part of the reasoning for the lower score. While the parrots seem well fed, there are 3 greys in a cage that is the minimum for a single bird and I'm not expert but that and the cage being in a loud, heavily trafficked area doesn't seem to fit what is right for the needs of these birds. Additionally, the state of the doves, which I do know how to raise, really upset me. There were multiple doves in their cage and a few had others picking out their feathers to the point a few had balding areas and there was very little food in the cage. They owner really should be addressing this. All in all for me, while I found the food was just ok at least not outlandishly priced but will not go back for multiple reasons. read more

There is much to look at here, from outside to in. The reason I knocked off a star was for being political and Promoting Trump. Made me feel a little out of place. With all the controversies going on my opinion is to keep politics out these joints. Our server was not the best either. She didn't check on us so we had to flag her down a few times that's why another star was knocked off.
